Episode description

Wow.  My podcasting platform has an AI option that creates show notes and titles.

It. Is. Not. Good.

It's like a word salad I am NOT a fan of eating.

And that's what this podcast is about:  finding YOUR own path in everything you do.

It's just soooo much easier, to do things that feel EASY.  (that doesn't seem like rocket science does it????)

Embracing Authenticity in Podcasting

Speaker 1

I'm so glad that you're here . You are listening to what the fuck did she just say with your host ? That's me , sandra Priestly . I'm all about living our best life and finding our zone of brilliance and then removing the resistance so that we can go all in .

I say random , crazy shit , which is why I called this podcast the way that I did , and I really hate long drawn out intros , so let's fucking go , okay . Right before I recorded this , I went to my my podcast app . Um , the podcast recording platform thing that I use is Buzzsprout .

So I just figured out , just realized that Buzzsprout has an app , so I downloaded this app . So then every day , I get to go on the app and I got to see like . So then every day I get to go on the app and I got to see , like , who listened to me , how many countries listened to me PS , 210 countries have listened to me .

Me , the chick from , like , alberta , canada . Is that the coolest freaking thing ever ? It's the coolest thing ever . I get to see where people are are listening from , I get to see which people or not which people , but like where people are listening from every day , and so I can see my friend from Cape Town . That is like , seriously , my twin sister .

I can see when my client from Grand Cache or someone from Grand Cache is listening in . I can see when my friend from Lloydminster is listening , and it just feels like the coolest frigging thing ever . It is the coolest frigging thing ever . It is the coolest frigging thing ever . Why have I not done podcasting daily before ?

Actually , I'll tell you why because I had it in my brain that it had to be . It had to be perfect .

I had it in my brain that I needed to um , make sure that the audio was perfect , make sure that I took out all the pauses and the ands and the ums and the buts and the you know things that didn't really make sense , because when you're just talking , sometimes it's not perfect , it's not . I'm not writing a fucking script here .

In fact , I don't have anything written down , and this is going to be a fire episode , like I'm just talking , just like if you and I were having coffee . This is what it looks like .

What's interesting , though , is that I had it in my brain that it had to be a certain way , and a lot of times we get so stuck , we pigeonhole ourselves into doing something .

In one way , it's almost like this subconscious plant that we have and then that holds us back when we can just take a step back a little bit and think how can I do this in my most me way , how can I show up in my most me way , how can I be most me ?

A couple of weeks ago , I was telling you that my husband was listening to my podcast one day and he said it doesn't even sound like you .

Now , part of this , I do think , is the microphone itself and probably because I'm in this room , which is a little bit echoey and I am like speaking to my computer , it's possible , but a lot of it was just , I was just so focused on like what are you hearing me say ? And you know does is this making sense ?

And so , you know , when I just started to do it messy , it became so much more like me and I realized that most of us do this , most of us think it has to be this way or no way , you know .

And when I look back , there's so many things in my life that I have done my own way and felt like free and just felt natural , and then there's things that I sort of have these subconscious plans of like this is the way it has to be . It has to be perfect , it has to be .

The audio has to be perfect , and when I've given myself permission to just do the dang thing the easiest fucking way for me , it works . It just works .

Personalized Self-Development Strategies

I was thinking this morning about how I had my human design read . If you haven't had your human design read , it's super cool . You can do it online and get sort of a freebie one I can't remember what . Just go human design free reading and put in your birth date and your time and your place and you'll get it . It was super .

Each time I have my human design reading done , and so the most recent time that I had it done , it was for business , and my really good friend from France had done it , and she said that in order for me to live my human design , I need to use my voice . And so after that she said , like , do a live video .

And so what was crazy was I heard use my voice . I related it to the live video and in my brain it was live video , live video , live video .

And in my brain it was live video , live video , live video , live video , live video and I just didn't feel aligned to live video lately , and what's crazy is that I'm using my voice right now and this feels so much easier than live video . Journaling was the same . I had it in my mind . I was constantly being told journaling will change your life .

Journal , journal , journal , journal , journal . And I would like try to journal . I would sit there and I would think , okay , what do I want to journal on ?

I need a journal prompt , because that's what everyone tells me I need is a fucking journal prompt , and so I need a journal prompt , because that's what everyone tells me I need is a fucking journal prompt , and so I need a journal prompt . What am I going to do ? What is a journal prompt , what ? And then I'm just like , seriously , I could journal on .

What journal prompt will be the best ? Because that's all that's going on in my mind what do I need for a journal prompt ? What can I use for a journal prompt ? And it just frustrated the fuck out of me and then I would just go and eat a sandwich .

I needed to do journal in my own way , and so I started journaling just as a way to release it , in awareness of how I was feeling and what was my next step ? And so I just started journaling your universe . This is how I'm feeling now , and if I felt like shit , I would journal it out to release it .

And then I would always have this I release this all now and I step into . Or I release this all now and I choose to believe , like I always would sort of not just like bitch about my life on paper and then burn it and still be pissed off .

It was bitch about how he was feeling or whatever it happened to be in order to release it in that sitting and then say I release this all now . What are my next steps ? I release this all now and I choose to believe . I release this all now and I step into my higher self . Blah , blah , blah . This is what it looks like Sometimes .

It looks like just journaling out my limiting beliefs and changing them as I write them out , and I choose now to not use journaling prompts but journaling strategies . Meditation is the same . I couldn't stand meditations where they say just get into the zone where you're not thinking about anything . I'm a fucking classic overthinker .

I'm always going to be thinking about something , like if you cannot think about something good for you . But like that ain't me . You know , I'm always thinking , and so I kept feeling like I was doing it wrong . I kept feeling like I don't want to see my thoughts in a cloud that float by . I'm thinking what kind of cloud is that ? Is that a cumulus cloud ?

I should have paid more attention in my university geography class it was called weather and climate , by the way and I couldn't understand the prof because his accent was really strong and I think he spoke five languages , but English was not one of them and it's my only language anyway . So I just neutralize my thoughts . It's not going to work .

It doesn't work for me . But what does work for me is guided meditations , where I'm trying to connect into my intuition . Those are fire . They feel amazing , and I became just obsessed with meditation by doing it that way , with podcasting by doing it this way and with journaling by doing it my way , journal strategies over journal prompts .

And I think that too often we get it in our heads that we have to do something in one way . We don't . We just need to figure out our way . What works for us ? If it works , do it more . Didn't I do it ? Did I do a podcast called that .

Anyway , it's true , keep trying , keep trying , keep trying things on , see if it works for you , see if it feels good for you , if it is fucking easy , it is the path for you . Do it more . Thank you so much for listening .

I hope you've had some laughs , maybe some ideas , and that you've been inspired to take some type of action toward the life you've always dreamed of . If you feel so called , I would love it if you would share with your besties . Leave a review down below . I look forward to bringing you along on this journey and I will see you in the next episode .
