Cyclical Trauma

I'm outdone. I'm outdone. What did we experience this week? Let me run down the list. We had a Republican senator threatened to beat up the president of the Teamsters testifying before the Senate, then take to Fox News and just be congratulated for his display of toxic masculinity. We have found that Mike Johnson, the man that is two heart beats away from the White House, believes that monkey pox was sent to the United States to show disdain

for apparently queer people LGBTQ plus people. Last week, we learned about his porn addiction, which apparently he gets monitored by his seventeen year old son, totally normal fucking behavior, and then thoughts, what else did we learn? We learned that Elon Musk continues to espouse anti Semitic sentiments and he allows those people to reign supreme on his defunct, fucking cesspool of an app Donald Trump continues to escalate

his violence and rhetoric against his opponents. Now he's referring to them as vermin, which should sound familiar to anyone who knows anything about Hitler and the Holocaust. What else, folks, what else happened this week? Oh, we don't have a ceasefire, so tens of thousands of Palestinians, largely children, continue to be slaughtered in the streets, and the IDF continues to bomb hospitals and tell us that that's okay and apparently not a war crime because oh Hanna sas tunnels under

those hospitals. So I guess when Putin and other people do the same shit, I guess that they can make up the same type of stories to justify harming those that are already defenseless in a fucking hospital bed, namely babies that have been taken off of, you know, taken out of incubators because there's just not enough electricity, so they've died. Folks. That's just off the do you know what I'm saying? Like off the doom dome is what

I'm going to refer to it. It's so bad, right, almost as bad as Joe Biden's poll numbers, but definitely not as bad as Congress's poll numbers, which are around thirteen percent. Tim Scott, who did anybody remember that he was even in the race for the presidency, has left the race for the presidency. Says that he's being pushed out by people who think that he's gay. But he's not gay. He's just a bachelor who gives a fuck. You're also black. They don't like you either, right, so

just shut up and go away, folks. Things are really bad, you know, and I say this not like you don't know. Oh oh. Also, there was a march for Israel in Washington, DC. Video that came out of that also not great. You know Van Jones, who who used to be somebody that I looked up to, used to be somebody that I appreciated their activism and their work. There's nothing more than a pawn in a grifter when he took to the stage to you know, try and build somebody's common ground.

He was booed and then supposedly accidentally said, you know that we don't stand with Muslims, but I mean like against anti Muslim hate, like it folks. You know, hundreds of apparently State Department officials have signed on to a letter calling for a ceasefire and condemning how this administration is handling the war in the Middle East. Everywhere you look, everywhere you look, things are not good, and they are

trending worse. And all I keep thinking about is a year from now, Where will we be a year from now? You know, I just celebrated a birthday, and I thank you all for your birthday wishes and have kind of taken it easy all week because that was the gift

that I was giving to myself. And you know, in reflecting on my birthday, as many people do, as I'm sure all of you do, I go back through photos and I kind of see, you know, what's transpired in the last year, right in this trip around the sun, and there are lots of things that I am, you know, proud of proud that I've accomplished and done things that I've focused on, but I also look at, you know, past headlines, and we're just in such a bad place

that I think that we believed that by electing Joe Biden in twenty twenty, that we could all collectively take a deep breath and kind of go back to life as normal. Right, that we slayed the dragon, we got rid of Donald Trump, like we're all good to go, not realizing that the disease of magadam of trump Ism had already spread right through the country and that just not electing him and putting Joe Biden is in was

not going to be the curl. Then we thought, okay, well, if this isn't going to be the cure all, then we got to prosecute this motherfucker. Right So he is being prosecuted in has four indictments, ninety one charges, and his poll numbers have gone up and he's raised more money. So when you look around at how far we have devolved, it's like to think about where we will be and the fact that there is a fifty to fifty toss up, folks, there's a fifty to fifty chance that Donald Trump becomes

president again. That's insane to me and I know that it's insane to all of you, but there is a fifty to fifty fucking toss up that the man that is referring to his political opponents right now as vermin that need to be exterminated using the same language that Hitler used. Because here's the thing, and I just said this on one of my other shows, and I want to say it again here because it bears repeating, which is this Everything that Donald Trump said that he was

going to do in twenty sixteen, he did right. Said he was going to try and build a wall, he did right. He said that he was going to ban Muslim people from entering into the country. This first time, didn't make it because it was unconstitutional, and found a way around, made it happen the second time. Right. He said that he was going to appoint right wing judges and get rid of Roe v. Wade Boom. That happened.

