We're fading in, We're fading in, we're fading in. Here we go. It's time for Super Chuckle Mania, episode number I. Believe it's 403. Halfway to 806. Oh yeah. And did you know that if you're listening to this episode, the world hasn't ended? Yet. Yet. We'll get to that. Oh my goodness. How are you? Where are you? I'm now just near Geelong, OK, not that far from the Great Ocean Road. For anybody who knows this area, yeah, it's very cold in the morning. I.

Bet we'll get to that later. That's that. That was a problem. OK, well let's get into it because there's a lot to cover so. Let's just go. And I went on. Muck it around? No. Do have a coffee update? I do have a coffee update. Cue the music. Butter Bang Bang. Here we go. Well, it's June, so that means it's time for my Starbucks free birthday drink. Hello. And I'd I I'd forgotten about it. I just went in there to get a drink. OK, and they're like, oh, you've

got the free birth. Oh, and I'm like, Oh my God. OK, so I go, you go crazy for that because it's all free everything. So obviously Venti size, the biggest size you can get. I looked at the like they had that shortbread thing and the the cinnamon Dolce and I'm like, I had all them. So I'm just like, I'll just go the classic caramel macchiato, right? I got two extra shots. I got oat milk, I got whipped cream. I got the blonde roast, whatever that is. Oh, and some.

Caramels, more extra caramel stuff on top. Everything. Yeah, everything I could think of. Even the girl was suggesting things. I'm like, what else can I get? She was helping. Well I'll get to that in a minute. OK this is a brand new Starbucks it's literally been open like 2 weeks. So the girls working there were super nice. Still super nice. You know, you can always tell when when someone's you in a job, like, they're still smiling

and happy to be there. Like, I love it when I go to McDonald's or Hungry Jacks and there's just like new people. And it's like, oh, this is called customer service. They're just nice, happy people. They want to take my order. They're not jaded yet. Compared to the people who've compared to the people who've been there for like even six months, who just hate their job and hate everything and hate every customer that even walks in the door. OK. But you know why that is?

It's it's not because of customers like you, it's because customers that are just trash that. Make their life. I know why. Yeah, I know why. But they don't know that when you walk in the door. Yeah, exactly. They're just like, here comes another one. Here we go. Yeah. I don't know what's gonna happen. Yeah, but it's just like they've just got a vibe. These people who hate their jobs, like, you can just see like the anger just seething out of their heads.

Yeah, like, you can just see them. They just hate it. They hate everything. Yeah. Oh, my God, I it's so I don't know. It's just disappointing to see that. Yeah, when I go into McDonald's in the morning, I'm happy. I'm going to get my hash brown. It's a great day. Yeah. But. And then I walk into some just miserable cow faces. Like what? Do you want? Oh my God. Well, I want you to fucking smile for a start, but you can't say that, can you? Jesus.

So anyway, you're having your birthday drink? Yeah, she was helpful. Oh. Slap to well yeah that's that's the story OK oh she was such a nice girl she she literally would have been like probably 16 or 17 right and just so nice yeah I mean it helped she was not ugly but oh it was just it was just such a nice this is how I want every customer service interaction that I'm involved with to be like just everyone's happy customer and worker and it's like how nice is this well in the.

Future everything will be AI so all the robots will be happy. Oh, that's true, they won't give you. Attitude. They'll just do what you ask. Oh no, they'll they'll start programming them with attitude to deal with idiots. But it was just, it was just so good. And it's like, why can't it be like this? Why do I have to have these miserable donkeys just Oh Jesus. Anyway, so that was that was good. That was good that that could even be what's good. It was just such a nice time.

So the coffee update is is you got your birthday coffee. Yes, and it was great. It was great. And another coffee thing. I can't remember if just you and me talked about this or we did mention it on the show, but you can get these coffee sachets. They're just like a powder. They've got like coffee powder and milk powder and all you got to do is add hot water to them and there's your coffee yeah, you can add milk if you want as well. But now there's these liquid sachets.

Yes, yes come out just recently I think in Makona. Yes, I bought them because they were half price when they first. No, not, not the first week they were out, but maybe the second or third week that were out they were on the shelf at a half price. So they were like 40-5 cents or something. I bought the caramel. One OK, I just got the normal espresso or strong espresso, whatever it was. Yeah, dark or whatever it's. Called and and and I say no. No, you don't like it.

Smelled really nice. It smelled really nice When you open it and I smelt it, I'm like, Oh yeah, this is going to be good. How did you make it though? Well, here's the thing, here's the thing, here is the thing. Like you read the instructions and it's like just add 150 mils of hot water and first of all, I'm like, that's not a coffee. Is that even half a coffee? That is like, that's like a bloody little shot, right? That's nothing, right.

So to make one normal coffee, you've got at least two sachets in there. So straight away you're 10 pack, you're really only getting 5 coffee. So it's, it's nowhere near the the good value. You thought it was even at half price because you need two of them to make a normal sized coffee, right? And yeah, it was just really average. It just it wasn't a strong taste. Do you still have some left or you you finish? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. OK. Yeah, I've still got some.

OK, here's a tip. I've only had like half. Here's a tip. What I did with mine is, is I on the stove top, I heated milk and you put the sachet into the milk and you heat it and stir it through. And then your cup put like a shot of instant or whatever in it. And then once it's hot, like hot, pour it in like a hot chocolate kind of thing and then stir it through. That's how you do it. That's what I did. So you're, you're adding the liquid sachet to this hot milk, milk, milk, Yes.

And then you add that to a cup which already has like 1 spoon of instant in it. Yeah. Because I had because. It's not strong enough. Well, yeah, I had the caramel one, which is more like it's a new right away it's going to be sweet and probably not really, you know, it's not going to be a coffee hit when it's diluted with the milk. So I thought like at least I've got the sort of caramel flavour and the sweetness and I won't

need sugar. But then I add like a spoon of instant and then this hot milk with the the coffee sweet, the caramel in it. It was nice, it was good. So maybe try try that way. OK. That's my hot tip for the week. Report back next week. Yeah, I'll have to try something because they're just really average as they are. Yeah, like I mean, it was half price for a new product. Okay, I'll try it. I'll try any anything. Yeah, but yeah, we'll see.

