They Want Blood

July eighth to Democrats. Fellow Democrats, now that you've returned from July fourth recess, I want you to know that despite all of the speculation in the press and elsewhere, I am firmly committed to staying in this race, to running this race to the end and beating Donald Trump.

I've had extensive conversations with the leadership of the party, elected officials, rank and file members, and most importantly Democratic voters who these past ten days or so, I have heard the concerns that people have, their good faith, fears and worries about what is at stake in this election. I am not blind to them. Believe me, I know better than anyone the responsibility and burden the nominee of our party carries. I carried it in twenty twenty when

the fate of our nation was at stake. I also know these concerns come from a place of real respect for my lifetime of public service and my record as president, and I have been moved by the expressions of affection for me so many who have known me well and

supported me over the course of my public life. I've been grateful for the rock solid, steadfast support from so many elected Democrats in Congress and across the country, and take great strength from the resolve and determination I've seen from so many voters and grassroots supporters in the hardest of weeks. I can respond to all of this by saying clearly and unequivocally, I wouldn't be running again if I did not absolutely believe I was the best person

to beat Donald Trump in twenty twenty four. We had a democratic nominating process, and the voters have spoken clearly and decisively. I received over fourteen million votes, eighty seven percent of the votes cast across the entire nominating process. I have nearly thirty nine hundred delegates, making me the presumptive nominee of our party by a wide margin. That is it, folks, that is it. I want the conversations about Biden to fucking end. I said it over the

weekend on MSNBC to Katie Fang. Democrats continually eat their own, Democrats continually provide the right with more talking points. We are at a critical fucking juncture in this country. We are under attack by right wing fascists who want this country to be pulled back into the nineteenth fucking century. Every time that Biden is asked a question about his fucking age and capability, he needs to say thirty four thirty four felony counts. Is that what you want? In

the White House Project twenty twenty five? Have you read it? Because I have? And here are some of the highlights. Is this the America that you want? Because, folks, you may not like the cards that have been dealt, but they are the cards, and you fucking play them, and you play them to the best of your goddamn ability until the game is done. We don't get another chance at this. And I disagree with the pundit class that is calling for Joe Biden to step aside, because those

calls should have been made in twenty twenty one. Joe Biden should have come in as a transitional fucking leader to stabilize this country after COVID and after Trump and everybody else should have been primed and ready to go. But that's not what happened. We all knew how old Joe Biden was. He's eighty one, folks. When he finishes the presidency, he will be eighty six. So that's it. Do I have concerns, I have a ton of concerns. But do you know where my concerns are pointed at?

Directed at? Focused on Project twenty twenty five. So let me read you some of the highlights there for folks that clearly clearly think that we have time to play fucking games over the next four months. Here are some of the highlights from Project twenty twenty five, by by the way, which has been scrubbed from the Heritage Foundation's page because most recently Donald Trump said, I don't know what Project twenty twenty five is. I don't even know

who's over there at the Heritage Foundation. We're we're, we're, we're, we're we're. And so what did Kevin Roberts do, the head of the Heritage Foundation. Oh, we'll take it off the website. We'll scrub it Project twenty twenty five dot com. Though still there still showing us all the things that they want to do. So here are some of them.

They want to end no fault divorce right, which gave women the ability to leave marriages that were abusive and not needing to get a judge's permission to do so and make up excuses or have somebody say no, I don't think so. You need to have more coming to the table than you're saying. I just don't want to be married to this person anymore, Okay. They want to end that. They want a complete ban on abortion without

exceptions in every state. They want to ban contraceptives. They want additional tax breaks for corporations, and the one Percent Project twenty twenty five calls for higher taxes for the working class, elimination of unions and worker protections, raise the retirement age cut, social Security cut Medicare and the Affordable Care Act, raise prescription drug prices, eliminate the Department of Education, use public taxpayer money for private religious schools each Christian

religious beliefs in of public schools, which we are already seeing right in Louisiana with the fucking Ten Commandments in every classroom. They want to end free and discounted school lunch programs. As a former teacher, I find that abhorrent. No child can learn when they are hungry. And also they've done this in some red states where they've refused to take federal funding to help low income families and children, because fuck them, kids, you only care about bunches of cells.

They want to end civil rights and DEI protections in government, Ban African American and gender studies in all levels of education, Ban books and curriculum about slavery, ending climate protections, increase Arctic drilling. Deregulate big businesses in the oil industry so that they can continue to pollute, pollute, pollute, pollute, and where do you think that's going into our water, into our food, into our fucking bodies, with absolutely no accountability.

They want to promote and expedite capital punishment. I remember some Republicans saying that we should bring back hangings write such a good time to be in America. They want to condemn single mothers while promoting only traditional families. Defund the FBI and Homeland Security, use the military to break up domestic protests, mass deportation of immigrants and incarceration in camps, which they did during the Trump administration, and birthright citizenship

ban Muslims from entering the country. Eliminate federal agencies like the FDA, the EPA. Noah and Moore continue to pack the Supreme Court and lower courts with right wing judges. Folks, that's just a glimpse. That's just the highlights. Do you want to live in nineteenth century America? Because that's what America looked like. That's where people were dying, right because they had no workers' protections. There were no exit signs, there were no exit doors, there was no proper ventilation.

Factories would catch on fire. Hundreds of people would be trapped and dying. A time when schools didn't provide free and reduce lunch, a time when we didn't actually teach history, no books on slavery. But I thought it was so great. I thought enslave people loved torture and rape, because that's what they want you to believe. In fucking Florida and in Texas, banning books, banning critical thought, erasing every bit of progress. This is going to affect every member of

our society. But we want to concentrate on Joe Biden's age. I will say this again, I don't give a fuck if Joe Biden is in hospice, I will vote for him over Donald Trump any goddamn day of the week, because a vote for Joe Biden is a vote for our democracy, It is a vote for our rights, It is a vote for our freedom to exist how we choose. I was telling my mother the other day, check on your passports, make sure that the date of expiration and shalla is not coming up soon, because these are things.

If you remember, during COVID, Donald Trump denied New Yorkers the ability to get global entry. Think about the ways that you move through society freely, and understand that the only reason you move in that way is because of democracy, is because of policies that were put in place for

you to do. So what we see is that all of those things can and will be removed, whether it is by the Supreme Court or by these fascist Nazis that want to take over the presidency and take over this country and turn it into a shell of itself, dirty, polluted, ignorant, poor, desperate, hopeless. That's what that list is. To make sure people have no opportunity, no access, so that white supremacists have a complete underclass. You know. For the weekend, white supremacists marched

in Nashville. They march down main Street. They cover their faces. They all have the same outfits because they are emboldened. You will see that action take place on every main street in America if Donald Trump becomes president, and they won't hide their faces because there will be no fear of repercussions of losing their jobs. Those white supremacist militants

are Donald Trump's private military. If officers in the military decide that they're not going to enforce harming citizens of this country, then Donald Trump will just get those that he told to stand back and stand by in twenty twenty to clock in for duty. They'll say, oh, those people will be thrown in jail. No, they won't, because most of them are probably cops and judges. We are in danger. Everything about our way of life is under attack.

And what did Kevin Roberts, the president of the Heritage Foundation say on national television. This is the Second Revolution war and currently it's bloodless and it will remain that way if the Left allows it to be, meaning that if we lay down and clock in for their subjugation, then they won't kill us. That's what the fuck he said. They want blood, they want war because they want to be able to kill as many people of color, as many women as possible, and have cover for it. Say, oh,

they were asking for it. We're talking about letting loose a bunch of Kyle rittenhouses. If Donald Trump is elected, people that will go around killing black people and people of color in this country for sport like they did in the nineteenth and in the twentieth century. Folks, this election is not a game. I have talked at nauseam on the ways in which I disagree with Joe Biden, the ways in which he was not my choice to beat Donald Trump. But you know what he fucking did.

We beat Donald Trump. We the people beat Donald Trump. We beat back white nationalism, We beat back against misogyny, homophobia, and transphobia. We did that. Biden is but a man, but backed by the people, we can save our democracy for four more years. And in that time, my god, do we need to focus on fucking power and a long term strategy plan to push these fucking maniacal lunatics

to the margins of our society. We can't do that if we're spending all of our time attacking the person that is lowering drug costs, eliminating student loan debt, building bridges and tunnels with this infrastructure bill, putting people back to work by adding hundreds of thousands of jobs. Joe Biden has been at work for this country his entire life,

and over the last four years. After inheriting the worst economy, he turned this shit around while also restoring faith and hopefulness back into this country that had been drained by Donald Trump and MAGA. So what do I think that we need to do right now? I think that we need to circle the fucking wagons. I think that we need to keep our eye on what is most important, which is preserving what is left of our democracy that the Supreme Court has not yet taken away, which is

our right to fucking vote and to organize. But that's up next, folks, that's up next. If you love somebody that is queer, if you love somebody that is in a union, if you love a child that is in a public school. Right now, if you are listening to this and your air conditioner broke down because you're in a place where it is above one hundred degrees, we're talking that in some parts of the country over the weekend were one hundred and twenty degrees. But they want

to roll back climate protections. These people are not patriots. They don't give a fuck about this country. They don't give a fuck about Americans. They want to bring us back, and we have to be more committed than ever into pushing this country forward, come hell or high fucking water. I would rather fight with a president that I disagree with sometimes than fight from my life against tanks rolling down the street looking to throw people like myself in camps.

They don't want to live side by side with us. That is exactly what Justice Alito was caught on tape saying, I wish that they would just pick a state and get the fuck out. I hear Alaska is nice. Go there. We have but a handful of months left to put this country back on track way from MAGA and towards democracy. The UK did it, the French did it. Next up, it is our fucking turn.
