Hello and we're back after a two-week break. It's our 3rd annual Halloween Special! I bring to you something I only recently learned, the origins of The Legend of Sleepy Hollows Headless Horseman, but before that Nate explains the origins of Halloween candy and trick or treating, which was definitely not what I had expected. The sound is a little strange in this episode so I do apologize for that but we hope you enjoy!
This week we are back to True Crime. Nate comes to us with the story of Jerry Brudos an American serial killer and necrophile, with a shoe obsession. I follow up with the story of Gary Heidnik, a depraved man who would torture abuse, and kill, he was also said to be one of the people who inspired Buffalo Bill in Silence of the Lambs.
It's Cryptid week! We have a couple of stories for you as usual, and two I never heard of which were pretty cool to learn about. first I bring you the Raven mocker which comes from Cherokee legends and is really interesting. Then Nate brings us the Ningen, an aquatic arctic creature which is also pretty interesting, especially one of the videos floating around online.
We're back! After several illnesses! And today we have the supernatural episode! We mainly talk about supernatural stuff but of course ramble off into various other random topics.
This week we did some paranormal stories, we start with Zombie Road in Missouri which has a lot of claims of a whole plethora of things from shadow people, to zombie railroad workers, right down to the always popular escaped mental patient zombie serial killer! From there we move on to a couple stories from Japan, Aka Manto who corners you in a bathroom stall and gives you a Morpheus decision with extremely different outcomes, followed up with the story of Okiku the doll with a little girls soul...
We didn't record last week so we spend half the episode catching up and rambling and then, BIGFOOT! This week was cryptids again and we have one of the most well-known which we have surprisingly never covered before, yeti's and sasquatch sure, but not straight up Bigfoot. Honestly, there's not much more that can be said, we have all heard of Bigfoot.
It's Cryptid week! This week we have three stories, The Mongolian death Worm comes up you first with all his exploding goodness. Followed by Batsquatch, he's not the hero we deserve but the one we need right now! And finally, wrapping things up The Ahool swoops in, Twice! But the second time he's just being polite and telling you his name.
The wheel of morality has chosen salad for this week's topic. Our salad this week is our specialty of the house. We start with a base of some paranormal lettuce, topped with some fresh-grown haunted veggies. Then we top that we some shredded parmesan and some true crime croutons. Please enjoy your meal and don't forget to tip your waitress.... seriously, we don't pay her and she has a whole clan of children and cats. You don't want the children and cats to starve, do you?!?
In this week's episode, we have the story of Jasmine Richardson who fell for a person claiming to be a 300-year-old werewolf, who was aside from his claims quite a bit older than her, and the murderous consequences that followed. Then we talk about the case of Katarzyna Zowada, a tragic case from Poland which crosses into the Gein and Buffalo Bill territory, and as far as I could find technically remains unsolved or at least without a conviction so far.
This week, CRYPTIDS! First we talk about the Pope Lick Monster which is part man, part goat and part sheep and haunts Louisville, Kentucky. He's a strange mix match who seems to prefer death by train. After Pope Lick we go on to the Jersey Devil, I don't think much more needs to be said about that, if you haven't heard of the Jersey Devil have you even lived?
Two more stories of a completely different nature this week for you all. First Nate brings us the Lizardman of South Carolina and how he got his beginnings by attacking a fast food worker's car, I still believe it's Old Greg though. We have two stories today, they both are unsolved murders in a way. In the first, Eugene Butler, sometimes called The Midnight Rider, left behind a series of victims who have yet to be identified. The second story is about the murder of the Jamison family, who disappeared under strange circumstances. Their remains were found and left many questions, how, and why were they killed, and who killed them. Then after the stories, we test Nate's knowledge of murder terminology.
This week Nate has the story of the Fox sisters, Leah, Margaretta, and Catherine. The sisters were one of the strong forerunners of the movement of Spiritualism. It started with strange rappings in a one-bedroom cottage in Hydesville New York and grew more robust when they moved to Rochester New York.
