A Childhood Surrounded by Alcohol & Violence Fuelled James Storer to Represent Fiji at 3 Rugby League World Cups.
Episode description
James Storer is the definition of resilient.
A proud Fijian & Aboriginal man who grew up in an environment that tested every ounce of your strength & will to survive.
Jimmy's childhood was an environment surrounded by alcohol & violence. It shaped him as the provider & protector for his family at a young age & it is why he describes himself as a young man at the ripe age of 8 years old.
When faced with such adversity, most conform to it by adolescence. Choosing to lead a life similar to the one they have been exposed to, but James chose a different path. One that required him to have gratitude for the challenges & hardship he had faced. Gratitude that fuelled his success as a professional rugby league player & drove him to represent Fiji at 3 rugby league world cups.
There are some people you meet in this life that leave you inspired with each encounter, Jimmy is one of those fellas. A story of true resilience in the face of great adversity.
