But I'm really excited about bringing the Danielle Moody Show, particularly with a little over a month to go until the election, folks, and I feel like we need more community and more conversations.

I love podcasting, but I really have been enjoying going live with Jajahat Ali at twelve pm Eastern on Democracy Ish over on YouTube, and I think that a Monday through Thursday five pm Eastern show that is alive will be a lot of fun. That way, you can connect with other people who are like minded, be in conversation get advice, share jokes like just build better community. That is what I'm seeking to do over on YouTube. So I hope that you all will join me over there

today five pm Eastern, We're kicking off the Danielle Moody Show. Okay, So, without further ado, my dear dear friends. Wow, it's not even October. I keep saying this, you know, because like in politics, they're always like before the election, the October Surprise and what happens, And it's like, without bail, something happens.

But it feels like, I mean, I don't know, folks, haven't we been living inside of like a seven year October surprise where like every day something seems to pop off and we're just like, oh my god, wow, crazy, And then the next day it's like, oh my god, wow crazier to the point where check this out, to the point where this because I wasn't even going to bring this up today and so now I need to pull it up as I'm talking. But did you all hear that Kamala Harris's one of her offices were shot

at so a couple of days ago. This is now last week at this point, harris campaign office in Arizona damaged by a parent gunfire is what the headline at ABC News was. And apparently the same office was shot out a week prior, and there are pictures of bullet holes in the glass and glass shattering. And would you understand that this hasn't even broken through like news news like disrupted cable news to where we're having wallda wall

coverage about shit like this. And I'm just mentioning it now because it just popped into my mind that I hadn't brought it up. I don't think on any of my shows because it hasn't taken hold, right, And I'm just like, what does that mean? What does it mean that we are living in political times where people, buildings, things get shot up, that that has become like what so commonplace that we just shrug our shoulders at it.

It's it's so fucking wild. So thank god obviously no one was hurt, because I think that if somebody had been hurt, if somebody had been shot, then you know, it would make bigger news. But I think that that that's the problem, right, And you know the problem is that political violence since Donald Trump came down that escalator

has just become normalized. Right, Stochastic terrorism is just like another Monday or a day that ends in Why because we have representatives like Clay Higgins who took to his social media last week to disparage and threaten the Haitian community in this country and then you know, oh, takes the post down, but then goes on cable news and says, I can say whatever the fuck I want. These people do not give a fuck the laws, political news, they

don't matter. You know, even when the Fisher Price speaker, Speaker Johnson, was asked about, you know, Clay Higgins's remarks with regard to the Haitian people, he rolled his eyes and said, oh, he's just outspoken, and you know he's a decent man and a gentleman, and he went and prayed on it and then took it down after he was confronted on the floor. Don't talk to me, don't use the fucking term gentleman and say that somebody who is literally a rabid racist is just outspoken. Like that's

the thing. That's the gas lighting that the Republican Party has been using, that mainstream media has now incorporated into their coverage that oh, we are supposed to applaud brash, authentic speak right, so to speak, because there are no norms with what kind of language is acceptable in public discourse, right. And it seems to me that the only way that somebody is actually referred to as a racist is if they won self identify and then two if they just

happen to use the N word. But everything else is pretty much fair game. That's that's what our mainstream corporate media has taught people over the last over the last almost eight to ten years under Donald Trump. And so this story you know, was buried right in Tempe, Arizona, was just did not come above the fold or ring alarms to any real pips. And so I'm bringing it to you because I think that it's important for us to recognize where we are. It's the same thing that

happens with shootings these days. If it's not like, you know, four is the barometer apparently, or I think they might have raised it for what is considered a mass shooting. But because so many you know, h one, two, three, four people are being shot these days that they want to raise it so that we're not always talking about mass shootings. Is that not insane? So raise the threshold so that it doesn't seem like it's happening all the time,

But it is happening all the time. But now we just want to make it so if it's five or more, ten or more people that are shot and killed, and then we cover the story. I tell you, folks, it is we living in wild times. I feel like we're literally inside of the wild, wild West. And I will say this, you know, as we're watching the poles, which I tell you all to take with a grain of salt.

What is just still so shocking to me. And I talked about this last week as well, is the poll numbers for white women and the fact that like they're not quitting on Donald Trump. I talked about this on Friday on Democracy Ish when I went live, like they fifty percent, fifty percent of white women are still voting for Donald Trump. And by the way, I don't need a bunch of white women in the comments telling me

it's not me. It's not me, it's somebody, y'all. And if it's not you, then go get your friends, go get your family members, right. Host some parties, host some zooms, host some conversations, because if it's not you, then you need to check on who the fuck is in your circle, because it can't be fifty percent that y'all don't know. And it's not every other group's responsibility to try and wake these women up. That's why I keep saying that

it's everyone's responsibilities. As we barreled down to the last days of this campaign, folks like this shit is razor thin, and it is terrifying. It is terrifying that JD. Van's a man that thinks so fucking little of women outside of us being incubators for patriarchy and for white women to be incubators for white supremacy, that like this man could be a heartbeat away from the white from the

becoming president, and Donald Trump only stays eating McDonald. So like him dropping dead is not, you know, something that's impossible to occur. And it's one of the reasons why I believe that JD. Vans was placed in that position, because you know this dot c A was released and you can see from the jump that JD. Vans never like Donald Trump. He likes money and he likes power,