So that's that's all I got. That's all I got for coffee. Stove top milk heated and Sasha. Yeah, I'll just microwave it. OK, well, however you want to do. I'll just, I'll just get me oat milk in the cup, microwave that, check the sachet in, then instant powder on top of that. That'll do the same thing. OK, try it. Because I cannot cook hot milk, it just it undergoes chemical changes and I don't like it. OK, no worries. So. So that's coffee butter bung

bung next. Now it's time for what's good this week. What's good this week? Hit us with it. Well remember I was going to see the Super Jesus. Hmm, after the last gig was cancelled with no reason in Roselle. Well, this sounds promising. If it's in, what's good? Oh well. Spoiler the last key in Rozelle was cancelled. No explanation, just cancelled. No one ever said anything. It was supposed to be rescheduled, that never happened.

And then there was a previous show, it was in October 2021 that was also cancelled, but that was due to a COVID thing, but still again, Also it's supposed to be postponed to a new date, Never happened. Never happened, so third time lucky. I did see them 15th of September 2023 at the Croxton Hotel in Melbourne. So it's not that long since I've seen them, right? But I came down to this Geelong area and they were playing in the bar 1 Heads Hotel, like literally the day I got here.

OK, so we, we woke up, we moved, we came to this place, unpacked everything and I was like, I'm gonna see super Jesus now. It was great. It was 14 minutes away, 14 minute drive. That's not too bad. It's so good to just walk out of a show and then be home like in under 15 minutes. It's it's so good. It's good. It was great. Everything was great. They played the new album in full whole thing. Wow, start to finish. You know, that's like anniversary show set lists.

Yeah. And this is what we used to be crying out for Prince to do, right, Instead of playing two songs off the new album. Yeah. And then all the hits. Yeah. Nah, they just came out and go. We're playing the new album start to finish. Yeah. If you don't like it, see you later. Yeah, this is what's happening. It was so good. It was so good. They literally had like a 3 minute break and then they came out and played like about probably 8 or 10 more songs like all all the all the big hits.

You know what Prince should have done? Like, here's us going on again about. Here we go, He. Couldn't and should have done or whatever, but, you know, like the main concert, like sure, do all the hits and and all that. But you know, he did the after

shows. Yeah, the shows were, you know, OK. There was some like obscure songs, but there was also like covers was like that was mainly like an after show, but like imagine like an after show where he just picked an album just like start to finish. That would have been awesome. Oh my God that is unbelievable. Yeah or he wouldn't even have to be the whole album. He could still do just his random songs that he thought of but literally do like 5 songs off the new album instead of the

one that he did during the main. Show. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. And, like, reward the hardcore people, Yeah, who lined up for hours after the show and paid like, $100 to get in with, you know, something good. Yeah, not that the after shows weren't good. Yeah, anyway. Oh God, that would have been great. Yeah. Anyway, show was great. It was great. Now you were. What can I say? I think you messaged me saying like you were positioned right near the mixing desk, is that

right? You weren't up the front, you were just. When I first got there, I was when I first got there this Well, I got there like halfway through the support act and they were fine. Mountain. No, they were called Howling Mountain. I thought you were going to say such a great name for a band. Mountain Dew. Howling Mountain Dew and Oh yeah, it sounded good OK, but you want to be close up because this was not a big venue, right? So I literally ended up like 3 people from from the stage.

Oh nice. And I had my earplugs in yeah which, oh this let's let's say Barwon Heads hotel. What what a place they they gave me free earplugs. I asked for them, but they they just, they just handed them to me. OK, Because when I got up to the the guy to get in, I was think because I know I had some in the car, which I've I've used before and I just keep using them. And then I'm like, oh, I just remember I left my headphones and like my earplugs in the car. And he's like, oh, don't worry,

just go to the bar and ask him. I'll give you some. OK, They did. Beautiful. Wow, you know it's. When I asked them I was just when they went to hand him, I was just waiting for like 5 bucks. 5 bucks please, nothing beautiful free probably. That was great. Yeah. And then when and then when I was leaving, they just had like a table full of like 600 mil bottles of water. They're like, you want a water? I'm like, sure I want a water. Why not? What a place.

Yeah. If you're ever down this way, just go there. I don't care what's going on. Yeah, they're just they're just a good place. I don't, I don't promote places, but everything was just good. Shout out to them. But yeah, it was just good. Great. Now over to you. What's good? OK, what's good this week? Now, you might have heard. And I just when I heard this news, I was thinking, surely this is fake news. And it was the announcement of Spaceballs 2.

And I'm thinking, hang on. Yeah, Mel Brooks. Isn't Mel Brooks in his 90s? He's 98. I think he's turning 99 the day after my birthday, the 28th of June. OK, Yeah. And it's, I just, I just saw a 22nd clip of him and he's like, you know, we, we asked the fans what they wanted and they all said the same thing. Yeah, more Spaceballs, right? That's what we're doing. And it's like, wow.

Yeah, and like, not only that, it's like, I keep reading this article and they're like Rick Moranis, and it's like, hang on, this guy's like a recluse now. Like he is, you know, 'cause I think, didn't the wife die and then he left Hollywood and he's never been seen again and all this sort of stuff. Do you? Remember like a few years ago he was walking the streets of New York and some guy just randomly punched? I remember that story, that was insane. No, but.

It's like the poor guy. Yeah, I know. And you know, that the guy who was just going around punching people, he didn't know who he was. It wasn't like a targeted thing. He was just punching people, right? But like, of all the people, like this guy who was, like, tried so hard to get away from the public eye, right? And then he makes, like, worldwide news for getting punched by a random idiot.

It was insane. Didn't they try to get him up, you know, out of retirement for all those Ghostbuster remakes? I think they did and he said no. Think so? And he said no. Yeah. And so like when they said he's coming back for this, it's like, surely this is fake news. You got, you know, Mel Brooks and Rick Moranis and, you know, all the other people and stuff. And it's just like, I just, I had to read the story about three times. So I I think it is real.

I can just imagine Mel saying to Rick, look, look at me, I don't have much time left, just do this one thing for me. Come on, forget all the other stuff. Forget all the Ghostbusters. This is what you need to do. Right. Do it from. Do it for your old, your old friend Mel. Well, it's, it's legendary. If it if it comes to fruition, it'd be this is gonna be really epic. Didn't he just do something like he did like a big six part thing

just like a year or two ago? Oh, was it like the History of the world Part 2 or something? That sounds familiar, but. It was like a massive, like epic thing. I haven't watched it yet. I just haven't got to it. But right, holy moly. It's like, how is he still going? Yeah, I know. Yeah, but I mean. Crazy nice baseball's too. I mean, we saw Coming to America too. We've seen a few sort of comeback sequel things like this, so. This is the next thing you.

