Amazing Spider-Man #1 (1963)
Spider-Man has made it!! He now has his own book! After the numbers came in for Amazing Fantasy #15, it was deemed a success and the higher ups at Marvel told Stan Lee and Steve Ditko to get cracking. We do have some growing pains at first though;
- No hyphen is Spider-Man many times
- Who the hell is Peter Palmer!?!?!?!?!
Despite this there's still a lot to love in this issue. Peter needs cash so he goes to see the Fantastic Four for a payday and sitcom level misunderstandings ensue!
In part 2 (yes, we get 2 parts in the early issues!!!) Spidey faces his first Super-Villain, The Chameleon!!! That damn commie is trying to steal military secrets and the only one who can stop him is Spider-Man.
We also get the introduction to perhaps the most important (or at least hilarious) Spider-Man supporting character, his boss and owner of NOW magazine (later the Daily Bugle), Mr. J Jonah Jameson. The family here at Web Tales are going to have a lot of fun with this guy.
The adventure begins here!!1
