Episode description

What if a simple haircut could cut away your troubles? Join Sandra Priestly as she transforms the mundane into the magical with a fresh perspective on life’s routine tasks. In this episode, Sandra uses a personal tale of her haircut adventure as a metaphor for shedding the weight of worries and embracing a renewed sense of self. Inspired by her friend Carla's phrase, "getting my troubles cut off," Sandra shares how shifting our mindset can infuse everyday activities with powerful, positive energy.

As Sandra reflects on how we attach meanings to our daily experiences, she challenges listeners to reconsider what they make things mean in their own lives. Whether it's the dread of summer ending or the joy of a fresh haircut, Sandra encourages a mental shift that could make a world of difference. This episode is a lively exploration of reshaping narratives and finding joy in the small things, all while embracing each day with a burst of fresh energy. Tune in for a session that's all about finding your brilliance and living your best life with less resistance and more spontaneity.

I'm so glad that you're here . You are listening to . What the fuck did she just say with your host ? That's me , sandra Priestly . I'm all about living our best life and finding our zone of brilliance and then removing the resistance so that we can go all in .

I say random , crazy shit , which is why I called this podcast the way that I did , and I really hate long drawn out intros . So let's fucking go . I got my haircut yesterday . Now , if you follow me online and you see my pictures , you'll notice like I have varying lengths of hair .

I really like my hair to be short and kind of wedgie , and lower in the front and higher in the back , but there are times where you you will see me with like super long hair and it's because I just I hate appointments . I just I just fucking hate appointments .

And so I like I always think , oh , I should get my haircut , but then I go and eat a sandwich and I don't book the appointment . My sister-in-law is a hairstylist . She is literally like a block and a half away from me and I don't book the appointment . How ridiculous . It's just ridiculous .

Anyway , I have that kind of hairstyle where I can just let it grow . I don't have bangs , so it's not annoying me , you know , but it looks so much better when I have it done . Like it , just like I . I am new , energy , new me today , because I have this like cute little haircut Every single time , without fail .

When I get my haircut , I think of my friend Carla , who always said I'm going to get my troubles cut off . And well , she said that when we were living in the same small town . So like I'm not even joking like 20 years ago , 20 years ago , she said this I'm going to get my troubles cut off . And I went what do you mean ?

And she said that's what I think every time I go get my haircut , I'm going to get my troubles cut off . So for 20 years , every single time I went to go get my haircut which sometimes is like four or five , six months apart , but still I think I'm going to get my troubles cut off .

I didn't even have a lot of troubles yesterday , but I feel like anything that I did have gone . I feel so I don't know energetic . I feel happier . I think I lost three pounds . Like I don't even know , like maybe there's a new Lexus in the drive . I should go and look .

It just feels like everything is fresher , everything is newer , everything just feels like any , any tiny little troubles that I had gone . So now every single one of you are going to like be getting off this podcast now . Right now , I'm going to get a fucking haircut , regardless . This is what I came here to say .

What we make things mean matters when we think , like I could make this haircut mean it's so much time and energy that I'm taking away from it . I don't want to pay the money for it . Haircuts cost a lot . I don't love to go and get my . I don't . I hate appointments , which it also does mean that .

But you know , or I can shift it to say I'm going to get my troubles cut off . We spend so much time not really paying attention to what we make it mean . Like , what are you making things mean ? Are you making things like ?

Well , when my kids were in school even still , because they're in university now , but you know , it's like every single time August 1st came around , I used to think and I still kind of do think oh , august 1st , summer's ending , there's a lot of summer left , but like that's , oh no , the snow's going to fly right .

Or August 1st , oh , gross , school's going to start . If you're a mom , it's like and maybe some moms are like , oh , yay , august 1st , school's going to start . Get them out of my house . I can't stand looking at them or feeding them all day long every day . You know . Get them back to school all day long every day . You know . Get them back to school .

What are we making things mean ? The beautiful thing about it is once we sit in awareness of it , like once we sit in , what am I making this mean ? And we really like figure out our like how we emotionally respond to what we make it mean . We can shift it , we can make , we can choose to make it mean something cool .

We can choose to think I need it , my troubles cut off . We can choose to think August 1st , oh , I love August . I like you know all of the pumpkin spice bitches out there . I hate pumpkin spice but you know it's like Ooh , pumpkin spice season is coming . I could go August 1st , yay , my birthday is coming in October .

But you know , you know what I mean . We can spend a lot of time making things mean , stuff that doesn't help us , propel us to the next level . The focus is always to feel better , but we spend so much time in this Um like we spend so much time in our default , we spend so much time in the negative and then we wonder why we don't feel great .

We wonder why we have this constant shit that's going on consciously , like we're speaking it and we're also thinking it and we're also it's running around in the background Like I don't know , I don't like a kid with a lighter in a I don't know paper factory , you know like just running around in the back of our minds and creating havoc .

In order to really shift our life , we have to think what am I making it mean ? What am I saying , what am I thinking and how can we reprogram that shit ? So that's my tip for today and that's what I want you to do Really think what am I making it mean . What do you think a massage means ? Does a massage mean ?

Oh my gosh , I need to do this for my health . This is really important . Or does a massage mean to you ? I really need this because I'm so busy and I'm so tired and everything is falling on me and I deserve it . How are you making it mean ?

Because if you're going to a massage , feeling like this is a treat because you've endured busy reprogram that shit , reprogram it to say I'm going to take care of myself . This is what I'm going to do for myself . This is self-care . This is going to be for my health . I'm going to prioritize me because I'm worth it . I'm fucking worth it .

We spend a lot of time and we're worth reprogramming what this shit means . We are worth being more intentional with what we make shit mean . We're worth it . And , ps , join my worth it program . We start in October . It's October , it's my birthday month . Hey , this is going to be fabulous .

We're going to reprogram your self-worth and I'm telling you , your whole life is going to change . Your bank account will increase , relationships will be better . You will have a better feeling of control , of personal power . Worthiness is everything . Self-worth is everything , and we are going to build our worthiness muscle so that you become unstoppable .

Really , this is the key to everything you ever wanted . Fuck , I'm so excited to start . Let's fucking go . Thank you so much for listening . I hope you've had some laughs , maybe some ideas , and that you've been inspired to take some type of action toward the life you've always dreamed of .

If you feel so called , I would love it if you would share with your besties and leave a review down below . I look forward to bringing you along on this journey and I will see you in the next episode .