Can't have I hopes, but I mean, it's Mel Brooks, so I don't know, right? But also too, you know, what platform is it gonna be? Is it gonna be like a movie in cinemas or is it gonna be straight to streaming? It'll be something streaming and that means you'll have to have the right thing, but then everyone's just gonna pirate it anyway so it doesn't really matter. No, Well, it matters to me in the sense of like, if it's like a full on movie, like it it, they'll probably take it more

seriously. If it's just streaming, you know, it's gonna be like garbage. It's gonna be like, OK, this is like one of those write off things. But just looking at how risk averse, yeah, movies, yeah, companies are over there, are they really gonna say to like, you know, it's all run by bloody 30 year olds now. They don't know who Mel Brooks is. They don't know space balls, They don't know anything. Well, I they're just gonna have this 98 year old guy turn up and go.

Hey, let me do a movie and I'll be like, what are you talking about, old man who? Are you? I read a story about how all these studios in Hollywood are closing cause like there's no productions happening and now because they've got these empty studios sitting there empty, they're now leasing them out to like social media influences. So I did see that, yeah. So now they use the full on movie facilities for their own YouTube platforms and things now. So it's that's what the world's

becoming. That's the world now. Yeah, exactly. Anyway. Holy moly, Space Force 2. That's good this week. So you know what's good this week? Well, I think this was maybe 2 weeks ago but I somehow totally missed it. There is a new Doobie Brothers album. Yes, I've got. And Michael McDonald is back. Yeah, I got this down because I saw it and I thought, oh, I'll, I'll listen to this. I haven't listened to it from front to end. I've like skipped through it. But I listen to that maybe the.

Staples. Yes, exactly. Wow, and she sounds good. She's like like 80, isn't she? She still sounds great. Yeah, she sounds great, but also too it's you've listened to the whole album. Oh, I listen to it, but I haven't. I didn't see that with headphones and listen to every second. I just had it on when I was doing stuff. So I haven't had a good listen. But it's just so good to hear Michael McDonald's voice again,

yeah. But like the first few songs, like getting into it, it's like, you know, because like they had this like unofficial genre of yacht rock, like the yacht rock sound. But to me it sounds more like like more like a Travelling Wilburys album or something like that. Like more sort of a bit countrified. Yeah, it is. Yeah, it is. It's not so much yacht rock and it's a bit more something else. Yeah, exactly. I mean, it's not bad. I'm not saying it's a bad thing.

I'm just like, I was expecting something a bit like I wasn't expecting that kind of thing. It's like, oh, OK, they. Got this. I was because I literally have now, I think listened to all The Doobie Brothers albums, right? And you think it's a natural progression? Yeah, it's pretty much. It's not any different from what the last few albums were, except you can tell Michael McDonald's there. His voice is there, and he's, you know, doing songwriting as well.

Right. And I just realized the last track, Lahaina, features Nick Fleetwood, Henry Kapono and Jake Shimabukuro. Now, Jake Shimabukuro, if anyone doesn't know, I saw him with Tommy Emanuel at the Angel Place Recital Hall. Your favorite venue. Yeah. Yeah. But yeah, he came out and played with Tommy Emmanuel because he's an amazing, like, guitarist. Hmm. So I need to listen. I heard that song but I need to listen to that again now that knowing that he's on it.

Yeah, I need to have it. I need to sit with it more. Oh yeah, I need to get the headphones on him. Yeah, walk around Westfield. That's what I need to do. Yeah, that's the way to do. It so new Doobie Brothers album. There you go. 2025. Yeah. Who saw that in the in the bingo card? Holy moly. Exactly. I think that's all I got for what's good. And the other thing I've got for what's good is Lenny Kravitz is coming back to Australia and to yes, yes, so.

Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Mildura. Sure. He's doing Newcastle, Mildura and I think is the Grand Prix in SA because I think Adelaide, yeah, yeah, I think the Grand Prix, those tickets are like 99 bucks and it's like, OK, he's not going to do a full on show. That's why the tickets are cheaper. What is it? It's around like October, November. November yeah, but I think he's last tour, I think he he cancelled because he was sick or something. So like, oh, he hasn't been here

for a while. So I think this is the makeup tour. So, but I saw, I saw on YouTube about a month ago, like at wherever he's like currently touring somewhere in Europe and I had the full show on and I watched it. It was, it was good. It was really good. Would you pay 100 bucks to go and see it? If it was $100, yes, but it's not $100. They're almost like 3 to $500 the tickets. OK, well that rules me out then.

Yeah, I saw the tickets and it's like no. And there's and also too, it said something about it was some disclaimer about how like due to fluctuating demand, you know, ticket prices made. It's that dynamic price garbage, yeah, but. They would it in some fancy way and it's like, oh, OK, so you're going to just like up the price if it's popular and if it's struggling, you're going to make it cheaper. OK, we get it.

Yeah, so. And then they wonder why people don't want to be buying tickets so far in advance these days when you know you're better off just waiting till the day of the show. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. And that also means if the ticket sells so badly, half the time the shows just get cancelled anyway. Yeah, you know, everyone loses. Yeah, well, also, too, like, 'cause my work's connected to the kind of that kind of concert industry.

I think they get like, tickets to certain shows, and I would kick myself if I dropped like 3 to $500 on a ticket. And then, you know, 'cause Oh. Yeah, we've got some tickets. Tickets, yeah. And. And I'd be like, fuck, you know, so I'm not gonna yeah, I'm gonna wait. I'm not gonna drop my money. Wait. Till about 3 days before. Yeah, exactly. Because yeah, I mean love Lenny, but like. These prices are just. Ridiculous. No, neither.

Why? Funnily enough, and I've always wanted to so. Well if I'm back in Sydney then you get you get 2 tickets from work. Let's go. Well, yeah, that's if they, because they've got Metallica tickets as well and everybody's trying to vie for those and it's really hard to to get. So anyway, see how we go. Well. I actually, I do have one more thing which is related to this.

