Episode two, three Seven. This week on the Late NIght Internet Marketing Podcast, we asked the question is AI taking over the content industry? Actually, AI created that title for this podcast, all this and more on the Late NIght Internet Marketing Podcast. The Late NIght Internet Marketing Podcast. You've been working for somebody else, but you want a business to run yourself. You want know how to start? Where to begin. Can you get out your comfort zone?

My friend, yes, you can do it right when it's late at night. At the end of the day, your dreams decides keep it up. And you'll find that you build in your business one night time. And now broadcasting late at night from a little studio in the big state of Texas. Your host, your host, Mark Mason, Mason. Hey. Hey. How is everyone doing? I am your host, Mark Mason, coming to you from.

The little studio in Dallas, Texas, and this topic of AI came from longtime listener, Kent, shout out to Kent in Texas who asked me on YouTube about what I thought about AI. In fact, you can check out my YouTube channel at late night. im.com/. Anyway, I wanted to break down this question of AI and try and understand what, what is the future of AI. We've been talking about AI in terms of SEO for a long time.

And I think recently one of the concerns people have had is what the role of artificial intelligence. Will be when it comes to creating content, we got lots of software online. Now that claims to write using artificial intelligence. And recently I've seen software that if you give. A script, potentially a script that's also written by AI that that software will create an AI voiceover and an AI animated video, or even, uh, using appropriate stock video that it chooses automatically.

And so the question is, can this content be ranked. Is this content, the kind of content that you can actually use in order to build a business online, eliminating the need for guys like me, quite frankly, who try to make sense out of things and create interesting content for you to enjoy. I. There's a couple of things that are interesting about this, but I thought one of the really interesting things we could do is actually try to do that with this podcast episode.

So I've got a couple of thoughts about AI and where this is going to headed, and then we're going to. In the second half of the podcast episode, actually let the AI take over the rest of the episode. So I thought this would be really interesting. So here are my thoughts. I played with these AI tools, particularly the tool that used to be called Jarvis. And I guess that upset Marvel studios probably is my guess. Now it's called Jasper.

And recently I've settled on a tool that was recommended to me by my good friend cam Kim. And I also had an interesting conversation about AI because he is actually a writer and has written many Kindle books. And he wonders if someday he will be completely obsolete by AI technology. In any case, I have been. Using this tool called word hero, and that's the tool we're going to use for our experiment today. It's a cool tool that cam turned me onto.

And I like it because it seems to work as well as Jarvis, at least in my way of thinking. As well as Jasper for the kind of use cases that I've tested, but it's considerably less expensive. Jasper's really expensive. And one of the things that makes it interesting for me is right now, there's a lifetime offer on word hero. So if you're interested in this thing, you can go to late night. I. Forward slash word hero and I've linked directly to that special lifetime offer.

I think eventually they'll go back to the subscription model. In fact, you can get the subscription model now, but the lifetime offer is a really good deal. And again, you can find that at late night, im.com/word hero. So first before we turn the podcast over to the artificial bot, I'd like to talk a little bit about what I actually think about the role of artificial intelligence in the future. First of all, what is the source for artificial intelligence content to begin with?

To my understanding, the way these bots work is they build databases of things that have already been created on the internet. And then they use. Natural language models to rewrite things that already exist. And to me, what this means is in general, these tools are not capable of original thought. So the worry that at least at this point, artificial intelligence will take the place of content creators that are creating original, unique thought.

which you could argue is the best kind of content online. I, I'm not concerned about that. I do believe that this, these AI bots will definitely take the place of content creators that create things like listicals and. Content that relies on research that they do, where they go on the internet and look at what other people have already written and create articles based on that, which a lot of content creators do. Exactly.

That I think AI definitely will start to take the place of those sorts of content, creators, content, creators, that aren't really creating new thoughts, but they're summarizing other, people's thinking. Those kind of content creators will be the first kind of content creators that will be, uh, in a position to be displaced by AI technology. I think one of the interesting things is it really enables.

