YHS Have Some Hello everybody, welcome to Yes Have Some Podcast. My name is Craig Goldberg. Welcome to the show. We are back from San Diego Comic Con. We have survived. A lot of people didn't. No, people were surviving, but I think all of our friends have COVID. I don't want to call people out, but a lot of the toy guys that were hanging out, like the toy company guys. I think they came down with the old 2020 flu. That's what I call it. I've never said that
before, but we'll stick with it. Hope everybody's having a great day. Before we get started, let me introduce my co-hosts as always since 2016. Abigail Gardner, what's up? How are you? Hey, less COVID talk and more talk about movies and fun stuff. Yeah, I know. I know, I know. I told you it's very exciting. Yeah, and I thought theخ, I thought you can walk too quickly. It's funny. Wow, yeah and there's really nobody for me anymore. Yeah, he doesn't Mom. He took aそcs to the What's up with that?
Why would I say that? Well, maybe because it does. I was reading the, in the Discord, the Patreon exclusive YHS Discord, Ryan Dole was posting about, I guess, D23 is coming up in a couple of weeks, which is the big Disney fan showcase. There's going to be like a, almost like a hall-age style panel for Disney Marvel Star Wars where they maybe announce some stuff. And I was just like, what are they going to, they're going to announce the Ray movie again.
You know, it's like, what are they going to, I don't know, I want, I want Star Wars to be great. I want to love it. I want to be excited about it like I was in like 2015, 2016, but it's, it's a little tougher these days. I don't know, maybe we'll get into it tonight, but yeah, Star Wars kind of sucks right now. What am I supposed to do? I want it to be amazing.
Yeah, when the thing that makes me think of, that validates that statement for us is when y'all were planning, well, we were all planning our trip to Japan for celebration, and we're doing like one day at the convention and then everything else is going to be like exploring. Maybe half a day. Yeah, like it's going to be just a quick stop. It's going to be a early dinner that night. No, no, Star Wars celebration, that's different because like all our friends, like conventions are fun.
Maybe I'm saying it next year, Star Wars is going to be great. Well maybe, maybe, maybe Bryce can say that with skeleton crew. Hey, skeleton crew, the first images came out. I don't know, maybe it'll be great. Maybe it'll be like one of those shows where like, why did they make this? What does this have to do with Star Wars? I don't know, but Jude Laws in it. So yeah, okay. Quick, Jude Law fuck budget. Name five Jude Law movies. I don't think I could AI. AI. And that's it. That's all.
He's been no more. I was big into him, but I don't remember. Yeah, he's done, hey, he's done something and that's what counts. Well let's get into it guys. We're back from Comic Con. We're going to break down some of the, you know, on Toi anxiety, we covered a lot of the toys and action figures, but just the overall experience. This is our third Comic Con. It's a ton of fun. Kind of wanted to get into that a little bit. We'll talk about Marvel, do a little fuck budget a little bit later.
I do think that we did not cover this on Toi anxiety. I think we should maybe talk about our hangout with Hasbro a little bit as well. We did our live stream with the Hasbro Pulse team. We teased out the next Has lab. I thought that was really fun, but Jacob, roll the dice to you. Where do you want to start? How are you feeling coming out of Comic Con? I mean, I feel good. You know, my wallet feels good, which is not something I can usually say after Comic Con. But it was exciting.
You know, there's, I have like a couple regrets, a few things that I wish I would have tried a little harder to do or see or just things I forgot about. But overall, I'm very excited about, you know, some of the stuff that was teased. I think the one thing I haven't been able to stop thinking about is alien. Alien, alien, Romulus. We did it. We went to the hall H panel. There's something about listen, hall H is like this legendary like, I don't know, it feels like unobtainable.
Like we're never going to get into there. But we totally just walked into hall H and went to, I don't know, it felt like the biggest panel of the weekend was like 5,000 people in there. I mean, it wasn't bigger than Marvel, but it was awesome. The director was there. Fade Alvarez. The cast was there. Mm hmm. Mm hmm. Yeah. The face huggers were there. The huggers. They were passed out afterwards. We have a long history with alien.
I mean, we, some of our earliest episodes were us, that was right when Prometheus came out. I've been excited about this movie, but after, listen, you're in a panel. The lights go down, the music's booming. The screens are everywhere. The cast and crew are there. It's hard not to get excited about something, but this isn't Clurks 3. This looks awesome. You know, remember we all came out like, hey, Clurks 3 looks like. Yeah, Clurks 3. I don't think I came out like that.
I think I came out saying Clurks 3 looks like garbage. Yeah, no use getting hurt. It was somehow worse. I saw Kevin Smith announce the new J and Silent Bob movies called Store Wars. So. Did you, did you see the trailer for his new movie? I did. It looks so bad. I had it. So bad. So bad. And the worst part about it is it says like, from the guy who brought you all these things. Yeah. And it says, and probably Clurks 4. Yeah. No. What is it though?
Is it like, it looks like a wannabe like Richard Linklater, Dazen Confused like a period like without all the comedy and charm of rich andality. Yeah. It's just. Was it Kevin Smith's birthday like today or yesterday? I'm pretty sure you should not be talking about him. I mean, I could birthday Kevin Smith. Happy birthday Kevin. Here's hoping it's a great one. Yeah. I'm going. I'll still watch it because yeah. You know, the guy's made some great stuff and he's great, but. Yeah. It's tough.
It's tough. It's tough for these days. But anyways, Alien Romulus, let's round table us. Abigail, what was your impression of the panel? What your excitement level for that movie? Well, I've seen the first trailer for the movie. So like, going into it, I knew that this one was scarier. Buzzwords were like, it's a little more violent. It seems very tense and kind of thematically like the first alien, which I love. So I was excited and I was going in pretty positive to that panel.
The director, Fede Alvarez, was really eloquent in his speaking and used the F word a lot, which I enjoy. And when he was talking about the things he's passionate about, what the F work. He's like, he's a fuck face hugger. Yeah. And he said that there's like a psychosexual nature to Alien and to the face huggers. And I was like, that's what I'm all about. And I'm excited to see explored. And the lights dropped and they did like the exciting.
They like smoked up the room a little bit and then got the trailer really exciting. I felt like I was in like a real Comic Con moment. And it was legitimately scary. Like I, without being prompted or thinking I was going to do it, I started grabbing Craig who was next to me like as the trailer was running. Yeah. I started grabbing a complete stranger. Yeah. You believe in aliens back. Yeah, we didn't have our face huggers to grab yet at that point.
So yeah, the trailer, the portions of the movie that we saw were extremely exciting and just really scary, which is awesome. I can't say that alien covenant or Prometheus were like terrifyingly scary. And I think that's like an important part of the original, the alien trilogies that there's like some mind bending, absolutely psychological terrifying thing going on.
Well, I think with Prometheus and I, it's been a long time since I've seen it, it's more of a, there's like a philosophical narrative throughout the movie. And it really kind of explores like it was like, remember, like they kind of went out of their way to like make people not realize it was an alien movie. It was kind of a weird thing, but like that movie's good. Covenant sucked.
