Shop Talk

Today we are discussing the gravitational pull of the barber shop and how it is instantly of sacred place where men feel comfortable expressing themselves. Sometimes the barbershop gets a bad reputation because of the locker room talk, the derogatory comments that are made and the fact that it may be a breeding ground for what people call toxic masculinity. We must highlight the positive aspects of what happens in these barber shops and comradery, conversations, and lessons that are learned in spaces where generations of men talk to each other.
