Can you believe that we made it past a hundred? Holy Moley, can you believe the incredible journey that we've had so far. I know, I mean not only did I not think this podcast would continue this long, but that it just you know, it kind of built, expanded and gained interest from the comic

community unlike what I ever expected. So I love it. So if you guys are tuning in now, go back and listen to some of our episodes. If this is your first episode of X Reads, we definitely recommend you go back into the archive and listen to all these amazing interviews we've had with

a faby NCA Chris Claremont. Of course, he was just on for our hundredth episode, and it was a dream come true, honestly, because when we started this podcast, we joked constantly about like, hey, you know, we're gould be so cool if he came on the podcast, and then we're like, get him on the podcast, and we're like, uh, mister Claremont, we can't remember how to say words. So I literally actually confession, I literally forgot how to say words. I think I spoke two

words total in that episode. I was just so starstruck. I know. I mean, the man literally is the architect of X Men, of all that we know and love about X Men, including my favorites, my ultimate favorites, Katy Pride and Jubilee are created by him, plus so many others. So and all of Wolverine's attributes that we know and love are because of him. So it's like, it was amazing. It was. It's so cool to have him on, so amazing to get the insights directly from the

cre A tour himself himself. No, that was that was amazing. So yeah, if you guys, if you didn't listen to that episode, please just dial back one episode at least for our sake to listen to his episode. Now, normally we cover a single issue per episode, cover to cover, including the ads, but with him, we're like, we can't just

do one issue, Like that's a waste of everybody's tie. We want to know so much more out of him, So we decided to do a whole character evolution with Kitty Pride from her creation all the way through becoming Shadow Cat through the Wolverine and Katy Pride mini series. So yeah, go back one listen. So what are we doing today Chandler, Well, we're going to

be doing a really classic issue. It's got an iconic cover that we'll get into shortly, but before we cover today's issue, which is by the way, everybody, so you can dial it up on your Marvel Unlimited apps if you've got it, or pull it out of the Pullblox X Men eleven from nineteen ninety two, go dive back into those back issue bins and find that. So one thing we got to talk about with Claremont, and one thing that we've been talking about week after week is our upcoming event, The Uncanny

Experience. Yes, it is coming up in Minneapolis, Minnesota in late September, and if you do not have your tickets now, you better get them soon. Why because things are selling out quick and those VIP tickets are hot. Omega has already sold out, some of our merchandise has already sold out. Things are flying off the shelf, you guys, Yeah, absolutely, And you know, newly announced by the time of this recording is we have

a comic book exclusive thanks to Unknown Comics. They are bringing an exclusive convariant of this beautiful art of Dark Phoenix by Nathan Zurdi and it's available for pre order so that we can get it signed by Zurdi and Claremont, who will both be at the Cohn. By the way, so we also announce that Nathan's Dirty, this amazing cover artist, will also be at the KHN, but they'll be at the con together, so you can get this awesome exclusive

limited edition con variant signed and graded if you wish. Through Unknown Comics, they are going to facilitate CGC grading and autograph signature authorization. So anyways, it's going to be so cool. The art looks so beautiful. I cannot wait to see it in print. I can't wait to own it. Oh me too, I want to poster of it on my wall. It's gorgeous.

M hmmm. Yes, So we are so excited to have that comic exclusive as well as welcome Nathan's Dirty to the Khan and enjoy everything that that is, which, by the way, is unkinny X Men one on one facsimile edition. I forgot to mention that part. So you guys, this is of course the iconic issue of Phoenix rising out of the water, all the X Men, you know, swimming to safety. So they are reprint this issue and this is going to be an exclusive variant cover for that,

It's like a can't miss collectible. I feel Oh, I got chills. I'm so excited and what an honor to have this as part of our event. Yeah, thank you so much Unknown Comics for even bringing this idea to us, because your belief in the event and support is so appreciated. So we are so excited to have that exclusive. So you guys can pre order

that in our school store. So if you go to the Uncanny Experience dot com, not only can you buy tickets to the event, you can also go to the store and our menu and you can pre order this comic book. You do not have to attend in order to get this comic. You guys, if you can't make it to the event, we understand you're in the UK, can't make it, we understand, you can buy this comic and it will be signed and it will be ready for you and shipped out

to you. So go to the store check it out. We really want you to see this amazing art. So, Chris, what issue are we going to do today? I am so excited because we are going to be doing X Men number eleven, which was published in August of nineteen ninety two. The cover on this sent me into nostalgia overload, no joke, because it is one of the most iconic covers for X Men ever. Yes, absolutely, we will get deep into this cover so you all know what we're

talking about. But before we do, we must set the era. It is the nineties, specifically August of nineteen ninety two, and the top film is Unforgiven, which went on to win Best Picture at the Oscars. Blah blah blah buth. What's more exciting is that also in August of nineteen ninety two is Death Becomes Her came out and I would much rather talk about Death Becomes Her then. Oh yeah, I forgive you. Every time I see anybody do this costume as a Halloween or cosplay, I just giggle because I

love it so much. You know what it's time for It's time for a reboot. Yeah, really, come back, We'll think about it. Come on. They were still alive at the end. I mean they were in pieces, but I think you know, you could glue back together. And with modern technology nowadays, they're plastic surgery probably looks like you know, paper, smooth and just you know, very nice looking. They could be put back together very well with some nice glue. I have a challenge for you.

