I say random , crazy shit , which is why I called this podcast the way that I did , and I really hate long drawn out intros , so let's fucking go . Okay , for those of you chicks who are taking note , this is officially the 21st podcast episode that I've released in a row , and I only said I was going to do 30 in a row .
That's what I initially committed to . So the fact that we are at 21 so fast is shocking to me , because it feels really , really effortless , or it , for the most part , it has almost every day , and going back about 25 days , I was really dragging my heels . I was trying to do my podcast perfectly .
I was , I was avoiding them like the plague , and so the fact that I am now at day 21 in a row is pretty shocking to me . Here's the other reason why it's shocking . So you know that , um , that you know that saying about it takes 21 days to make a habit . Well , here's the thing I was trying to avoid doing day 21 .
Like you would not believe , I'm so tired as I'm recording this and I am . I was procrastinating all damn day long . My friend called me and so and I've known her for friend called me and so and I've known her for get this , I think 35 years .
So she phones me and I'm saying , holy shit , like I don't know if it's menopause or you know the dementia , like symptoms that come with menopause . I think it's just , I'm super tired because I am barely rubbing two brain cells together at this point and I have to do a podcast .
And she said well , why don't you just skip recording the podcast tonight and just release it later tomorrow ? Like later in the day , you're still going to meet your everyday podcast , everyday podcast .
Now here's what's interesting Just today I did a social media post officially announcing that I release podcasts every morning at 5 am , and that was not a coincidence . That was like setting me up for me to have this moment where , right now , I'm going to prove that I'm going to show up .
When she , when she gave me this excuse , when she said well , you know , no one's going to notice and the majority of people wouldn't . The majority of people will not notice if I release at 5 am or at 7 am , right , but here's the thing Daily podcast releases was not necessarily about showing up for you every single day , even though that was part of it .
What it was was a challenge for me to stay in integrity with my word . It is impossible to hit all of your goals if you are stalling on some , if you make a commitment to yourself and you fall down on it .
And when I noticed , when I was talking to her and I noticed wait a minute , this podcast episode that I am avoiding or I was avoiding recording was day 21 . That is also not a mistake .
It was this huge , huge extra message from above to say do your fucking podcast , I don't care , I don't care , do what messy , get in that like fucking energy that is massively powerful and just hit record and go . Too often we do this in all areas , or even one area of our life , and then we wonder why we can't hit goals in other areas .
Right now , I want you to look at how many areas of your life . What is one goal that you have ? And are you back at the bus ? Okay , choose the goal . Look at the goal that you have and look at the steps that you have to achieve those goals . Now tell me , look back and go . Am I in integrity with this goal ? Am I committed to this goal ?
Am I integrity ? Am I in integrity with my word ? If I am not in integrity with my word , how in heck can I anticipate changing my life ? So if I look at and like how we do , one thing is how we do all things right or most .
So if I look at , I want to come through and I want to lose X amount of weight and I know what I need to do in order to do that , and I set my goal , how much I want to lose and by when , these are the steps , these are the like , the daily tasks that I'm going to do in order to do that , and then I don't follow them and I avoid and I
procrastinate and I don't move my body . I'm not going to get to my goal number one , but number two I'm letting myself down . So if I let myself down in that area of my life , I'm also likely to let myself down in the area of my life , of my business . I am likely to let myself down in every area of my life . So today the whole message is well .
Number one this is day 21 . Awesome . It takes 21 days to make a habit , so I'm pretty sure I'm going to show up for day 22 . But number two is I am committed to this podcast release . I am showing the fuck up podcast release . I am showing the fuck up .
Even when it's not perfect , I'm going to come through and this will translate to other areas of my life . It already has . Choose a goal , one goal that is really fucking important to you . Choose the steps that you have to make that are a little stretchy , but not too stretchy . You know , like doing this podcast was a little stretchy . I got to tell you .
But if I had to do this podcast and make sure that the audio was perfect and make sure that the editing was perfect and make sure that I did a soundbite on everything and I advertise everything I like , I mean I wouldn't come through on that .
Choose your goal and choose your path or your steps that you know you can do , that that are a tiny bit stretchy , and go all in and do not allow yourself to hold yourself back , because you will want to . I do and I have all of the excuses that I am coding as reasons right now . Right , I had all of the excuses .
I'm tired , I'm struggling with fatigue because of no sleep . It's seven o'clock at night . I can do it tomorrow . My best friend is saying I can do it tomorrow . Anyone would say that life is busy . I can show up in that energy . I can totally show up and say life is busy and you know what it's okay .
Show up and say life is busy and you know what it's okay . But no , because I wouldn't be in integrity with my word and that is not what I want to model for you here . We can do hard things . Fuck it . Energy is great . Good enough is better than not done at all . So show up today in whatever goal that you've got .
Show up in those steps , stay in integrity with yourself and watch how the rest of your life starts to fall together . Watch how the rest of your life starts to fall together .
