We Need a Landslide

you will have seen it already, but it's worth noting. So. The European Union has issued a letter, a formal letter to Elon Musk, demanding that he censor Donald Trump in their upcoming interview the UN Warren's quote of legal obligations if Musk does not take action to prevent the spread of disinformation, I'll read you a part of of this letter.

Dear mister Musk, I am writing to you in the context of recent events in the United Kingdom and in relation to the plan broadcast on your platform X of a live conversation between a US presidential candidate and yourself, which will also be accessible to users in the EU. I understand that you are currently doing a stress test of the platform. In this context, I am compelled to remind you of the due diligence obligations set out in the Digital Service Act DSA, as outlined in my previous letter.

As the individual entity ultimately controlling a platform with over three hundred million users worldwide, of which one third in the EU, that has been designated a very large online platform, you have the legal obligation to ensure x's compliance with EU law and in particular the DSA In the EU.

This notably means ensuring on one hand that freedom of expression and of information, including media freedom and pluralism, are effectively protected, and on the other hand, that all proportionate and effective mitigation measures are put in place regarding the amplification of harmful content and connection with relevant events including live streaming, which if unaddressed, might increase the risk profile of X and generate detrimental effects on civic discourse and

public security. This is important against the background of recent example of public unrest brought about by amplification of content that promotes hatred, disorder, incitement to violence, or certain instances of disinformation. The letter continues, it also implies one informing EU judicial and administrative authorities without undue delay on the measures taken to address their orders against content considered illegal

according to national and or EU law. Two taking timely, diligent, non arbitrary and objective action upon receipt of notices by users considering certain content illegal. Number three informing users concerning the measures taken upon receipt of the relevant notice, and

number four publicly reporting about content moderation measures. In this respect, I note that the DSA obligations apply without exception or discrimination to the moderation of the whole user community and content of X, including yourself as a user with over one hundred and ninety million followers, which is accessible to EU users and should be fulfilled in line with the risk based approach of the DSA, which requires greater due diligence in case a foreseeable increase of the risk profile.

This is major, and this is major for a couple of reasons. One, the EU has sown themselves to have stricter laws than the United States, where in fact, we have continued to allow Donald Trump to spread his lies and not only continue, but networks have you know, stormed bar A Lago so that they can be front row to his stream of consciousness, his bullshit, and his oh I'm sorry. According to NPR one hundred and sixty two lies that he told at that quote unquote press conference

that took place last week. That means, folks, by the way, one hundred and sixty two lies that Donald Trump told at mar A Lago, that was two lies, two and a half lies. I'm sorry a minute. If that is not fucking compulsion and DSM five worthy, I don't know

what is. Nonetheless, the EU ahead of this event that Elon Musk is of course putting together because he himself is a effectual white supremacist, in cell transphobic piece of garbage that they're basically saying to him, you've been put on notice, right, So if you move forward with a man that you know is a known liar that stokes violence, that caused an insurrection inside of the United States and continues to fuel white supremacy and white Christian nationalists beliefs,

then we are going to take action. And I only wish, dear friends, that the United States had a Congress that actually cared about the spread of disinformation, white supremacy, racism, and hatred, because if we did, then following the insurrection following January sixth, twenty twenty one, Congress would have sprung into action to ensure that our airwaves, our online social media platforms were safe spaces and devoid of content from Donald Trump and his white supremacist militia that he called

into action, but instead there is none. There has been no action that has been taken over the last few years since that devastating day in our country, and for folks that have been following what has been going on inside of the UK, it has been an absolute shit show, with Nazi groups and other white supremacist groups marching, vandalizing, burning buildings, setting fire to cars, terrorizing the migrant population, the Muslim population in these areas, which by way are deep.