So now we're talking about, of course, the original cast being stitched together at Meryl Streep and Goldie Hunt. But now tell me who would you recast in the role if they redid this movie? Oh? How dare you? I've never thought about this question before. It's all right, you could just how dare you? Dropped that amazing question on me? How can I You're rude? Why don't you answer first? I can't, I honestly can't.

I don't even know. Like, Okay, So if I'm going to choose two women off the top of my head that are fabulous that I think can pull off these roles, I'm gonna say Charlie's Throne would be incredible, and I am going to just for the sake of comedy, I think I'm going to throw in like Maya Rudolph really yeah, because I just think she

would be such a foil to Charlie's Throne. For people who have not seen this movie, these two women are after the same guy and they kind of fight together, they end up dying together, and then they joined forces to take down the guy because he was two timing them, and I just think, like the idea of the opposites of Charlie's throne in my rutop those are just two that popped into my head. Are they the perfect test casting choice? I don't think so, but that's just who jumped into my head.

I'm gonna fifth all right this question. Stay tuned for episode one oh two, where we will revisit this question with research and study, and we will terman who are the ideal recast mates of death becomes Her. I'm gonna go all extra for this Channeler. You think you just made a joke, but it's no joke. I will follow through with this. I'm going to bring in award winning casting directors in the entertainment industry to Wagan. I'm going to

bring in magazine editors. Great, oh gosh, this is going to be a huge debate. Okay, So yeah, listeners, you have a lot to look forward to and one or two. So in the meantime, we are here to talk about August of nineteen ninety two, the top song End of the Road by Boys two Men. How does this one go? I don't remember, Okay, so I'll start it and let me know if it jumps into your memory. Here we go. Okay, yeah, don't let me go to the end of the road, because I can't let go.

It's so natch. You belong to me, I belong to you. Oh oh yes, and the road Oh yeah. Boys to men yes, wait a minute, wait a minute, are like they boys? Are they ment to grandpas? Now? Like probably are there already grandfathers? Yes, they are granddaddy daddies all right. Next in our list of nostalgia of August of nineteen ninety two, a little tidbit that I picked up was that Paramount Studios

opened up their New York Street on the back lot. And you and I have been on the back lot of yeah, and there's been all sorts of events back there, and it's just a really cool place. So I just thought that was a really cool little tidbit of our history to know that that opened up in ninety two. Oh, I love it. But the parties there are glamorous. Yeah, it was like some sort of pride event. If I recall that we went there last time. M yeah. Well so.

Also in August of nineteen ninety two, San Diego Comic Con moves into the Double Tree Hotel humble beginnings. Yes, we think of San Diego Comic Con as of course the massive beast it is, but humble beginnings, you know, in hotel lobbies, and as we are putting together this uncanny experience, I will say there's times where I feel like we need to be Comic Coon right up the gate, But I think it's great to have a start

and grow from there. Yeah. Indeed, something I love about the Double Tree fact is when we're on the shuttle bus, somebody always mentions the fact that Comic Con used to be there as we drive by. It's like, you know, if we were to do a drinking game with shots, like we could get drunk on people saying that, Yeah, no kidding, no kidding. Well, let's get into this. We are doing X Men number

eleven, published August of nineteen ninety two. It's written by Jim Lee Scott Lobdell, The art is by Jim Lee, and it is titled The X Men Versus The X Men exclamation Point. Yes. Plus, there's also a bonus story on Maverick in the back that's written by Scott Lobdell and art by Mark Textera titled over Again, We're Not Going to really go through that issue. We'll touch upon it at the end, but touch upon it now,

let's just like get it out of the way. So like there's weird stuff happening between Maverick and also what was his dame Warhawk It exists in the back of the issue. Maverick at the time was a really underdeveloped character that they introduced like through the trading cards and toys and everyone's like, Oh, what's this character and they're like, oh crap, we better write stories about this guy. M and this is what we got. That's what we got.

But that's okay because we have something way more exciting to talk about, and that is a Moojo, one of my favorite characters and storylines. Yes, a reality show like on Steroid, you guys, totally So on the cover we mentioned iconic cover. This is the cover that, by the way, is on all the T shirts from Target. So when you see that white T shirt at Target with the X Men cover, it is this one X Men number eleven. I have it. I have it. So many people

have this shirt. So I was like, when we're like, what do I S were we're going to do after Claremont, Like what is the follow up. We're like, well, let's go with this one because it's weird, wacky, it's got an iconic cover, and it's Jim Lee art, and so there's a lot to gush on. But on the cover we have Wolverine in the forefront holding his claws up and looking through one of the claws,

and a whole team of characters behind him. Who do you see, Chris, I see siloc and Gambit in Rogue, and Cyclops and Beast who's actually kind of hanging upside down, which is kind of funny, and you believe holding her head with her hand kind of smug. Yes, and she's wearing her glasses green, by the way, not pink. I was like, this is a bold choice. Jim Lee or colorist or whoever did this making her glasses green instead of pink. Explain yourself. It's like if Cyclops

Advisor was suddenly blue instead of red. You're just like, excuse me. You know why I know this is one of the most successful iconic covers of all time is that Target keeps this shirt in stock. Like usually if it doesn't sell well, they will cycle it out and bring new stuff in.

