Speaker 1

Good morning, peeps, and welcome to WIKA F Daily with Meet your Girl Danielle Moody, recording live from our podstream studios in Times Square. Folks, I don't know how to tell you this, but things are not getting any better. They're actually getting worse as it pertains to the pandemic. And now there's this meme going around and it says on one side, let's say, on the left hand side, it says my fall plans, and then on the right

hand side is the delta variants. And we are seeing a myriad of them break out all over Instagram and Twitter, and just think of you know, Game of Thrones or this is us and like the Father and the croc pot, essentially all of these memes signify one thing, which is that the majority of us, while we're trying to make light of the disaster that has headed our way, everyone recognizes that the Delta plus variant that is now rampant around this country and is ravaging the hot spot virus

areas and hot spots, not because they need it to be, but because they have governors that just don't give a fuck about their constituents. And they have because they have governors that just don't give a fuck about their constituents. They have very low vaccination rates. And what do low vaccination rates mean. They mean that you're going to have high hospitalization rates with the delta plus variant that is

way more contagious than the alpha. And what is frustrating is this is that all you have to do, folks, is adapt with the knowledge that we are getting in. Okay, this is not a static situation, and yet you have these Republican governors acting like it is or pretty much doing what they did in twenty twenty, which is believing it's a hoax. And it doesn't matter. If you look at the cover of every paper right now, they are talking about two states in particular. They are talking about

Texas and they are talking about Florida. Why because those are our hot fucking epicenters. And you know, the other day I had somebody tell me that they were fucking going to Disney World, and I'm like, what is wrong with you? Like, of all the fucking places to visit right now, Florida and Texas ain't fucking is okay? And I don't care if you are vaccinated or not. Because what I talked about on yesterday's show is that I believe that breakthrough cases are higher, right based on what

Eric Toppelhood said, the scientists that breakthroughs are higher. But here is the thing through the vaccine. But here is the thing. You're not going to fucking die. So remember in twenty twenty when you were washing your fucking cardboard box of cereal because you thought that the coronavirus was on it. And remember when we were washing our hands until they bled because we didn't know what to do when we were trying to stay inside. Well, we don't

do a lot of those things. No, you should still be washing your hands, but we're not washing cardboard boxes, we're not washing our groceries because we learned more about

the virus and so we adapted. Similarly, Now, what we are learning is that yes, there are breakthrough infections of COVID, but those folks that have the vaccine are not going to be hospitalized and are less likely to fall completely and totally ill, which means that you then won't be susceptible to long term, long haul or long term COVID, which is that some people are having symptoms or issues long after the COVID infection is quote unquote done they

are having heart issues, lung issues, memory fog. All of these things are happening because the virus acts differently in everybody's body. So why again, would you not be on every loudspeaker, on every channel, on every station telling your constituents, if you actually gave a fuck about them and their lives, go and get the vaccine. So here we are right now, Washington Post article, and this is again focusing on Florida

hospitals struggle with staff shortages in coronavirus hotspots. I feel like we are asking way to fucking much of our health professionals these days. We are telling them to risk life, to work twenty hour, twenty four hour or beyond shifts to save people's lives. That now we have a vaccine that could very well save their life. People that are laying on gurneys now gasping for air and asking a doctor or a nurse for the vaccine. Well, guess what,

it's too fucking late. And I think to myself, what a thankless, fucking job it is right now to be a healthcare professional in this country. When you are being screamed at and threatened for doing your job. You know the oath that you took to do no harm, to protect people, and now you are being threatened, your life, being threatened for doing so. You know, our politicians also took an oath. They also took an oath when they enter into office to uphold the constitution, to uphold our democracy.

And we can see that that oath means absolute shit to the Republican Party right now. And again I ask, where are the lawsuits against de Satan and against Abbott? Why aren't we holding these people criminally liable for the decisions that they are making that are impacting millions of people within their state. You have parents that are being forced those that want to keep their kids safe, that are being forced into a position where they have no alternative.

It's either they homeschool their kid completely because remote learning is no longer an option because now we have to open up schools regardless of the new information that we are getting. I just don't understand why we are not in a place where we're able to adapt to the information that is coming in right. It doesn't make any sense, But this is where we are, and so this is

what this report is saying. Just north of Miami, COVID nineteen patients are flooding into the six Broward County hospitals run by Memorial Healthcare System as Florida is being slammed with the highest rate of coronavirus admissions in the country. Memorial has enough beds, they say, but not so with nurses.

