Zac O'neil is an ultra runner & mountaineering enthusiast. His passion for running first fuelled by a more vein pursuit to 'look good' in the wake of a break up. Zac describes feeling insecure about his body image for a large portion of his life. That deep seeded insecurity now weighing a little lighter on the mind as so many look to Zac as an inspiration for not what his body looks like, but rather what it is capable of.
In the lead up to Zac's recent 240km ultra from the sandy shoreline of Eden in the South Coast to the top of Australia's largest peak, Mt Kosciuszko, he had to conquer both a 100km race in Alice Springs & a 160km race in the Central Coast to qualify for Australia's highly regraded 'Coast To Kosci'.
As they say, 'Rome wasn't built in a day', neither was Zac's feat in conquering the 240km race. It is the product of the past 5 years, building a body & mind resilient enough to tackle huge challenges. We discussed what the last 5 years have taught him about life & himself, in a very inspiring yet down to earth conversation.
It was an honour to have a man that I consider a mate, share a conversation on the poddy & celebrate the accolades he has worked incredible hard to achieve.