People from other countries that work under different wage structures to be able to create content that is more appropriate for the us market. So right now it's pretty hard to hire someone. From the Philippines, for example, or from India that can write content. That sounds like it was written by a native us speaker because in the case of Indian speakers, they're influenced by British English because of the British occupation of India and how that influenced their English language development.

And of course the structure of their native language, whichever one they speak in India can affect subtle things about the way they write and similar things are true in the Philippines. Even for the best speakers, you can tell these subtle differences, but with AI, AI is drawing from material that ostensibly was written by many native English speakers, and it just sounds more native American English.

And so I think this will be a nice boon for, uh, non-native English speakers to be able to write more and more content for the us market. So it's nice in that way. The other thing I would say about the evolution of AI is that what I've experienced and what you'll see as we do our experiment, as we turn the podcast over to the artificial intelligence bot, is that we. Really need to guide the AI and help it understand exactly what it is that we're trying to do left to its own devices.

It just goes crazy. So, I mean, not really crazy, just spews out a bunch of unconnected thoughts. And again, I think this is this idea of. The AI right now can synthesize things that it's read, but it doesn't really understand yet, at least in my opinion, the way to put thoughts together, to make a point to way to construct arguments, to support an idea, these kinds of logical thinking behaviors are not yet within the capability of these artificial intelligence tools online.

With that said, I think it'd be interesting to see what we can do about creating a podcast with artificial intelligence. So the first thing we're going to do, we don't really have pod tools inside the inside of word hero. So I guess. I guess first, all we can do is talk about word hero. So what does word hero do? Word hero has many tools. I'd say there are probably 40 or 50 different tools that you can use in order to create automated content. It has.

For example, some of the tools at randomist has an analogy provider. It has a blog intro widget. It has a blog paragraph creator. It has a cold email creator, a fictional story idea, generator, a grammar corrector, a sentence expander, a startup value proposition tool, a video ideas tool, a video titles tool.

So, what we're going to do here is we're going to go through the motions of what we would do if we were going to do an AI podcast. So the first thing we'd need to do is come up with a title for the show and there aren't podcast tools inside of word hero. But there are blog tools and video tools and somehow a podcast is one of those two. So if we look at video, I like video the video tools, uh, because they, they tend to be more spunky. So let's get some video title ideas.

So we are doing a podcast about how AI will impact the content. Creation industry. Okay. And I'm gonna ask the AI tool to gimme some titles based on that. And it says. Is AI taking over the content industry. Now you can see how great a YouTube thumbnail would be with that with some guy going, ah, you know, just trying to, uh, worried about how pulling his hair out, maybe worried about how his job was going away because of the impact to the content creation industry.

How is AI changing the content? In creation industry AI's impact on the content creation industry. AI is the new black. I have no idea, uh, you know, orange, I thought orange was the new black. I have no idea what that is. Pushing content creators to be better. AI will change the way we create content. Now that you know, you can combine these. And I think is AI taking over the content creation industry, uh, is a pretty good title for video.

So let's keep that let's keep is AI taking over the content creation industry and let's make that our title now inside of word hero. There's this I think amazing tool. Called the long form editor that I find very useful for this sort of thing. So we're going to put our title in here is AI taking over the content creation industry. That's our title and what we need is an introduction for this. And so it turns out there's a blog introduction tool inside. Uh, word hero.

And so we click the blog in intro tab and we hit paste and we hope that we get some content that would be suitable for our podcast. So it takes two or three or five seconds and it comes up with three possibilities that might be useful. In this sort of application. So here we go, here is an, uh, I'll just pick one at random. The content creation industry is under threat with the rise of artificial intelligence, many jobs that were once done by human beings are now being done by machines.

This trend is only going to continue and it raises the question. Is AI taking over the content? There are many advantages to using AI, to create content for one, it can be produced faster and more cheaply than if humans were doing it. And it turns out this, uh, editor has this cool feature that if you like where it's going, you can hit this little pencil and it'll keep going. It's the right more button. And so you hit this button and it will write more. So there it goes.

So it finished off and it said there are many advantages to using AI, to create content for one, it can be produced faster and more cheaply than if humans were doing it. I said write more and it said it can also be done with more accuracy and consistency. The content being produced is at a higher quality than what humans typically produce. AI can also go beyond writing copy and it can even create designs for graphics as well.

