Ep. 36 - Like in an Anime

Game of it's weird. No, we we we we try and do anime things here. We try it's basically an anime here on the show. And we have a really good time. It's a good time. It is. It is described as anime af Lancer. We play the Lancer RPG here. Uh, and we're in We're in Mecca, We're in mex it's a good

time. It's a fun time most of the time. Uh. There's been a fairly bit of there's there's been like a lot of traumatic experiences as of late for the player characters, however, and I'm alright with that because I'm the GM and I'm making it all happen, So that's fine. With me. I'm good, I'm good. How's everybody doing today? Did you have you been having a good time playing Metal Gear Brand have off that series almost as much as I love the fun and friends of the series. That's suck

class, suck class. It's so weird watching you play Metal Gear Solid for because that's the only one that I've played. Oh damn really yeah, And I just don't remember crawling that much. I think I ramboed my way through because I didn't understand, like what terrific the king. I have a friend that ramboed his white through and if you killed too many people, snake like stop. I think I remember that, Like it's like the game it was fun when I played it, but like I didn't I was never part of

the metal Gear hype because I didn't have a PlayStation. Yeah, so it was like service was lost on you in that one man. Yeah, So it was just like a weird experience for me and watching you play. I don't remember there being that much crawling, Like I was like, well, I'm crawling. I'll tell you why I'm crawling everywhere because he lean you can you can kind of crouch and be relatively hidden as well. But because he's all old. He like stops every now and then and goes, ah,

I just can't do it. It makes me feel too sad. So I crawl everywhere so it activates my back pain. Yeah, that thing. So yeah, I've been I've just been crawling through the whole thing. Also, you have the octo Camo thing, which is fun. Yeah, I love it. I've just loved the entire thing. I can empathize with the with the pain. Seriously, I got it, I got I got the ring fit u and uh, that's just hard, man. It's no joke.

It's no joke. Like people like I watched Tenshi do it, and I'm like, well, ten she goes to the fucking gym like all the time, ripped. He's like buffed and he was like sweating, and I was like, oh my god, what am I What's gonna happen when I try this done? It's pretty tough. It's pretty For the second time in my life, I woke up the other day and sprained my back, so I did I didn't move, but it this isn't be getting out of bed.

I mean I woke up and went and that was it. My My back went like my lower left back muscle just seized, and I was like, oh great, really Air did it. The first time it ever happened to me was like the middle of last year. I just woke up my back. This waking up is that stressful? Now? My body fuck awful?

Stressful? Now it's horrendous. Yeah, I can relate to him. I had one of those proper I'm an old dad moments, like I took my kids to gymnastic and they were doing that thing where you crab where you put your hands behind your head and then put your back forward. Bridge. Yeah, the London Bridge. That's it, the London Bridge. I was like,

yeah, I can do that. I remember being able to do that, and I did it, and then I felt my entire lower back just lock up and spasm simultaneously, but had to kind of play off the cool to kids another parents. I'm fine over it until it just mentally went away and I felt old and horrible. Yeah, say it again? Is that Christopher Lee? Just now? I think it might be I'm gonna channel that

now. That's how that one's ruined my back exactly. Yeah. And if Jay sounds different today, that's because he's on He's on the backup computer over at Millie's house, so we might potentially get him on the go xl R set up after the break. We'll see, we'll see if if we have the technology, we'll see if we can make it happen. But let's go around the room. I don't know how to introduce his character anymore. Once upon a time he was a delivery boy, and he became the greatest lance of pilot ever lived in his free of man. And then and then and then he became responsible for the worst crime ever committed in the history of man, to

be slightly anti authority. Once and now he's a villain who has had his mind white. And then at the end of last week perhaps had the first one percent of mind earning my opinion. Yes, I don't know, I don't know. I don't know how to intro this anymore. It's fucking impossible. It's too much. It's just too many, like age sixty five and during chapter seventy one, why it actually experienced it? I can't do it. I'm here. He's got green hair. There you go, which,

by the way, is like the only plot hole. I feel like, like, why does he have green hair? Why has he never questioned it? Has no one ever mentioned it while he's been on the seriff, Like what like I've been oh scared of anyone asking me about Yeah, Like, no one's questioned it, you know, because I how does he explain that one away? I fist of the Walrus WHOA I play Stu Flanagan And he had the best and also the worst day of his life within the span of an hour last episode. I went from being on Oriah and realizing that all of his whimsical and wildest dreams had come true and uh then shortly after he h you relived the blants over. So, yeah, it's been an interesting day. I think what are we uh? I think we're sleeping right now.

