TL;DR
You can now search for podcasts in Metacast on the web.
Why search for podcasts on the web
We added the podcast search engine to our site to cover a few use cases:
- It's easier to type on a keyboard. Listening to podcasts is so much better in a mobile app, but searching is so much easier when you have a physical keyboard.
- Using data from podcasts is easier on a computer. If you need to copy parts of the transcript, download the episode's audio file, or link to multiple podcasts or episodes, it's so much easier on a large screen device that supports multi-tasking.
- Researching is more effective on the web. If you're researching a topic using podcasts, it's easier on the web.
- Listen on the web. Some people prefer listening to podcasts on the web. Podcast search makes it easier for them to find the content.
How to use the podcast search engine
Every page on the Metacast web app has a search box at the top. Simply type the podcast name to search.
The search will show you the top 5 results. If you want to see more, press Return/Enter on your keyboard or click Show more. That will take you to the podcast search page.
Open the podcast in Metacast mobile app
When you've found the podcast you want to listen to, you can easily open it in the Metacast mobile app by clicking Open in Metacast to scan a QR code that will take you directly to the podcast or episode.

How does it work
Similar to most other independent podcast apps, we use Apple's iTunes Search API. If you want your podcast to appear in our search engine, make sure to add your show to Apple Podcast Connect.