So that's a pretty good introduction to our podcast about whether or not AI is taking over the content industry. You know, pretty cool. So in order to do a whole show, though, we really kind of need an outline to support what we're going to do. So here in the long form editor, we've got an outline tool and we can smash the outline tool and it will give us some ideas for blog outlines. So it says, Hey, here's an introduction. What is AI? How is AI changing the content industry?

The advantages of using AI in the content industry, the disadvantages of using AI in the content industry and the future of the content industry with AI and a conclusion that's a pretty solid outline. I mean, if you really covered all that in a blog post, that's a logical. You know, kind of outline that you, you could use. And so. We've already got an introduction up here. And so we don't really need that part of the outline.

And here in this editor, we can give this, uh, an H two tag, like we might expect to be able to, and then we've got this first topic. What is AI? So how do we figure out what is AI? Well, we. We hit the rocket ship button. Of course. What else would you do? So there's a rocket ship button here that generates blog paragraphs. So if we hit the rocket ship button, then we can generate. A paragraph that answers this question around what is AI. So here's what it has to say.

AI or artificial intelligence is a hot topic in the content industry. Right now, many people are worried. AI might take over human jobs. But others see it as, as a way to in enhance human creativity. So what is AI and how could it affect the content industry? AI is a branch of computer science that deals with creating intelligent machines. It's been around for centuries, but it's only in recent years that AI has become more sophisticated. There are different types of AI.

But all aim to create machines that can think and learn like humans. Some people see AI as a threat to human jobs. They worry that AI will eventually be able to do everything better than us and that we will become obsolete. However, others believe that AI can enhance human creativity. Again, that's a pretty good start at a description of what AI is now. I would like something a little more technical. And what I can do is I can create a blog outline with the subtitle. What is AI?

And if I ask it to do that for me, it will come up with an outline for what is AI, the history of AI. How is AI used today? The future of AI as, as. Ideas for how to expand this. So the history of AI, that's a pretty good idea, right? I mean maybe when I talk about what is AI, I should talk about the history of AI. So I can, uh, highlight the history of AI and I can hit the, uh, the rocket ship and sure enough, here goes the rocket ship.

And it'll tell me about the history of AI and here's what it has to. The history of AI is a long and complicated one dating back to ancient Greece in the modern era. AI research began in earnest in the fifties with early successes, including the creation of the first chat bot, Eliza. However it wasn't until the 1980s that AI really began to take off. Thanks to advances in computer hardware and software.

Since then, AI has made incredible progress with applications ranging from self-driving cars to medical diagnosis. AI's history's intertwined with that of artificial intelligence with seeks to create intelligent machine. AI was founded as an academic discipline in 1956 at a conference on cybernetics. Some of the pioneers of AI were also members of the British cybernetic society, which published a journal called Cybera. Okay. So I think you get the idea.

One interesting thing about this whole AI content generation thing is I, I feel like some of this stuff needs to be fact checked. There were a lot of facts there in the history of AI content that are very interesting and sound great. And I'm sure they're mostly true. for all I know they're not true. And so that's probably another challenge we're going to have with artificial intelligence content creation. We already have that challenge.

Now people say things that aren't exactly true, or either intentionally or unintentionally propagate incorrect facts. But I think with. AI, there's no one wondering, you know, people that are interested in keeping facts. Correct. And in the veracity of the things that they say, they're not in the loop, it's all AI. And I don't think AI cares about whether or not what it says is true. So it's relying on the veracity of its source material, which is the internet.

And as we know, there's a lot of stuff on the internet that's incorrect. It would be really interesting. To do an experiment with AI where you were generating content about Donald Trump. And if you could get the AI to create an article that was relatively negative about Donald Trump and one that was relatively positive. One that drew on content from supporters of Trump in a separate article that drew on, uh, content from detractors.