The hospital system has scrambled to hire four hundred and thirty nine travel nurses as far away as Alaska, and it is offering some of its own nurses well paid, short term contracts to compete with the appeal of working for lucrative outside agencies. It is beginning to pause some elective surgeries to shift staff to patients sick with COVID nineteen,

the illness caused by the coronavirus. Even so, the article says, the large public healthcare system has about seven hundred nursing vacancies seven hundred and I wonder why that is, because do you know how many doctors and nurses we lost to COVID nineteen that risk their own lives to save ours, And when we have the ability to now be vaccinated right now, basically we are just thumbing our fingers in their nose and saying, well, fuck it, you keep working

for us, you keep risking everything and telling you I know that in some places doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals administrators get paid a lot of money, but in

others they do not. And so there's no wonder why they are vacancies right now, because who wants to sign up to risk their lives right to be working twenty four hours a day for a community that doesn't appreciate them, for a community that not only doesn't appreciate you, but has now made you the target of harassment or violence, right,

Because that's where this is headed. You see these people that I mentioned yesterday in Tennessee, that we're screaming and threatening healthcare professionals for having the audacity to go in and provide them with a briefing as to why their children should be wearing masks in schools, as to why mask mandates are necessary, as to why The more information that we learn about this new variant, right, the better equipped that we are to be able to deal with

it so that we can stop the spread. You see the situation that we are in right now, that some states find themselves in right now, it's bullshit because they don't have to be here, right, but they have decided to be pro death. They have decided to be pro pandemic. Never in my life did I think that we would get to a space where the quote unquote pro life

party is advocating for the death of their own. But that's where we are, because what else, how else can you look at this situation when you have Texas schools and Florida schools now risking their own financial stability and well being in order to go against their governors mandates in order to keep people safe. Because here's the thing, folks, this Satan and Abbott ain't sitting in nobody's fucking classroom.

They don't know these kids. They don't know these administrators, they don't know the caustodial word workers, the lunch people. They know none of these people. They're not interfacing with them on a regular basis. They're just statistics. They're just pawns in a larger game for them to own the

fucking libs. But those members of the school board, those administrators and principles, they are the ones that are going to have to have days of remembrance for the staff that they begin to lose, for the children that they begin to lose from their community. Right now these Republicans are just using these people as a fucking pawn. They want to show clippets of videos of people being like, I want no mask because I want the ability to

die and spread fucking disease. It reminds me right they you know, these motherfuckers are descendant from the fucking Mayflower, right because they came in with their fucking small pox too, killed a whole group of Native Americans and didn't give

a fuck. It's amazing to me that as much time passes as innovative we're in the twenty first century, as much time passes, as as much information as we have at our fingertips, information is going to be what fucks us and why because the media allowed for us to create both sides is um on every fucking issue when there aren't both sides, two sides to every goddamn issue.

There isn't a two sides to the issue of mass Either you want to live and you want the people around you to live and be healthy, or you do not, Right, there are not two sides of this debate. But you see the way that the media creates these scenarios is creating some type of cage match because it's good for their fucking ratings, but it's not good for you. And so unless we ask people for accountability, unless we demand

excuse me, let's not ask. We're past asking. Unless we demand accountability and transparency, these motherfuckers are going to keep keeping on because they can. I look at these reports right now and I am literally beside myself. You have California being the first state, the entirety of the state, that is mandating that all teachers, all administrators in the state of California be vaccinated or get tested weekly. And frankly,

here's the thing. I don't think that weekly testing is enough, not when we are talking about a new variant of the virus that can be contracted in five seconds. So if you are not vaccinated, you step out to your front door, boom, you go into an uber boom, you wave to your neighbor right and as they're passing you

on the sidewalk, boom. So, frankly, to me, if you really want to get people, they need to be tested every fucking day, and at the beginning of the day and at the end of the day, every single day. Make it unfucking comfortable for people not to be vaccinated.

That's what New York City is doing. That's what a lot of places are doing so instead of even though I disagree that we should still reinstitute indoor mask mandates everywhere, but in the decision that was made by Mayor Deblasio here in New York, it was, Okay, we're not going to reinstitute indoor mask mandates, but what we are going

to do is institute vaccination mandates. Which is this in that if you are not vaccinated and show a vaccine card, you are no longer allowed to eat indoors, work out indoors, go to theaters, do basically anything inside. I went out over the weekend last weekend, and for the first time I was asked by the host because I wanted to sit indoors too, please, and she says, great, can I see your vaccination card? Now, what we also know is that capitalism and fuckery is going to always be at

play here. So imagine this that we are in a place where people are selling fraudulent vaccination cards for fifty dollars. So you're paying fifty dollars for some shit that is actually fucking free. How stupid are you do you think to be able to do that? So here's this free thing that we are giving you that is going to save your fucking life. But you would rather pay fifty to one hundred dollars for some fraudulent shit and risk dying. Yeah, you are a true winner, my friend. Well done. I

will leave you all with this. It is more important than ever to recognize the signs of burnout, to recognize the signs of depress and anxiety, and do what it is necessary in order to take care of yourself. It is imperative that we do that because no one is going to be looking after us, right I talk about

self care. I also next week on the show, we'll be talking to other people about healing and what it means to move from a place of self care, which are tactics that are important, like meditation, like yoga, like exercise, and move to a place of what it means to actually heal, right, to be in a healed space. And part of that is recognizing what no longer serves us and letting that go. And so, folks, I hope that you enjoy the myriad of interviews that I have next week.

I am talking to some incredible folks. We will be talking with our friend Glenn Kirshner Yasmin Vesuki in from MSNBC. We will be talking with astrologer Tracy L. Rogers. We will be talking with some incredible, incredible people that are doing amazing work with plants, with horticulture and trying to build community. And I hope that you will listen, you will learn, you will take a break next week as well. I will be back in the seat with all of

you next week and back in the mess. That is it for Today's Woke, a f daily podcast to hear more from me, including five full hour long shows every single week, exclusive guests, interviews, and more.