We found out that I can shoot hard light out of my fingers, which is pretty cool. That's not going to get him in trouble at all, absolutely not. There will be no issues with that in the foreseeable future. Meanwhile, the murder investigation is going on in another part of the ship because like two people are just dead on the floor. He's not gonna be irresponsible with it, not at all, not like trying to like light candles across the room or like cigarettes, like I got your light, I can't

waste to shoot wife in the face. But it's like a horrible it's like a horrible graphic manga, you know, like it's just like this, you see everything. It's just blown off, like half of his face. Uh, yeah, that doesn't happen. I really really hope. I don't have to make any saving rules for that. So why it would have to make to save you roll the hit, Why it has to try and save for

death. I'll just do the best way to end the campaign, just just like a horrible accident, Just like God, everyone line up and grab a cigarette. I'mnna light them all at once, staff him and zero Blue Orion ends, Stu kills everyone, and you get some span next and you get oh god, there's one person on YouTube that's like I called it, look it up. Stu was the murderer after all. Uh yeah, let's let's hope that doesn't happen. And uh yeah, I'm genuinely scared about my new

found abilities because Stu will do something stupid with them. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when, and it's going to be. We need the timer to start now. Jay ah Hi, I'm Jay Britten. I'm playing Heath, who is back and is now sleepy. But it's spent the last day. I still can't even remember was it last episode of the episode before. It's just all blurred into one. Now I'm becoming my own character. I'm just trying to find all of his old teammates, I

guess, and drag them back into some kind of consciousness. And now we have stew back in his spandex. I'm very happy about that. And apparently Heath and Wyret sort of maybe friends now getting glunch. I don't know, I don't know anymore. And I'm as sleepy as Heath is. I'm just excited and on. He is a research scientist of the Seraph who is looking to try to get the team to I guess interface with the firmament, and so far it seems to be working, which is terrifying but awesome for doctor ze effort, so that's pretty cool. And Effie is kind of naive and hopeful and wants to work with the team, and Gabriella is a tired old pilot who sometimes has to step up because Effie won't do it. She's just got one loaded up like on her phone on the other screen and like playing like a Jay Britten RPG, and I would like to play that. It's just everyone has Jay's face and everybody's back. Everyone does their best impersonation. I've made the mistake very quickly of like someone who comes and watch me, watches my channel who does like lots of photoshops.

And I was playing Dark Souls and we came across a skeleton bent over a banister, and I stood behind them, and within five seconds in my discord Art channel, there's my face photo shopped onto my character having sex with the thorpes. There you go. You don't want my face everywhere. I don't know if I want to play the RPG no JPG version. I want to play it more now, but yes, if you haven't seen the show before, this is a very very anime like Mecca type show. We're kind of

deep into the show at this point. The characters have been through several emotional rollercoasters. Let's play the anime intro to get everybody going here, and let's get started. The year is fifty sixteen U. After many failures, Humanity has reached new heights. Union is responsible for all of it. It is the Tyrant, the Watcher, and the guiding Hand. The Third Committee watches

over Humanity, but is stretched thin. Threats sloom from the own of ascendency, overreaching corporal states, remnants of the Second Committee, and other unknown dangers. Union scrambles to cope with the vast size of the hegemony and these threats

by relying on unorthodox means. On the last episode of Zero Blue Orion, the group had started experimenting with their firmament abilities, and they had taken trip into the Firmament a few times, sort of back and forth, trying to help e Fie aka Gabriella and coax her from her sort of fantasy experience where

she was kind of able to control a dreamlike state. Heath experienced more of his locational gps LI like abilities and had a little bit of a intense conversation with Wyatt trying to explain a lot of the things that had happened before the

sort of memory wipe situation occurred. Everyone was sort of trying to remind Wyatt of the various things that happened, and we had stew experiment with his finger guns, and Doctor Zephyr was I guess trying to just sort of get everyone on the same page and try and be able to I guess, figure out their firmament likabilities. Wyatt seemed unimpressed with the what he perceived to be new personas and became extremely worried about the mission and the things that are going on.

He had an idea to go meet up with with Asura, who seems, according to his brother Tivious, to be aware that the Second Committee of Union the sort of do anything at any cost kind of people the end justify the means, almost like a remnant of an old sort of shadow like government. I guess they've kind of taken up that shadow government like a feeling.