And today I watched Green Day, like Green Day played in Sydney and Melbourne, like I think at the start of March, yes, big shows. It was like the 20th anniversary of American Idiot. It was the 30th anniversary of Dookie, like pretty much their two biggest albums, and they played them both in full, plus more hits. They played like 2 1/2 hour shows. OK, but again, the prices were just out of my range.

Yeah, that I wanted to pay. So today I watched Green Day live at the Isle of Wight Festival, 2024 Isle of Five. It was 2 hour show. Pro shot or like from someone's camera? Pro shot, pro shot, perfect sound. Wow. I think the last time I saw them was the American Idiot Tour, which was in like 2005, and that was at the CGI mean they cannot be a bigger venue, right. Except for like the stadiums now. Yeah. Like they're just too big now. They are.

And just like comedy shows. I don't want to go to, like these massive venues. Yeah, exactly. And and still pay insane money. Yes. Exactly, Yeah. Like if you're cramming 50,000 people in instead of 4000. Yeah, but you think by scale the ticket prices would be less. But no, they're even higher. No, that's where we are now. This is where how they gaslight you, they say, oh, it doesn't matter if you're in the back row and it's the experience that you're paying for. Yeah. Bullshit.

Absolute bullshit. Well, I mean it's true to a degree. Like the experience is shit like. If I want to, if I want to sit at a show friggin 500 metres from the stage and watch the screens, I'll just do that at home. Thanks for nothing. I'll watch a pro SHOT Show like I just did with Green Day for zero money. Right, exactly. Oh my goodness. You're paying for the experience. Yeah, I have a much better experience at home in my comfortable lounge with my big TV and the big sound.

I can pause it, I can go to the bathroom, I can eat food. I can do whatever I want. I don't have to pay $18.00 for a drink. It's beautiful. Is that the experience they're trying to sell you? You can have an $18.00 drink and a $25 meat pie. Yeah. What a what a great day anyway. Oh my, that's. What's good? That's what's good this way. That's what's good. But yeah, I did this. Remember I did this a while ago. I watched a Stevie Wonder show. Yes, I watched. I watched some. I watched.

I watched Guns and Roses not that long ago. That's right. Yeah. That was great. That was a great show. That was in Japan. Yeah, and it was, it was just filmed from like audience camera. But you know, you can get those IEM like hearing assisted things. So they grab full soundboard sound off that, record that, and then put that to their video and it's just the perfect mix and like, oh, amazing stuff. That's great. Matrix. That's what they are. Yeah, Matrix.

Beautiful stuff. Anyway, one more good thing. I saw the trailer, which I didn't want to see, but I I saw a tiny bit of it. A Squid Game Season 3 is coming on my birthday. I thought you were That's gonna. You're avoiding the trailers for the. Spoilers, I didn't know it started and straight away I'm just like no, no, no, get out, get out. I don't want to. I hate it. OK, I hate that. But that's coming June 27th. So if anyone wants to see season 3, it's coming.

I think it's Netflix. Yeah, that's gonna be good. Good. Now it's time for. Well, it's bad this week. Well, I told you it was cold here in the mornings, right? I think yesterday morning was about 3° and I felt like 1. Blue balls. And this was like at 8:00 AM. Yep. And then this morning, I go out to the car, it's about 8:30. It's literally 1°C, feels like -2.4. So I start, I go and boil the water, and then I've got to mix that with cold water so I don't crack the goddamn windows.

The water, Yeah, you got to cook the water. Yeah. Cook the kettle. And so I got all the water ready to clean all the ice off front and back windows so I can see where the hell I'm going, Right. And I did that amazingly. This is not the bad thing. I didn't crack any glass or anything. I did the right temperature, just enough to melt the ice. Yeah. Started the car, got the heater going. Yeah, that's good. Then I did the stupid thing. I put down my window.

Now it's power windows and obviously it was all frozen and it just when it went down, it just made the most awful sound. It was obviously frozen and I just killed it. Oh, I, I just busted the whole thing. So I'm like, I cannot drive around in zero degrees 1°. Yeah, I I managed to get it back up. I had to like, that's what she said, yeah. It was really hard. That's what she said, she said. Got it back up right. Yes. It took a lot of effort. Right. It took both my hands. It's.

There's tablets for that, you know it. Took both hands as hard as I could press it. I finally got it all the way back up and then pushing the pushing the up button and then it finally stayed up. It slipped down a little bit and then I pushed it back up right and it's up. So I just cannot touch it now because it's it's busted. And if it, if I, if I put it down again, I don't know if I it'll go back up. This is sounds like the Griswold car, yeah. I just, I mean, it's a 2009 car, right?

And as far as I know, there's never been an issue with the windows. So it was bound to happen sooner or later. The one on the left, the front window is, is also getting a bit crackly, just like when when you're putting it back up like the last like inch or two, it goes really slowly. OK, I feel that's gonna die eventually soon as well. So I mean I busted the power

window because it was frozen. So, so is it completely cactus or is it are you just going to wait till the where the I think so. Well I'm sure it's due for a service. It's got 180 K service due like now so I'm going to book it in in the next like week or two. Did they check that part of it? Well, I'll tell them to. OK. Like people who live in freezing places, they're probably like, oh, you idiot, of course you don't do that. You don't put the windows down

when it's frozen, right? But we don't get this damn cold. It's not normal. We don't know these things. Yeah, you're not thinking. Like, I know some things like I didn't crack the windows by pouring boiling water on them, right, right. But I didn't know you can't put the goddamn window down. Yeah, because the mechanism was frozen. Jesus. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. So yeah, that's that's one bad thing. And the other thing, Star Trek, Strange New Worlds, we've seen

two seasons. The third season is already done. That's coming out I think at the end of June. Why is this bad? Pretty. Yeah. Well, I'm getting to that. Season 4 has already started production. They've already started filming that. And then the same day that they announced the premiere of Season 3, which I think is like June 20 something, they also announced Season 5 will be the final season. Oh.

So no more. So I mean, you look back at Star Trek Next Generation, Voyager, Deep Space 9, seven seasons, the

lot of them. And then ever since Enterprise in why is it 2001, it started, they got Four Seasons and Evers and then Discovery got 5, Prodigy got 2, Lower Decks got 5. So it seems like 5 now is the maximum they they're going to do because they've said 5's the last and these are only 10 episode seasons, but they said season 5. That's only going to be 6 episodes, so they've even truncated that.

