Welcome back to the Y.E.S. Longevity Podcast #80. Scientists have been studying the health benefits of sauna bathing for decades. An ongoing study known as the Kuopio Ischemic Heart Disease Risk Factor Study (KIHD) has examined how frequent sauna bathing as a leisurely activity happened to affect common disease risks such as cardiovascular disease, coronary heart disease, stroke, all-cause mortality and longevity. This information is very beneficial not only to the person who can or does exercise but also those who cannot exercise for orthopedic or health reason. Sauna bathing is typically okay for a healthy individual but always check with your physician first.