The Third Committee, the current representatives of Union have very different philosophies. However, Tivious has sort of explained that the Second Committee seems to be pulling the strings here and why it was trying to get in contact with Ashura and right at the end of last session. A lot of thoughts were running through your head. Why you were getting little flashes of memory and there was a call

that came through. You get a message on your communicator why and it's essentially the equivalent of like a text message, and it's from this Alisa person that you saw in the in the firmament and that everyone says that you know, and it says meant to send this to you earlier. I saw the video and this is what it was. So hope this comes through. Okay, why what the fuck do you think you're doing sending me a message un ingroup? Did you really that strip? Oh my god? Okay, listen,

I should I'm sorry, I should calm down. I just worry, Okay. I don't want anything bad to happen to you. Guys. I'm sure you're stupid for sending something so careless, but I wanted to say thank you that those things that you said, and I'm sorry. table in the in the mess hall. You were trying to hope that a sure would kind of show up, and you're just kind of like at the table playing this. Is there anyone else here? Maybe like one or two people, you know, it's it's not busy, like it's an off time,

like lunch has already happened. Okay, yeah, I'll shut the thing down, and uh yeah, I'll probably I think I would look agitated a little bit and maybe a little uh, anxious, but I'll i'll, I'll sit and pontificate and see if the Surer shows up or any of the other

members. I think Tavia said that the entire his entire crew. You did say that, so I guess any of the others are sure Reaper tried and Dagabond one of them goes up. No, there's only a couple people in here. Yeah, I'll give it a bit, and then I'll stretch, and I probably have some sort of empty container. Like I'm still silly a lot, so I probably have eaten something like I don't have much of an appetite, but I've gotten used to just eating now when I need to. I probably have some sort of empty container or a tray or something, and I'll like, I'll stretch a little and try and casually make it look like I'm walking up to, you

know, either a garbage can or a thing that's near him. And as I'm like walking past, I'll i'll I'll nod and and sort of casually just say, lieutenant, yes, uh strange. Actually I just spoke to Tivious. Sit down. Yeah, how's it going? Sit down? I sit down. He's like eating and he's trying not to. I think you can sense there was like an immediate reaction to you saying that, and like he's trying to play it off. Yeah, and I'm like really casually like leaning

back, acting as as cash as I can. Yeah. No, he's

I think I'm just trying to see his reaction, Like I'm trying to trying to judge whether he reacts I guess I'm trying to judge whether he reacts nervously or anxiously or or I guess sort of stiffly, like he's like like I know now what happens the chain of command, Like I'm trying to determine whether my rec his reaction is one of I now need to report this, or it's one of oh fuck, shut the fuck up. There's people around, which is pretty much

And yeah, he he comes out like a little bit of a quicker pace and he uh he starts to head to the probably one of the barracks of the ship barks where that alpha squad live. Yes, okay, m M. The command has probably done stayed there. The generally like the like a lot of the ranking officers have like nicer rooms. Yeah, but like the regular like crew members and

whatnot. They'll have they'll have like, uh, you know bunks that you probably have to you know that that are shared, like you might even have to switch out based on your in the time of the day and whatnot. So uh, following Lieutenant Patat you get to the to their barracks, he probably like looks around really like quickly, and he doesn't hit like the the

actual like buzzer for the door. He'll he'll actually like knock on the door first and then hit the buzzer and he'll he'll, he'll do like a knock. That's just pretty simple. But it's just kind of there isn't a pattern to it. It's just like a door opens, he goes inside. Let's see, who have no door? Give me any sort of perception if you have it a trigger? Uh? Nope, okay, Flat T twenty fifteen. Yeah, it was another member of the Sarah Lancers. Uh that time

it was a vagabond, you know, as Lieutenant Barnes. Mmmmm go back going not uh? Uh fuck it for a penny, in for a pound. I go up and do the knock. Do you hit the door buzzer? Nope? I'm very prepared for it. You can see like there are weapons trained on you as you go into the room. Uh, you can see that it is, uh the entire Sarah Lancer squad in here. And yeah, they're they're basically all pointing weapons at you and lieutenant uh, Lieutenant Battant and I think Surah looked like they were in the middle of a conversation, like they're they're sort of like right next to each other. They had a posture like

they were in a in a conversation and were interrupted. Why is this happening? Hold on, let me just reload this real quick. Sorry? Why did it load this? The wrong game? Really playing? Now? Sorry? What were I playing when I came into the room? What were they playing? As in like a board game or something. Yeah, I'm assuming they were playing like it was some of those Wizards Lords of Water Deep. I survived, Okay, so you get pulled into the conversation basically, uh

