Chapter 22:
The merchants disguise Taran and the horses, and hide Ivy in a wagon. When Maddix is about to stop the wagon, Bard appears as a wolf. Maddix and his men attack, Bard is injured, and Taran turns to wolf to defend him. Princess Arden appears, using her healing magic on Bard. The curse is broken, but Bard chooses to reunite with the wolf to save the wolf's life.
