¶ Remove the Timeline and Focus
I'm so glad that you're here . You are listening to what the fuck did she just say with your host ? That's me , sandra Priestly . I'm all about living our best life and finding our zone of brilliance and then removing the resistance so that we can go all in .
I say random , crazy shit , which is why I called this podcast the way that I did , and I really hate long drawn out intros , so let's fucking go . I've been working with a naturopathic doctor for the last few years on a number of issues that I have , and she said something that was so brilliant .
It's so simple , but for some reason , it was just mind blowing to me and it changed everything for me . What she said was we're going to be able to fix this situation , but it will take longer than you think and it won't happen in the way that you think that it will happen .
As soon as she said that the weight of the world seemed to fall off , I trusted in her and I removed . The timeline Seemed to fall off . I trusted in her and I removed the timeline . What was crazy about this is , as soon as I removed that pressure off of myself , as soon as I removed the timeline of , I need this to happen right now .
I need this to happen in the next three months . As soon as I removed that , everything started to shift and my health started to improve . It was shocking to me how much pressure I placed on myself and the stupid timeline . All I needed to do was let go .
I have above my bed and I've said this a number of times in the podcast , but it is like everything , so I will say it over and over and over and over again but I have this huge , huge sign over my bed that says give it to God and go to sleep and it's similar to I think it's an AA thing or an Al-Anon statement . But let go and let God .
I mean , if we can just let go and let God , you know what if that worked . I saw a post the other day I think it was yesterday and it said if you can trust a pilot to fly your plane , why can't you trust that God is going to take care of your life ? Like another , just mind blowing shocker . That is so simple but so life changing , right ?
Anyway , back to my naturopathic doctor . So as soon as she said that it's not going to happen as fast as you want it to and it's not going to happen . It's not going to happen in the way that you think it is and it's not going to happen as fast as you think it is .
As soon as that happened , everything changed and I started talking about the long game , playing the long game . But when I focused on where I needed to take to get there , I started focusing on the gap in a better way . I started focusing on the daily steps that I needed to take . When I started to do the work , everything started to shift .
I started to focus on the work instead of on the outcome . I knew where I was going . I figured out what I had to do . I trusted in her and I trusted in God , and I just believed that I was going to be divinely led . And so , every single day , this is what I was going to do . I was going to focus on mindset , energy and action .
That's it In every single thing that I was doing mindset , energy and action . One thing towards my goal every day , the tasks that I was completing every single day towards my goal . That was the focus , that was the success , and if I didn't hit it , I just went okay , shit the bed . Today , what did I do ?
I didn't do mindset , I did energy and I didn't do my actions . Okay , well , why ? Or why not ? Why or why not ? I'm going to have a reason , trust me , I'm going to have a reason , but that reason is probably not justifiable , right ? I mean , if one of the actions was meditate every day and I'm going to turn around and say I didn't have time ?
Seriously , I don't have time for 15 minutes . All of my meditations are 15 minutes or less and I don't have time for that . I'm pretty sure I had 15 fucking minutes . I didn't have time to listen to one podcast . It was seven minutes long . Are you kidding me ?
Bullshit , I got distracted , or I just didn't want to , or I started listening to my negative thoughts because , guess what , I didn't do the mindset work in the morning , or I just got distracted by my day . And then , all of a sudden , it's 11 o'clock at night and shit . I shouldn't have waited until 11 o'clock at night to do all of my stuff .
When you decide and you focus on this is where I'm going , but also this is what I need to do every day and then you just sit down and you focus and you do the fucking work . Everything shifts , remove the timeline in the work . We're working on 90 days .
We're doing the work in 90 days and then at the end of the 90 days , we've got a goal that we want to hit and we know what we need to do every single day and at the end of the 90 days , we will be so much farther , so much closer to our goal . We won't even recognize where we started .
We might've hit our goal and started a new one in 90 days , but the focus in doing the work is doing it . It's not just wishing on stars . It's not just deciding we want to go for this goal and then eating a fucking sandwich every single day and wondering why we're not hitting it .
It's deciding on a goal , deciding where we are and where we want to be , what daily steps we need to take , and showing the fuck up for ourselves every single day and assessing every day how did yesterday go ? Good , not good . Remove the guilt .
I don't want to half-ass through life and I'll guarantee , if you're listening to this podcast , you don't want to either . You don't want to stay stuck . You don't want to stay depressed . You don't want to stay in this state of feeling like tomorrow is going to be the perfect day to start , but it's always tomorrow .
You want to stop wishing that you had achieved the thing that you wanted to achieve . I know how this feels . I know how this feels . I know how frustrating it is to see someone that is doing the work , that is showing up every single day for themselves , that is achieving everything you want , and you to say I wish that were me .
That person doesn't have it easier . That person is just focusing on doing the daily work . We need to love the process we're in . We need to love the journey and I know you've heard that before but it kind of sounds like bullshit until you really start to feel it .
But when you start to love the journey and you start to feel the success of just showing up for yourself every single day , everything shifts and we start to be the person who has the thing that we want and then quantum leaps happen . Quantum leaps don't happen by wishing Quantum leaps and clarity . They happen by doing and then opening up for magic .
Let's open ourselves up for magic . We have to put in our effort , a hundred percent effort , so that the universe can come back with a hundred percent of its effort . Can you imagine what happens when you go all in on yourself for 90 days . Everything shifts .
