Good morning, peeps, and a welcome to WOKP Daily with Meet your Girl Danielle Moody recording from the Home Bunker. Folks, Kevin McCarthy is an asshole, right. We know this. We know that it took fifteen votes to even get that Fisher Price gavel in his hand. We know that Marjory Taylor Green really has her hand up his ass and is the puppeteer that winds McCarthy up and makes him work.

At the same time, we cannot discount that his shatter right now around using the power of the House of Representatives to open up an inquiry into impeaching Joe Biden based on absolutely fucking nothing other than Trump grievance at the fact that because he's been impeached twice, because he's been indicted twice and we're currently on indictment Watch number three,

that then everyone must be investigated. And the funny thing is is that the only people who require investigation are people who've been suspected of actually breaking the fucking law, none of which Joe Biden has done. This is purely a speculative, fucking waste of tax dollar money, waste of fucking time for Kevin McCarthy to do this as we move into the thrust of twenty twenty four election cycle.

And so what I find funny is that even a current Republican, which you know, never happens often, so it becomes news when I don't know, they get bitten by

the reality bug. When Representative Ken Buck goes on CNN with Dana Bash and basically says that what Kevin McCarthy is doing is irresponsible, and this is what the representative said, and apparently he's a hard line This is according to CNN, A hard line member of the ultra conservative House quote unquote Freedom Caucus pushed back, and he said that this move by Kevin McCarthy to open this impeachment inquiry is nothing more than a quote unquote shiny object. He said this.

It's not just me, it's the public. What he's doing is he's saying, there's a shiny object here, and we're going to focus on that. We need to get all these things done so we can focus on the shiny object. Most of us are concerned about spending. It's an existential threat. Buck said, quote to think it's responsible for us to talk about impeachment at this time adding that he feels the House investigations into the Bidens are fair, he said, right,

but that the impeachment chatter is bullshit. And here's the thing is that this quote unquote ultrue conservative member recognizes what we talk about on WOKF all the time, which is that the Republicans don't have an agenda. They don't have an agenda to move this country forward. Everything that the Republicans have offered is to quote unquote own the Libs.

There's no oh, we need to be fiscally responsible. No, because they added to the debt by seven trillion dollars under Donald Trump, so they don't actually give a fuck

about spending. Spending is the word that they use when they want to talk about completely cutting out social safety nets so that they can balloon the Pentagon and wipe away everything else, so that we can just become a war heavy, military heavy country that makes no investments in the actual citizens of this country, which is what makes

us distinctively different from authoritarian regimes and dictatorships. What makes us different is that we don't in America, as of right at this moment, enforce an agenda through a policy of fear, invest all of our money and strengths into the military, while there are people that are going hungry, while there is no public education, while there's no social security, no Medicaid. Right like, this is what the Republican Party wants.

And so instead of once again the media calling out and saying, well, you're not actually talking about spending, because you all approve budgets that give the Pentagon way more money than they ask for, what you're really talking about is a divestment from public education, is a divestment from Medicaid. That's what you're talking about. Because there's more than enough money.

If we were to actually tax the rich who are your donors, at a reasonable rate, more so than their executive assistants are taxed, then again we would have more than enough. So why is it that you Republicans function from a scarcity mindset and model and yet want to tell us once and again that America is this abundant country. No, you want to ensure that it is abundant for some and desolate for others who you deem to be unworthy. This, to me is the basis of all pushback and conversation

around Republicans and their lack of an actual agenda. You look at this state of Florida, which is bleeding business, right, they are running from that state. Just recently, the Alpha Kata Alpha fraternity, which was planned to have their convention in twenty twenty five in Orlando, has just pulled. You have other businesses, right, Convention business is huge down there, cause who doesn't want to be in the quote unquote Sunshine State if you've got to be at a conference.

And yet you have businesses that are saying, we're taking our conventions, our summits, our retreats elsewhere. You listen to reports, and this is just anecdotal, but you listen to reports of people being interviewed small business owners and they're talking about how tourism is down in this state, which is

completely and totally going to affect their bottom line. So when you look at the way that DeSantis is operating this state, fully focused on the culture wars and not actually on anything else, that is indicative of what the

Republican Party is going to do nationwide. So instead of allowing them to go off on these tangents about fiscal responsibility, why not actually call them out on their irresponsibility as it pertains to giving the biggest tax breaks to the wealthiest people, and we're all still waiting on the motherfucking trickle down that we were promised four decades ago. How

long it takes. And so when you actually have a member of the Republican Party say this is just a shiny object and a waste of fucking time, maybe the media should pay attention to that instead of providing the spotlight and the microphone in order for Kevin McCarthy to turn the next several months into a motherfucking circus. But I think that that is, you know, generally asking too much. What frustrates me, you know, is just the fact that there is so much that is happening, and yet I'm

watching wall to wall coverage on Hunter Biden. I just want to remind folks Hunter Biden's issues have nothing to do with anyone's day to day Why because he's not a fucking elected official. He don't represent nobody but himself, right, nobody voted for him. He didn't lie to the people, he lied to his family, He embarrassed himself. But this individual act is the cause the resistance for the Republican Party.