It's like, and it's, it's nothing to do, from what I've read, it's nothing to do with Star Trek or the quality of the show or the ratings. It's just these bigwig, you know, Paramount, whoever's counting the money. Yeah, you know they don't give a crap. Yeah, of course they. Don't they just don't want to spend money on stuff that they don't care about? Yeah, so that's why it's bad, that is. But we've still got two more 10 episode seasons and then a six

episode for the final. So still got 26 more episodes, which is ironically 1 full season of the old Star Trek. Very good. So that's that's what's bad. Oh, the one more thing I just saw Billy Joel cancelled a tour. Yes, because he was diagnosed with a brain disorder. I don't know any more details about that. I just saw a headline. That's not good. No, that's not good. There is so much going on with things like that, but that's all I got for Donald Trump.

Whatever. He did some stupid things, he said some stupid things, World War three, blah blah blah. What's name next, right? Didn't get his Nobel Peace Prize next. That's what he wants he's itching for. It Here we go. What about you? What? What's bad this week? Let me look down my list here. DeMarcus Cousins, No. No idea. Petra Barbagallo. No, no idea. Chris. Brown. No. Well, I know the name but no idea. Here it is this big Air India

flight that did the big crash. Oh, with one survivor. OK, this is where I wanna go with this. Oh, how the hell? How the hell did that guy survive? Like they're talking about he was sitting next to the exit, the plane crash, he got out and like, you look at the footy like the plane's like gliding down and there's this massive explosion and it's like, at what point did he get out? Because the plane's flying? Did he jump out mid flight before it exploded?

And if not, the plane exploded. So how did he get out without barely a scratch on him? I'm trying to figure this out because I can't wrap my head around how that guy like, OK, it's great. Like if this is all true and he survived it, I'm really happy for him. But it's like, how the hell did he survive that? Because, you know, they say that if you're ever gonna actually like that, the best part is to be at the back of the plane.

And those people didn't survive. So how the hell did he just walk away with barely a scratch? I just. I can't fathom. It is. It's very strange. It's very strange. It is very strange. But yeah, I mean, it's a bad thing. I think it was like the electrical systems or something, something. Well, I guess it's still doing their investigations, but apparently, like, the electrical thing was going haywire before takeoff and then it took off and then it just wouldn't stay in

the air. Yeah, I saw that this one guy survived. Then it was just like, I didn't think about it, 'cause I just, I don't think about stuff like that, right? But yeah, now that you say it, it's like, yeah, how, how the hell, how is that even possible? Yeah. Did he like jump out the the second it hit the ground and like a millisecond before it exploded, like the tail ripped off and he just saw a gap and he just jumped like is who's even thinking like that? Yes, exactly. Yeah.

It's like, it's pretty insane. Yeah. Has he even said anything? Like what happened? Yeah, I've seen like he's done interviews and things on like, Indian television. But no details. Well, oh, I just walked away. Pretty much like that was like, you know, I saw a like an opportunity to leave and I did kind of thing while everybody around me was dying. And it's like, OK, I just think it's really weird.

I just want to wrap around my head how he actually like I like to you know how when they do those fancy like animations and graphics of like, I want to see something like how the hell yeah actually happened because show. Me a cartoon of what he actually did right exactly? Because it sounds like he was just walking past the airport, saw the crash and just ran. Well, that's like near the plane. And then he's like, I survived. I survived.

Well, that's the. Thing like apparently he had a ticket like he was on the apparently on the flight. Did he make his flight? Like who knows because I I can't figure out how the hell he walked away very strangely. So that's what's bad this week. That's what's bad this week. That's it, that's it. See, now it's time for What's all that about? What's all that about?

What's all that about? I haven't done this one for a while but when I was in in the city about a few weeks ago I sent you a picture of all these Ding a lings queuing up for something. Was it the McDonald's chicken wings? Oh. No, no, this was something else. This Yeah, that was that was another queue of people who just couldn't wait till tomorrow to eat chicken wings. But but it's a permanent menu item and they're lining up for. It exactly. Yeah. But I sent you a picture.

I was walking around Melbourne Central and, you know, they've got all those shops just selling just dumb crap, just like toys and stuff. And that was hilarious because I was walking past them. I sent you the photo. I had no idea what they were queuing for. And here's my guess at the demographics. It would have been about 89% Asian, mostly male. And then the rest, there would have been a few white people, a few Indian people, again mostly male. And that was The Who was in this queue.

And then like that night or the next day, I started seeing these news articles and it was the exact same queue. But I walked past and took a photo because I recognised the the people and the queue. And it was to buy this dumb la Boo Boo right dumb little toy which. Which was on my my list last week. Yep. Oh, you just say it. I don't know. I see. Then I didn't have a clue what it was. Yeah, I would have said no idea. Yes, you did, he said. No idea. Yeah, la Boo Boo.

No, not a clue. But like, they come in like this sealed bag, you don't even know which which one you're gonna get, right? It's just total lottery. Yes, you'll get one of them out of however many different ones there are. It's like a Pokémon. You don't know what you're gonna get. Yeah, but you just line up and pay your ridiculous money. Yeah, it's like. You don't even know what you're

getting. Yeah. Wow. But also too, like you touched on that, like it's men, like why you don't men into this sort of stuff. It's odd what drives these guys. My first guess is it's for reselling. It's just like sneakers. Yeah. It's not because they're gonna sit at home and stare at it, right? Maybe, maybe the few girls that were in that queue, they wanted to just have a cute little

thing. That's fine, but I. Reckon a big number of these guys, they just, they just want to get it and then it's straight on eBay or wherever they sell all this stuff. Yeah. Because I I don't see them just sitting at home staring at it, right? Or doing other things while they're staring at it. I don't even want to think about it. I heard that they're taking out insurance policies on these things when they put them on their handbags because people are stealing them off handbags.

Yeah, makes sense. No, it doesn't make sense. This is crazy anyway. But yeah, I just, I don't, I don't get it. No, like I'm just trying to think back to when we were teenagers and like, did this sort of thing happen? Like I can't recall like any sort of thing like this, but there has to be something. Do you want to know something that's that's really crazy? You know, here in Sydney, you know, obviously, you know, Pitt St. Mall, Yeah.