both of which he got from Peter Thiel. And then you hook up with the folks at the Heritage Foundation, he's the one that's writing the forward of Project twenty twenty five. They knew what they were doing. Donald Trump is their whale. He's the one that brings in, right, the quote unquote thing jd. Vance doesn't have a personality, has a personality of a communion fucking wafer that you

want to choke on. So you have Donald Trump be the razzle dazzle, right that then ushers in this Christian fundamentalist, white supremaist ideology that then becomes like the law of the land, folks, we got a fifty to fifty chance that their warped vision of America doesn't become our norm, peeling away one right after the other, turning this place

into a just dystopia. So you know, for those women who you know continually want to say to me, not this white woman, I say, go get your people, Go get your people, because they're the ones that are clearly you know, need a talking to, need a kind ear or shoulder to be able to get through to them, because apparently taking away abortion is not enough, taking away

bodily autonomy is not enough. So maybe when they're also not allowed to work, not allowed to vote, and then it's too late, that then maybe some action will be taken, but you know, by then it'll be too late. So, you know, I look at these stories that are coming up, and I am trying to keep my spirits up because I believe that the work that the Democratic Party has been doing since July, since this change, has been what

I have been waiting on for so many years. The fight, the energy right, the recognition that money actually needs to go to down ballot seats, that this election isn't just

about the presidency. It is about who is at the school board, the city council, in the state houses, you know, like it is about those positions, because what the maga verse has been doing is infiltrating all of these smaller offices, wielding power and reshaping this country town by town, city by city, and as Steve Bannon said, village by village. Their agenda, folks, is so big, so audacious, and they

implement it bite by bite. And so if we are just consistently focused on the top of the ticket, then we're missing the opportunity. So the fact that while the RNC is paying money for Laura Trump to believe that she's going to be the next American idol, that the Democrats are doing what they need to do in order to flip the seats that we need. And the thing that I want folks to understand too, as we make

our way through this election. Much in the same way that I think that we wanted to believe that twenty twenty we were going to get rid of Trump, We're going to sigh, you know, this big relief, and then we were going to go back to life as normal.

And what do I mean by life as normal? Meaning that you could not utter the president's name every other second of the day, you could not have your phone glued to the alerts on social media to make sure that they hadn't tweeted us into World War three, or that you know, there weren't some other type of subterfuge or attacks that were happening, or the alerts about how many you know, trials Donald Trump is gonna be facing,

and all of these things. It's been exhausting, we know this, and so this belief that if we just vote this time that it all goes away. I think that we need to divorce ourselves from that dream. It's not true. We're going to need to remain vigilant, not on edge. Right if Kamala Harris is able to win, but we're going to need to remain vigilant. We're going to need to remain tapped in because Project twenty twenty five will turn into Project twenty twenty six, twenty seven to twenty

eight and onward. That if they lose this time, it's not as if they're gonna go lick their wounds and go back to their you know, Reaganesque beliefs, which were also terrible, but at least they weren't anti democratic. They're not gonna do that, folks. They're going to polish off a younger, sharper version of Donald Trump and put that in America's face and say we can't all be fascist. Look, this one wears a sweater vest like they fucking did

with Youngkin in Virginia. You know, they speak in complete sentences so they can handle everything. No, they have sworn their allegiance not to the Constitution of these United States and not to the flag, but to a party. They believe in party over everything, and so Republicans cannot be trusted,

not now, not ever. And it's going to be up to us, all of us again, to keep eyes wide open and make sure that we are engaged not just every four years, not just every two years, but every year, making sure that we know what are our kids learning, what books are allowed inside of their schools, what program who's sitting on what boards in my town? Are there vacancies?

Because I got time and can run. If we are going to reimagine America and to create the multiracial democracy that we deserve, it isn't going to be one and

done after November fifth. It can't be because what is scary to me is that it took Donald Trump and company four years to undo two hundred and forty eight two one hundred and forty eight years took Donald Trump in company four to place the right wing justices, to remake the federal benches, to instill religious zealous and white supremacists, to undo the last sixty years of liberation movements in

this country. So it is going to take us a considerable amount of time to put this country back together again, fortify our democracy, and then only then be able to

forge a new path forward. And I don't think that we understand the work that is going to go into needing to fortify our democracy so that the likes of Donald Trump the likes of Maga, Republicans are not able once again to slip through the cracks that we will have lived through the worst and so now have the sense to create the guard rails and the breaks and the checks and the real balances so that it never happens again. That's what I want to see Kamala Harris

and Tim Walls become president and Vice president. I want to see the first four years about fortifying our democracy. I want to see I don't care if like I don't want them to be concerned about the next four years. I want them to be concerned about the four years that they are in and doing whatever it is that is possible in order to fortify our democracy and continue to have conversations about what that looks like. Bring the American people in and make them part of the process.

So much work needs to be done, and we all have roles in the work that needs to be done. It isn't just the job of the president or the vice president or those that live inside of the Beltway in Washington, DC. It's not just the bureaucrats jobs. It's our jobs as citizens. Because we have elected some of the most craven, disgraceful disingenuous, disgusting people into office, and they have weaponized our exhaustion and ignorance and turn democracy

on its head. And the only way that we turn it right side back up or right side up is by staying focused, staying connected, staying engaged, staying hopeful, staying positive, staying in a place of dreaming so that we can reimagine this country and all of its potential. That's the work ahead.
