Episode description

Knowing that there are more than the 5 senses you were taught throughout your childhood, let’s talk about another one. Today we’re going to talk about the sense of self. Have a listen.

Highlights:

  • Humans use a sense of self as a way to navigate the world of society and as a way of motivating ourselves. (9:00)
  • We talk about ourselves as if that’s who we are all the time, but really, that’s something that is altered. (13:25)
  • That self is whatever I’ve identified as me. It has to do with experiences I’ve collected, or had powerful emotional responses to, or the things that have felt “important”. (18:45)
  • This search for who you are, is what a lot of people are on. (27:05)