Said that January sixth, twenty twenty one. It's going to be wild, and guess what it fucking was Donald Trump outside of not leaving office, which if you've been paying attention this week to the leak tapes that came out in testimony from Jenna Ellison, Sydney Powell reveal he was never leaving office. He never had any desire, never intention to leave. Jenna Ellis said, well, how did I work? That seems illegal? But what was the response? We don't

care because they don't care. They don't care about the constitution, they don't care about democracy, and they don't care about the rule of law. What they care about is power. What they care about is power. What they care about is domination. Like that is actually the thing, because it isn't just power, right, it's the power to dominate, it's

the power to hurt. You See, they're looking at what is happening in Israel and Palestine and they're foaming at the mouth because if the world can look away from now twelve thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, twenty thousand people at some point being slaughtered, if you can look away at millions being forced out of their homes and there's no global intervention, even if you call for a cease fire, if you call for the recognition of the humanity both Israelis and Palestinians,

you lose a job, right, like you could be canceled. So Republicans, right are sea thing, not sea thing, foaming, foaming at the mouth, because if they can get away with it there, what do you think that they can get away within the United States? Who do you think that they're going to try and place into camps? Who do you think they're going to try and blacklist so that they can't get jobs? Right to refer to as

enemy of the state. You see, folks, people want to shrug off Donald Trump, just like they did in twenty sixteen, and we see where that got us. They want to shrug off the things that he's saying and just being like, oh, this is just ravings of a madman. Maybe, But the fact is everything that I laid out earlier, we're also ravings of a madman. And he became president of the United States and instituted them and worse. So, now you have Donald Trump, who is has seen the walls close

in on him. Right. The only way out of what is coming for Donald Trump in all of these trials is for him to be president of the United States. He is backed into a corner. There is never a time when people are more dangerous when they feel like they have nothing to lose. That's the place where we find ourselves with Donald Trump and his sycophants, his followers. They're at a place right now where he's just like,

fuck it. Will file every appeal right, will rile up our base to the point where they are foaming and seething at the mouth, believing that the world has just done them wrong. Then everything, everything that is about decorum or humility or empathy or compassion is somehow part of the wolf mine virus. Will get these motherfuckers continue to be riled up every time that they take a hit of Fox News, and then we'll unleash them and we'll

see what happens. I am becoming, you know, I eb and flow, right, I eb and flow, and right now I'm at a place where I'm like, oh, what happens? What do we do if Donald Trump is reelected? Because we know that that is the end of our democracy. We know we're not having another election. We know what their plans are for the first one hundred days. I continue to tell people, go to the Heritagefoundation dot org, look at Project twenty twenty five. They are not hiding

their plans of an authoritarian takeover. They're not hiding their plans to rid every single agency of staff right non

political staff. They're not mincing their words when they say that they're going to go after people like General Mattis, like Joe Biden, like Hillary Clinton, like journalists, right like, they're saying what it is that they're going to do, that they're going to defund write public education, that they're going to defund social safety nets, and they plan to do all of these things in the first one hundred days. Now folks will say, well, they can't do that. Tell

me why, tell me why they can't do it. Donald Trump said, I alone can fix this. I am your vengeance, I am your retribution. You get all the right people lined up, which the Heritage Foundation has already done. These people will be ready to be installed day one that that motherfucker puts his hand on the Bible, and it is a rap. There are no guardrails, there are no checks and balances. What's left, I guess will be hand

to hand combat in the fucking streets. But he will own the military, and he will make sure that the people that are in charge of activating said military will do so under martial law against anyone that tries to organize any type of protests and dissent. Folks, it will

be a fucking rap, right like that's it. So I say all this to say that on this fucking Friday, I am having one of my many come to Jesus moments where it is really important right to understand what each of our roles are, what our roles are, but also how are we going to protect ourselves emotionally, physically, spiritually during the next twelve months. What is our responsibility to get as many people, whether they want to or not.

