Good morning, peeps, and welcome to wik f Daily with Meet your Girl, Danielle Moody, recording from the Home Bunker. Folks, it has been a fucking hell of a week this week, and I got to tell you that one just shout out to all of you who have been sending me really wonderful dms and in boxing me with kind of just positive, you know, positive thoughts and you know appreciation.
I tell you often that sometimes I find being in this work to be fairly thankless, because you know, I'm swimming and shit so that you all don't have to, but being reminded that it's next necessary to come up for air, that it's necessary, as they always say, to put your own oxygen mask on before you can help others. So I appreciate everyone, you know, taking the time to remind me of that. So let's get into it with
this fucked Friday. So first off, let's just start down south, shall we, and work our way back up to the north. So fucking rond DeSantis is just hell bent on turning the state of Florida into the hate state, and that's what it is, and that's what it has become. It is absolutely reprehensible that it isn't enough for Ron DeSantis to say, oh no, don't say gay, and let that be about young children, right and you say, oh, okay,
well we'll let that slide. Now, the don't say Gay bill has been expanded to no mention whatsoever of the presence the existence of lgbt Q people from K through twelve. So that means that if you happen to be a kid in school you're suffering, having a difficult time being
bullied administration teachers, Yeah, they can't fucking help you. If the teachers or the administration are bullying you or speaking ill of you, yeah, you have no fucking recourse if you want to do a project, let's say, on an elected official, an elected official happened to have been you know, the history of Harvey Milk or Stonewall or any of those things, talking about Bayard Rustin or any presence there so of LGBTQ people who have accomplished a continuing to
accomplish amazing things in this country. Well, in the state of Florida, they do not exist. And it's going so far as to possibly these laws extend to forcing LGBTQ health clinics to have to utter their doors, just leaving LGBTQ people, you know in the wind right. The governor doesn't give a fuck. In a recent interview that he did, he said that Florida is the place where woke goes to die. And I just want to remind all of
you what woke actually fucking stands for. It means being conscious, It means being politically aware and engage of systems of oppression. And so basically what Ron DeSantis is saying is that Florida is where where consciousness goes to die. It is where education goes to die, It is where equity goes
to die, it is where justice goes to die. Right, And we all know that this very thin skinned piece of trash doesn't take questions from reporters who aren't going to throw him softballs or make him feel good about himself, because you know, that's what quote unquote men do. And I say that with a wink and a nod, because you know that Republican men are all about their masculinity and shooting, you know, balloons out of the sky and
posing with weapons and all of these things. And so Ronde Santis can't take a couple of hard questions, you know, you're seeing pretty fucking soft. And I use that in a way to present to you that everything that the Republican Party does is about projection, is about how ill and deflated and disgusted they are with themselves, and they want everyone else to feel that way as well. Right. Well, you know, here's the thing, Ron de Santis. Queer people
aren't going fucking anywhere. We're not going back into the closet. We're not going back into hiding. We're not going back into a place to feel bad about ourselves and to feel like we don't belong. Fuck you, you're the one that is grasping at straws and holding on for dear
fucking life. And if you think, if you think that your crusade against consciousness, your crusade against equity, your crusade against inclusion, is somehow going to catapult you to being president of these United States, my friends, my friend, you
are sadly and sorely fucking mistaken. Because I will make it my mission, and I hope every single person that listens to WOKF will make it their mission in life, whether you live in the state of Florida or not, to make sure that you are a fucking failure at the presidential level because you are even too fucking weak limp dick Haven to announce your presidency because of what you think Donald Trump is going to say about you and whether or not his followers are going to jump
on your hate field fucking bandwagon, grow a pair. Next up on my fucke it for this fucking Friday. Moving on up to uh, the state of North Carolina where we have experienced this week. I mean so many shootings and these are just the ones that have caught the attention of the public. But in North Carolina there wasn't just one victim. There was two. And let me tell you this story real quick. A father and daughter are
