Knowing involves more, doesn't it?
God checks your bags of concern, burden or joy that you bring to a Sunday morning worship gathering.
It shouldn't surprise people to know Christians who are nice, friendly or helpful.
What job, what city, what direction of life, all your decisions are based upon helping you live in a way that the world knows the love of God.
Do you recall what Jesus did on his last night alive? When the reality of the shortness of his life was before him, what did Jesus do? He prayed and he served.
What might it say about our churches that we'd rather meet to knit than to pray?
Woe to you, O land, whose king is a lad and whose princes feast in the morning.
"If God says you're a fool, you're a fool.
God's church has brought together people from all ages, nations and races. This church has nurtured my faith. It has challenged me and showed me the grace of God. I don't know who or what I'd be today with my church.
In a marriage, in life how you "clothe yourselves" matters.
Someone once said that hell is getting what you asked for.
If you experience the freedom of serving God in fulness, you'll be better prepared to help the church do the same.
Their defeat didn't change God. Yours won't either.

We are a part of the priesthood of all believers. As such, shouldn't we have a blessing to share to those around us? Shouldn't we seek to bless people with God's peace?
Here's the thing, God challenges us as we keep in communion. Most people seem to think growing in grace simply means learning more stuff. But it's much more than that. It's deeper. It's meaningful.
Thank God we do have the same promise of God's care. We have the outpouring of God's Spirit. And we have the blessing of Christ.
This kind of attention helps us see what we otherwise miss. And most of us miss a lot. Flaneuring might also help us wander with intention in our walk with God.
All of scripture teaches us to trust in God's faithfulness and mercy. So, don't leave any of it out!
As Jesus people, we have the authority to teach God's truth and share the love of God. Now, let's not confuse our authority.
When we go with our tendencies, we're prone to build more for ourselves.
That's what makes what happened at Pentecost so important. The church wasn't formed at that moment. It was fully clothed, empowered and fully equipped to begin its work without Jesus.
I do not want to imagine facing death without our faith in Christ. I can't imagine what I would think and what I would feel if I did. Through Christ's resurrection, I can celebrate that life with God never ends. And I can also trust the Lord knows the pain I experience.
Let's not only wish and hope our youth grow up to be faithful adults. Let's not keep our kids busy with church-y stuff, hoping that does the trick. Instead, let's be willing to do whatever we need to do to prepare them to find Jesus-centered answers.
As we seek to be faithful to God, we'll need to keep praying.
We should thank God for the people that share in the gospel with us as well.
God abides with us through the Word, Christ Jesus, and through the word, scripture.