This movie though, especially the third, we won't spoil any of the clips we saw just that they were violent and gross and very terrifying and loud, but they showed like an extended scene with like, I think it was an advertisement for IMAX. And the way dude, when those alarm bells are going off and like the alien font starts fading in like you can't, it's not just nostalgia because it's not, I don't have nostalgia for alien like that. It's more than that.
It's like it's a voking like a really great cinematic feeling where you're like, this is familiar, but new. And it Jake, you listen without a doubt, you have the most critical eye when it comes to, in this group, when it comes to horror and monsters and you have high expectations for your modern sci-fi as well, especially this is what the ninth alien movie, but you seemed pretty taken aback with it.
Yeah, because, yeah, yeah, because you know, he's trying to make it, you know, fit in closer to the first and second movie, it takes place in between the first and second movie. And even though the second movie is not a horror movie at all, the first movie is, and that's something that like a lot of the sequels forget is that this franchise started off like as a straight up horror movie.
And yeah, it just, it looks really intense and it's scary and I think people try to over complicate alien a lot, you know, like, you know, the first movie is really simple and then it's like every movie after that, it's like ways to try to step it up or do something right or different because they feel like they have to do that. But you don't, you can just do another movie where it's a crew getting killed by aliens and yeah, remember an alien four were the aliens in the Bahamas with them?
That made no sense. I would have watched that. That sounds great. Yeah. Michael Keynes there. Hey, listen, there's also an alien show being made simultaneously. There's not much known about it, although I think the one thing people do know is that it takes place on earth. It's like an earthbound alien. You know, part of the story. And I think that's really cool. We'll see. But yeah, this movie looks so awesome.
The cast is like fairly like new kind of unknowns coming from the, you know, indie movie world, they were all really charming and funny. In Fetty Alvarez, like he, you know, he did the evil dead remake, which I think there's some polarizing views of that movie. But it is really gross and really intense. You can't take that away from it. Yeah. And what was the other one? Don't breathe. I don't know if I've ever seen don't breathe.
Yeah. But I don't think either one of those movies are like, you know, my top wouldn't be at my top list of war films, but they're both, but I think they're both good movies. And I'm also like this movie takes place in between the first two alien movies.
And I think we're finally at that moment, especially with like the legacy, equals or the legacy sequels where we can go and have this movie and it can be big and scary and it can be successful and entertaining and there doesn't need to be like a post credit scene where like Sigorni Weaver shows up for some reason for just. No, dog.
You know, like the main actress, Kaylee Spani, I'm looking her up right now was really, really like confident and convincing and seem to have like found a method with a, with the director of Fetty Alvarez that was like, they had some sort of an unspoken language. And I was like, that's cool because what's, Ripley was such an important like, just like, example of like a strong, powerful female in a sci fi movie.
And I think having that be something that's important as a connected tissue for this one is really exciting. And Sigorni, there was rumors for a long time that Sigorni Weaver was going to come back. Who's that direct? I think I did District 9 Neil, Neil Blancke. He was, you know, he was trying to get an alien five off the ground for a long time never happened. And then obviously Ridley Scott did the Prometheus and Covenant. So yeah, it looks awesome.
I mean, it comes out here in just a couple of weeks. Yep. So we'll definitely have first thoughts on it when it, when it drops, but it's almost one of those things like with the clips I've seen in the trailers I've seen like, I don't know how it could be bad unless there's something really like, unless there's just like a weird left turn in there like some weird story thing, but like, I don't know, looks good, looks impactful, emotional and scary. Bring the flute back.
Yeah. Yeah. The flute back, hey, I'm going to, this is, this is in post. You're going to add smoke and music to the, oh, because I'm excited. I am. Yeah, it's going to be a huge surprise. I don't. Wow. It was funny. I think I mentioned this on tour anxiety, but when the lights went off and the red lights came on, I was like, what's happening? I'm going to go in the hell. In my go. Did you think the rapture was not my PTSD? I was fine. I used to worry about it all the time though. Oh, yeah.
Now that was an awesome room to be in. All A's, what do you think it stands for? Oh, you could be going to hell. You better be good. Good thing. Oh, I loved watching that. And I love that we all got to see it together. And that was a big moment. Me too. I was just going to say that's actually some good material for the people that stand on the street corners of Comic Con. They have no idea. They could make the coolest hall H. Hell signs. They could knew that hall H was a thing. But they don't.
They don't pay attention. Surprise. Big surprise. Yeah, I love that Jacob and hall H. Yeah, it's hailed as like so hard to get into. It was really nice to be able to slip in. We were like right in the middle. So we got, we were like right behind a good. Well, there was a lot going on at Comic Con this year. There was tons of panels and like obviously the show floor was insane. So we did go to that panel and we did go to some toy panels and stuff.
I tried to go to the topic for our own panel and literally bailed much like on my super powers collection. I said, I think I'm over this. I think my hype has died down. Let's talk about Hasbro real quick though. So it was really cool. We were invited by Pat and Kevin and Emily to take place in a little Hasbro pulse stream. It's on the Hasbro pulse YouTube. And I also posted it on our Facebook and Instagram and you know, we got to know them a little bit over the last couple of months.
They were at our YHS premiere party for Frozen Empire. And it's really cool. They're great, awesome, awesome people and anybody who's a toy collector, if you've collected G.I. Joe or Power Rangers over the last couple of years, you definitely know who Emily is because she's been like the brand leader on that stuff. You got a band in a lot of stuff. So they did like the Hasbro booth was amazing. Shout out to Tom Whalen, friend of the podcast. He did all this incredible artwork.
Jacob and made me feel so good that like a really talented actual artist was hired to make original art for Hasbro's huge presence at Comic Con. Like that makes me feel warm inside. Yeah, it's great to see someone who actually creates their own artwork and Tom deserves it. Man, he's so great. His stuff is so good. You know, in following him for a long time, it was really cool to meet him in person. Finally, he was so happy to do that. He's such a good dude.
And yeah, dude, Hasbro's booth looked amazing because of it. Like it really stood out. Have an artwork all the way around it of all the different licenses that they hold. It was great. It was good. Yeah, for those of you watching, I'm holding up Hasbro a pulse pin, which has the color scheme, which I think Patrick said that he was a part in choosing these colors. And I love them. I love them. Yeah, they went for a little summer time.
Yeah, summer time, tropical, pinks and oranges and the yellows was really cool. California. Yeah. And then so you have like the whole showcase and all the signings and everything and then like up up above through a special door. Hey, wait, let me point out that we didn't even know about above. We didn't know about above Comic Con until this year. So let's talk about it. Well, that's the thing about Comic Con is like there's layers. There's like, there's an upper Comic Con.
Well, it's not even just that. It's like there's the, there's the, there's hard to get into Comic Con in general. It's hard to get a pass. So getting in is one thing. But then there's like, if you got little ins with the different, you know, companies and people that are there, there's like another layer of like access. And then there's definitely like a third layer of access that we don't know about, which is like all the private parties and stuff like that.