physically and and uh and and uh figuratively and uh. I sur U is kind of like looking at you, like, what are you doing here? Ah? I think you know exactly what I'm doing here. You slipped me this my wife about the thing? Have it actually give it to the others? I don't. I think you gave it to them and they looked at it. I don't remember if they gave it back or not remember either. Yeah, you slipped me a little present, and I am desperately in need

of some friends here. So hello friends. I told you he was very insistent. I'm not trying to throw a wrench into whatever plans you've been working on. Have been talking about Second Committee. They've got a plan, although it's

a sort of based on all sorts of hohoha. They're going to find someone some sort of make out there. There's a bit of a rat race, I think when the Union descendancy, maybe some other parties. Yes, Second Committee. I don't know how they were able to get so many high ranking people involved in all of this, but your lot appears to be some sort of They appear to be some sort of experiment of the Second Committee. Yeah, we've sort of pieced that together near as I can tell, that only

leaves us with a few options. I'm inclined to find your brother so that he can give us some guidance here, but beyond that, we either have to take control of this ship or get off of it and somehow get all of you off the grid. Mhmm. Or we can see exactly what it is that they're trying to do here and help or try to hinder them based on whatever it is that they're trying to do. And no, we're going

to do that they're controlling all the information. Tried looking up a name, and that's what flagged for a lots on unless we can and no gain access to one of the commanders solves. But even then I don't trust or we can get in contact with the Third Committee, and maybe I don't know they can resolve everything right now, you do you propose we do that? Well, if we're able to get maybe off the ship somehow, we can maybe send another transmission through the Omni neet, right, we can get off the

ship if are we're going to go? And what about the fact that we are in the Harrison Armory purview? You don't think that they're looking through the messages. We don't know if the Harrison Armory is part of the Second Committee. That's just your conspiracy theory. Well, I think it's a pretty good conspiracy theory. Ultimately, we just don't have enough information. Yeah, I'm

practically doing all of this on a conspiracy theory, all right. That and the trust that my brother knew what the fuck he was doing and he seemed to trust you a lot. Okay, and I who are compelled trust my lot. They are different though their skill set has changed, but they have skills with a degree, but it's not the same and not under my control. I'm concerned that they are and it get us all caught, and we might only have one shot at this. They can wipe all of our minds.

They can wipe all of our minds, and that could be it. Lieutenant Poole, also known as Reaper, who's been quiet through this whole thing, sort of he pipes up and he says, what about the fir moment? This would be you can try and this will be with too

But I guess I've learned that I can kind of project images or memories specifically, So I'm just going to imagine the hallway completely empty. Straight at them, and maybe they stand there for a second and they're like oh, or maybe they keep running and go into the room, but they don't notice us. Lieutenant Commander Desira said that they they might be special or something like

what what does that even mean? They're like arguing with you the way in case you couldn't tell, they look like they look like metal gear. He tries to sense it a plot finder. Yeah, what's that move in masks where it's like, what's the best when you sense the thing? What is the best way to deal with this situation or whatever that one was? Okay, so I need to think. You need to do

some mental chess. Okay, So you head to the hangar bay where your mechs are, and you do it in such a way that you avoid the patrols or people that might be trying to find you. You arrive at the hangar bay, you can see your mechs sort of have been repaired and are ready to go. Is our pilot gear with our mechs or was it somewhere else? Give me a flat D twenty. My guess is, My guess is there's like a kind of like a bridge to the next to like the Shuttle Bay area, and there's probably like a you know, like a conveyor belt of some kind to move them along if if nobody's like in them to pilot them, so there there would be some kind of connection or something for sure. Uh So I bailed the second I heard get to a shuttle and I wanted to head to the Shuttle Bay area and see if there was one that

I could grab. Okay, so you're going for the shuttle before your lancer. Well yeah, because I'm assuming though the lancers are like hooked up and I can literally just like they're on like a conveyor belt line. Right, if I get to the Shuttle Bay and I'm like these four lancers, it'll move the lancers for me, right, nobody actually has to get in, okay, our lancers dry clean? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, Okay, I get in my drag cleaned lancer, though not a

record. So looking inside, you can see that there there are personnel in the shuttle bay, and I think that they have like battle station kind of like protocol, like they go they sort of like lock things down and sort of like uh close like any any actual uh like openings on the ship for you to like leave. There's probably like an energy shield to land and whatnot. So the the they don't need like an air lock or anything, but they actually have like an actual gate that sort of would come down.