But the ones that stay forever I'm talking about like the band of T shirts like Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd. Will you know what this cover of the X Men has elevated two icon status to the point where Target will always have it available. I love it amazing. So on the inside cover we have our very first Oh it's for Universal Soldier. It's a gen Claude van Damn movie. Oh. Yes, that probably was action packed, is my assumption.

Yeah. It looks like they're wearing like VR glasses and pop Singer headsets and they're holding guns. It says almost humid, almost perfect, almost under control. Universal Soldier the Future has a bad attitude. Now I have to invest. I've not seen this movie. I have it either, but I'm kind of curious. Oh you know, it's by Roland Emerick, who directed Independence Day in a bunch of action films, So I'm gonna say that it might actually be good. I'm all about it. I need something to watch

and have on in the background while I do things. This seems like the movie for that. Well, and because I'm always curious, you know, there's always got to be at least a female lead or whatever side character. And the actress I don't know her, Ali walk Walker. I don't know her. Yeah, okay, so she was in the daytime soap opera Santa Barbara. Oh and before landing roles on the short lived dramas True Blue and moved over Miami. Well, well, well, good for you. She

was also in Kazam Shack amazing. I love it. Yeah, I was like, that's the best part. That was the best part of me looking that up. I needed to be reminded of Shack. And that's yes. I can't wait. I can't wait un till there's an AD alert of Kazam movie because I need to relive it. It'll happen, all right, let's get into this issue. Oh my gosh. So we start off and we see Dazzler seated looking very defeated. Her eyes are closed, head in her

hands. She is not happy, No, she is not. But I'm happy because why we have a very interesting character that I completely forgot it out into this very moment, and that is Mojo too the sequel. Yes, he is standing over her, just menacingly, and we don't I don't know if he's a good guy or a bad guy yet, so in my head, I'm thinking, oh, she's in trouble. But look at this outfit. Can you please describe this sexy monstrosity? Oh sure, so I'm he

is bare chested with metallic leggings kind of reminiscent of Lady death Strike. And then he has got a shoulder shrug robe that's kind of happening, that's very long and flowy, almost like mister Sinister. He's got metallic arms, like robotic arms. His skin is yellow, he is got blue, long flowing hair of Fu Manchou mustache, and he is fit for the gods. You know. It's one of those things where he's Mojo to the sequel Mojo, of course, we know is a big, large, spineless one. As

they say, he is in a mechanical thing. He has no spine so he can't stand up. So this is the standing version of Mojo, and apparently he is fit af Oh yeah, and I need those like metallic pants in my wardrobe, please yes. Dazzler. On the other hand, just to comment on what she is wearing. If y'all recall the X Men arcade game and her outfit that game, well that's what she's wearing right now. The blue with the headband that's read and the star burst on her chest.

Yes, she is in her Dazzler eighties glory outfit. Yes, the outback look. And you know one thing I want to say about Mojo to the sequel. To me, he's very evocative of like if Mojo and mister Sinister had like a clone baby m Yeah, you know what I mean, absolutely, especially her attitude and everything. I wonder if he is a clone thing to mister Sinister, we should revisit that. So all the Marvel artists that are listening and writers, there you go. There's a little pity is that

it happens. Chandler, if you say, thinks that when they happen. So yeah, Mojo to the sequel is going to come back due to Sinister, and I can't wait for that moment. So yeah, we learn that Dazzler is working with Mojo to the sequel because he is vowed to take down Mojo himself and overcome the ratings needed to be the leader of Mojo World. Because that we learned that with the ratings you have the power. So shout

out to and DECENTI for knowing all this ahead of time. First you get the ratings, then you get the power, then you get the women. But I was at Scarface sure, or Godfather or something, I don't know something. You know what, though, Like it's kind of true in today's day and age, if you have a large social media following, people take notice. And if you have large numbers, a lot of the times,

like they don't even investigate. They're all like, well, if this person is obviously popular and reputable, therefore they have clout enough to be given a job or given an opportunity. In the age of social media, ratings do matter? I agree, and again props to Innocente for forecasting all of this. Innocent to you, by the way, was on the podcast back and I want to say episode forty three or forty four, So go back and listen to her her episode where we cover long shot number three. So Dazzler

reluctantly agrees to help Mojo to the sequel. And then we cut to an arena where we see the X Men versus the x Men again with our special guests the X Men, and it is quite a flash page we see. So this is a full page of Lila, Gambit, Rogue Beast, Jubilee, Wolverine, siloc and Cyclops and they're on like a trippy yellow brick road fighting each other. Yeah, so this Mojo verse arena is modeled after The Wizard of Oz by Frank L. Baum, like the movie starting Julie Garland

and all that, except it's deadly and everybody's killing each other. This particular splash page is so very exciting because, like with Rogue, you can see that she is bound. Her arms and wrists are encased in metal. Her mouth is covered in metal, so she can't kiss in anybody. Does Jubilee have wings? Over the Jubilee, Gambit, Lila, and Silac all have wings like the evil winged monkeys, I think is what this is running. So if you have wings, and that means that you are possessed by Mojo,

right, or just means that you're on another team. You're on another team. They're all possessed by Mojo except for Beast, and Beast cannot talk. He's stuck to sounding like a cart too, and for instance, his his words say rousy rethid ractors instead of lousy method actors, so he cannot speak his normal erudite language. He is stuck to this beastly cartoon language.

