Episode description

What is gentrification and how does it work? This week on Women on the Line we bring you a snapshot of activism around gentrification, racism and police violence from Brooklyn, New York City. On August 13 community group Equality for Flatbush held a march against Gentrification, Racism and Police Violence in Flatbush and East Flatbush. Flatbush is a neighbourhood in the heart of Brooklyn, and Women on the Line went along to speak to residents about what’s happening in their communities. To donate to the Equality for Flatbush Rapid Response Fund listeners can visit: https://www.youcaring.com/equality-for-flatbush-552660Other links from today’s show:Equality for Flatbush https://www.facebook.com/EqualityForFlatbush/Before It’s Gone http://www.beforeitsgone.co Brooklyn Anti-gentrification Network http://bangentrification.orgImani House http://www.imanihouse.org Cop Watch NYC https://www.facebook.com/CopWatchNYC/