Okay, And can I can I run up to somebody who's in charge here? How do I know about the like protocol, Like is the alarm blaring is just like all hands on deck emergency? Right, Well, you've landed on the ship. I mean you've you've like flown your lancers down to Thesus five, and right I'm just wondering if I'm just wondering if there's a separate protocol for like an internal issue versus just a regular red alert all hands on deck. Basically, can I walk up to this fucker and lie or am

I'm just gonna rest her there, and then I'm gonna take any of the ID or key or card swite that I need and hit that terminal and start getting

up us a shuttle. Awesome. Yeah, there's there's some other personnel. What I'd like for you to do is to give me. Do you have any kind of like stealth thing to help you. There is no traditional stealth in the trigger, so it's just take somebody out, get somewhere quick. I think I have survive. I don't know if that would count. I guess everybody else is busy with their jobs or you're getting all this set up, but there's other people around and they're probably like you're getting the shuttle, like I guess, set up to receive, so like it's on probably like a you know, like a swiveling type platform, so like there's probably like a like a like some kind of a mechanical like you know, where the shuttle's kind of like turning so that it can like load the mechs on, and it's set up like it's it's

starting to turn. You guys can see like the the mechs are starting to get like loaded on into the conveyor belt like in a line so that they can get loaded onto a ship. What are you doing? We know in them. We don't be in them. It's up to you. You don't have to. I would assume yeah that we I mean I would have tried to get in it and be just fucking tyken with it. It's a much I've got a sup. What the fuck? Okay, what happened to my go excel there, it's happened to you as well. Yeah, okay,

I mean I think like as he was getting in, he did done that, you know, climbing up in and as he kind of steps in into like take a second just to tap the side of it and go, hello, my little palace, I have missed you, little snuggle his butt right down back in. All right. Once you're loaded in, why you better get to the front guy. Somebody cleaned

me inside of my mic. What the heck? Everything was arranged in here perfectly? Well, I hate it. I think the last thing you remember in your mac, the last thing you remember in your mech were the photos that got all melted too, everything like you're horribly distorted face like you know, horrific, this horrific smile plastered everywhere. Okay, So I've been rolling for various things while this has been going on, by the way, and I've been rolling fucking garbage. So, uh, you are able to load

in the mechs. Apparently the guards went to the wrong location. Oh it's just like one of those subtuicules of if someone is acting like they belong there, nobody thinks anything of it. They're just like, oh, okay, she must supposed to be here. I guess I just had to clipboard and

a high vision yeah, and I'm like all right here I am. Okay, then I would like to dash over to the shuttle and get on as long as I have set us up to go, meaning like that barrier that's there, I'd like to remove that as well, and like open the gate and get us ready to fly out. Okay, give me another flat D twenty okay, twelve. Wow, you guys, the luck for this episode is uncontrollable. I don't want to do anything because i't want to break type.

So you're able to kind of do this and I think, Yeah, the the hatch like opens, the energy shield is still up, which is a good thing. So there's like different spheres of almost like relevancy, you know, like once you get past like a certain point, then doesn't matter what kind of defensive systems you have, then you can fire. You think that you can get out of the immediate range of fire so that if you put in evasive maneuvers that

you would probably be able to dodge most of the attacks. like five times or six times. No, but I'm like okay, but now that fucks over the Alpha team because they yeah, I would feel like they got the penalty because so yeah, that was that was amazing, so amazing roll situations and the stars aligned. My little character motivation going into this week was that this was new Wyatt with five percent of old Wyatt leaning through, and by the end, I'd say about ten percent, which is why I was making some more like crazy, I'm going to fucking try and teleport. I'm going to fucking go back. And also that bleed means that I can't fucking leave people

behind it like point not one percent more guilt on any Wyatt's conscience. It's just not something I'm able to even fucking roll like he won't be able to function. So I was like, he will have a fucking stud take the fucking controls. I've fucking got a teleport pack. I was just sitting there as well, like, ah, I've got to do it. Like I'm sitting here, Brad going, I have to have whyat fucking jump into the

morning cloak and teleport it. He can't just fucking leave. And I know that technically they probably wouldn't like necessarily kill them, but he couldn't run that race. So I had to have him do it, and uh, it worked out luckily, but I was I was willing to see where that went at that point horrible. I feel like I need to go and lay down, face down until tomorrow when I will be streaming Battle Gear in the morning and then sweeker, then two because PB's forcing me to Me and PB are

now on a strict schedule. We basically run to the same channel at this point where we one tang we're doing a tag team thing because I'm trying to watch her playthrough of games. She's trying to watch my playthrough of games. So I'm going to play Metal Gear, She's going to play Krona Across and I'm going to play Sweaker in Sea. It's like one of my favorite stories of all times, so I feel like a good story. Please come join
