Episode description

Your host in this episode is Goldie Uttamchandani and the introduction is presented by Rivan Chandwani.

Having a conversation where both parties come out winning can sometimes be tricky, especially if there are irrational conflicts or misunderstandings. The way we communicate is the base building block of connection with others and Marshall Rosenberg offers a technique called NONVIOLENT communication (NVC) and also called the language of the heart, where we put most importance on compassion for ourselves and the other person. In understanding what lies behind the unpleasant feelings that sometimes can hinder our messages. These feelings occur because there are unmet needs. Through NVC we learn how to meet these needs and then make the right requests. By using NVC we are not convincing others to do what we want, rather creating a connection with others so mutual understanding is achieved. In this episode you will hear:

* 2 examples where this methodology is applied, with breakdowns of the conversation to understand where things go wrong and how can it be corrected.

* Understand the theory behind this type of communication: how to resolve differences peacefully through empathetic listening and honest expressing.

* An invitation to practice yourself and learn more from me in individual sessions. You can contact me via www.goldieuttam.com
