Some people believe they are Christians because they prayed a prayer to "receive" Jesus because there is a Bible verse that says to do just that. BUT...that 's NOT the whole story. Are we being misled by only hearing a portion of Scripture and not ALL Scripture regarding our salvation?
How did the LDS church start? It seems so odd that 1800 years after Jesus – after the Bible had been put together and people knew it - that anyone would actually believe some guy who comes on the scene with a different message that contradicts the Bible. How did this happen?
How do we act around our Non-Christian friends or coworkers or relatives? Can they see a difference in our life or do we act like everyone else? Today we will see that Abraham’s job was to represent God well when he went to Egypt. But he didn’t and the consequences were heartbreaking. Today we will see why how we act really does affect how people feel about Jesus.
Is the LDS or Mormon church a cult? If so – why is that? Can an organization that claims to be Christian - claims to believe in Jesus and God - really be considered a cult? Let’s answer that today.
When something happens in our life that brings fear we have two choices. Trust God knowing He is in control or trust our emotions and push God away. Today we will see how this plays out when Abraham goes to Egypt and becomes fearful. We will see that when he lets his emotions take over he ends up leaving behind a wake of sin and hurt to those around him. Let’s learn what we need to do so that doesn’t happen with us!
Why is it so difficult to leave the LDS church? If someone begins to see that what they have believed all their life is not true why don't they leave the church? Why do they stay?
Life changes. Circumstances often seem out of control. But we can walk with peace and confidence knowing that God is in control when we put on our imaginary God glasses on and start looking at our life from His perspective!
We hear so much about God’s will for our life. We hear we need to pray for it – make sure we are in it – make sure we don’t go outside of it. But that seems exhausting and is that what the bible really says? Today my goal is to show you WHAT the will of God is for your life because the Bible tells us and then to let you know why you can relax and have freedom and be in the will of God at the same time!
The Book of Mormon was supposedly written on gold tablets and given by God to the Prophet Joseph Smith to translate. But did that really happen? Did the men who supposedly witnessed seeing these gold tablets really see them? Probably not since many of them changed their story later! So today lets get to the bottom of this.