playing basketball. The basketball goes accidentally into the neighboring houses yard. They think, oh, we'll just go over there and go get it. Nope, not in America, not where, not in this fucking sugar happy country, because they get shot at. Both the six year old girl and the father are shot. Thankfully, the young girl was treated and released. The father, I believe, still remains in the hospital because that is what happens in America. Now. There are no room for mistakes, right,
there is no room for an accident. So now let's travel up to upstate New York where that case has turned tragic. Kaylan twenty year old a twenty year old young woman right who is in a car Caylen Gillis in a car with a couple of friends in upstate New York, which, if you've not visited upstate New York, it's fairly rural nighttime driving there in the rural parts, not a lot of street lights, a lot of dirt pathed driveways as you wind your way up in this
mountainous areas to homes. Well, Kaylen Gillis and a couple of her friends are driving around looking for a friend's home. They go into a driveway, realize it's the wrong place, go to make a U turn, and are met with gunfire from the porch, killing Kaylen Gillis. The car was making a U turn out of the driveway and they were shot at, and Kaylen Gillis, twenty years old, is now dead. This shooter has no remorse is being charged
with second degree murder. Then we go to the case of Ralph y'arl, the sixteen year old black boy who accidentally rings the wrong doorbell looking to pick up his younger brothers and is met with a bullet to the head and a bullet to the arm. This is a story that I talked about earlier in the week in the episode Licensed to Kill, where it has taken me days and days and days to process this and be able to talk about it without bursting into tears. Thankfully,
by the grace of God in all the universe. Ralph y'arl has been released from the hospital and is recovering miraculously at home. He's recovering physically from his injuries, but I am certain emotionally scarred for sure, because all he kept saying to his aunt was I didn't do anything wrong. Here's the thing that even if he had done something wrong, even many of them, any of these people have done something wrong, do you deserve to be fucking shot at?
But in America, we shoot first and maybe we ask questions later. All of this stand your ground, ow fucking wild wild West that the Republican Party has been conjuring up for decades is now here. This is how we live now. The week prior to this series of shootings that we experienced this week in the headlines, there was a shootout on a highway in Florida because of road rage, right,
because this is how we deal with things now. It is the flooding of toxicity, of fear mongering that is increasing anxiety, that is increasing racism and hate, that is shrinking the minds of people and enlarging their hostility. Then we have the shooting that took place in Texas where cheerleader Peyton Washington remains in ICU following a game on her way home in a parking lot, her and her friends go to the wrong car, are met with gunfire, and now she is in ICU fighting for her life.
Is this how we want to fucking live? Where we can't go anywhere, we can't make mistakes, There's no room for accidents, there's no room for missteps, because just waiting behind a closed door on a porch in a parking lot is someone in ready waiting to take you out there. Republican ideologies that more guns make us safer, tell me where, because the ones who are facing the bullets are supposedly the people that they care about, you know, the children,
the children that they don't want groomed right by wok ideology. Well, it isn't walk ideology. That's fucking killing them. It's the fucking guns, it's the racist all hopped up on Fox and OAAN and Newsmax get hopped up all day injecting that shit like it's fucking heroin into their veins. Somebody rings a doorbell, somebody goes down a driveway. Ah, I gotta defend myself because that's what Fox News is telling
me to do. The grandson of the eighty four year old white racist that shot Ralph y'all has been doing the media rounds where he says that, oh, you know, his grandfather has racist tendency. I don't know what the fuck that means. I know, either you're racist or you're not right. That his grandfather has been listening NonStop to Fox News, o AN and Newsmax, that he spouts their conspiracy theories from you know, COVID to black people being criminals,
and that it's a steady diet. He hasn't had much contact with his grandfather in the last couple of years because he said he's grown up and developed his own political ideologies. There's a direct correlation, folks, that is being made between what we are seeing in these headlines of gun violence, mass shootings, quote unquote standing your ground and Fox.
So now let me move to my otherfuck it right of the week, which is Dominion settling their case against Fox for the big lie and implicating Dominion voting machines as the main culprit in their lie that they've spread since twenty twenty. So you all know that I hold on to the mustard seed of hope that I stick into my pocket and I just pray for it to sprout.
