For today’s second half, we’re doing a mini-course on how to advocate for yourself. I have a book coming out soon called, "The Chronic Illness Handbook: Strategies for Living Your Best Life,” and we’ll use some information from that today. Now, it's useful in other arenas if you aren’t chronically ill; learning to advocate for yourself can be one of the hardest skills you learn how to do as an adult. We all will face illness in one form or another during our lifetimes. Today, I’m sharing tips for effective communication with healthcare providers, including preparing for appointments and asking questions.