And compare the facts in those articles to see if indeed facts that were directly in conflict over particular issues would show up. I bet. I bet they would because AI is really just synthesizing things that we find on the internet and with a polarizing topic like Trump or COVID, or, you know, pick a topic, right. You have all of this. Fake and real news media com competing for space on the internet. And I'm, I, I would bet the AI's not all that great in ascertaining. What's real and what's fake.

So that'd be another thing to watch out for, but. Used in a way that makes sense, like to overcome writer's block or to get ideas for content or to help with outlines or to understand what it is that other people are talking about. I think these AI tools are really good. There are other components to this AI engine, lots of interesting things like copywriting formulas that are, that are programmed into the AI, where it understands.

maybe a copywriting step, like a, I D a or one of the other copywriting formulas. And it will pull in content that fits that formula step by step. I think those kind of things can be really helpful. There's idea, generators for things like brand name ideas, or expanding bullet points, or finding descriptive expressions or taking a concept and explaining it to a child. All of these things are things that word hero. Claims to be able to do.

I haven't tested all of 'em, but they all sort of work as advertised the ones that I have tested. There's a fact generator and a features to benefits generator. You've heard me talk about this many times on the podcast where a lot of times I see people in marketing talking about features. My car has a 475 horsepower engine. That's a feature. The, the benefit is what you want to talk about. It, my car has a 475 horsepower engine, so that when I drive, I feel like I'm in an amusement park.

You know, it's, it's that, what's the benefit of having that feature. It's got AI engines that do that. It's got AI food recipe engines where I, I haven't played with this very much, but you can give it a dish and it will use AI to generate the recipe. That's pretty interesting. And of course there are other things that are useful. A Google ads, generator. I definitely plan to test this one.

I'm running a lot of Google ads in another part of my business that we'll be talking about in future episodes. And so there's lots of things, product stories, and sales page headlines and guarantees and sales page, openers and social media bios, and just all kinds of things that. Maybe as a writer, you are not used to writing those. And so you need a place to start. And I think, uh, I guess that's really the bottom line for me on AI. I think it really provides an amazing place to start.

If you're going to go from, start to finish without editing with AI tools, I think that's gonna be a little problematic, both philosophically and, and just as a practical matter, it's gonna be a problem. Right. But this tool is great. Word hero is really neat. I'm gonna try and use this more and more and maybe have my VA use it as well to. Her generate, podcast show notes and descriptions and so forth as we figure out how to use this tool. So that's what I have for you today.

I hope you're having an absolutely fantastic and amazing week. And until next week, chow.

RODECaster Pro Stereo-2

Okay, so this is really funny. So one of the things, this word hero AI thing has is a song generator. And a song, lyric generator, mind you doesn't generate the music, but it generates the song lyrics. And I thought it would be funny. You know, I had the, Late NIght Internet Marketing song, which I've had for years was written by an amazing guy named Jeff Smith. You can find him at the Jeff Smith. He's an incredibly talented musician writer of jingles and songs.

And is, has millions of hours performing in doling piano bar situations. I mean, so the guys just like, you have to be really talented to do that, by the way, if you've never been to a doling piano bar, that's gotta be one of the most challenging musical endeavors you can go on because it's just like war and music altogether. Heckling and I mean, it's just amazing, but anyway, um, Jeff Smith is amazing and the Late NIght Internet Marketing song is amazing.

I'll play it here at the end on the way out. So I asked the AI to generate some lyrics for a song and the prompt that I gave it was. Starting your own internet business online part-time and I said, Hey, write for me. It's a button, a button. The call to action is right for me. And in 35 seconds, it came back and said, not even 35 seconds, it came back and said, I'm making my own way. Gonna start my own business online part-time at first, but I know I can do it.

I'm gonna be my own boss and make my own hours gonna make some extra cash on the side while I'm working towards my dreams. It's not gonna be easy, but nothing worth doing ever is I'm gonna have to hustle and grind every day, but it'll all be worth it in the end when I'm my own boss and making my own schedule, I can't wait to get started on this journey. It's gonna be a lot of work, but I know I can do it. So that's kind of interesting, you can hear the meter there.

I think it could rhyme better, but Hey, it's a song written by AI. So maybe radio people are in trouble too. I don't know until next week, chow.
