Do visit the new website of UnLearn With Prasanna and share your feedback: 🕸 https://www.unlearnwithprasanna.com https://www.unlearnwithprasanna.com/#... 🎙PODCAST: THIRTEEN13 : https://www.13podcast.com/ 🗞 Newsletter:https://www.linkedin.com/newsletters/... ✍️ Mindful Writing : Tweets @unlearnprasanna Transcript : hello and welcome to unlearned podcast we all know the importance of mindfulness and we want to learn more about it but before we learn we have to unlearn some of the myths some of the misunderstandings around that topic I will read one quote from a book and then I will give you more context about our today's guest so the quote is mindfulness is not about change it's about changeability it is about an openness to change whenever life takes repetitive wrong turns now this message or quote is from the book mindfulness connecting with the real you and this book is written by vinay dabulkar who is Going to Be Our Guest today I know vinay for many years now and I have been a beneficiary of his programs his workshops his training programs especially related to mindfulness Innovation design thinking and he is an expert on these topics in this conversation with vinay we start from what exactly is mindfulness what are some of the myths around it then a person wants to start mindfulness but what are the obstacles what are the things which come in our way and how to overcome those we also touch upon how mindfulness can help for parents and especially how it can help them inculcate this Habit in their kids so that topic also will touch to a little extent and from there on we move into the area of what vinay calls as Innovation stamina so inside of innovation stamina of course we look at curiosity stamina building communications stamina building so very interesting topics both for individuals as well as organizations but before we start or do all that let me quickly request vinay to introduce himself and get started hey um prasanna it is really a pleasure to be uh here with you um you know I don't know we might probably three years ago I'm not so sure perhaps in Mumbai or in Bangalore and uh it's a little bit about myself first I'm a consultant teacher and author working in three areas one is innovation stamina um second is design thinking and third is mindfulness um you know as part of Consulting engagements I conduct workshops and sometimes engage in long-term projects with companies ngos government and as a teacher I teach a course at I am Bangalore on management of technology and Innovation and also at IIT Bombay in the School of Entrepreneurship on management of innovation um and I conduct workshops on mindfulness and I've written these two books one co-authored with a colleague it's called eight steps to Innovation going from jugaad to Excellence and another book which is mindfulness connecting with the real you and I've been doing this for the last 16 years and prior to that I worked in IIT industry for a decade yeah is that okay thank you thank you for sharing that and we will be going into a little bit more about your personal Journey as we proceed but first