I will say that it did warm my heart to see the thousands of anti racist protesters that have flooded the UK in recent weeks as a pushback to what has been going on at the hands of these white supremist fascists. But clearly the EU is incredibly concerned with the fact that Donald Trump's rhetoric cause and effect leads to increase in violence, and they are already dealing with a volatile and violent situation. So you know, my whole

thing is that we know where Elon Musk stands. We know that Elon Musk fired the entire department that was monitoring hate speech and language on the Internet that as soon as he took it over, there has been a flood of bots and hatred and violent language, misogyny and racism that has taken over Twitter. That nothing good has actually come out of Elon Musk taking over this platform, and they're aware of it, and he has weaponized it against various communities that he does not like and wants

to see decimated. The fact that Elon Musk is allowed to continue on knowing exactly what he has done to this site and what a danger it causes to the public is beyond me. But the reality here is that, look, the EU is saying what we all know and what we've been saying about Donald Trump, that he is a violent figure, that his entire rhetoric is about causing pain, causing disorder, and sowing chaos. That's the goal. That's the goal.

There is no part of anything that Donald Trump said during that diatribe Stream of Consciousness like just bullshit that said to us, Oh yeah, this man is serious. I mean, we've been on Donald Trump to become serious since he came down the escalator referring to Mexicans as rapists and murderers. We've been waiting for Donald Trump to get serious when

he referred to African nations as shithole countries. We've been waiting for Donald Trump to get serious when he was mocking people with disabilities and mocking veterans who were taken prisoner, when he has put a target on the backs of women and people who do not agree with him, when he has called for violence against the judges that are overseeing his cases. Folks, the list goes on and fucking on, and yet he continues as of this recording, Donald Trump

is back on Twitter. And why is Donald Trump back on Twitter? Well, one nobody goes on his broke down, fucking social media platform. He's the only one that uses it, and so he comes on to the place that has three hundred million users. Right, even though millions of people have left Twitter, I still remain on because I go on,

I post content, and I pretty much leave right. I no longer there are no longer conversations to involve yourself in or things to connect with, because it has become such a degraded place that you just don't want to spend. Like do you think to yourself, let me go swim in that refreshing, beautiful lake, or let me go and swim in a sewer. I mean, the choice seems to be obvious. What I also want us to think about as Donald Trump's rhetoric begins to increase and become increasingly erratic,

are a couple of things. One, there is recent conversation that, of course is led by Donald Trump and his lies, that Kamala Harris's rallies where she is getting ten twelve thousand and just you know, thousands of people waiting in line and showing up to be a part of history, they have been, according to Donald Trump aied and that

they are fake. Well, for once, The New York Times actually has a headline worth note, which is that Trump falsely claims that the crowd scene at Harris's rallies are fake. That's it. It's not that hard to say Donald Trump is lying and then say what Donald Trump is lying about, as opposed to say Donald Trump calls into question whether or not Kamala Harris's crowd size is true. It's like, no, that's not it at all, because that would have to put her campaign on the defense of something that we're

all seeing with our eyes. And so this is according to Shane Goldmeacker at the New York Times. Former President Donald J. Trump has taken his obsession with the large crowds that Vice President Kamala Harris is drawing at her rallies to New Heights, falsely declaring in a series of social media posts over the weekend that she had used quote artificial intelligence to create images and videos of fake crowds.

Now here's what we know to be true. The only person who creates fake crowds by oh, I don't know, paying people to show up is Donald Trump. And we know this because former disgruntled staff of Donald Trump has said us much. You see the people, the white folks that readily rock blacks for Trump or Trump for blacks,

so whatever the fuck those stupid shirts say. And we see that the people that are in those audiences, and we always later find out that they are paid, right, because guess what, no one wants to show up at Donald Trump's rallies anymore because they get there and this man just dribbles on for you know, could be out on end, like he did at the Republican National Convention.

So this writer goes on to say that the crowds at miss Harris's events, including one in Detroit outside an airplane hangar, which is the one that Donald Trump is claiming was quote unquote ai'ed, were witnessed by thousands of people and news outlets including the New York Times, and the number of attendees claimed by her campaign is in line with what was visible on the ground. Mister Trump falsely wrote on social media site truth Social that there

was nobody at the plane and she aied it. A spokesman for Trump campaign did not respond for a quest for comment, because what are they gonna say. You even have people like the friggin' boot liquor himself, the vek Ramaswami posting on Twitter that Yeah, the crowd sizes are real and why are we focusing on that as opposed to focusing on her quote unquote bad policies. Donald Trump does not have the right people around him. That was

a summary of the vexaries in tweet. And so even his own people who have debased themselves for this man, who have bended the knee, who have kissed the ring and the ass of Donald Trump, can't go along with what he is trying to formulate in his latest Scooby Doo plan, which is to create some type of narrative

that these crowds are fake. Well, guess what, as was reported by the New York Times, not only are news outlets there on the ground with their own eyes and ears, but thousands of people are there and are taken to their social media and posting. So it's just like this weird universe that we find ourselves in where this obsession by the way of Donald Trump, this happened years ago.

It began with his inauguration. It began with the fact that like, guess what, he did not have the same crowds and size as a Barack Obama because guess what, he ain't the same man. He has nothing to offer. And I would argue, and look, I have said this before, and I am not a conspiracy theorist, but I do

not believe that Donald Trump won in twenty sixteen. I do believe that the Democrats just assumed that what they saw was what they saw and he won readily, as opposed to maybe we should have done some investigation into the man with ties to Putin and to other dictators, and you know, the troll machine and farm that Putin used to spread this information, Like, maybe we should have checked things out right, But you just assumed that you take the results on their face, because why would you

ever question it? And you keep it moving. I beg to differ. Nonetheless, that is water underneath the bridge. But the reason why these lies, friends, are so incredibly insidious, is because Donald Trump is currently planting the seeds and has never right stopped planting the seeds of disbelief to his followers so that we can have a twenty twenty reducs where they do not accept the results of an election.

Just like right now, he is also throwing doubt on the polls that show a seismic shift that has happened where guess who is trailing in the polls, Donald Trump. I say this, friends, not because I want us to lose sight of goal at hand, which is this, We need Kamala Harris not only to win, but we need a fucking landslide. We need her to win so big and so boldly that there is no question. I don't want there to be even a margin. I don't want her winning by just a thousand votes or ten thousand votes.

I want it to be a fucking blowout. And the only way that that happens is if we continue this enthusiasm all the way to November fifth. We have currently, as of the time of this recording, eighty three days until the election. And if we can keep this enthusiasm, these zoom calls, this energy, the donations coming in, then

we are ensured that we will win. But let us not count our chickens before they hatch and just take for granted these polls and take our foot off the gas, because if you remember, those very same poles told us in twenty sixteen that Hillary Clinton was certain to win. And how that could be, I don't fucking know, being as how she didn't really go to battleground states or what have you like. I'm not saying that they ran

a perfect campaign. They did not. But what I am saying is that we know what is at stake, and we cannot take our eyes off of the ball for one fucking second here and assume that everyone else around us is going to be doing the work. Because the polls tell us that things are moving in our direction. That is not how we win. We win by staying focused. We win by digging in. We win by pushing past

the finish line. That's how we win. But what I do know to be true is that Donald Trump is in the midst of a tailspin and a fucking meltdown, and that meltdown will only get worse and more dangerous as we get closer to election day. So these are not just you know lies to shrug off for these you know claims that he's trying to get his folks to pick up and run with and they're not doing it.

They are part of the larger stop the steal two point zero strategy by calling her a cheater, by saying that she's cheating by creating AI images, knowing good goddamn well that what he is seeing is real, and that is exactly why he is flipping out about it. We have momentum on our side as we head into convention.

Donald Trump has peaked and plateaued. But you never count that fucking gremlin out right, because every time that we think that Donald Trump is gone, that we think that he's beat, that we think that the courts got him on the ropes, that we think that you know so and so got him on the ropes, turns around, man

is fucking teplon. So the only thing that we will know for sure is if thousands upon thousands upon millions upon millions of Americans show up and vote for Kamala Harris on November fifth and get us over the finish line. Anything other than that, friends, doesn't matter. We need a landslide, and that is what we should be looking to from

the top of the ticket all the way down. Let's give Kamala Harris the Congress that she needs to restore Roe V. Wade, to restore voting rights, to restore affirmative action, to better our healthcare system. Let her get the Congress that she needs to transform this kind into a place that we all can be proud of like we have been over the last two weeks of watching the brilliant athletes of the Olympics. Time magazine has her on the cover with the title that says her moment, and I