I actually had this comic in my original long box childhood collection. And back in the childhood years, I used to non read the comics, meaning like, you know, who cares about the words, about the photos and the pictures and the story of the Vocket of Art. I always thought that Lila Cheney was like another Jubilee. Yes, like Jubilee clone. Yeah, well, because she's got the short kind of hair that is very much like Jubilees. And she also wears sunglasses just like Jubilee. So yeah, she could

very well to a child, look like adult Jubilee. So speaking of Lilah, she is fighting with long Shot, and long Shot for some reason, also is not mind controlled. I think it's because he's of this world. And actually no, it's because he wasn't brought in with the X Men because he, you know, was already on Mojo World. So Dazzler himself and Beast are the only ones of their right mind. And Professor Xavier, which we'll get into later. So he's trying to tell Lila, like, calm

down, girl, we're friends, we don't need to fight. You know, you're you're playing into Mojo's story. You know you can't give him what he wants. And poor Lilah, she gets whacked, thrown right into a tree. Meanwhile, Siloc has Cyclops in a chokehold, but Professor Xavier chimes in and he says, open your mind to me. And she's trying. She's got a lot of beads of sweat on her forehead, but she's trying to let him break through. Yes, Cyclops is like trying to what Betsy

kil Before we turn the page, we have our very Next. It is for the nineteen ninety two Marvel Universe Series three trading cards by Skybox. Yes, I had them all, every single one of these. Oh my god, they were so so beautiful. This is before Marvel Masterpiece, but it still was in the era of top like card collecting Jess. When you thought they couldn't get any bigger or better. Wake up, Marvel, Madiacs.

Marvel Universe Series three trading cards have already hit your friendly neighborhood store shelves. Bigger, you bet. Our expanded two hundred card lineup features some really great new card categories and characters better with Bulldoo original graphics in five new holograms, each in a different color for foil, this set is awesome. Wow, now that you know how cool these cards are. The last thing you need is for some kid from down the street to beat you to them. Be

bigger, be better, be first. And the kids in this ad are like a gag. They're thrilled. I want to be that middle child. Yes, they're looking at the Spider Man card all blown up as if it's projected on a wall, and they are literally in shock about how cool this is. Oh yeah, I think Spider Man definitely was one of the best from that set. But I can see in the backroom deal set Thanos, Captain America and Silver Surfer, which we're all great too. Yes, now

I don't know about these foil variants. I'm sorry, color foil and hologram versions from this set. I only know the traditional cards. So now I'm going to go on a hunt. I need to find out what these cards are. It has been decided let's do it road trip. So back with the story. Cyclops is like, you're an adult, Betsy, do what you think is right. I don't know where this line is coming from, but Mojo is like, off author, what's going on with this dialog?

Oh wait, it's me. I'm the I'm the author, and Earth's Maarius mutants are reciting every line as I've scripted it. Oh the pressure. What to do for an encore m Perhaps you could perform a lobotomy on yourself, sire, I'll fetch the butter knife. That's Major Domo, his like right hand man, who of course hates Mojo, but he works for him. Anyways, that was like my favorite line. Yes, we'll keep reading the Mojo lines because they're so juicy and you love him? What and deny my

captive audience a chance to provide it unsolidacitic review of work in progress? So Chip, what do you think? Professor Xavier cannot speak? Everyone's a critic. Just remember it could be worse. I could have scripted you onto the set. Instead, you have a front row seat as your students destroy themselves using your powers honed and through your teachings. He ha, gotta love the

irony. Oh, and Professor is thinking to himself, mocked me while you have the opportunity, Mojo, I must work through the pain, must protect my XPN. Mojo always is so like gregarious and Shakespeare into me. Am I right? Does he emote that to you? Yeah? For sure? Yeah, he's an actor on all levels, no matter who he is speaking to. Yeah, and I gotta I gotta mention the art here where he's saying, oh wait, I am the author and just his aunt's playling.

Oh, it's just so dramatic. I love it. Yes, when we get that Jim Lee nineties thing where half of Mojo's face is then covered by Professor's other half of his face, I feel like we see that a lot in the nineties, So I love this moment elsewhere in Mojo Square Garden instead of Madison Square Garden. Ha ha ha ha. See we see dazz Oh wait, I got it now. No, I love it. I can't to laugh at it. I love dad jokes. Oh that was good.

Okay, okay, I got it out. We can good. So we see Dazzler and Mojo too, sorry Mojo too the sequel um and they the sequel Yes, so yes, he is confessing to Dazzler that he just wants to help those less fortunate, and she is like not having any of his ship. He's just like yeah right as she looks over her shoulder. I also love that she has this kind of like war paint on her face in this Mojo verse world when she moved, when she moved there, whatever,

when she was ended up there. She adopted this kind of stripe over her left eye and then kind of a mark under her right. Well, it's not consistent because she didn't have that in the opening scene. You're right, she didn't, or maybe she added it just now going into battle. Maybe this is the first appearance of her Mojo Verse warpaint, so I'd be curious. I have to look back on future issues. So we're back with the X men. Psiloc is trying to work cyclops as advisor off. She's able

to rip it off of his head through Professor Xavier's motion. So Professor has like commandeered Psiloc's head and body, and she rips off his visor so that his optic beams can zact the booth where Mojo is. Oh isn't this exciting? The actions so lifelike, you can almost feel the heat. And the trick about this is is that he actually lyned the control booth with Mojo. Oum yes, trademarks. Trademark by the way, TM, I'm guessing it's like vibranium, but or adam antium or any of the any of the ems

of the Marble Metal Verse. So yes, Mojoe eum okay, so Professor has to work around that. So through Silox's body, he then pivots Cyclops's visor full blast at Rogue and it blasts her restraints off, so the ones on her mouth and her hands break off, and it busts her through the dome ceiling that they are fighting in, and she goes end up going into

space. Well, not only does she end up going into space, but she ends up becoming visible to outside of the dome, which actually is a huge giant arena filled with spectators that are just bloodthirsty for the destruction of the X Men. And she's looking her around and she's all like, that blast knocked me cleaned away from Joe's influence. But if I attack again, get too close, how could I be certain I won't become his little circus befomer

again? And then they're all saying, log broadcast Mojoe? What does that mean? Long live Mojoe? But life is the broadcast, so they want, oh, I love it long to broadcast to Mojoe. Rogue is hesitant to go back in, but Betsy, commandeered again by Professor, is using her psychic abilities to go into Rogue's mind, and this art of her face,

it's so good. This is like prime Jim Lee stuff, like he obviously is amazing, but I felt like he drew rogue so well, oh yeah, and I love the butterfly effect right there, m because you know that's pure psiloc. It's gorgeous. Yes, So they instruct her on what she needs to do next, and she goes, I got it, and

she goes charging back into the arena. But then we cut to Meanwhile, we see Dazzler and Mojo to the sequel crawling underneath the arena yep, and they are going up against a whole bunch of robotic bad guys miscellaneous bad guy one bad Robot number two to damn slaps wet and yeah, because you know it's dark underneath. Luckily, Dazzler's lightpowers lights up everything, so it's very

very bright as she was. That's everybody. Mojo to the Sequel and Dazzler as they're going through this, they really want to make sure that their victory over Mojo is broadcasted. So Mojo too, the sequel says, well, you and I battle his dog soldiers. My loyal key grips are attaching a piggyback signal onto Mojo's own. The spined people will revolt if they believe they have half a chance. So that's a key point, you guys, because

the whole plot with this is to allow the people to revolt. The spine people, of course, being long shots race, that alien race that was created for the spineless ones to act as slaves. That's what they mean by the spine one, So they want them to revolt. My favorite thing about this line is the fact that he calls his henchmen he grips. Yeah, which you know, in Hollywood terms, they are set people. It's so cool. Yeah, the mojovers. Noah, I'm going to send my key

grips after them. So, because Psiloc and Cyclops are going off script because they're freeing rogue and they're doing things that are not a part of this broadcast, Gambit, who is still under control, wax them with his bow staff and knocks him out, and Cyclops it's like Gambit no, and then Jubilees thinking to herself, Gambit attacked before the Professor could clear the Cajun's mind.

Let's see if I could bring the old Wolfster back to Earth, and then Wolverine's just like, oh no, please stay back, But Jubilee is running right towards him, blasting her fireworks powers, which kind of stunts him, and she says Ah is a whittle old, frady cat, scared of a girl. Just for a little clarification, Wolverine is, of course reduced to a scared version of Wolverine. He's obviously so brave in all of his comics, but when he's on Mojo Verse, he's a scared witt old kitty.

And he says, I ain't never back down to a skirt and no one, no one calls Wolverine a frady cat, at least not twice anyways, And he comes jumping at Jubilee with a snick. Yeah, but it's okay because he did come back to his senses, and he went right flying into Mojo's sanctuary, screaming Mojo scribed yes, and he has caused more damage to the Mojonium, a shell that is protecting Mojo. Mojo walking off the set in the middle of a performance. I'm afraid not Miss Cheney. By the

way, that's a typo. It's supposed to be Miss Chaney, but it's Miss Channey. Oh you're right, Do I get a no price? This is not Cheney change. Is it with an e not an a. It's with an e? Yes, correct, that's the correct spelling with an a. Yes. Oh the digital verse yours is an e yes, Mine is an e. Oh. Okay uh, Marvel Unlimited just heads up, you know left. Yes, So he says, have your people called my people, Wolverine, we'll do lunch to what she says, sooner than you think,

Bob and siloc that's her cue, she says. Now rogue. Oh, she comes crashing in because she was, you know, in orbit basically, and she has used the speed of just flying into Earth and she's able to crack through Moji mojonium trademarked shell due to Cyclops and Wolverine weakening the shell.

On the streets outside, a commotion starts happening, and the people start seeing what's going on, and one of them starts saying, zas vid It is, as the pirate programmer vowed, the spineless Mojo is vulnerable at last. Meanwhile, on the streets outside, a big commotion is starting up because everybody is catching on that Mojo is being attacked and could be defeated. And one of the guys who has a mustache and this weird laurel flowing Thori hair

with a purple striped I don't know, turtleneck thing. I don't know. Actually, you know what, I kind of like it, kind of like this look, okay, And it was weird. It was weird to me out for a second, but it grew on me. Lorel hair on the streets outside, he says, zas vid it is as the Pirate programmer vowed, the spineless Mojo is vulnerable at last, But is it enough? Has Mojo fallen? But your guy is way cooler. Oh? Yes, he's

got like mohawk with two rat tail braids coming down his shoulders. You know a look, it is a look. I think we need to put up a Luke vote on social media. Ed say who who would you not? Who would you rather? And say, like, you know which look is better? M you know, orange shirky or purple shirt guy? Yes? And if if you want to vote on this poll, be sure to follow

x Reid's podcast on all social media platforms. Yes, when they are watching this TV all in awe there with bated breath, waiting to see if Mojo's defeated, But for not because ha ha pathetic fools. We're all your top billing and star treatment. You are a little more than extras and the big picture I made you the mega media stars my X Men, and I can have you canceled just as easily. And this is the big Ursula moment at the end of The Little Mermaid when she becomes supersized and has it tried it

and is about to kill everything. But guess who is on the bottom of this giant photo of Mojo. It is Rogue and she has got cakes. Yes, this is X Men, the animated series, when she's going up against Apocalypse Apocalypse Booty jim Ley the inspiration for it. Obviously she got cakes. So yeah, outside, the spined ones are scared, but they are still willing to revolt because you know, for better they die free than continue

a life of the Spineless Monster as their slaves. So they go two of the Garden and Mojo is like, oh, maybe I should have stuck to Brady Bunch reruns. Maybe you should have and Dazzler comes bursting into the scene. I cannot not mention the Brady Bunch story that I just had coincidentally, what's that? It's synchronicity. I haven't thought about The Brady Bunch in like a goa jillion years. But I went with my friend Holland, who is

actually plug our terror reader for the Uncanny Experience. We were walking around Studio City, you know, doing the dog walk thing, and I looked to the left and I was like, oh, hey, that's the Brady Bunch house. It's totally in Studio City. It just like right there. Walked past it most of the time, didn't really notice it until then I was

like, yeah, that's really cool. HGTV actually rehabbed it. At the time it was worth three million dollars, but through that reality show, they completely refurbished it to look exactly like the set of The Brady Bunch back in the day. The exterior is the same as the set, but the interior wasn't and the rehab is uncanny. Yes. Now, the thing about it is it just went back on the market. Guess how much it's being sold for? Ten million? Ten million? Jesus. Okay, let me put

this into perspective. Okay, ten million is a lot. It started out as three million, Okay, then they did the rehab. You can't go up to ten everything else, I know, but everything in the house is like from the seventies. I mean like it's not modernized furniture. Well, flawless execution of a TV family home. People might pay for that. Yeah,

well it is priced at five million dollars. So if you are listening to this right now and you have five million dollars and you are nostalgic for some classic television starring those Brady Bunch family, you know what You're in luck because you have the opportunity to purchase their home. Incredible. I want to do it. Actually, I want to buy it. Just take out the five million in your bank account goal buy it. Anyways, back to Dazzler,

Dazzler, and who is your handsome friend? Oh surely you remember me, the clone you left on the editing room floor. Oh yes, the flawed one. If compassion for all people as a flaw, guilty as charge. But there are those on this world who believe that spines are a virtue. Guests who comes bursting in one of the luckiest people on the Mojo Verse planet universe asteroid. Is it a dimension, it's a world world at her

start? Oh no, no, wait, nope, launch shot. He burst in with his sword and he says I happen to be one of them for too long? Have you used the psychic energies of your spineless couch potatoes, enhanced by the euphoria of the X Men exploits to suppress the rights of my people. It ends here now, and Julie says, believe him, but I love how she's like between his legs. In the background it emphasize like, you know, kind of like the by the way but beat hand.

