Experts in mountain warfare the Gurka Soldier would be a backbone for the allied troops in North Africa and in Italy. But, it was their perfection and revolution of jungle warfare that made the Gurkha soldier invaluable during the Second World War. Hailing from Nepal, and fighting for the British under the Indian Army, the Gurkha soldiers would lead the charge to recapture Burma.