Hello hello hello, we are back after an unfortunate and expensive missed week. On the way back home to record my car ceased living, the alternator went kaput. Nate was kind enough to arrive and let me sit in the AC while we waited on a tow truck after an hour of trying to get the car working, so about 3 hours of wasted time which was pretty much our recording time for the day. I replaced the alternator so some good news at least. But we are back, today we have a mix of supernatural and paranorma...
Still delving into folklore from around the world we head on up to Russia this week. We have a few interesting creature cryptid things this week from that region, Nate comes with the Kikimora and the Poludnitsa, which isn't a very nice entity. After the break, I come back with the Rusalka, a kind of Slavic siren/evil mermaid.
We continue with folklore this week moving into Asian folklore. Nate gives some insight into the Kitsune, a fox spirit from Japan. I continue with another very short Japanese folklore tale, Botan Dōrō also known as The Peony Lantern, and then step into a very very short story, and by story, I mean more of just a description of the Jiangshi, the Chinese Hopping Vampires. Some folklore, some supernatural and paranormal creatures, what more can you ask for!
We continue our digging through old folklore. Today I get into some Czech and Jewish Folklore by talking about the Golem of Prague. Nate on the other hand sticks with our plans of going into Egyptian Folklore this week, I tried but I found very little and nothing that sparked my interest, but he brings every old ghost story, the Egyptian ghost of Nebusemekh, an interesting story with parts that have been lost to time.
Welcome back, this week's episode we delve a little into South American Folklore. Nate brings us the story of La Llorona, a "woman in white" spirit trapped due to remorse or regret possibly. After La Llorona we jump into the legend of the Baccoo, a weird little cryptid that grants wishes in the form of tormenting others, as long as you feed him that is. In this week's episode we had a few issues, 2 episode ideas fell through both at the last minute so I found a topic and had to do it on the fly which was honestly pretty fun but probably hard to follow. So in this week's episode we cover the Melon Heads folklore or maybe even possibly cryptids? This folklore is primarily found in Ohio, Michigan, and Connecticut. This week we delve back into true crime. I talk about the children who went missing in Angeles National Forest starting in the later half of the 50’s and ending in 1960. Three cases of missing children who all seemingly vanished without a trace despite extensive searches on the ground which included k9 units as well as searches from the air. In total four children go missing without a trace and years later a suspect comes forth but the cases remain unsolved.

This weeks episode is all about creepy games, or ghost games, or technically all the little ritual games going around. We talk a little about the games as we go through the steps to play them. In today's exciting episode, okay, maybe not exciting, but always fun. Anyways, in today's episode, I talk about Mel's Hole, a mysterious legend in Washington. An 80,000+ foot deep hole where strange things happen, like ice lighting on fire and cooked sheep having unusual babies... yeah, you'll find out. And Nate discusses the European Organization for Nuclear Research. What it is, what they do, and then the weird theories that people have about what they think they do.
Our first story this week is about two children who mysteriously appeared on the outskirts of the small village of Woolpit in the 12th century. What made this a bit more unusual is that the children had a green tint to their skin, wore odd clothing, and spoke in a strange unknown language. In our second story, Nate tells us about the mass UFO sighting at a school in Zimbabwe in 1994. 62 children in total all described seeing the same object and creatures.
Nate has two interesting stories for us. Both involve bad cases of radiation poisoning. And The Demon Core, this one I've heard before and its pretty crazy, we hope you enjoy it.
In 1965 a 16 year old girl was taken in by a friends parents along with her sister while her father traveled for work. Her parents had trusted this woman to take care of their daughters, shortly after arriving to stay with her the abuse and torture began eventually ended in this poor girls death at the young age of 16. This episode covers what the poor girl went through and the what can only be considered injustice her torturers received. A definite trigger warning for this episode.