You know, there was the Microsoft Store like it was like they flagged. Oh yeah, yeah. Kind of looks like an the Apple Store, but the Microsoft version of it. Yeah, I walked past there last week. It's all boarded up. It's all closed, all boarded up. And it's like a two-story building, right? Like it's high or like glass, you know, and it's all boarded up with wood and all around it. It says Pop Mart. They're turning it into one of

these. Oh my God. Yeah, they're turning it into one of these things that sell these little doll things. So, like, you imagine that like Microsoft like doing so bad that they've had to move out in lieu of these guys. Crazy stuff. What did they even have in the Microsoft Store? They just sold. What do they sell? Phones. What do? They sell, you know, computers, tablets, Xboxes. Tablets and stuff, yeah. Yeah, yeah. And it was just like. Because I mean, they don't even

sell Windows on ACD anymore. It's a bloody it's all digital now. Yeah, but it's also like a place that if you had problems with your computer, you could take it in and, you know, it's like the Genius Bar. Like the Apple? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, it's the same concept, so. Yeah. So yeah, that's what's all that about. I just, I don't understand what's happening. So now it's time for did anybody die? So where do we even start? Right? We had literally finished

recording like the night before. And then the next day I was just about to start editing and then you send me a message. Sly Stones died, right? So that night we got on, we recorded the extra little thing, which you would have heard in the last show. And it just reminded me so many times. That used to happen with Prince.

We literally record a show and like the next morning we'd all wake up and he'd drop some big bloody announcement and forces to record again, Right. He knew when we were recording somehow. Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me. Yes, he had a spy. So then also on the last show, I, I said my thing about who is still alive and I said Brian Wilson, right? The last picture they put up was in April. He, he, he doesn't look great,

right? He's still alive, but you know, he's got advanced dementia at this point. And they, they've just got this like dead look in, in, in the eyes. And I just, I just knew. So then literally the next morning, I get so many messages telling me Brian Wilson has died. I mean, right, first we had Brian Wenzel. The exact same thing happened there. That's. Right. Like, but the the literally the date the show came out, he died and I just said he's still going, he's still alive.

And you know what's really eerie? That they both they're all called Brian and they and their surname starts with W. Oh my God, all I can say is our Brian from the Four Corners. All I can say is he's going to leave her for a very, very long time. Yes, he is 100% guaranteed. You're certain? I'd better not start with AW bro I'd be. I'd be sleeping one night. I'd be getting some life insurance policies, yeah. Exactly. It's. Crazy. So yes, very sadly, legend legendary Beach Boys founder

Ryan Wilson passed away. And also 82. Exactly the same as sliced on. Stone. Yeah. Who? Who died like just days earlier? Yeah, it's crazy. Very crazy. Yeah, I, I knew like I, I, I've seen him once. Yeah. I think it was 2012. They did a 50 tieth anniversary of The Beach Boys starting or whatever. Brian, I don't think Brian at that point had toured with them for like at least 10 years because him and Mike Love do not get on very well. And it's funny.

We talk about, you know, the Prince fandom and like the people in The Beach Boys fandom, so many people hate Mike Love and they love Brian. That's right. It's so funny. But yeah, so I saw him. I saw him do that one great show. And it was a long show. It was like like it was over 2-2, maybe 2 1/2 hours. They literally did like 50 songs. Wow. I might have been under the influence of a a psychedelic something or other which made it so much better.

And I do not regret it at all, because it just made that night so much more like vivid in my memory than it would have been if I hadn't done that. Well, you see, you've, you've talked about concerts where you've gone on Facebook and memories and it's like, I don't even remember attending this show. Exactly, so I think I found the answer I need to be on acid. It's the only answer because I've got great memories of that show. That's. Good. And I was sky high. I just remember.

Oh my God, my eyeballs would have been freaking dinner plates. I just remember when heroes and villains started, I just turned to whoever was next to me. I'm like, how good is this? And they were like, probably scared. And I was just like, this is so freaking great. Oh my God. Ohh. See. And and then, yeah, like you said, other constants come up on Facebook memories that I don't ever remember being there. But this show I remember. Oh my God. That's good. So Brian Wilson. Ohhh. Yeah.

You have a knack of this. You can't be doing this who's still a live segment. Well, because you, you have an uncanny knack for this. Well, this is like a premonition or this isn't the first time. I know it's not the first time. That's what's not. Kiss me about this. I I was actually gonna say this. I think we need to retire. Who is still alive. It's too. It's just too dangerous. This it is. This power is not. It's too dangerous. It is. I think Brian Wilson was the

fine straw. All I can say is Queen guitarist Brian May. I hope you live a a long and healthy life. Stevie Bryant, a lot of them, yeah. Just Brian's who? Who else is Brian right I can only think of. Brian mate, Well, Brian mate like he's surname doesn't start with the W so. Oh. Still, I don't. I don't trust it. I don't trust it but. If you flip the mate, the M in M. Flip the M upside down. It's AW. So no. I think that'll be the last time we'll hear about who is still

alive. Another retired segment. OK, another one. Anyone, well, any, anyone who pays attention to the credits of TV shows like me, whoever watched The Simpsons will know the name Alf Clausen. He was the composer for all that music from seasons 2 through to 28. Never hang all those strings, all that music he directed, all that stuff. How many seasons in total is there of The Simpsons? Now I think they're about 3536 maybe.

OK, I heard a story something a long time, not a long time ago, maybe even the last year where he was suing. Was he suing The Simpsons because they got rid of him because AI had all the OR something? Oh yeah, I did. Is that a? Is that a true story? Partly, right. I, I didn't read all the details, but there was, yeah, some issue with 'cause he, he left in 2017. He left, he was there, they got rid. Of him, well, that's unclear, right? That's probably under NNDAS. OK.

Yeah, but yeah, there was some issue with payments coming or not coming. There you go. But yeah, he was there from 1990 to 2017, right? He was 84 when he died. Like, I always watched every name in the credits when I was a kid. And I always saw Alf Clausen. Music by Alf Clausen. There you go. So that's that's not great. What about you, anybody? Yes, and then the Lewis now she was the MTVVJ that well she was on the rave DVD. She was around the rave era when.

Allegedly dating Prince around that. Time, yeah. 2002 thousand one or something on. It 1999 two thousand yeah, when yeah, the relationship, my situation was quite murky around that time. Yes, very, very. It seemed like Mai Tai was sort of gone, but then Manuela would may may have been around. So yeah. Yeah, she was there, Yeah. And then, yeah, I think he was. He was a busy boy around this time. And. Oh. Well, he he had to get some use out of that blue latex jumpsuit. Didn't he?