A man who is unelected isn't sitting at anybody's judgeship isn't doing harm to anyone, but the person who is doing collective harm, Donald Trump, who defrauded the American people, who caused an insurrection and an uprising against democracy and is still doing it. There's nothing to see here, folks.

According to the Republicans, their front runner is a man that is on indictment Watch number three, who just the other day, Representative Ted Lewie read into the congressional record that Donald Trump is an accused and found guilty of ripe. But this is their motherfucking front runner, And like, we're not having real conversations in the media about those facts. Those are fucking facts. Yes, So how is it like that we're here? It's just, you know, the level of irresponsibility.

And I just, you know, sometimes I trouble myself and I stay up way too late because my mind won't quit, and I ask myself, how did we get here? Where did the failure begin? Right? Like? How far back do we have to go? And I honestly think, y'all, it was Nixon for me anyway, I'm talking about modern era,

modern times. If Nixon had not have been pardoned, if what had been seen as good for the country, would have been accountability and responsibility if Nixon had gone to jail for his crimes and received the sentence that was on par with lying and cheating the American public. I don't think that we would be here because Nixon wouldn't have been able to then, over the course of time,

erase his criminality. You wouldn't be able to rewrite that fact because that motherfucker would have had a criminal record. I'm not saying he would have served the I mean probably because he was old, But I'm not saying he would have served the rest of his life and died in prison. Maybe. But the fact is is that in America we believe that a stain on this country would be accountability. When it is the denial of accountability that has us in this situation. And it isn't just with

the cancer that is Donald Trump and Magadum. It is the culture of lying and greed that we have embraced with both arms. Everything is about denial. Richard Nixon could have a long life and deny after the temperature had simmer any real wrongdoing and become a folk hero. But had that man been made an example of to future politicians that you are not above reproach that actually running for office means that you are going to be held to a higher standard because you are not just choosing

to represent yourself. You're choosing to represent a constituent body, whether that be your district, your state, or the nation. So if you are choosing to step into that place, you are not above reproach. You should be held to the highest standard. And so when we chose as a nation to absolve wrongdoing by a raisure, we set up the circumstances that we are living inside of right now.

This also applies to slavery. We have allowed slavery to be discussed in this country as a quote unquote necessary evil. While it was so horrible. Everybody owned slaves. It was just what you did during that time, and we normalized the rape, the torture, the brutality, the dehumanization of an entire people. Now, in contrast, in Germany, after the Nuremberg trials, to hold Nazis accountable for their crimes against the Jewish people,

they built monuments. It is embedded in their curriculum to teach about the atrocities of what went down, not to shame those generations, but instead to shine a light on if not vigilant, if we are not holding ourselves and our leaders to account, that we can fall down on humanity, on our country. And so it is our duty to remember.

And so for me, when I am thinking truly about where we are right now, I think about our desire to just quote unquote be good, right to be seen as good, rather than to be seen as great, Because greatness is about what you are able to consistently overcome and move through, not what you're able to ignore and to pretend doesn't exist. Great people are not defined by what they haven't the obstacles that they haven't moved through.

It is because of those obstacles. It is because of the overcoming and despite quote unquote all odds, being able to move through and learn through the falling down, learn through the darkness to get to the light. And so this country could have learned that we hold our politicians accountable because they're not infallible. That what it means to be a country of integrity and a quote unquote symbol

of democracy isn't that we don't jail politicians. It's that we only want those politicians that have integrity and honesty and follow the rule of law to represent us. You know, the Vice President recently traveled to Florida and she said something in her speech that I want to lift up because she went there to criticize the new education guidelines and new lies. And this is according to an opinion piece in the Washington Post. And the opinion piece is

by a Republican, Gary Abernathy. Why are Republicans so afraid of confronting America's racial past? And this is what Kamala Harris said and what he found himself as a quote unquote conservative nodding to quote, let us not be seduced into believing that somehow we will be better if we forget. Vice President Kamala Harris said, quote, we will be better if we were remember. We will be stronger if we remember.

And then on top of that, Florida State Senator Bobby Powell, a Democrat, said this, and he was talking in the context about African American about black contributions to this society. And again, it is about telling the truth. And he said this, The full measure of African American history is not a handpicked Rosa Parks here and a Martin Luther

King Junior there. It is the sweeping collection of stories spanning several centuries, the lessons of cruelty and inhumanity interwoven in the determination of a people to live and breathe free. It is as much Florida's story as the nation's story,

and it needs to be fully told. America's story has never been fully told because it has been cherry picked to believe that George Washington never told a lion cut down a cherry tree, and Lincoln freed the slaves, and you know, and everything was great, and Lyndon B. Johnson passed the Civil Rights Act, and blah blah blah, and

on and on and on. It's cherry picked. America is and has been exceptional in some ways because of the people that have pushed it to live up to its ideals, that have died, have sweat, have sacrificed, had palaces for the pushing. But when we cherry pick as a way of protection, we make ourselves more vulnerable to lies and authority and fascism, which is the place we have ourselves in now. If we were steadfast in our truth, a

Donald Trump would have never been able to exist. But because only some of us know the truth, and the rest have been protected and wrapped in lies. We are here and that's something that keeps me up at night. We can be better than this, but being better is a choice of not moving around pain, but instead moving through it. That is it for me today.
