Rating: 96% - Must Watch Send us your thumbs because we saw the show live, so can’t be relied upon to not to overthumb every single thing that happened. Do it, you [EXPLETIVE] marks!
Okay, look - the audio is TERRIBLE. We thought we could record outside of the theater after the PPV, then the wind kicked up and the Drunken Crab had what we can only assume was a jet engine on out front and well … we wouldn't hold it against you if you skipped this episode. But Double or Nothing was still a great show. We don’t usually thumb PPVs because they’re so damn good - if we did, it would definitely be in the Must Watch range. But we had Kevin Decent, Mike Solko, and Purple and Black At...
Our Rating: 89% - Worth Watching Audience Rating: 77% We asked and you responded! Tweet us with your thumbs and, if we get it in time, we’ll add you to our audience rating of the show! Thanks this week to Andy Costello, Kevin Decent, and Jerry Armstrong who all make an appearance this episode!
Rating: 88% - Worth Watching Wanna make your thumbs heard? If you can get us your ratings before 9:30 PST, we’ll factor them into the final numbers - tweet them to @aedoubleback on Twitter!
Rating: 82% - Worth Watching UNUSED TITLES FOR THIS EPISODE: The Bork Borks of Wrestling One Hundred and Juan “Juan” Jokes Everyone Comes Back Into the Office!
Rating: 88% - Worth Watching Would you look at that? It’s almost like AEW gives a crap about its women’s division! Who woulda thunk it in this day and age? Also, if you’re not into that Rey Fenix vs. Dante Martin match, what are you even doing here?
Rating: 83% - Worth Watching Despite its “low” rating, this is an AMAZING show. Scorp and Sammy, the return of Rey, Blackpool Combat Club with the - dare we say - impish William Regal on the announce table. Plus, the fabled DOUBLE RAINBOW!
Rating: 98% - Must Watch I think we can all agree that was a pretty good episode. Possibly the highest thumbed episode since the Brody Lee memorial?! Whaaaaaaaa? It’s like these folks know how to put together a wrestling show or something!
Rating: 90% - Must Watch The sound of those chops will ring in my ears for the rest of my life.
Rating: 84% - Worth Watching A crime is committed this episode that shall live in infamy. Historians will write of the day that AEW made Chan thumb down a Butcher and The Blade match. Oh the humanity! The humanity!
Rating: 93% - Must Watch What other show is gonna give you the youth pastor jokes and insufferable SJW nonsense that you crave with your wrestling jibber jabber? Nobody, that’s who!
Rating: 90% - Must Watch Dax Shepherd makes an appearance (not really)! Dynasty of Violence wrestles (although they aren't actually called that)! And the crowd gets real Rome, circa 33 AD in ways that are deeply troubling! All that AND Dark Order vs. the JAS? Mama, I'm comin' hoooooooome!
Rating: 91% - Must Watch The belts are where they belong. Everything else beyond that is just gravy. Here’s the excerpts from the Talk Is Jericho episode we mention. REGAL DESERVES HIS OWN GD HALL OF FAME. https://wrestlingnews.co/aew-news/william-regal-goes-into-great-detail-on-his-health-issues-says-hes-been-wrestling-with-a-broken-neck-since-1993
Rating: 93% - Must Watch A lot of things happened tonight.
Rating: Just Watch It, For Crying Out Loud! Despite Chan’s pissiness, this is still one of the best PPVs any of us have ever seen. Is it worth $50? Hell yeah! Is it worth $25 to watch the next one in a theater even though corona’s not over yet? Be careful and wear a mask, but still, yeah!
Rating: 90% - Must Watch It's Dynamite's go-home show and it's a doozy! Plus, the long-teased announcement that held the Internet Wrestling Community's attention for several days! And the fist bump that shook the world! Also: learn what "hot tamale" means! Mostly.
Rating: 97% - Must Watch Look, we shouldn’t have to sell you on this episode - just look at the rating. Buuuut, if you need enticement to listen to this podcast, let’s just say there’s a LOT of real-time Urban Dictionary searching happening.
Rating: 89% - Worth Watching Please be patient with us; we could have done an entire separate episode about our feelings on the Rhodes absconding to Parts Unknown, but we crammed it into this SUPER-SIZED episode! Plus - find out whose thumb is at fault for just missing the coveted Must Watch ranking! And … who is AEW’s Paul Reiser? The answer may surprise you (but probably not)!
Rating: 79% - Must Watch?! Normally, 79% isn’t anywhere close to a Must Watch (our metrics are <90% - Must Watch, <70% Worth Watching, <60% Watch Segments), but despite a bunch of clunker segments, you'd be a fool to miss this one! Also, see if you can spot when in the podcast Chan just straight up dies and we have to splice in his ghost podcasting from the afterlife! Did you know? COVID is real, but also all the other diseases - including plain old nasty colds - are still around?!...
Rating: 83% - Worth Watching A real up and down episode, but a nice recovery considering.
Rating: 80% - Worth Watching A really great start and finish make up for some real stinker segments.
Rating: 93% - Must Watch The Butcher’s back! The Butcher’s back! And also some other guy … Jom Boxbey? Jim Bicklesbort? Anyway, he’s cool too.
Rating: 86% - Worth Watching MORE MOO SHU SIMULATION
Rating: 73% - Worth Watching Danielson/Page II? Yes. TBS Title? Absolutely. I have a Ph.D. in this shit? Again again again! But … yeah. Not AEW’s finest two hours. Maybe they’ll make up for it with Rampage on Friday (10p) and Battle of the Belts Saturday (8p)? We shall see.
Rating: 83% - Worth Watching Final show of the year and we've got six-man tags! We've got ten-man tags! We've got skin tags in places we never expected to find them because we're getting older and that's just the sort of thing that happens, y'know? Aging is a sonuvabitch and we do not recommend it nearly as much as we recommend AEW Dynamite - next week on the mother station! Check your DVRs!
Rating: 90% - Must Watch Don't forget to check us out on Knowing Is Half the Podcast - a special crossover edition where we talk about an episode of Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n Wrestling! It is much, much, MUCH worse than this week's episode of Dynamite!
Rating: 91% - Must Watch Okay, look - the notes for this show are weird. Just … make sure you know all these references, okay? Google them if you don’t, because you’ll be completely lost otherwise. I know - it’s a lot for a show about a show that’s about fake fighting. Waddaya gonna do? We’re in the Darkest Timeline here. Alice’s Restaurant by Woody Guthrie YTMND - https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/sites/ytmnd In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly Splorch - https://www.primalhardwere.com/product/OSP...
Rating: 95% - Must Watch This show is all that and a bag of chips.
Rating: 73% - Worth Watching So many tangents, but this podcast still clocks in at under an hour? That probably tells you something about this week’s Dynamite. Not much there; but even at its worst, it’s still the best wrestling on television.
Rating: 86% - Worth Watching Characters? We got ‘em! Finally! Now all we need is airtime for women and Black wrestlers!
