Where are we at in society today? Come after me. I'm a man, I'm forty. Go ahead, make my day every single week. I put my freaking heart and soul into this. I don't go out there and laugh. It's not funny. Nothing's funny to me. I don't wanna go out there and get embarrassed on Monday night football for everybody, I think this at the beginning of a beautiful friendship. So I ain't nothing changed from yesterday. Still the same person I was yesterday, and I got the same thing

for you that I had yesterday. You know why I'm here. You play to win the game. You don't play to just play it. That's a great thing about sports. You play to win, and I don't care if you don't have any wins. You go play to win. When you start telling me it doesn't matter to retire, get out for the matters, Yeah, like we said yesterday, it really matters when you're playing in the Division

two, doesn't it? Welcome everybody on a Wednesday morning, You get through this day and you are halfway home, right, more than half way home for the week. Meyer hotlines open three eight six six eight three eight forty eight forty three. This is Exus and Bros. Monday through Friday six till nine. Ben is our producer. I'm chef, glad you're with US. Royals blowout the Tigers ten to three. Casey bangs out fifteen hits on the day. Bobby Witt Junior goes nuts three for four, drills two homers,

drives in six swipes a bag. Mike el Garcia goes four for five with three runs scored. Casey mys saddle with the Laws, allowing six runs and nine hits and his shortest outing of his career. Casey maize. In these first five starts, the Tigers were winners. In his last four starts, the Tigers have been losers. He lasted just one and two thirds innings,

and his forty eighth career started with just one and two thirds innings. The six runs allowed a career high nine hits allowed, a career high ugly in more ways than one. We'll get to that coming up. Just how good has Kansas City been? Hey, you know, just because I didn't think they were going to be this good doesn't mean that they're the biggest surprise in

baseball. Maybe we should have seen it coming. I don't know. We know that Bobby Wood Junior is one of the best players in the American League. And that's not saying too much. And I mean that he's really flipping good. Love the way that kid plays. He's a really trust me, he's a really good kid. Doesn't mean you should root for him. I'm just telling you he's really good. Kansas City has now won five in a row. They've now won ten of thirteen. And get this, they're thirty

one wins through fifty games. So thirty one and nineteen thirty one wins through fifteen or through fifty games. That's a plus sixteen from a year ago. That's incredible, an incredible turnaround. Last year, Kansas City hadn't won their ninth series of the season until September. The middle of September, September fifteenth through the seventeenth, the forty eighth series of the year, Kansas City won their ninth series. You follow by beating Detroit yesterday they clinched their ninth series

win. Already You want more, I got it for you. Bobby Witt Junior becomes just the third Royals player ever with two homers, a stolen base, and six RBIs in the game. Who had the other two? Bo Jackson, Carlos Beltron, You are more, We've got more. Bobby Wood Junior is the third shortstop in history, third ever with two homers, a stolen base and six RBIs in a game. Who are the other two? One has a Michigan feel to it. Can you think of it? Cal

Ripken Junior and Barry Larkin who played at the University of Michigan. Bobby Wood Junior's fourteenth career multi homer game or fourteenth career homer and stolen based game. Excuse me. Since twenty twenty two, when he made his debut, he's had fourteen games of a homer in a stolen base in the same game. The only other man to do that since twenty twenty two is Ronald Acune Jr.

That's pretty damn good. And lastly, in Kansas City, even though I've got more, Wit Junior's four hundred and sixty eight foot home run in the second inning off Casey Meis is the third longest homer in the majors this year. The only other guys to hit him further Aaron Judge and Mike Trout. It doesn't matter how long the home run goes who cares of it's if it's out of the ballpark or if it's a wall scraper, no big deal, still counts. It's just really impressive. So the Tigers, what t

hell's wrong with them? Do you have the same feeling sometimes that I do? And that is, if Trek Scooble's not pitching, this team's not winning. Resulson has been unbelievable, but he doesn't have a win and that's not on him either. He's gotten eight runs of support in his nine starts. Jack Flaherty's been really damn good. It's given you innings. Teams aren't hitting very well against him, and yet look at where Detroit is at. Schooble

does pitch today. Tigers have lost three straight series. They've lost twelve of their last seventeen games overall. Remember when they started so strong on the road. I'm sure you do. You felt pretty damn good about what they were doing. I was. It's fantastic. They started the year ten and three on the road. Guess what, They've not lost nine of their last twelve road games. So the problems get deeper. They are two games under five hundred. That is a season worst. When you watch this team. Why

you're watching this team? But when you watch this team, what are you thinking? Seriously, when you watch them, you go, this team is uneventful. They're borderline boring. There's no oomph. Why can't they hit yesterday? Why can't they pitch? Wit not only took My's yard, he took Jason Foley yard. You look at the home runs combined Bibby Wood Junior total eight hundred and ninety three feet of homers. Again, doesn't matter how far they go, but it's so damn impressive. This team is not impressive.

