Compassion on the Distracted - Dallin's Quick Thoughts - #295

When we fall short, it can be quite frustrating. When this seems to happen all because of getting distracted in one decisive moment, it can be nearly debilitating. Here's my quick thoughts on having compassion on ourselves in times where this happens. It comes down to going towards things that will help you regain your focus, letting things pass, and playing the long game. Always a work in progress though. It feels good to be back in the studio (aka my parent's garage) with much better recording...

Let's Talk about the Down-Stream-Likely-Outcome (DSLO) - #291

Well, it happened again. Had a podcast interview ready to be edited, and put it off far enough so I needed to resort to recording on my phone. I decided to chalk this up as a learning opportunity, and talk about an analogy related to creating content, building online, and meeting deadlines in general. I really was planning to get the episode with Michael out, but it'll have to wait until Thursday. Thank you for understanding, and I hope this episode helps you!:) More From Me: My Medium: https://...

Creating Space For Your Thoughts to Grow - #288

Tonight I realized that although I had sold myself on getting the interview with Eric Teplitz out I need to push it back. I decided to give myself space, instead of forcing output or constraining one of my most precious resources - time. I thought this was a fantastic time to go deeper into this topic. How do we create space for ourselves, and how does this help our thoughts grow? For me having the definition that space is a place with zero expectations and I can just be is helpful. I shared som...

Swallowed Up in Good Things - CC Trip 4/7 - #287

I'm all about being swallowed up in good things, because those help you see more possibility. I chatted briefly about this principle and how Tracy Mcgrady and Joesph of Egypt chose to be swallowed up in possibility even when the odds seemed against them. I'm very excited about this topic, and I hope that that shows and it helps you in some way. Every share of the podcast goes a LONG way! Recently the podcast got listened to in Japan and I super appreciate you guys sharing the show with those you...

Changing Gears and Choosing Joy - #286

Living at home again has taught me a number of things about myself. For one thing, it has reminded me that I need to keep on changing things up, and letting myself iterate. Doing this has led to me improving my overall output of the podcast. Lately it's also led to plenty of other benefits. Feeling more flexible overall with growing the show has been just one. I'm choosing to get more done in less time by only working on YIELD Today stuff on Monday and Tuesday. There will still be 3 episodes a w...

Raising Your Temperature of Life - CC Trip 3/7 - #284

I love James Clear's example of raising the temperature of an ice cube, and how it takes time, but it becomes clear. I've been in a season of raising my overall temperature of life. I'm fascinated with our ability to rewrite our stories and I got the idea to do a group discussion episode on this topic! This is the first episode of its kind. Two Birds, One Stone - CC Trip 2/7 - #281

I'm adamant about thinking through what is happening and not happening in life, and then designing workarounds. The two-birds-one-stone framework is a good one to help with making progress in multiple areas of your life at the same time. For one thing, I am doing this by driving through Utah and making a podcast episode. Here's a few notes I dug up while doing this episode (because that's what it be like sometimes): 1. It generally is the "BEST" stuff that is in the two-birds or more at once tie...

It's All About Your Life's Slope! - CC Trip 1/7 - #278

On Friday, January 20, 2023 at around 9:30 AM in the morning my brother James and I left Utah in search of a new life. Utah has been good, but I've been feeling the call to move to Florida, and that's exactly what I'm doing now.
