¶ Creating a Personalized and Meaningful Space
I love the beginning of January because I'm able to remove all of the holiday decor and my home starts to feel like it's getting not really back to normal , but kind of back to normal . And what I , what I tend to do , is I really do not like clutter , like I really do not . I truly do just like spin in the middle of the room .
So what I always suggest and what I do is , when I am putting out my holiday decorations , I always remove some of the decor that would just be normally sitting there and I replace it with Christmas stuff . So when I take the holiday stuff away , then it's like I have a blank slate and I can start again .
And so what I love to do is really look at my space and decide what is it that I want to create this year , what is the vibe , what is the feeling , what is the energy that I want to have in my space , what do I want to bring into my life and what can I do in my space to make that happen or to attract that to happen ?
I think what often we forget that our space is not just a container for our shit , our home , our environment , the place that we spend a lot of time in . It's giving off an energy . And we're giving off an energy . We're in an energetic exchange with our space . And so if really we want to live and love our life , we need to live in and love our space .
So if it's too played , if it's too minimalist , if it's too boring , you're going to have a very rigid , boring life .
And if it's too loud and it's too chaotic or it's too cluttered , if it's too loud and too wild and you feel as though you just want a relaxing place , then you want to change the vibe , change the decor so that it's more relaxing , so that it gives you what you need .
And if what you need is inspiration , what you need is like a constant reminder of where you're going . You can use your space to have something in there , like I love using my home and I see Feng Shui as a 3D vision board .
It's something that there's always something around me that is reminding me of where I want to go , not where I have been , but where I want to go and it doesn't have to be very obvious . In fact , the majority of the things that I place in my space , they're not obvious at all . They're just obvious to me and they mean something to me , all of our items .
Every single time when I used to go through people's homes and I used to Feng Shui their homes and they would say , well , what do you think about this ? My response would be but what do you feel about it , what does this item represent to you ? Because when we know what it represents to you , we know where it energetically goes .
Well , in your home We've just finished renovations , or almost , we're just like at the very little tippy tip of the end , and so almost done .
And after I cleared out all of the Christmas decorations and I took the lights and the garland , the stockings off our brand new mantle , I stared at this blank slate and thought , oh my gosh , what am I going to put there ? What do I want to put there ? And there's a couple things that I could have done .
I could have just looked at the mantle and said , well , let me grab my Martha Stewart living book , or let me grab Pinterest and go and look for mantle inspiration . I could have very well done that . But then my mantle would look like a show home and it wouldn't be personalized and it wouldn't be like a 3D vision board , right ?
Because where my mantle happens to be over top of my new fireplace and just below our big TV but where our mantle happens to be is in fame and reputation , according to the Baglet Map .
So I knew that the things and the items that I placed on that mantle should represent what I want to be to the world , what I want to be seen by people , what people should know me for . And so I kind of , when I knew that in advance , I thought what do we want to be known for ?
So I put a number of items on our mantle that represented us , one of which was my husband said I know what to put .
And so he went and he grabbed this vase full of rocks , not crystals , not fancy rocks , not , like you know , beautiful , expensive rocks , like I mean seriously like the rocks that we picked off of the beach , but the rocks that the four of us , our family , picked up , and they all had something beautiful about them .
And we love rocks , all of our family doesn't . We love to pick them up and we love to , just like . I mean , even my 21 year old came back from he was elsewhere and he came back with these two rocks in his pocket which were like they were triangle rocks .
I don't know why , but he saw these two rocks and picked them up and put them in his pocket , and so to me , those rocks represent looking for the beauty in the mundane , looking for the beauty and in just things that people normally don't notice , and so we have a number of containers with rocks . So that is on our mantle .
There's a Buddha on the mantle , because I love Buddhas , but also I think that it just represents fun .
It's the wealth Buddha and he's a big , huge laughing , and I just feel like it's like this representation of like having fun doing what you love and still being successful financially by doing it , because that is the one thing that I really , really want to help everyone with is this understanding that when you do something that you love , you have success is around
the corner . I want my kids to know that , no matter what , when you do not only what you love , but what you're good at , like what you came here to do , what , when you use your gifts , your strengths , you will be successful .
I think done are the times where people think I'm going to be a doctor so that I can make a lot of money , or I'm going to be an engineer so that I can make a lot of money .
I think that we become financially successful , naturally , when we go all in on our strengths , when we know what we're good at and we double down on them , and so that Buddha that's what he represents to me . I also have a singing bowl , which , to me , represents just this , like clearing out of things that no longer serve us .
It's really important to me that I clear out our space of energies that don't serve us , and whether it's other people's energies or space like clutter , decluttering , removing even thoughts and emotions that don't serve us . So that's what that singing bowl represents to me and I hope that I represent that to other people .
I have a vase of pine cones and they happen to be our Labradors . She loves playing with pine cones , but it just also represents like fun and also , I think it's a little bit of that like unexpected .
I love the idea of doing something unexpected and having items in your space that are extremely personal and not that you would see on a TV show , necessarily for decor .
I have a sign about manifesting that I got from a dear friend at Christmas and I have a few things that I got from my husband about goddess energy , and there is one that says may God direct your steps , which I love . And then I have an Elinon book that is titled the Courage to Change , and I love that book so much .
I love the name of it Courage to Change . I love the quote , the Serenity Prayer . God , grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change . Courage to Change the things I can in wisdom , to know the difference . I love it . I love it .
I love it and I think that I want women to know that I am the person that will be with them by their side when they have the courage to change . I want to be known for the woman that helps other women Like have that courage . I wanna be standing with them .
I want us to be a team and when they have the courage to change , I'm gonna be the one that helps them come through with it . And on top of that , I have a Malagano Jasper Rock crystal and that is freakishly , exactly the same color as my Courage to Change book , and that crystal represents rebirth and letting go of things that no longer serve you .
¶ Creating an Up-Leveled Living Space
All this to say is that when you're designing your home and when you're redesigning your life , your thoughts , your emotions , your actions , your everything . It's important that your space up levels as well . It's important that you have a space that supports you in reaching the goals that you want to reach .
It is so much fucking harder for you to reach for a new goal when your hands are full with all of your old shit , whether that's old emotions , old thoughts , old limiting beliefs , old habits or old crap , old clutter , broken stuff . You know things that don't serve you .
It is so much harder to move forward and to have new opportunities when you're surrounded by old stuff . So , all of this to say , I want you to really take a look at yourself through this whole process of up leveling . Look around your house and say are these items in my space ? Are they supporting you ? Many of them will be .
I'm not suggesting you go and you like you know just like take everything out and burn it all . What I am saying is there will be a lot of things in your space that support the person that you want to be , that you're moving into , and there will be some changes that you want to make . Look around your space and go . Does this still serve me ?
And if it doesn't make you feel good , why do you have it in your house ? That's the shift . That's the first shift to make this year , in 2024 .