I had hoped that this Dominion case was going to go fully to trial, to stay in the news, so that the real news, so that people, particularly Fox viewers, knew that this entire network has been lying to them, that this wasn't just one incident but a pattern of behavior. Right when opening arguments were to take place, Fox settled for seven hundred and eighty seven million dollars to Dominion. Now,
I want folks to understand something. And if you watched Ari Melber's show on MSNBC this week, you know he wanted to give a huge rundown saying that you know, for those of us me uh included, who believed that this settlement isn't historic when you look at the numbers. Sure it's historic when you look at the law. But when you look at the numbers, Fox News brings in four and a half billion dollars a year, seven hundred and eighty seven million dollars. Sure is sixteen percent as
he riddled off of their revenue. But I'm pretty sure, and I'm not a financier, but I'm pretty sure that between insurance and tax ride offs that this isn't going to put a fucking ding in Fox whatsoever, let alone. Let alone it's multi billionaire CEO Rupert Murdoch. The reason why they fucking settled is because they don't want their shit air it out. But understand, this is again a pattern of behavior, that's all Fox does. So I'm pretty
sure that they write into their fucking budgets for the year. Well, we'll probably soon because you know, we have no journalistic integrity and we could give a fuck, but we'll write it off. So sure, in terms of lawsuits against news networks, is this historic? Yeah? Is it going to hurt Fox in any which way? No? Is it gonna change their behavior on air? No? Do they have to issue an on air apology on any of the shows that we're doing most of the lying. No, will the Fox viewers
ever know that this case even happened. No, So, folks, when I look at this, I think that it's a major fucking loss. Not for Dominion because they're walking away with seven hundred and eighty seven million dollars, but for democracy, for the fourth estate, for accountability and responsibility, because this is a disrupt behavior. All it did was tell them how next time to hide their tracks better, Maybe use burner phones, maybe don't text, maybe pat people down to make sure
that they're not recording you. But it's not going to change what it is that they're putting out to tens of millions of viewers every single day. Does demeanor and have other lawsuits pending against Juliani and the Mike Pillow guy, Mike Lindell and you know, the bigger pushers of the Big lie as well as Newsmax and Oan. Yes, Newsmax and o AAN do not have the deep pockets that Fox does, so even though Fox is a parent company of Newsmax. So hopefully, you know, we see these move forward.
But if we believe things that we see, I'm sure we'll just see a series of settlements. So Dominion will be a billion dollar company by the time this is all done, but our democracy will be in shreds. But you know, capitalism, folks, you know, I know how difficult it is is to maneuver through these stories, how difficult it is to just kind of continue to grind, you know, continue to be a cog in the wheel of capitalism and pretend that everything that we are seeing and hearing
isn't affecting us on a cellular level. Right, And it would be a lie, right, because I know that my body betrayed me this week with sleepless nights and rage and then grief and then rage again, because everything that I see is just dark right now. I don't see the light. But I do want to end this fucked Friday with just a little bit, and I did the same last week. Generation Z is a generation that is being forced to fight for themselves at such a young age.
But it has often been in this country that those that were fighting the hardest were those whose lives were just getting started. John Lewis was but a young man in his twenties when he was marching in the South and sitting at lunch counters to integrate and to stop
the racist practice and policies of Jim Crow. It was a young people that were out in the streets protesting again it's a senseless war in Vietnam, And once again now it is young people that are pouring into the streets, that are walking out of schools because many of them don't yet have the right to vote, but they're watching their futures be decided by people who don't care whether or not they live and die at the end of
a school year. They're watching their freedoms that their parents and grandparents readily enjoyed be stripped away before they have the ability to cast a ballot. It has always been young people that have shown up to fight for a future that the adults in the room have already given up on. So when I see from Tennessee, can Florida and other states, when I see these young people leading the way, they are what I have hope in because I have lost faith in the legislators, I have lost
faith in the judges. But I believe that what these Republicans are doing are creating a generation of activists. We won't save them, but I sure as fuck believe that they are ready to save themselves. That is it for me today, Dear friends on wokef as always power to the people and to all the people power. Get woke and stay woke as fuck.