He needed someone to zip it up at the back. Yeah. So yeah, he needed some help getting out of it. He couldn't do it by himself. Yeah, but Anna Lewis, she. She was only 50. Two, yeah, she was very young and it was breast cancer, but I always liked her. She was really good. Like I just liked her, her vibe and her demeanour and just the way she carried herself. Now I really liked her. It was sad to see her 'cause she's only like a couple of years older than me. It's quite shocking.

Yeah, 52. Wow. So. So that was did anybody die? Hi. Anniversaries in 2000 and 1015. Years ago, Gary Coleman died. That's been 42. Jeez, 15 years. Yeah. Did you say 10 or 1515? It was 2000. And. Ten. Oh God. That's the 10. Do you remember that story? He, like, had a seizure. Yeah. And then he fell down the stairs and bashed his head. And then he got like a brain hemorrhage from like bashing his head. Supposedly. Allegedly. And then he died from that. And then he was on like life

support. And then I think go going against his wishes. Whoever his partner was at the time, she was like, no, no, turn him off. Turn him off. Yeah, Yeah, exactly. So yeah, there was yeah. And the family were like, what's going on here? Because the police ruled it all is nothing suspicious. Like, it wasn't much that they could do. So it was really again, just messy, so messy. Yeah, it was alleged that the wife, like, pushed him down the stairs.

But her story was, oh, he had a seizure at the top of the stairs and he fell down. And it was like, well, what side of the story is true? And you know, no one, no one can sort of. You know, it's all hearsay, really. So how are you supposed to know? God, I need to go and watch some different. Strokes, what a show. It's a good show.

What a show. So also another good show was The Golden Girls and also in 2010 Rue McClanahan, who was Blanche. Wow. 15 years ago, died at 76, I. Can't believe it all this is 15 years. And she also had a, according to the death certificate, a brain. Hemorrhage at the top of the stage, but that was. Caused by a massive stroke, but oh, God, Golden Girls was such a good show as well. Yeah, good show. So now it's time for recommendations. I need a recommendation.

Do you have a recommendation? What's your recommendation? Recommendations. OK, I think I already sent you this song. It's called Universe by Daesung. DAESUNG. The universe. Got it. There we go. He's one of the members of Big Bang. But this is a solo song. It's just a good song. And he or he can sing and his big key change near the end, which is always great. Wow. It's, yeah, it's it's a good song.

All right, so there's that one. And there's a song by Super Jesus called Gangbusters off their new album. Out of the 10 tracks on that album, this is the funky one. Yeah. It's got some funky guitar stuff in it. And it's it's just good. And obviously Brian Wilson, Heroes and Villains on that. It's one of my favorite songs. Listen to it on acid, yeah. Yeah, if you really want to get the full effect, listen to Heroes and Villains by Brian Wilson.

That if you want, you can listen to the whole Smile album from 2004 because it's just amazing. You gotta listen to any Beach Boys. They're all good. But if you want Brian Wilson's solo album, I'd say Smile or that lucky old song. That's also a good album. And the last recommendation I've got, it's by it's a podcast actually, and it's called, what is it the the Peach and Black

podcast. They did a a Batman review and there's like a remastered version of of a very old of a very old podcast from 2010, I think. No, no, it'll be 2009. OK. And you know, there's only so much you can do with the 2009 Skype call, but it's it's listenable, right? It's a lot better than it used to be. I'll say that much. So, yeah, have a listen to that. It's on. It's on. It's in all the places, Spotify, whatever. Yeah. And that's all I got. That's all You got recommendations?

What have I got? I have got Brian Coupleson and Marcus Miller and Sheila E. The song is called on the. Road I. Cannot bring it up. That just reminds me of The Doobie Brothers new album. It's called Walk This Road and the the single is called Walk This Road, featuring Mavis Staples. So on the road, I'm going to add that to the playlist. Your next one is by Maya. She has a track out and it's very 80s sounding. Maya the the twins No. No, no. Maya and Nandy.

That's the only Maya Reina. The track is called Give It to You, so we're going to give it to you in the playlist. Added Now Winfrey has a new track out called It's Serious. That's like a West Coast sounding song. Why so serious? Yeah. So that was recommendations. Yo, so now it's time for emails, yeah? Plus. E-mail. Oh, emails. We've got an e-mail. This is from Rowan, He says Hi, captain and player. Hey Rowan, I'll break up this e-mail into three parts. First part, theme songs.

After listening to all of the theme songs, the best one is the one you already have. No further comments needed there. OK, so that's that's that's already decided that the music's not changing. That's yeah. Which is what I guessed on about the third track. You're right, it was worth doing that well. It was good fun.

Second part musicals. After listening to Captain discuss his love of Les Mis, I completely resonated with the feeling of having just one musical that you love, having seen a bunch of others and not really considering yourself as a musical person. Overall.

I have this feeling with Hamilton the Musical, having seen it in person three times, once in Melbourne and twice in London, having listened to the cast recordings a bunch of times and watched the filmed recording of the performance countless times. I've seen musical since and they're fine, but didn't really connect with me like Hamilton did, and I wonder if anyone else out there, potentially in the four corners of the globe, have the same experience.

Interesting. Well, I want to go and see Hamilton. I've I've never had the opportunity to because when it first started to show in Sydney, like you couldn't get tickets. Oh, it was booked out forever. The yeah, ticket prices were inside and. Then I think that was like pre COVID and then I think it went into COVID and then the production disappeared and then it came back. But then I don't know. But I never got around to it. It wasn't like to see that long ago. I like to see it after they

finished here. I don't know where they went or they might have just stopped, I don't know. OK, the third part. Analysis of Super Chucker Mania playlist? I wanted to do an analysis of the Super Chuckle Mania Spotify playlist and see if there were any interesting statistics to be gained from the playlist with the help of ChatGPT, something it seems it can actually do, and pass them along to see if it's of any interest. Oh, I'd like to know what the prompt is.