This is not a little bit of a spell. It's not a series, it's not a week. It's been a continuous theme. I'll continue to harp on this because they said it earlier and I believe it. This team should win this division, and they are. They have been a massive disappointment so far. Are you there yet? Are you to the point where you know what? It's no longer early because they're forty eight games deep, playing forty nine tonight, myyer hotline's open for eight six, six, eight three eight

forty eight forty three. You can textas sports Radio to twenty one thousand. We're back with more after this huge here for the Michigan High School Athletic Association. Tigers dot Com Forward Slash Huge Show. Well, you look forward to a game all day long, you look forward to seeing I enjoy watching certain teams play now. I don't know if it's even besides your own team. I guess I've enjoyed Kansas City because they play a different style. For the most part, fast team gets after you on the bases. I'm not going to say last year was special because last year was awful for them, But I do enjoy watching for the most part, certain players on their team. Play

Boys liked Bobby Wood Junior, FINNEYE. Pascantino is a pretty good player. Michael Massey's got some skill. I don't have anybody that just makes you go, oh my gosh, drop whatever you're doing and watch them outside of wit, but they are a team that you enjoy watching. Of course, you want to watch your team more than anybody else. And when you look forward to that and they come up and they do what they did like yesterday, really makes you to turn off. It's no two ways about it. It's

to turn off. And I realize you have to be very careful when it comes to assessing any team right now. You can't go overboard and you know you don't want it. It's hard to buy in with certain teams only because you feel like you've been burned before, and only because there is a certain track record. At some point, teams break the track record. At some point, teams are like, you know what, we've been bad for an

extended period of time, Detroit Lions, and boom they find something. There is some point during last year's Tiger season, maybe it's the year before when they reeled off wins at the end of the year and we're really impressive in doing so. However, at some point last year, you and your buddies got together and said, you know what, I'm going to say the two words that I never thought i'd say. I believe Okay, at some point you said that during the Lion season, and at some point during this Kansas

City Royal season. I'm sure people in Kansas City were doing the same thing. Not saying it's after fifteen games or twenty games, but perhaps now that they've played fifty games. Somebody is saying, I believe with the Tigers, it's the other way around. At some point you're going to say the three words. I don't believe. Where that is, I don't know. For

you. I haven't necessarily reached that point, but it is fair to say you should be concerned that this team is eight and a half games back, that they've lost three in a row, that they've lost three straight series, that they can't seem to put a complete game together on a regular basis. When you and I talk about this, we always understand one primary thing. It's really hard in baseball. It is extremely difficult, extremely challenging to do

it time and time again. And this always goes back to what expectations call for. What were your expectations at the beginning. That's when you know you can be disappointed or not. If you didn't have any for this team because it's not quite there yet, then what they're doing right now two games under five hundred should not bother you. On the other hand, you look at

what Kansas City has done. Guaranteed, most people in Kansas City thought going into the season that it would be that they were hopeful hopeful now that that would be slightly better than last year's fifty six and one hundred and six record. We have this belief in sports for some reason, the teams can only make inc cremental improvements a little bit here, a little bit there, and then we can finally make that jump. But it's not going to come all

at once. Why do we think that, I mean, says who depending on how you improve your team in the offseason, who says you can't do it. I've never believed that. What I do believe is you have to have talent. You and I can talk all we want about how hard a team works, the blood and sweat, the camaraderie, the chemistry, all that stuff, but in the end, if you don't have enough talent, it doesn't mean anything. And when you look at the Tigers, do you

think they have the talent? I would have thought just as much, if not more, than anybody else in the division. Notice I stressed in the division. I'm not saying they have more talent than the Yankees or the Orioles, or the Blue Jays, or the Rangers, or the Astros or even the Mariners. But I thought they had as much, if not more depth I'm not saying the best player, because the best player in the division is Jose Ramirez, right, Yeah, He's the best player on the best team

in the division right now. Bobby with juniors in that conversation, Luis Robert when he wants to play. That's really important is in that conversation. Carlos Correa is in that conversation. Byron Buxton went healthy. Is generally in that conversation. But from a depth standpoint, I thought they would have had enough so far. I was wrong, really surprised that they have been this. It's not even inconsistent. This is a long stretch. Man. You lose

twelve of seventeen makes you start to wonder. Bottom of the hour will replay our interview from yesterday in case you missed it. Tim Lester the former quarterback and head coach at Western Michigan, now the offensive coordinator at Iowa. He talks of the challenge of regrouping an offense that was among the worst in Iowa history a year ago. He talks of getting to know new players and the challenges there. Gives us an example of what an offensive place sounds like in

the huddle, and because he spent time in Green Bay last year. He gives us a snapshot of what his impressions are of the Detroit Lions. All that with Tim Lester at six thirty five, just because we know at eight thirty five yesterday maybe a lot of you were not listening, So we like to replay a lot of those interviews that we found very interesting and I thought it was a good one. We will talk of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals
