This week we turned it up to eleven and watched This is Spinal Tap. When Jimmy and Forrest found out Lucas had not seen this, we decided to record an emergency episode of the podcast. Lucas talks about knowing the references going in to the movie, but being able to connect them to his experiences playing in bands. We talk about Michael McKean's time on Saturday Night Live, Jimmy's undying love for this movie, being big in Japan, and the band Anvil.
This week we read the Sandman comics. Our first (of probably many) Neil Gaiman story. Forrest ponders if Hell is a self perpetuating autocracy. Jimmy talks about people seeing the Demon Azrael. We talk about John Joseph's book Evolution of a Cro-Mag, the non masturbatory habits of the DC universe, how this comic was transmitted sexually, Shakespeare's muppet show, and the many gods who make appearances in this story.
This week we watched the movie Cooties. We talked about wasting Jack McBrayer's talent, the show Glee, Forrest's hate for movies about teachers, Forrest spoils the DC Animated Hush movie. Jimmy gets annoyed with Forrest.
This week's movie is the Coen Brothers' Hail, Caesar. Forrest loves the Coen Bros. Jimmy loves old Hollywood. This movie combines both. We talk about the old movies and stars they reference. We also discuss how Alden Ehrenreich had to have been cast as Han Solo after a certain scene of this movie. We talk about Once Upon A Time in Hollywood another movie which is a love letter to Hollywood. We talk about people not liking movie in black and white, the Twilight Zone, and Guillermo del Toro.
This week Jimmy chose Shin Godzilla. We talk about the different iterations we've liked. Forrest is pretty sure one of the guys in this movie wants to fuck Godzilla. This week we read our first comic, Jason McNamara's Rattler drawn by Greg Hinkle. Forrest read this on a whim, and chose this because it gave him a Twilight Zone vibe. Jimmy didn't know what to expect when Forrest gave the vague description of, "a man hears his girlfriend's voice in the strangest places." We talk about Stephen King and the importance of being Bachman.
This week we watched Kevin Smith's Tusk. This is one of Jimmy's favorite Kevin Smith movies after watching it for the first time. We talk about his old movies and how people used to (and still) shit on comic books. Forrest thinks he found shit that should not be in the movie. We try to determine whose the hero in this. This week continuing our Spooky Halloween month, we watched Mandy with Nicolas Cage. We talk about how this looks like a Mash up of three of our favorite directors and how it seems everyone in this movie is going Full Cage.

Welcome everybody today we are talking about the classic golf comedy Caddyshack. Jimmy and Forrest were both nervous about this episode for different reasons. This week we listened to the Rentals album Return of the Rentals. Lucas Perea joins us for more Weezer history and talks about his love for Matt Sharp. We tell a story about the smelly tree in front of the apartment Forrest lived in during high school. Jimmy and Lucas both still feel damaged after listening to Husker Du.
This week we talk about Cowboy Bebop. Forrest connects this show to The Venture Bros. He delves into his history of losing interest in anime. We point out the references to the Beatles, Rolling Stones, and others that were not expected. Jimmy talks about the Black Night Satellite. We talk about gay anime characters. Forrest talks about his dislike of Joss Whedon's writing. We talk about using the mentally ill as villains. Jimmy thinks Al Pacino is in the movie Lawnmower Man.
We are at the end of the Harry Potter books. Forrest and Jimmy debate a less than impactful death three pages into the story. Forrest still thinks the Dursleys are shitty even if they've had a horcrux living underneath their staircase for so long. Also, why would Draco embarrass his father in front of Voldemort like that. We go off topic and talk about Robert Kirkman comics.
This week we watched the movie Stripes. Jimmy saw a lot different movie than Forrest did. We learn about his hatred of military comedies. We also talk about who this was originally written for. Also is Ox a racist? Forrest and Jimmy disagree about a comparison Forrest makes to Full Metal Jacket. Jimmy is also upset at the movie's titty bar logic.
This week we watch the Troma classic Surf Nazis Must Die. Jimmy finds some misinformation regarding who directed this. Forrest thinks of an unlikely candidate who should remake this movie. Jimmy talks about watching this movie at work and how it perfectly fits a break schedule. They both recommend a Punk Rock Western.
This week Forrest tortured Jimmy and and Lucas with the Hüsker Dü album Zen Arcade. Lucas couldn't finish the album and Jimmy powered through it six times. I guess you can say they Hüsker Dön't.
We are chugging along to the end of the Harry Potter books. This we are dissecting Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Forrest asks why these kids are not obese given the fact they do not have any type of P.E. or gym class. We also discuss why Draco is allowed to stay at the school after directly saying he works for Voldemort. Jimmy tells Forrest about something fans do that is worse than playing Quidditch.
This week, we are talking about The Burbs. This was one of the many movies Forrest saw for the first time on Channel 5. Jimmy is not impressed by this. We talk about the Universal Studios backlot and Jimmy's fear of Leatherface.
The only podcast episode that matters. This week we watched the Clash documentary Westway to the World. This is a band Forrest and Jimmy both love. They reminisce about their history with the band.
Today, we talk about City of Thieves by David Benioff. We talk about Russia during World War II. The book was an influence on the Playstation game The Last of Us, which is what prompted Forrest to read it. Jimmy talks about finding True Crime and Horror videos on YouTube.
Continuing our discussion on the Harry Potter series. Forrest expands his theory and likens Voldemort to specific disease. Jimmy continues to guide Forrest through the Wizarding World.
We talk about the classic Point Break to kick off Summer and make a right turn at the Day the Music Died. Forrest feels the ending of this movies somewhat mirrors the Silence of the Lambs. Jimmy thinks this is a prequel to the Matrix. We also follow up on our episode for Split after seeing its sequel, Glass.
Finally, book that's not set in the Wizarding World. We read N0S4A2 by Joe Hill. Forrest used the podcast as an excuse to re-read the book ahead of the show. Jimmy airs his grievances about Joe Hill and Stephen King as if it was Festivus.
