When Winters is promoted (because he is the greatest of all time, and it's noticed by his superiors), Easy is given a new CO, "Moose" Heyliger, who leads a successful rescue mission of 140 British soldiers before being seriously injured in what surely was called "friendly fire" but was actually a jumpy soldier not waiting to confirm identity before shooting.