At the time of writing, there were 329 songs in the playlist. Wow, that's a lot. As the information comes from Spotify, I can't guarantee that all the data for a decade especially is valid, as, for example, the INXS song was included with the release date of 2021 as it was a demo that wasn't released until then, but it's good enough. OK, so there's a bunch of these graphs here. So genres, the top 10 most common genres #1K pop, like more

than double anything. Yeah. Second. OK, I'll tell you numbers. This is on a scale from zero to 70. So K pop is like 72. And then we have jazz funk, that's like 33, right? And then we've got G funk at 30. Yep. And then we've got funk at about 27 and funk rock 19. Jam band about 18 new disco 12 West Coast hip hop 12 old school hip hop 11, hip hop 11. So that's a 10. There's AK pop kills everything and then all the rest is yours. Yeah.

So 10 most common artists. Now this is this is totally skewed because K pop it's it's always a different artist. So you have recommended lettuce like 17 times? You know, I don't believe that. Yeah, I'm not saying it's not true. I remember like 3. Yeah, same. I I might have like my recollection about 3. Times you might have said like 2 songs at one time or something, I don't know, maybe. But then yeah, that, that kills. Everything the figures but I'm just doubting my own self I guess.

Then we got Harry Styles at 13. OK. So yeah, I don't know if that's right. Because you know why? I'll tell you why. Because I think you that time that you listened to that album, you recommended the whole album. So I think I put the whole album. In Oh my God. OK, that's. Why? That's why there's 13 tracks. Yeah, OK. Not you might have. Recommended a whole album for Lettuce, same thing. Maybe you could? Have had one album and then like yeah, three other songs done

right. Then we got Sugar Free at 5 twice at 5:00. Yeah, that sounds right. The weekend at 4 Chromeo 4, Diamond Ortiz 4, Mamamoo 4, Anderson Park 4, Joby 4 there. You go. OK, so there's that then we've got. This is interesting stats. This is like the Peach and Black podcast. Of songs by decade. So by far in the twenty 20s where like 250 tracks, yeah. When I pick the songs, I try and pick like the things that have come out within the last. Week you pick new stuff, yeah.

Yeah, yeah, you pick the older stuff. Like yeah, that ones like way up to 250 and all the rest are around like 20 to 30. Like yeah, 2010's got about 20 songs. The 2000s got about ten. 1990s got about twenty. 1980s got about fifteen, 1970s got about three 1960s got like one or two. Yeah, 2020, the 2020 decade, 250, that was a big one because yeah, mostly new stuff, even the K pops, mostly new stuff. Yeah, explicit versus non explicit songs according to Spotify, explicit 9.4%, not

explicit 90.60. Well, that just proves that we're recommending clean stuff. We are good, clean boys. Right. That's what we're not sending out these these naughty words right now. This was an interesting one. Distribution of songs by Musical Key. At like what's what's at like most popular key? At like 48 songs F, there's 48 songs that were in F and that's like way ahead. It's just a pop. You'd think it would be C because everyone just starts playing piano in C. C. Yeah.

But no, F that's really interesting. And then sort of tied, you've got no. So that was about 48. And then at like 36 you've got a tie between A and like C#, which is again interesting. But then, but then like, I won't go through all of these, you know, there's however many but down with only like 2 or probably 3E flat. Yeah, and it is and makes sense. Yeah, it does, yeah. 'Cause when you go to play a piano, that's probably the last one you're gonna start on. It just. Is it just.

Is yeah, yeah. It's just a fact, yeah. And the second lowest is a flat G# also, yeah, like the least the the the two least ones you would ever think. I'm gonna start here, start a song. This is the this is the main thing for this song. No, that's interesting. And then we got major versus minor key songs. Major 60.5, minor 39.5. Yeah. I mean pretty much all the K pops gonna be major. Exactly. Mostly it's all just happy rubbish. Yeah. Oh, there's one more song length

and yeah, obviously 22 to 3:00. Minutes. Yeah, they start, most of them go from 2:40 to about 4:30 with the most common 320. And that's just K pop. Every K pop song is between like 3 minutes and 3:30. Yeah. Because that's just, that's just what they do. And that is exactly what the numbers say. Like 250 to 340 are the highest ones. Yeah, there was one song at 7:20. What's that? Hey Jude? That's like 720. OK, that was something like that. Well, didn't, didn't Hey Jude have at the time?

It was like the longest single ever released or something. Yeah. I I. I remember hearing that it is quite long. That's what she said. So that's that's that. So that's, that's the e-mail from Rowan. Holy moly. Thank you, Rowan. Thank you for the analysis. There's your stats. Yeah. It doesn't get any better than that. So that. That's the e-mail. Thank you, Rowan. Thank you. So what did we learn this week? I learned. I need to stop saying you know

who's still alive. Yes, because it usually doesn't end well. Well, not usually, but 2 is more than enough. 2 Brians. I'm not pushing that. One more. No thank you. Don't. Push the luck. We'll just let's just stick to those that actually have passed away. Did anybody die? If anyone's still alive, well, we don't need to know. Yeah. Oh, my God. That's what I learned. I'm just, I'm just gonna that that that segment is officially retired.

Yeah. Good. It's too scary because you have an uncanny knack for that. And you know what? Do you know what? And it wasn't just those two that those. Were the things that. Were right immediately after I said it like it literally happened within a day. But there was also Bob Newhart. There was Bob Newhart, yeah. And there was Jimmy Carter. Both of those we said they've

got that look in their eyes. They've got that look in their face and I I reckon both of them it was only a few weeks maybe a month later. So yeah, it's not we can't keep doing this predicting. No, no, it's not good. It's it's what's it called? Like Deadpool or something? Is that what they Is that what it? Is there's a name for it? OK. I think so. It's a it's a morbid game to play, especially when you win, because when you win, nobody wins. Right, that's one gambling it's.

Like the end? What about you? What did you learn well? I learned that there's a there's a new Doobie Brothers album. And yes, I learned that this road, if you're gonna sit on a plane, sit near the exit and not near the back if you want a chance to survive. We'll sit near the back exit. Wow. Depending on the plane, you know, a lot of the smaller ones, you go on your rubbish, like Jetstar and stuff. They've got the exit front and back. You want to sit at the back near the door?

Yeah, that's your, that's your best chance. Anyway, that was super chuckle mania if the world doesn't end courtesy of the Orange Clown. You'll see or you'll hear from us next time. TuneIn, then and. Yeah, if, if we're all still alive, we'll be back in the future, the future, the future. Bye bye everyone, bye, bye, bye. 58.
