A lesson taped up in doghair 🎁🌟

I say random , crazy shit , which is why I called this podcast the way that I did , and I really hate long drawn out intros . So let's fucking go .

Every year around middle of November , my daughter and I go to winners and we stand for an uncomfortably long period of time in front of these big , huge boxes that have all of their Christmas wrap inside of them .

So we decide on our color theme and then , once we decide on that , then we pick up every single one and we see if they go together and we basically channel our own inner . Sarah Richardson you know when Sarah Richardson , the interior designer from Canada .

She is well known for her mixing and matching of fabrics and I used to always be so impressed Actually , both my daughter and I we would watch her do this . She would take patterns that just did not seem like they would go and , wow , she could pull them together and just make the most amazing room . This is what we're doing , but it's with Christmas wrap .

So this year actually last year our Christmas wrap was white and gold and silver . Oh my gosh , it was so pretty . But my husband said as we went to go this year . My husband said can we have some color this year ? He loves all the color . So off we went . All we knew was we were going to do something with some color .

We ended up coming back with the most incredible paper dark greens , some pretty reds and some white , like kind of an off-white , creamy , kind of off-white , and then also some like brown paper . They look so amazing under the tree , like staring at it . I don't want anyone to open it on Christmas morning .

I just want to just keep all of the presents there because it looks so beautiful . Side note , the picture of all of our presents is on my Facebook page . It's called the Feng Shui Chick . So this year , my daughter and I , we picked the most amazing colors , the most amazing prints , the most amazing wrapping paper .

My husband is happy that there's some color under the tree , although I think that he would prefer like all of the colors , like the whole rainbow of colors under the tree , although I think that he would prefer , like all of the colors , like the whole rainbow of colors under the tree . This is what's interesting about this .

As we were wrapping all of the gifts , our black lab is in shedding season and it seems that no matter how often we vacuum we vacuum right before we're going to wrap the gifts there is at least one dog hair stuck under a piece of tape on every single present . I swear , there is not a present without dog hair attached .

And you know , I was thinking about this because , for as annoyed as I could have been about the dog hair and for as much time as we spent pulling out a piece of tape , noticing there was five dog hairs under that fucking tape , pulling off the dog hair , trying to make sure that there was no dog hair before we stuck it down onto the paper , only for another

dog hair to be under there , we could have spent so much time being annoyed , wanting to shave her , you know , and thinking it was the biggest thing in the world . But you know what ?

No one is going to even notice there is one dog hair , let alone a hundred dog hairs in those pieces of tape , and also anyone that would be in my house won't care about the dog hair because she's an amazing dog dog the dog care comes with .

We spend so much time worrying about things that no one even thinks about , and that goes for everything , whether it's the tape , a spelling error on your newsletter or whether you've shown up imperfectly on your social media post . We spend so much time agonizing over tiny little things that no one would even notice .

We expect perfection for ourselves , but no one expects perfection from us , but no one expects perfection from us . I used to say that there was no possible way that anyone could ever be harder on me than I am on me , and I think that that is so true for the most of us .

But I'm working my ass off to make sure that I can lighten up a little bit , that I know that I don't have to be perfect and that perfection is not inspiring

. I hope that you spend your time in 2025 lightening up a little bit , not taking yourself so seriously , not worrying if there's dog hair in the tape on your presence , because , at the end of the day , no one will notice nor judge you if they do Now go , have a great day .
