We are nearly at the half way month for January, the nights are long, the days short and there is a distinct lack of festive lights. This can be a tricky time to keep going with the new years resolutions you may have set, or the ambitious goals you decided for yourself and now your whole ability to focus on what you set out to do can start to feel a little less enthusiastic than how you felt when you first started. And that is completely normal.
In this solo episode I’ll be sharing you some goal setting tips that work for me and I hope that it can inspire and help you set out your purpose driven goals. Enjoy tuning in!
Key Takeaways
Write down the intentions you have for the 12 months ahead. By writing down your intentions acts as an accountability tool. You can also write a letter to your future self, do it from the perspective of celebrating and congratulating yourself of the fact that you have achieved your goals for the year.
When we connect emotionally to our intentions and to the goals that we are setting, it is then that we create the real desire around what we're doing, and on why you were doing it. And it becomes something we want to move towards instead of trying to move away from.
Try to do new things. By discovering and trying something new moves you out of your comfort zone and allows you to see the art of possible.
Connect with yourself and vive yourself time to reflect. Ask yourself and answer with whole honesty – What am I doing? Why am I doing it? What is the result I want? And where are the gaps that stop me from getting what I want?
If you are feeling you're being pulled in all sorts of directions at the moment with regards to resolutions and goal setting, and words of the year, etc. What I would suggest right now is to just stop, take a deep breath, and just be you. Because when we are acting in complete integrity in who we are, then we have a much greater ability to work out what is right for us, and what isn't right for us.
As you set out your goals for the year, do it all in a position of gratitude. Recognise the opportunity to create more of what you want, to not judge and be kind to yourself in whatever point in your journey you find yourself at the moment. Just stop, take a deep breath and just be you. The best gift to give yourself is to be the best you that it's possible to be.