And then there's like a fourth layer. I'm sure it just keeps going up and up and then it's somewhere at the top is like Robert Andy Jr. Dr. Doommasks like whatever. So anyways, we go, they invited us. They were doing a live streams throughout the weekend. We joined them for some Ghostbusters trivia. We actually prepped. Did we not? We did. Yeah. At the Alien panel. Yeah, you were testing us. And we also in the room, I know Jacob and I had Ghostbusters on. And then I asked the call came on.
So we studied. Then I went to sleep. Did you just never know what kind of questions you're going to get? And the whole thing is we got to unlock clues for the next Has lab. Hey, I don't think we can say the date, but the date has been announced to us and to other people. They know a date. I was like, wait. They know the date. They know we're going to launch it. And all I can say, all my liberty to say is, I think it's sooner than people think. Sure. Right? Yeah. What month are we in?
We're in August. It's August. Yeah. Oh, boy. Yeah. It's soon. It's soon. So listen, we know what the Has lab is. We're just going to say obviously. Yeah. And it's amazing. Like, we, now nobody told us, but through. Yeah, but also it's pretty. It's not. What's the verb? It's not a well hidden secret if you look at the Hasbro Has lab logo. It's pretty simple. So they released the logo on Ghostbusters day and then we did all this trivia and unlocked some clues. There's some keys.
There's some slime and maybe it's in the other room. And maybe those clues point to what the tears are going to be. I don't know. But it's not possible. Well, I think the tears are going to come from the collecting community. Tears of happiness. Tears of joy when they see this Has lab. I told 20 Taylor, I was going to send him that mug. He likes it so much. Oh, he was like, wow, you're just going to give away. Have he? And no, because we're recording right now, I'm going to say that's a gift to.
But, grudging me, I do collect mugs. That's okay. Um, actually, um, Trader Brandon on Instagram, um, created that mug and you can order the, the, I saw her walk statue, Liberty mug from his Etsy stores. It's a great mug. It's great mug. Um, I do like the idea of, I like these crazy things happen in the world of Ghostbusters. People would be making merch, right? There's probably, you know, a t-shirt that said I survived Garaka 2024.
Yeah. It's much like at like near the bus line, but far enough from San Diego Comic-Con, you find the knockoff shirts. Exactly. Um, so anyways, that was really fun. Any, uh, any other thoughts we did really well on the trivia? Uh, I liked, uh, helping out and doing some stuff with Hasgro and, you know, maybe we'll do more. Yeah, it was, it was fun to feel official and, and, and to walk up those steps and be in a chill area. Like, you know, it's nice and chill.
It's not, you can kind of watch the convention happen from. I'm sure of the mess. High above the normal, you know, non-special folks of Comic-Con and it was great. Yeah. I'm not, not bragging at all. It just, it was nice for somebody. No, I am. Jacob's bragging. I'm trying to say as somebody who gets like anxiety from large crowds and being around people, it was a really nice moment to come up and be like, holy shit. That's what I've been out in. Like, I'm so glad I'm up here right now.
Right. Oh, and also Jordan Hembrough, the toy hunter was up there like, I don't know. That on us. Ryan Ting was wearing a referee shirt. Something crazy was going on. Yeah. And it was cool to talk to all of that. You know, I talked to Ryan for a little bit. It was just cool to hang out and in a chill environment. Chill environment. But anyways, going to hold it was all great. All that to be, all that being said, I should say, I'm very excited about this Haslap project.
I will be a day one backer. Me too. Don't be confused. I might be buying two of them. Why would you buy two of one Haslap? You'll see. You'll have fun. You'll have to find out. All right. So that was really cool. Abby, anything else on that? No, I really enjoyed doing the stream. I like mentioned this in my story. It felt like I was finally living out my like MTV VJ spring break moment because something about you were just you can't. You were just you can't. I was finally just you can't.
And I was I really enjoyed that. Yeah, it was fun. They had a very professional setup with camera and lighting and, you know, you know, yeah, they're giving you and stuff. So yeah, it was really cool. What was the other guy? Who was the guy that came in second and want to be a VJ and ended up having a much better career? Dave Holmes. Dave. Yeah, yeah. Holmes, he did say what karaoke? Did he? Sorry. Yeah, I'm not going to say that like it's a question. I'm pretty sure he does. I don't know.
He's like, I think he was in the phone. I love you, Holmes. Say what? We've been watching real quick. We've been watching. There's a new documentary on Netflix, three part series about Lou Pearlman, the guy who like created the Backstreet Boys in Insane and then screwed everybody out of money. Yeah, that's what I'm wearing. And this place. How is that? Is it pretty good? It's pretty good. Yeah, like, I mean, I know a lot of the story, but it's, it's pretty, you know, pretty fascinating.
It actually made me think we should start a boy band. There's a lot of money in that. Dave Holmes confirmed. It was a lot of money in that. It's coming back. I don't think there is anymore. It's over. Damn. Yeah, so boy bands are over. We missed our boy band. I mean, yeah. Yeah, that type of like, yeah, that uncomfortable type where they're being taken advantage of financially, definitely asked us.
That was a core component that made Backstreet Boys so popular as they were being taken advantage of financially. Everyone of their songs is secretly about that. Like I want it that way. That's actually about, they're like, I want money in my bank account. That's right now. That's how I want it. Yeah, so people don't know about that. Cool. So yeah, Comic Con was great. What other personal highlights for either of you besides any of the toy related stuff? Yeah, a lot of Godzilla stuff.
And there were two like professional style Godzilla costumes. Yeah. Guys walking around for photo ops at the Godzilla booth. They were really, I mean, they're so good that I was like, are these screen used? Right. But they did have a big glass case with three screen used heads from Godzilla costumes. And I just thought that that was amazing. And it was cool to be able to see that in person.
So yeah, Godzilla is such a presence right now in pop culture always has, but it just feels like it's crazy. It's getting bigger, right? Yeah. And I wasn't expecting it. I wasn't expecting to see that. And there was Godzilla had just his own booth set up. That wasn't about anyone specific thing. It had toys for multiple brands in it had the costume pieces, like all kinds of info. There was the giant, you know, like the statue there, the guys in the costumes.
And then directly across from the Godzilla booth was the Subaru booth, which was all ultra man. And they had people in ultra man costumes and a giant like 10 foot tall inflatable ultra man watching over the crowd. And as he should, that's crazy. It's just crazy to walk in and be like, what? What? I loved it. Yeah. It was my favorite. It was like right in the middle of the, the con floor. It was cool. Yeah. That was great. That was good.
Yeah, I was able to have fun and enjoy it, relish it at a few moments. Like when I was outside, I had like a classic convention moment where there were two girls that were like trying to take their own photo. And they were like, we take our picture. It was like, they both had really cool still suits on. And I like dropped down and got the angle. And I was like, here you go, you're welcome. They were like, she's cool. I was like, yeah. It's those are your cool. I know. I made that part up.
I like to think that they said I was cool. Right. They were like, she's a problem. I wonder if it's a lot of the dragon con. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah, lots of Godzilla. Lots of great artwork. You know, so I'm going to live that life size T. Rex head. Oh, yeah. Rex head from like the prettiest, glossiest tongue. Um, I want to make my bed in it. Just like sleeping and everything on that. Yeah. Let's talk about that. Elite creature collectibles. Is that the name of that company? Oh, I think so.