I don't give a fuck if you have to get in a scoop of suit so that you can't smell the stench of whatever is ailing you about Joe Biden, because let me tell you something, there is plenty that is ailing me about Joe fucking Biden in this administration right now. But you know what else, I fucking know. No way that I'm sitting out of this election. Ain no way that I'm wasting a fucking vote and putting it in a third party. Ain no way that I'm

voting against my own fucking freedom and liberty. That's not happening Because you know what I can do with this administration. I can argue with them, I can hold them accountable, I can push them. Do you know what I can't do? I can't do that with an authoritarian regime that looks at any type of dissent as an enemy of the state and is either going to expel them or exterminate them.

And again, if you think that these things are not going to happen, I remind you of the cages that children were put in, children who hundreds are still not reunited with their families. I will remind you that there are thousands of children that are dying right now in Gaza that no one gives a fuck about. So you think that there, all of a sudden, I'm gonna start giving a fuck about black lives, queer lives, Muslim lives, non white, non Christian, non male lives. I don't think so, folks.

I don't think so. So where is my mind and my heart? My mind and my heart on this fucking Friday is about making sure that I continue to be as grounded, as focused as possible, that I am as much in joy as my resistance, rest as my resistance because what is coming is going to require a focused, right, well rested, and ready mind. And I can't do that

under duress. But I would be lying to you all if I wasn't thinking about Oh, where I can take this show from that will be safe because while I'm inside of a bunker, right and I'm not a famous person that has a target on their back at this moment, no dissent will be acceptable, No awakening of people will be acceptable or probably legal. Public libraries closing down, school's turning into what cogg and of wheel factories because critical thought won't be a thing. Queer people and being out

won't be a thinking. Do you know what just passed the other day piece a little piece of policy and a little in Tennessee that has now made it illegal to be gay in public. They refer to it as sexual misconduct, So any type of Oh, I don't know, I have no idea how this will rock, but google it. They passed it, right, So watch those little ordinances and things come up in other Southern places, rural places, Midwest places and say that they're just protecting the children. Right.

The Holocaust didn't start with camps. What is happening in the Middle East in Israel and Gaza didn't happen, didn't start on October seven. The invasion, an aggression that Russia has shown against the Ukraine, didn't just start two years ago. This has been cyclical trauma, devastation, and war driven by ego, toxic masculinity, and greed. That's the foundation of how nation states were built. So I continue to say, we will

not bomb our way out of this. We will not get out of this by burying our heads in the sand and pretending it's not happening. We have to imagine our way out. We have to dream our way out. We have to love our way out. We have to find a different way and a different mode of fighting to get our way out of this. But we do not do so by acquiescing and saying that we're going to throw away our very important and powerful vote on a third party or not voting at all, because that,

my friends, will ensure a Trump win. And just know, you don't get another bite at the apple if Donald Trump becomes president again. His own fucking people are telling you that in footage, they'd never thought would see the light of day outside of a prosecutor's office because they would never knowingly turn on Donald Trump in the public's eyes, because they know what has happened in the past when people have done so. Folks, it's time to wake up

and wake up everyone around you. It's time to figure out how you talk to that uncle, that niece, that nephew, that auntie who seems to be on the fence or for Trump. It's time to open up dialogue and figure out how to connect. Connect through listening right, not just shutting people down. We got to do some work here, our own community, organized inside of our own families, and it begins. Let it begin now. Let it begin this