Yeah, yeah, I love it. So Ba boom. The wall goes down and we see a whole mob of people coming to cancel Mojo. The yellow season is Ovar and this guy's got a pitchfork. Oh, look at the fashion of Mojo verse though, because we don't actually get to see the fashion that often. But this is our pure firsthand up clows and personal

look with the people. What do you see? Well, so our mohawk with the two rat tails guy he is wearing like an orange body suit and next to him is a purple robed figure, open chested with loincloth like allah

mystique that's teal and comes down over blue pants. And then we've got somebody that's wearing like headgear similar to how Angel and half fuck and everybody put on their head, and he's wearing an orange suit and a jacket like gambits over at holding a staff, and then all of a sudden, Mojoe he burst out one of his energy beams with a crasatte and he says, polease people, give a fella a chance to clear out his desk. No, yes, and he's like zapping down to people, but the long Shot says,

no, never again. Will you take a life for your own sadistic pleasures are those of your equally twisted viewers? Yeah, because he actually, with that energy zapp killed a bunch of people. I was deadly forced, he just used. Yeah's lunging at him and that knife is about to penetrate, and Mojo's all like, yes, long Shot, work with me, go with your feelings. Give them a finale they can remember, give them me, and he does. But does he? I mean, we don't see

a body just smoke. Oh yeah, and Mojo can teleport. I don't think he's dead. I don't think he's dead either. Comics you guys. But you know what, when this came out, I can imagine that, you know, me thinking in my head, this is the final moment for Mojo, this character, and this was epic, and this was so huge and so monuments. Actually, you know it was very Shakespearean. Yes, absolutely well, and the people are now instead of cheering long lived long shot,

they say long air long shot. Oh my god, I love it. I didn't catch that the first time around for some reason. I love Mojo versus Lingo Lingo. It is. Oh. And then Dazzler goes in for the kiss. You did it, We did it to make this world a better place. Oh okay, now this this is the moment we've all been waiting for, you guys, because the tea is about to be spilled. Are you ready? I want some sugar with your tea? Do you got some of those little tea cookies? Bring it on hand? I'm ready?

Okay, Because Professor Charles Xavier chimes in and he says, just in time, it would seem for what greater gift could two parents give to the un born child? I sense with an Allison, Yes, secrets. You know, I think they should have the choice if they want to mention that

you know they're gonna have a baby. Oh oh crap, oh man, Chandler, damn it, did you just give me a Zach Morris's trash moment, ah crap, because you know, I mean, at the age that we're at, we've have peers that you know, family that had children and stuff like that, and we know the etiquette. The etiquette is you are not supposed to say anything if you know, you keep it in. It is their news to tell and that's the end of that. But Nope,

not Charles Xavier. He just goes in gets that information in, blabs blabs blabs rude. But you know, they do look at each other with a little heart over Dazzler's head, which I think is super cute. Yeah, it is cute, and they have a loving moment. It's very tender. But then Dazzler turns over to the sequel of Mojo and puts her finger right in his chest and says, as we're going to be raising a kid, it'll be up to you to rule this planet fairly. Mmm. I would

not have it any other way, he says. And Lila, Silac and Rogue all decide that it's time to celebrate. You know, Lila can easily teleport them all the way, but you know they want to stay with Dazzler. You know, she's a former teammate. They need to celebrate this news, so they decide to stay. But Jubilee, she's not feeling it. Yeah, she's kind of like, you know, sneaking off. She's saying to herself. Maybe it's an age thing, but I don't get it.

Ratings mean power on this world, and we just gave whoever is in charge higher numbers in the last episode of Cosby. So if we won, do I feel like we're still being rubed? Mmm? Ooh? And then we that is that is a slangy word I haven't heard in a while, No kidding. We get this incredible double page spread of Jim Lee art and this is his farewell issue. As you told me earlier today, this is the last issue that Jim Lee did for X Men before he went to Image,

So I think this is his like farewell. Like I love the X Men, I'm going to give them this last splash page before I go. And it's so beautiful. Oh, this is seared into my memory as an iconic piece of art that I will never forget. So we have all the characters looking super stoic super hero posed, except for Jubilee, who's seated on the ground with soda in her mouth and popcorn, which I absolutely love that. And her glasses are pink, by the way, unlike the cover, which

are green. They're pink on the popcorn, it says homage pop Okay, yeah, I want to read through this because it brings up an interesting topic. Psiloc in response to Jubilee saying why do I feel like we're still being rude? She says the child is a point. Jubilee says, thanks, and who are you calling a child? How do we know we're not still being manipulated, to which Cyclops replies, we don't here or in the real

world. There are no guarantees in life people, and Beast says there comes a time between life and death when all men stop to catch their breath. We ask the stars why we question our lot? The heavens open wide. In reply, why not, Yeats says Wolverine. Nope, Beast and Dazzler and long Shot are in the corner. Long SHOT's got a hand on her

belly, and Dazzler says, shatters are You've got to be kidding? Okay, Now, there is a lot going on in this Okay, because first off, now this whole page has me thinking, are we all trapped in a simulation? Have you heard of the simulation theory? Chandler? Oh sure, I mean matrix, etc. But yes, are we in a simulation? I don't know. I don't think so, I don't know. I

mean sometimes I think so, who knows. What strikes me about this image is that I noticed that Gambit's arms are bare when he rolls up his sleeves of his jacket, and it makes me think that his pink armor underneath is like a tank top. Oh my god, here I am having an existential crisis and you're worried about Gambit's bare arm. Yes, I don't think that's

how it's uniform works. That could just be a coloring thing. But that's what really stands out to me, existential crisis about living in a simulation. I don't think about that kind of stuff. Okay, fine, let's get on to the other news in here. And that's the fact that there is a name for this baby. Yeah, it is written there, Shatterstar. Yes, tell me what you know about this so easter Egg. Yeah.