Yeah. They are doing. Yeah, they're doing some really amazing stuff. I think they've been at Comic Con before. But one of the things is always cool stuff. Yeah. They are doing a two third scale library ghost based on the frozen empire sculpt. The Aryan Tutans sculpt. And that was really surprising because like, you know, it's Ghostbusters. And with Ghostbusters, it's usually slimer or stay puffed.
So to be walking through Comic Con to see like an amazing library ghost, I was like, that is really, I felt seen. I felt heard. Very cool. I wonder what that thing's going to cost. I heard rumor of the asteroid. I heard rumor of $1,500. Okay. Okay. That's kind of reasonable. It looks like it should be expensive. That seems reasonable for something like that. Yeah. Hey, can I ask a question? So we talked about the Mondeau. Now let me get a little discussion topic that I just went on.
We talked a lot about the Mondeau real ghostbusters figures on toy anxiety this week. Hot button topic. There are people. Vian. What's the word? Viamitly. Viamitly. There you go. Why couldn't I get there? I'm happy you should have just let him just let him keep going. Try to figure it out on his own. There are people. It's not that I don't know the word. I could probably spell it. But I was like, we planted and grew our own crop of sad comments.
I think it's probably VIEHME, ANT, LY, something like that. Oh my God. We're still talking about this. But there's another word like hyroglyphics is always hard for me to get out of my goddamn mouth for some reason. Anyway. I don't know if you could get that word a lot. Well, when I'm studying. I was in Egyptian studies major in college. I was. None of that. That was all fake. I have been on the Momi ride several times. So we're good there. Oh, I just got excited for Halloween hornets.
Okay. Let me stay back on topic. Mondeau real ghostbusters. People are very, you know, some are very stressed and angry about the price. Other people are going get over it. They're toys. They cost what they cost. You either get them or you know, there's a lot of back and forth. We're not going to play in the mud. I'm excited about them. Nobody's sending me anything. I will be buying them day one. Might buy two sets. You never know.
But somebody made a comment on YouTube that I thought was kind of interesting. You know, one thing we, we and other toy tubers talk a lot about is that if prices and issue on a lot of these items, payment plans are available on a lot of different websites. Or you could break it up over like four months or six months or seven months. This is not new. Side show does it. These are not credit based normally.
It's like you might pay like maybe 15, 20 bucks extra in the long run, but it just allows you to instead of dropping $400 on a statue today, you can space it out over time, right? And somebody had left a comment saying that it was irresponsible for people to promote the plans because it's your, your, because we have influence. And we're trying to convince people who can't afford this stuff that they should afford it and just call me. Like we're being called as Bury.
Yeah. Was this, was this a comment on our? It was on YouTube. Yeah. Yeah. And it got you. Did you, did you, um, did you tell them to fuck off and roll up? No, Jacob, we have very different styles of handling things. Oh. Well, let me look directly to the camera here. If somebody is old enough to apply for a payment plan or a credit card and that's what they want to do, then they're going to do it and, uh, fuck off.
I mean, my thing is this is like, I do agree like, uh, toys and collectibles in general, like, although I do, it is my favorite hobby and it brings, it's good for my mental health and it, it's connected me to basically all of my friends and my wife in my life and like, he's done nothing but positive things for me. I could go on without toys, like it's not something you need to sustain life, but that's most things, right? Right. They're acting like we're lobbyists though.
Like we're, like cigarettes or something like we're promoting something terrible. It's not healthy and it's like, it's the fucking boogie man. Right. It's a fucking ghost. It's really well made. It's a really nice egon that's actually taller than Peter. Like that's like that one. It's like that one time that guy got mad at us for doing that soda commercial for, uh, oh yeah. That guy told us we shouldn't be promoting soda because it's harmful. I'm like, grow the fuck what year are you in?
1942. Fuck you. Jesus shit. He must work for Chouli's gum. You know, but it, listen, the discussion, I listened, healthy discussion back and forth. Everybody has their opinions. Everyone's entitled their opinions. Some of the takes have been really interesting. That was one of the takes where I was like, man, like I use payment plans all the time. Even if I have the money, it's still, it's, well, it just makes it easier. It makes it easier. It makes it easier to manage.
Like it's not that just because you're using a payment plan doesn't mean you can't afford the thing. It just like, it makes it more widely available for people. Yeah. It's easier to use a payment plan and only, you know, if you're only having to pay like 50 bucks a month or something, it just makes it more manageable and it takes the stress off of other things. It's just easier. But also, I get it.
Any financial analyst in the world would say it's a bad idea to do that and also a bad idea to buy the thing. They also, yeah, but sure, yeah, it's not, no, fuck them. Fuck any of those. This is a fucking toys. Look at our pit. Look at our thing. It's only a bad thing. It is only a bad thing if you can't keep up with your payments and you can't pay it off. The money that you're spending on the toy is keeping you from paying your rent or eating or something.
If you can do all that, if you can do all that shit and buy his toys, there is nothing bad about that and anybody who says it is are probably the same people who say, saying fuck is bad. Get those people out of your life because they're garbage. Nice things. Yeah. Fuck you, dude. Go full-frened. Jacob's going to surf out on like a side panel from the stage. Yeah, dude. No, you should. I like that. You said that. I'm just saying.
Yeah. No. Another one of the weird takes out was, listen, there's like 98 comments in our video that it was one of our most viewed videos. I stopped reading. Yeah, I stopped. Right. I stopped. New videos. We got so many comments. I can't wait to read. But another thing is people, like a couple people were saying, because I don't want to talk about this on Toying's ID next week because of that. It's like, I feel like YHS is a safer space. Yeah, this is a safer space.
I would like to talk about it with Ryan. Well, yeah, because he'll go, he's worse than you. He'll say what he really feels. Yeah, and you can't edit the live thing. You can sense or me, which I hate, but you can't. No, but seriously, he, he, not heat. I saw some people saying that somebody called us want to be journalists. And I was like, I have never once in saying that we should have more like integrity. Like, you guys, my loyalty is to the brand of Ghostbusters. My loyalty is not to Mondo.
My loyalty is not to Hasbro or Neka or Super Seven. We have friends at all of these companies. My fandom is Ghostbusters. One thing that Ghostbusters has had a severe lack of over the last 30 years compared to other IPs and other brands is premium quality collectibles. This what I've never bought one Ghostbusters Spirit Halloween item because they're not for me. That's okay.
There's plenty of people out there who lose their minds over all the spirit equipment and the jackets and the badges and the decorations and all that. And that's great. That's not my lane. My lane is I want high quality stuff and that comes with a price point. That's just the way it is. Like and that's, that's across the board for all brands. Somebody made a really good point in the comments. I didn't think we're going to get into this, but it's fine. Somebody made a really great point.
Like, if you're a master's of the universe fan, you have had 10 different options of masters of the universe action figures for the last 20 years. Super premium, mid-level, low-level, dollar store. Like Ghostbusters, a specifically real Ghostbusters hasn't had that. So this is the thing. Expensive. But I'm excited about them. I'm going to buy them. I'm going to display them and a lot of people will. And other people won't. Some people will only get one set or two sets.
Some people will buy the two pack and sell the figure and just keep the Ghosts. Like everybody's collecting strategy, budget and rules are completely different. And that's what makes it fun. What makes it not fun are people who just lose their fucking minds and point the finger and say, you're wrong for doing this. You should be holding the toy companies accountable. Guys, I have, I hold accountability to myself, my friends, my loved ones. We support each other. We love each other.
I don't have time to hold Hasbro or Mondo or Nike or whoever else is overcharging for whatever product they make accountable. I just can buy it or not buy it. That's all I can think of. I think everyone needs to work on just using the phrase and accepting good for you, not for me. I love that. That's good. I would quote from her book, yes, please. But yeah, just to be like good for you, not for me, just not necessarily my thing and move on.
And that's a hard thing with the internet being what it is. Well, it is. And I think the problem is, is that it's a lot of people's thing. And the price point does carve out a very specific, you know, it might not be in everyone's budget. Yeah. It's not in my budget, but I'm going to either sell something or save up money or do a payment plan. What? That's it. Yeah. I'm going to talk about them a lot over the next couple of months because I'm very excited about it. Okay. Nothing else on that.
We're good. Yeah. Okay. Cool. Should we talk about Marvel? Should we just do it? Yeah. Let's do this project. All right. So there's a lot of Marvel news coming out of San Diego, Comic Con. Full transparency. We did not go to the Hall H panel. I'm going to start to get, I'm listening, if we really wanted to maybe actually not this year because we had a lot of obligations Saturday. We had our panel and our Hasbro stuff. But like for the people who camp out, awesome.
Hey, I'm going to try to have a good for you. Yeah. Good for you. Not for me. I was happy enough to sit in the hotel room and scroll through Twitter and refresh as the news came out. We were in bed as the news came out. It was kind of nice. Yeah. So what we thought we would do because we haven't had a fuck budget in a while, we are going to do a classic YHS fuck budget all about the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I will say this.
We have all seen Deadpool and Wolverine and we're probably going to get into some spoiler territory. So here's your spoiler warning. We are going to be talking about the MCU. We are going to talk about Deadpool and Wolverine. We all saw it together. Thursday night, the Comic Con was a lot of fun.
So if you're not familiar with the fuck budget, five topics, Abigail and Jacob, we each have 10 fucks total to allocate to each one based on their level of interest and excitement or their lack thereof excitement, right? So this is all about allocating fucks. There's a banker. We don't know. We've ever met him, but he is stingy and you're not going to be able to borrow any fucks. There's no tagging anybody in. It's not like Ghostbusters trivia. Are we ready? Mm hmm.
Yes. I like to imagine we get the fucks from the Greengots Bank at Universal. Oh, yeah. But we have to steal. Yes. I can't tell you. It's the banker from Dealer No Deal, like the guy in the shadows up in the corner, corner of the house. Okay. We're going to get into this MCU fuck budget. The Marvel Cinematic Universe established 2008. Still going strong. We'll see. No. There's the spoiler. They're going. Yeah. Let's go in. They're going. Did you see that thing with Jamie Lee Curtis this week?
No. In some interview, they were like, they're like, what's, I don't know how it came up or what the interview was, but somebody asked you, what's the current phase of the MCU calling it to it? Bad. No. I can love her. She probably should chill out until that Borderlands movie comes out. Oh, shit. It ain't, I don't think it's going to do so well. Guardians of the Borderlands. Yeah, yeah, that's 100%. Do you do? Love? Yeah, the whole thing looks just like.
Okay. I love Jamie Lee Curtis from the most recent season of the bear, so I will support her. Yeah. She was also in Halloween kills and ends and other movies. Let's get on to this. Jake, I'll start with you. Okay. The first topic, Deadpool Wolverine, ladies and gentlemen, the MCU, the high school, the already movie of all time. How many fucks do you give? Oh, wow. I gave it to, I gave it to fucks. I really enjoyed it. I thought it was really great.
I've watched some clips on YouTube of people filming it with their phones, which I don't condone that. No. There's been controversy about that. Um, I, it's a movie I kind of want to watch again. I give it to almost two confused fucks because I really loved it. I had a great time. I really loved it and I was really, really happy to see so many like weird, deep cut references that were things I never would have thought would have been on film.
But in thinking about the movie, part of me has been like, what was it about? You know what I mean? And I, and I'm, I'm doing that thing where I'm like, I need to go see it again because part of me is like so, I was so excited for all the crazy stuff that was happening that it's like, did all that stuff kind of overshadow, you know, the rest of the, the actual plot of the movie and like, I would never say it was a, that I thought the movie was bad or not fun or anything. I thought it was great.
Deadpool, they're all three great films. But it's like there was almost a little too much, you know, fan service and crazy shit happening that it like makes you not look at the movie critically because you don't have time to, you know what I mean? So now when I'm out of the movie, I'm like, it was pretty convoluted here or this didn't make any sense or this was only done so they could put that, you know what I mean?
So like part of me is having those thoughts where I'm like, oh, I need to go see it again. But also part of me doesn't care because Wolverine was awesome and, and, and you know, all the other Wolverines that popped up were really cool and, I want to ask you specifically before we get to Abby, I know we're all big fans of the movie Logan and we were a little bit concerned like, okay, Logan's dead, you're going to undo that.
It's, it's explained early on through a very funny sequence of Deadpool using that Logan's decayed bones that the Wolverine in this movie is not the Logan that we knew and love from the original X-Men universe, which I was surprised. I guess I wasn't expecting that for some reason. I just wasn't.
Yeah. I was a big, I said it a lot, you know, on this show that I didn't like that they were bringing Hugh Jackman back because for one, Logan was great and that was a good sendoff, not just for that character, but for Hugh Jackman specifically as that character.
And also like Marvel is doing this really weird thing right now where, you know, they've been teasing mutants in X-Men joining the MCU for years and years now and now it seems like it's, that's on their back burner and they're not even mentioning it anymore. And I would rather have a new Wolverine and the X-Men join the MCU for real instead of like random appearances of the Fox X-Men in these movies. But it's like I would rather them not do that, but also the movie was great.
So it's like I can't be too mad about it, especially if like if they're not going to get around to mutants for another couple of years, then what's the harm in it? Right. But it does leave a little bit of a damper on Logan for me, bringing him back even though it's not the same Wolverine, that's not the point. It is Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. So there's a little bit of that, but it's not so bad.
All right, Abby, I'll go to you and I do want to say the post credit scene from the Marvel's that featured Beast, it has been confirmed that that is the same universe as the Logan from Deadpool and Wolverine. It takes place before that like two years. So that beast is dead. All right. Confirmed. How do you know? Yeah. Hey. Um, okay. So for this, I easily gave this film five bucks.
So that's a lot and I understand it, but I base my experience on the emotions that are elicited while I'm in the theater, the way that feeling carries me the next couple of days, whether or not I think about it. Um, and I have to say like despite this movie taking place in kind of a loophole timeline, just to make it happen, I was there for it from the beginning. There's just I Ryan Reynolds is Deadpool is probably my favorite superhero. My favorite character like based, I love the first one.
