Episode 45 - Spinal Tap

This week we turned it up to eleven and watched This is Spinal Tap. When Jimmy and Forrest found out Lucas had not seen this, we decided to record an emergency episode of the podcast. Lucas talks about knowing the references going in to the movie, but being able to connect them to his experiences playing in bands. This week we read the Sandman comics. Our first (of probably many) Neil Gaiman story. Forrest ponders if Hell is a self perpetuating autocracy. Jimmy talks about people seeing the Demon Azrael. We talk about John Joseph's book Evolution of a Cro-Mag, the non masturbatory habits of the DC universe, how this comic was transmitted sexually, Shakespeare's muppet show, and the many gods who make appearances in this story.

We are chugging along to the end of the Harry Potter books. This we are dissecting Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Forrest asks why these kids are not obese given the fact they do not have any type of P.E. or gym class. We also discuss why Draco is allowed to stay at the school after directly saying he works for Voldemort. Jimmy tells Forrest about something fans do that is worse than playing Quidditch.