So this whole thing is a big mess, obviously, because so she is allegedly pregnant with Shatterstar, at this time in comics history, Shatterstar is a full grown adult on X Force in the comics, so you're thinking to yourself, how did this happen? And then this is like I don't even know where to begin with this. So she comes back to Earth, she doesn't remember that she's pregnant, and then she never has a baby. So at some point she must have given birth on Mojo Verse and then through the process

of going to Earth forgot. And what we learned in this long Shot Shatterstar series is that long Shot of course is the father, but that Shatterstar is in fact the father of long Shot because he went back in time to Mojo World before long Shot was created, and through a DNA sample of Shatterstar, they created long Shot in the Race of spined Ones, and then long Shot then obviously went on to live, fall in love with Dazzler, and have

a baby, which is Shatterstar. So they're cut. They're stuck in the time loop, like Shatterstar must go back in time in order to get his DNA taken otherwise his father won't be bored. And I feel like it's back to the future all over again. Well, it is also Fry from future rama because Philip J. Fry was also bored through time travel time travelery. It's like Tom Foolery, except time travelery. And on top of all this, you know, we brought this up to Fabi Nissa when he was on

our show the first time. We asked him the question what do you think about Shatterstar being the son and the father of long Shot? And he was so baffled that he didn't know that this had happened, And his response was pretty hilarious. Oh cool, I'll play the clip. Did you intend Shatterstar to be the son and father of long Shot? No? I don't think I did. No, I don't, And I don't think robbed it either. I only got really kind of sketchy, sketchy, sketchy character bios on

the characters themselves, and Shatterstar was pretty sketchy. So there was nothing that I remember that said he was gonna be that. I don't think I did any of that. Most I got into Shatterstar with those horrific, awful Shattershot annuals that I did, um and and and I don't even remember that I didn't say that about him, then? Did I? Did I say that he was long Shots. No, no, no, that came out. That came out later on. It just uh, is he is he long Yeah? He is. He's a clone. Long Shot is a clone of

Shatterstar, who time traveled to I think Mojo World beforehand. Okay, Shatterstar was born after yeah, years after a long Shot. Yeah, yeah, but I guess in in in the current storyline, he then went back in time before long Shot was created, and then they took his DNA made long Shot and then a long Shot and Dazzler had Shatterstar. So long Shot and Dazzler or Shatterstar's parents. Yes, that makes no sense. Okay, you

have to understand. I quit X Men with issue number forty five. I don't think I read an issue of X Men until Terry Cavanaugh asked me to script over Alan Davis's a couple of Alan Davis issues like ten years later and eight years later, I hadn't read anything, And after I scripted those issues, I didn't read anything again for another ten years. I don't, you

know, I just I don't know. It's it's not it's not a family of titles that I've had a particular vested interest in follow, and yet I've sporadically read trade paperbacks from multiple different errors over the last twenty you know, twenty twenty five years. I've read some of the current stuff too, the Hickman stuff when it first launched, and then a couple of sporadic trade paperbacks. Unless I'm unless I'm being tasked to write something that requires me to have

an idea of the current con regular ongoing basis. Yeah, that's it's so hard to follow. I've been I was out of comics for over ten years, so I hear what it's like to to to be out of it and not know what's going on. But let's watching general It's like watching General Hospital. You haven't watched what the hell? And that's the issue. But before we get to the end of the issue, we have our very last It is the Konami X Men Arcade Machine advertisement. So we love this. Of

course, we love the arcade Machine. You've seen us gush about it, You've seen us play it at arcades when we have our podcast birthdays. Everybody loves this game. We actually mentioned earlier in Dazzler's outfit as she's from the Arcade Machine. This machine, I think made a lot of X Men fans Oh yeah, We're obsessed and this game will be playable at the Uncanny Experience. Oh, we are going to have an arcade inside the mansion called the Jubilatian Station. So if you want to play, uh, the X Men

game, come on down. Yeah. And I want to know who is your main Chris, who who do you play on this game? Oh? It switches all the time. I mean right now in my life, I feel like I'm back to Storm. Mostly it's Storm, you know. Sometimes I like to dabble with the Dazzler M a little little Nightcrawler action jump and he jump. Yes, but but Storm is just so regal, and she's

wearing the black bathing suit. Ye, so beautiful. Oh yes, yes, I'm a Nightcrawler main he I typically always love to play Nightcrawler, but now that you know I have the machine myself, I like to play all the characters because I don't have to put a quarter in, I could just

do whatever I want. Well, this was a fun issue, and I'm really glad we got to gush about Mojo and just kind of get the get the show, and you know, to just you and I. It's really fun to just to just have a episode with just you, Chris, because we have all sorts of fabulous guests and we have more coming guys.