I love the second one. Um, I love his relationship with I can't remember the girlfriend's name. It, um, there's something about him Vanessa about like the struggle that he goes through, the pain that he goes through and the trauma just to like acquire his skills and like the not giving a fuck about anything like sense of humor. Um, I just relate to it and I really love him in that role. And I also really love Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and I love Logan and it was tough.
I remember Jacob, you sent us pictures of your tears like in a selfie like it was a really hard job. He saved them. Uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, my bedside. No, um, it's, it was a, uh, it was something that, um, that movie was significant. It got me even more into X-Men and over the last year, two years, um, three years maybe I, I've gotten into X-Men, the animated series, um, with X-Men 97 coming out. I just some like foaming at the mouth for Wolverine and for any connection to X-Men.
Um, so yeah, having two super charismatic hot dudes like giving each other shit and like succeeding and bonding like it's a, it's, it's my recipe. Like I love that. I am so here for the homo erotic jokes and all of that shit. Like I fucking love that. I love the people that are getting mad. I've seen, I've seen people be like, well, went to a Disney movie with my kids and had to leave because they won't stop saying fuck and making gay jokes. I'm like, have you explained my kids?
Like, you're gonna find out some point. I never thought I was gonna go to a, um, um, MCU movie and hear the word cunt. It was a variation. It was a variation. It was a variation. Hey, I would do a George Lucas. I would start putting cunt in all the old movies. Hey, make that make that of, character's name. Cunts the New Waki tocky, and your Steven Spielberg was editing it. Yeah, you put Cunt in it. Oh, good, good. Fuck you. We're the guardians of the cunt galaxy.
So, I love movie for being sorry, I have to, I have to say serious things. It, I love them. The movie. You're being unapologetically about the bonds that are formed, um, almost like, begrudgingly between friends where it's like, well, these are the fucking people.
I'm stuck with me as well love them and that is the essence of Guardians of the Galaxy volume one and this movie had that to so many degrees That also had a female villain Which I found to be like very menacing and also at the same time Interesting and like dynamic and like there's a chance because is she the cousin of Xavier?
She the sister twin twin twin twin. That's that's interesting to me to see like how a familial tie breaks And I know Jake if you mentioned like it's in a world that's like does it really matter? Is this like what is this I I don't at that point? I just want to be around them so bad that I don't care
What kind of leads we have yeah? I think the I I agree with everything you said Abby and I do think the movie's great and fun And it will it will be a rewatch It's just like It took me a couple days coming out of it before I started being like
What the fuck is a time-ripper what the fuck is a anchor being why did the villain why did she let them go at one point Just to come back in I was just like oh there's so many of those weird little annoying things in the movie that are all specifically like Just so they can have a reason to do this Mm-hmm and it's It's fine. It's ultimately it's fine. It doesn't matter. It's like to pay off his now
I'm like book. Yeah, it's a comic book movie and because of that It's like I can either get annoyed at those things where I can shut up and watch Gambit on an action So yes, oh my god. I just got so excited to remember that like I that's why I need to go I have the desire to go back to the movie theater and watch this I know I might see you in you real quick you haven't get you haven't been able to see and you finally do and
We're still early in the fuck budget. I think this is really good discussion. So Lots of cameos in this movie some expected some not just running them down off the top of my head Chris Evans back As Johnny Storm, which was really great. I thought that was really well played very funny Chaining Tatum Gambit finally probably the one and only time although it's so well received I won't be surprised to see Gambit come back for secret wars or whatever make up another dumb loophole timeline
I don't care. I would watch that Wesley Snipes is played and Jennifer Garner's Electra X 23 was back and It was just a lot of fun like and it's like if you could see the funny thing is is that Once the movie was over and they wrapped it up They're kind of back in that universe and it doesn't feel all that impactful to the MCU as a whole
Right going forward because we already know about the multiverse saga. We already know kind of where it's going I think fantastic for from the little that we know about it is going to be very impactful and we'll get into that maybe a little bit later So overall Loved it. I'm not allocating fucks. I get as many as I want so I'll give it 25 and
No, it was cool. I can't wait to see it again But the question I always ask myself after watching one of these movies is how did this happen with Ryan Reynolds?
How did Van Wilde or Polo this career off? I just don't get it I you just have to do the same thing whenever whenever I have questions about this movie that kind of don't make sense to me like the anchor being stuff Can anchor beings you can pull in an anchor being from another universe and and now it's fine because you stole a Wolverine That doesn't make any sense Does Wolverines is he the anchor being in his universe or no?
Because if he is what in that universe I don't know is x23 the same x23 from Logan right right or no? Yeah, you have to just not think about it or just have to be like no It's not a lot. It doesn't matter show 90% of Wolverines and every universe are Hugh Jackman one is Henry Cavill Well, that's always that is always been that's a thing Annoying thing to me with the MCU is is that They you know, Dr. Strange is doctor. It's it's it's it looks like him in every fucking universe
But you know, we see mr. Fantastic is The fucking Jim from the office and now he's they just do whatever they want, you know, there's no rules Now he's Jim from the Mandalorian Jim Mandalorian all right, let's get into this Abby. I'll start with you the big reveal at the end of of
The hall H panel Robert Donnie Jr. Are we doing number two? Yeah, thank you Okay, I figured Robert Donnie Jr. Is back in the MCU officially He snapped Thanos out of existence back at the end of 2019 and in game as Iron Man and now he's back his doctor doom Before anybody tells you they know what this means or how it's gonna go they don't They don't know if it's a Tony Stark variant. They don't know if it's just Victor Von Doom. They don't know
Will know two years having said that Abigail. How do you feel about Robert Donnie Jr. returning to the MCU? And this is exactly verbatim when I wrote down one fuck I guess um, I just It's a you know, okay, so yeah Robert Donnie Jr. Great actor brings Gravity and an amazing performance to a film. So yeah, good
That's good and also do I miss old Marvel a little bit? Yeah, I do so it would be nice to see some familiar faces But I am not familiar with the doctor doom storyline enough to like have a Justified answer as to whether this works or this doesn't work I'm just giving it the one fuck to be like okay if they're trying to improve things this could improve It could also just be like look at the thing you do is to love who knows. I don't know what's gonna go
Yeah, that's an astute observation on all fronts. I really enjoyed that one of your better fuck budgets. I've ever heard Jacob Hey, I also gave it two fucks, but they're like two really confused folks because at the time At the time it was an exciting thing and I was like well, that's a bit we talked about it. Well it leaked
You know it was rumors right right me and you had a conversation about it. I think You know a couple days before comic-con or something and how Crazy of a swing that would be if that were true But it seems like something they would never try to do So then when you found out they did do that It first you're like holy fuck that's insane, but then the more you think about it It's like why what why because if he's not a Tony Stark variant
Then why would he look like Robert Downey Jr. at all also dr. Doom doesn't take his mask off ever That's his defining characteristic is that he can't take his fucking mask off um, you know So maybe Robert Downey Jr. You know you see him before he gets to the point where he's wearing a mask
I don't know it seems like a really weird thing to do are there not other actors out there that could play dr. Doom Yeah, of course there are so why recycle You know somebody that Was the biggest star of the MCU because the movies are falling apart and not doing well And you just feel in need to it's like stunt casting right um
But it could be cool. So I don't want to say anything like Deadpool was great the the trailer, you know for the new captain america looks very promising Like things that are coming up that we're hearing about it's all kind of promising So it's I'm really hoping That they're turning it back around and maybe the next couple of things that are happening are gonna be good And maybe dr. Doom will be awesome, um But all of my folks are kind of low because
Just how I feel about the MCU right now. It's just like it's such in the hate in the words of Deadpool. It's at a low point Yeah Kind of excited about it cautiously optimistic. I mean I have a feeling it will relate somehow back to Tony Stark in some kind of way. Yeah as they close out the multiverse saga I'm assuming we'll see dr. Doom in a post credit scene for fantastic four Uh, the fantastic four footage from comic con did leak it keeps getting posted to take it down
We're not gonna talk about it, but it looks cool. I said I have it all I watched it and Abby. I'll find it for you But that and it's just a teaser that they made four comic con um because it just started filming right the aesthetic The like retro feature aesthetic Jetson style I love it. I'm all about it. I really like the cast so
Again, this will lead us into our next item. Jacob. I'll go to you Joe and Anthony Russo the architects of the most successful portion of the MCU starting with winner soldier into civil war and then both Avengers movies infinity game and infinity game They have been looking for a director. They've done some shuffling the king dine at what did I tweet? King of the shortest dynasty uh Russo's are back for these two Avengers movies. How many fucks do you give?
Uh One I just I don't really care um this is also stunt directing Uh, you know, this is like hey marvel Literally everything I just said about Robert Downingen here marvel universe and the movies are falling apart They're not doing well deadpool made more money in one day than their last theatrical movie did and it's entire run That is um So they're like we have to get the ruse back um And you know, hopefully it's a good thing, but also I just I don't know whatever like
I try I've gotten to a point with MCU where if I think about these things too much. I just make myself Restraided because I'm like all right. Well, dr. Dooms a fantastic for villain But in the first fantastic for movie we're gonna get galactus which should be way bigger than just one movie And then your next Avengers film is straight To you know, Thanos Thanos got years of build up
Right dr. Dooms not gonna get any build up. He's just gonna have an Avengers film built around him Immediately and then the next movie is secret wars which is has to do with with him, but Not entirely so it's like
I don't know man. I just I hope they have a good plan and I hope they know what they're doing and I and I hope it's fun for right now I'm just gonna give it one fuck Or else I'll drive myself crazy Yeah, I did read today That all of the marvel and again, this is remember but all of the marvel Shows and movies that happen in between the two Avengers movies will take place in battle world Uh battle world being uh where the secret wars
Mortal Kombat competition takes place. So uh That's my limited novice knowledge of comic book history coming right to the forefront but Okay Abigail Rousseau's back how many fucks do you give yeah? All right, I give two fucks for good writers um because I think that good writing is important I think that the ruse of brothers have done uh their track record is amazing For making compelling stories that like highlight all the characters and their best ways and also our heartwarming and
Making cry a little bit and funny. So I um I give this two fucks. I have the fucks to give. I'm allotting them um I think one of the ruse's may have come in and ate at the restaurant that I work at at some point on the patio Yeah, yeah, I remember texting the group and I was like y'all What is the ruse was sitting outside um yeah, I went out and like tried to refill water, but he didn't need it so I was just like Cool cool guy um then I went back in yeah, so I think it's good
It's good the writing and the story is the paramounts the most important thing to a movie in my opinion. So um good. I'm glad they brought the team back Yeah, and the original writers so Joe and Anthony directed those movies they were right they were written by a team they're that they Kind of their co-conspirators
Christopher Marcus and Stephen McFeely. I don't know if they're both back or not. I kind of agree with you I'm again, I'm on both sides of it It's exciting to me because I can watch Infinity War and endgame any day of the week I think those movies are fucking awesome. I think they're really well executed their emotional their They're great actions great all that stuff um it does feel a little bit like Course correction and we know this wasn't the original plan and
But their track record and the MCU is really good. So I don't have any reason to doubt it. I agree with that um Craig I think um now it's been a while since I've Read a comic book but I think Maybe we can call Ryan. Maybe we can get right on phone um
I think battle world is kind of like the whole secret worst thing. It's I feel like it's less of like a mortal combat situation and is more of like like when I watch Deadpool and they're in the void And there's like multiple versions of every you know how they're like we've never had a Wolverine here before you know different versions That's kind of like what battle world is there's like multiple versions of superheroes
You know on the planet at one time and it's because it's like a world that's sort of accidentally created from all these weird
Yeah, I'm on the wiki right now battle. I'm sure they're changing it up because they can't be The void because they just gave us that they just gave us the void right but but when we were watching Deadpool I was like oh this is kind of like the secret world Okay, this is what I was so battle world patchwork world made from remnants of destroyed realities following the multiverse as collapse from the
incursions created by dr. Doom Yada yada yada We know secret wars and then I think what I was thinking of is known as the contest of champions Which I believe is part of yeah, probably um so Hey sounds like a hell of a lot of fun Uh, we'll see if they pull it off Um, okay started with you is it back to you have a go Yeah, you started with Jake the last two times if you want to start with me
Stick with MCU once again the rumors are here again. This happens every couple years Tom Cruise Rumored to play an Ironman variant in secret wars The same Tom Cruise that is going to be skydiving into the closing ceremonies of the Olympics this weekend onto a couch You didn't hear about this
No, that's the only thing I want to talk about because I The next one I next the Olympics are in Los Angeles and this one's in Paris so Tom Cruise is doing a big stunt to officially welcome the Olympics back to the United States and what I said is the only way to make it even better Is if he skydives in and then the lights go off spot light Who's that in the middle of the field west boarland That's right with biscuit is playing
Cuz what better way to walk people in the world the day. Yeah, that's what I'm saying My way my way of the highway. Yeah, that's how they play a whole concert. Oh
That would be awesome. Yeah, but anyways. We'll see what happens Abigail Tom Cruise do you know I mean my way or the highway I give this Is zero fucks just I mean I already said I didn't give a fuck what I wrote down was please become an a Celestial alien or whatever Scientology teaches you Tom Cruise because I don't want to see you in movies anymore Um, so you don't understand Scientology You can be a Christian to be a Scientologist. I don't want to yeah, um, I just yeah
I don't I don't love him as a human being. I think he's entertaining and has like really chaotic energy Um, but yeah, no, I don't want him in the MCU Mm-hmm. In any way, Shaeber form. I guess maybe I'm thinking about the dark universe too much and like that makes me Feel like I'm like always are Yeah
Jacob. So yeah, it's zero fucks easy Um, I also gave it zero fucks because I don't think this is a real rumor I don't think there's any substantial anything for it nor do I think the last um Tom Cruise in the MCU you
Thing was real. I just think it people thought it was cool and it was born out of like a meme It was born out of like weird photoshopps where people imagined What the Avengers movies would have looked like in the 90s and then it just turned whenever they started doing multiverse stuff people were just like hey, maybe Tom Cruise, you know, just turned into a thing I don't think that was ever a real thing and and this is just because They're like hey, Dr. Doom is gonna be Robert Dendi, Jr
So that means there's gotta be a Tony Stark in that universe, right? Maybe it's Tom Cruise I don't think it's I don't think this is a real. I don't think there's anything to back this up And if there is don't tell me there is because I want to sound like I'm I feel like you're looking it up right now Craig you know like nope real thing somebody said it No, I mean no, I just think it's all the rumor Yeah, but it's I don't but I don't think it the you know, it's not
