Episode description

At the time of recording this podcast, I had just completed Day One of #Worthit:  Awaken your inner power and embrace your worth.

And while I don't often publicly share a great deal of the content of my courses, this core concept I think will have a massive impact on you, when you begin to see the difference!

The Power of Self-Worth

Speaker 1

I'm so glad that you're here . You are listening to . What the fuck did she just say with your host ? That's me , sandra Priestly . I'm all about living our best life and finding our zone of brilliance and then removing the resistance so that we can go all in .

I say random , crazy shit , which is why I called this podcast the way that I did , and I really hate long drawn out intros , so let's fucking go . As I'm recording this , I have just completed day one of my newest course , called worth it , and I have provided the women in the group a the most beautiful meditation . It's so funny .

You know , um , I'm on this podcast . I'm sweary . I say stupid things all the time . I mean , they're not stupid , they're funny and you will never forget them , and my goal is for you to like be just burst out laughing every once in a while , just as something that I've said , but to the point where you are never going to forget that I said it .

You know it'll be some crazy analogy that I have said . That always makes you think back to it because it's impactful . That always makes you think back to it because it's impactful my coach I was working with a few years ago . Her name is Janet Kingsford and she called me a pattern interrupter .

And the reason she called me this it just made me laugh Like it was who I am to her was a pattern interrupter because I would be in a group call , a group coaching call or even with her , and we would be talking and we would be talking about something serious and then all of a sudden I would give an example of something that just totally interrupts the

pattern . It's like a word or a phrase or an analogy that , like it comes out of left field , it's very , um , in tune to or very pertinent to the conversation , but it's like a way that people don't expect it to come out of my mouth and , um , so she would call me a pattern interrupter because I was there to like shake things up . And so I was .

I did this meditation and it was more beautiful than I think I've ever done when I've recorded meditations before . I think it was more professional , I think it was more soothing and lovely and I wouldn't probably call myself any of those things , but anyway , it was beautiful and it felt like it was the vibe for a worthiness course .

And then I did my first day one and I kind of expected that I was going to show up on day one , exactly like I show up on this podcast , but instead I turned on the live video and what flew out of my mouth was that this was going to have a different vibe than anything I've done before . I didn't swear once .

I did not swear once on day one , which is shocking . I mean , I can't even get past the name of this podcast without swearing . So how in the fuck did I do that ? Not even swear once .

But it's like I have this , these levels , and then all of a sudden , I had a second gear , you know maybe a fourth gear , and I believe that when those things happen , it's like divine , like a I don't even like to say the word divine download , but it was like I was divinely led to speak in that way .

It was channeled and beautiful and we talked about how my journey with self-worth and really building that self-worth muscle and how I see now , if you go back to my SJP , like the podcast that I did I think I feel like it was three or four days ago , but the one where I talk about why shoes are my logo it really has been this journey of improving my

self-worth and finding new areas where I feel unworthy . One of the things that Jamie Kern Lima she's the founder of it Cosmetics I love . I love those sort of rags to riches stories . I love seeing powerful women just never give up and I love to see what they do with their businesses in the background , these crazy , incredible stories of female entrepreneurship .

So Jamie Kern Lima , one of my faves Sarah Blakely , of course , very much one of my faves , and so Jamie , in one of her podcasts , and one of the things that she always says is self-worth is your ceiling . And all of a sudden it became really , really , really clear shit , if I have a goal , I can achieve it . Why am I not ?

If I have a goal , it means that I am destined to achieve it . Why am I procrastinating ? Why , when I was in university , would I have studying on the agenda ? I needed to study , I had an exam to do . Why would I choose cleaning the apartment toilet ? Because , deep down , I had this sense of unworthiness , sense of unworthiness .

And so if you feel unworthy in some way not enough , in some way , you are going to sabotage yourself . Always , all the time , and I think in a lot of times and Jamie will speak to this as well . There is a difference between self-confidence and self-worth and we think self-confidence is the thing that we need .

We need to build our self-confidence and self-worth , and we think self-confidence is the thing that we need . We need to build our self-confidence , but there is a massive difference between self-confidence and self-worth . Self-confidence is based on mastery and self-worth is based on identity . Self-confidence is based on what you can do and self-worth is based on identity .

Self-confidence is based on what you can do and self-worth is based on who you are . Self-confidence is like feeling great because you've lost 10 pounds , but self-worth is feeling great now who you are right , fucking now .

Self-confidence is external and situationalational and it's best based on success and failure , other people's opinions , and it wavers with criticism or it increases with compliments . Where is self-worth ? It's steady , no matter what . It is internal , it is unconditional .

It is steady and solid and no matter what someone says or does , no matter if you fail or you win , it does not matter . You still have that internal self-worth that you know you deserve great things . It has been such an eye opening year for me with respect to my own self-worth .

Even though I've been working on self-worth , I've noticed , I've recognized that you know I had areas of my life where it just seemed like holy shit , I was not enough and I felt like I shrunk .

And I've been trying to work on where I have been working on releasing all of that external bullshit and standing in my own strength , my own knowingness that I deserve everything I desire , that I am worthy right fucking now .

And here's the crazy part as soon as we do the work to accept and to improve that worthiness muscle , as soon as we do the work to release the ceiling , everything changes . We start to achieve . We start to achieve everything that we desired and everything changes . But here's the great part we don't need that success or failure anymore .

We don't need anyone's compliments , we don't need to compare ourselves to anyone else . We have already built within us the strongest strength , this inner being . We have connected to our divine soul . We have connected to who we are at the core .

And no matter what someone says , someone has done , someone has believed , no matter what you've believed , we know we've connected to that inner being that deserves greatness , that inner being that deserves greatness .

It is shocking to me I think I said this before but it's shocking to me that I didn't see it , that I didn't see that this course was needed so much , when this is something that I have worked forever on and I've really worked to connect in in so many ways , to connect into who I am at the core .

So I hope that that makes you think differently about the difference between self-confidence and self-worth and I hope that you can see that you are worthy as you are . It doesn't matter what you wear , it doesn't matter what size you are , it doesn't matter what courses you have , it doesn't matter what Sally Jo ass hat says . You are worthy .

Embracing Inner Being for Life Transformation

Now Step into that Own that , get into connecting into that inner being right within the middle of your fucking chest and go . That is who you are , true to the core . Lean on that and then make decisions from there . Thank you so much for listening .

I hope you've had some laughs , maybe some ideas , and that you've been inspired to take some type of action toward the life you've always dreamed of . If you feel so called , I would love it if you would share with your besties . Leave a review down below . I look forward to bringing you along on this journey and I will see you in the next episode .