Orgents of the rumor aren't not from a substantial source. Yeah, it's just somebody said hey, I bet Tom Cruise is gonna be it And he's cut to three years from now. We're watching secret wars Tom Cruise shows up and I stand up ago Rogue isn't Tom Cruise like almost 80 or something he's getting old he know he can't be something he can't be Yeah, I don't give fucks to rumors. Oh Oh Proof that Tom Cruise has a heart. Okay guys
I would like to see Tom Cruise in the MCU. Well, can I say all right number five the last We touched on this a little bit earlier, but the last piece of the fuck budget this week Jacob Walsh Yeah, mutants teased that San Diego Comic Con 2019 Along with Fantastic Four
We're finally getting Fantastic Four in 2025 But with secret wars and doomsday ahead it doesn't look like we will see an X-Men movie in the MCU at the earliest Till 2028 meaning 20 years after the start of the Marvel Cinematic Universe
When it comes to no X-Men in the MCU and having to wait another four years how many fucks do you give I gave it the rest of my Fox five annoyed hateful folks the hateful folks It's so annoying and and I think Marvel has kind of I think they figured it out and I was kind of surprised that they didn't
On their panel at Comic Con that they didn't have the big You know calendar and plot it out what the movies are for the next five years because they think they have finally learned That that is a bad model because they can never live up to it never it never It never comes out like they say it was so they were like Yeah, so they were like hey, we're only gonna tell you about three things and two of those things are already filming So right there are filmed earth all three of them actually so So
So yeah, so the fact that they are not even mentioning mutants anymore Um, it's so annoying and I I a hundred percent think Hugh Jackman is gonna be Wolverine and at least one more film. I you know, there's of course he winds up in secret wars Maybe not in doomsday, but secret wars is gonna have Deadpool and Wolverine and it just is yep, and I Like whatever if that's the only X-Men we're gonna get for
However long then sure fine, but it is so annoying to me that they announced it so long ago And there's like you know been a few Teases here and there, but it's mainly fox stuff right so I'm hoping now that Deadpool's out and they have officially Put the fox universe, you know behind them other than Hugh Jackman Then maybe they can maybe they can get something going here, but So we're just walking and going maybe maybe this fantastic for you know fantastic for
Are from a different universe, right? They're not I know it's also takes place in the past, but I don't think No, it's a it's a not the six one six universe Yeah, right. So maybe the X-Men exist in their universe and they'll be like
Or maybe the yeah, maybe they'll be like, hey, why don't you guys call the X-Men? Yeah, yeah, they can be like wait who the X-Men Like I don't know I'm just I'm gonna say this Wolverine Hugh Jackman He's gotten better at that role over time and I think there's a chance his performance in this last movie was was his best
I mean, he's just awesome. So um also with the amount of money it's making won't be surprised if Deadpool and Wolverine do Is out, you know before secret wars, so hey, I read a thing
I didn't read a thing. I watched a video with Ryan Reynolds where he said Originally this movie was gonna be called Deadpool and friend Yep, and they changed it the night before the Super Bowl because online it was getting really bad people hated it Right, so they you know the trailer came out with a Super Bowl and they were like we have to change it Yeah
I think that's funny. Yeah, and then that's annoying that that people that's one of my least favorite things when the test audience is like Oh, no, I don't get that yeah, I don't get it that would have been funnier
I'm good. How many fucks all right. Yeah, much like Jacob here. I gave this um Two fucks all the fucks I had left Too very spiteful annoyed Emo fucks because I think as I've discovered X-Men over the last couple years here I think they are the most compelling stories the most relatable the most important I think that there's a ton of like um like metaphor and really great like Social commentary political commentary and shit that goes in behind the scenes of X-Men
But then there's also just like the fucking awesome romances and like interest and intrigue between really amazing like flawed characters And I just think it's so much better than Avengers Um, I would love to see live action X-Men. I've been pining for it. I want to see rogue. I want to see I what we saw from Deadpool and Wolverine was not enough um, so yeah, I'm a little bit pissed off much like you Jacob. I just I want to see
And and I don't I want to have it explained. I don't like having things being kind of like swept under the rug and just not talked about ever again Yeah That's it. I don't want politics in my X-Men you know um somebody online will say that Oh, yeah, I agree man. I'm excited. What what on the flip side what what excites me is we are approaching 20 years of the MCU
And we're just now getting into fantastic form we haven't even started with X-Men. So there's a really bright future And also they haven't brought back Chris Evans as Captain America Which is what I'm personally waiting for because I'm a fan Uh, no, let's not actually let's let let's let's let sleep in dog's lie as they say right let's create some new iconic characters and heroes How about you want to grab him out of his like perfect timeline with his girl and everything and yeah
We need you cap give him another story. I don't think I will um I'm excited. MCU's got a bright future. Hopefully. I think they're making the right Uh, the might the right moves to turn around we still have some You know, we've got the witches of Eastwick. What's that show called? Come on? I don't know Agatha Not at yeah, I heard witches. Okay, acolyte all the log Um Oh, yeah, yeah, I know we got the Agatha show coming um Terry Metallis who you might know as the showrunner of Picard um
And he follows yHS on Instagram. Maybe deal. Oh shit. He uh he's the showrunner And for the white vision show that's still Oh, okay So we'll see fun couple years ahead uh guys Worth the end here any final thoughts Abigail I'd have to say that I I'm enjoying this summer and I feel like there's a lot of big things that are culminating um Love watching the Olympics loving a Comic-Con love having a movie in the movie theater that I'm dying to go see again um
I uh, I'm I'm excited about the future. We have a lot to look forward to and I'm I'm really grateful just to be in like a I'm a meaningful like memorable summer. It feels like a really good year and I was just reflexing on that today I'm happy to be in the place we are with the two of you and um Yeah, I can't wait to keep talking. It's what keeps me going and I love it. Cool. Jacob Now she Abby said it
Abby said it in the words of Abby everything she just said all right. Well, I have more to say Uh, I don't except for I just heard that Aerosmith is officially retored uh retored They're joining them for They're canceling their tour and retiring because Steven
Tyler I almost called him Steven vocal Steven Tyler cannot recover from his vocal entry So when we go to Orlando next time I'm getting on that roller coaster that getting on that rock and roller coaster Dream on Jamal I dare you to I want to write it um and so uh farewell to Aerosmith um But you didn't think that's how we did in this episode. No, because we haven't talked about them at all But let's end the show with that Uh also follows on social media at yhz podcast on instagram and x
