Speaker 1

Good morning, peeps, and welcome to wok F Daily with Meet your Girl Danielle Moody recording from the home bunker. Folks, I want to start out on this woke Wednesday by expressing my deep, deep sorrow and grief about the story that I'm going to bring to you, which if you follow me on social media then you have already heard ijk Owens. Aj Owens, a black woman, mother of four children, was shot and killed by her white, racist neighbor in Florida.

The issue at hand is that this racist white woman was harassing AJ's children, calling them racial slurs, scaring them and Aj like any mother, any hairgiver. After the children ran and left their iPad in a field, the woman stole their iPad and then threw it back at them, breaking it. This is a grown white woman attacking black children. Okay. Aj then went with I believe one or two of her children to that neighbor's house to have a conversation

with them, was met with gunfire through the door. She is now deceased. The woman, the white woman who shot her, is chilling at home, not arrested, not being charged with murder nothing. My assumption is that it is going to take once again collective outrage and action, and this story being brought to national headlines in order for there to be any semblance of justice. What makes me sick to death about this story? Which are so many things right?

That black children can't be children without white adults harassing them and threatening harm, That a black mother, a black neighbor cannot try to talk civilly to their white neighbor without threats of violence or being met with violence and an untimely death, and that even in that death there will be no justice. The death will be in vain

because of the fascist state that they live in. Now, I want to remind folks of a case that you all remember, if you've been listening to this show for several years, of Marissa Alexander, a black woman living in Florida with her children, who was working to get out of an abusive relationship. Her abuser came into the home where she was with her children. She fired a warning shot with her gun in this ceiling, not directed at said abuser. She was immediately arrested, her children were taken away,

and in her trial, she was thrown in jail. It took campaigns, coordinated campaigns and action. To get Marissa Alexander out of prison, because in Florida, the only people that have the ability to quote unquote stand there ground are white people. So whenever people want to turn these stories around and say, well, what would happen if that person were black, well, if their body weren't in a chalk outline, then they will most likely be in prison automatically, no

questions asked. This is not a civil society, not one where neighbor can shoot neighbor and just go on about their day, robbing children of their mother, of their fathers, of their families because you are a bigot, and your bigotry is being fed and fueled by the governor of that state, by the Republican Party, by Fox outlet, by Newsmax, by QAnon. You see, Ron DeSantis and his little bullshit war on wokeness is not just a thing to be

laughed off. Oh look, he's going to fight Mini Mouse and Mickey Mouse, or oh look, he can't get out a sentence without saying the word woke, which he cannot define fifty thousand times in less than a minute. What Ron DeSantis is waging war on are people of color

and queer people. That result in violence against those people, and it is an abdication of duty and the responsibility of journalism that is allowing it to continue and preparing audiences with both sides, to racism, to transphobia, to homophobia, and to bigotry, as if there are two fucking sides. Rondasantis' fascist policies have real life consequences for the people that

are trapped in that state. And for those that say, well, then those people should just move, well, I want you to think about what kind of finances it requires for people to pick up and move at the drop of a hat out of state and just go ahead and

set up someplace new. I want you to think about the thousands of people that were left behind during Hurricane Katrina because they couldn't afford to get out of town, and then we're left to many of them die in of their homes, or die waving down helicopters for help, or be shot and killed by police for quote unquote looting. Because when white people go into stores to get goods, it is survival and they are refugees. But when black

people do it, they are looting. Why do I bring up all of these things, because every single one of them is connected to white supremacy and the erasure of black people in this country and people of color, because what Rond de Santis and the Republican Party want is total and complete servitude. Black and brown people are only as good as what they can provide to aid in the comfort of white people and whiteness. Outside of that,

we have no use right. So if we are not aiding in the comfort of white people and whiteness, then we are a problem to be erased, to be eradicated.

I think that it was said there are roughly what a million point two I think it was a million point two trans people in this country of three hundred and thirty million plus, and yet the Republican Party has waged war on a million people who are more likely to commit suicide, more likely to live in poverty, more likely to experience violence, more likely to be jobless and homeless, all because they dare to exist in their truth and inside of a body that doesn't make them want to

kill themselves on a regular basis. No one is grooming the children, except for the Republican Party that loves to trot out those children with ar fifteens that are bigger than them bring them to rallies holding up signs that say,

don't abort me. That's what in doctrinization and grooming looks like you're waging war on a million people who have caused no harm, who are only asking for dignity and respect that any human deserves for no other reason, not because of what you can produce, what it is that

you do, but because you are. I watched the clips of the disgusting mediocre at best, doesn't have a chance in hell of becoming president Nicki Haley on CNN with Jake Tapper and in her ridiculous town hall, where she didn't answer any questions and Jake Tapper surely did not push back with any journalistic bone inside of his body. Nicki Haley spread a disgusting lie about trans girls being the cause of young ciss girls committing suicide. You don't give a fuck about kids, You don't give a fuck

about the truth. And then mainstream media had the audacity to turn around and say that she's a moderate candidate. No, she is not. She's wearing a fucking skirt. She's the same maniacal, fucking, egotistical liar that is Donald Trump and every other sis man inside of that fucking party. Where are your notes, CNN? Oh, we believe that it's really

important to show both sides of someone's humanity. Well, you know, if a white person says black people don't deserve to live and are not real human beings, I guess we need to hold a whole entire panel about that, right. I guess we should sit down with the Nazi sympathizers and understand why they believe that Jewish people should be eradicated from the planet. We should do multiple segments on that. It's really important for the American people to get to

the cause of it. Again, this is what it means to be living and working and existing inside of a failed country. A failing country. America is failing. America is crumbling. Democracy in this country and around the world are crumbling. We're never going to stop fighting tooth and nail for

it because they're never going to give up. We're always going to be one election away from pure authoritarianism because until we have a justice department that has teeth and backbones and is actually wielding its power to eradicate criminality, white supremacy, fascism, and authoritarianism, and people attempting to overthrow out or government, both inside of government and outside, until you're gonna go after them with the same fucking gusto you would any brown person that attempted to fly a

plane into a fucking building, until you're gonna decide to go to war with that reality, We're always gonna be living on the brink, and think about what that anxiety, what that fear builds up in people. We are living inside of a country that we can't make an accidental U turn without getting shot. You can't go talk to your neighbor without getting shot. You can't have a car break down and wave help over without getting shot. You can't go to the grocery store, you can't go to

a place of prayer. You're lucky and rolling the dice if you send your kids to school and they come back not in a body bag. The proliferation of guns, the fueling of white supremacy and hatred, is our undoing. We don't need to look around and say, oh my god, maybe we'll go to war with Iran, maybe we'll go to war with North Korea. That's not the fucking war.

You need to be concerned with the war that is unfolding every single day being waged by red state governors, attacking our democracy, attacking bodily autonomy, attacking any civil liberties. And to boot, dear friends, this last session of the Supreme Court, where we have a fucking criminal ass Supreme Court justice that is just unchecked. He's going to get the decision to rid this country of affirmative action and equity, to finally give the last death knull to voting rights

in this country. America is fundamentally being reshaped at the hands of a few racist, greedy, disgusting, immoral, ultra rich people and their friends. The only thing that I can say is that sometimes, and I said this on Mary Trump's show yesterday, sometimes you have to lose everything in order to really recognize your own power and your ability to rebuild. But everything that we have ever known true about America, about democracy, about liberty, about freedom is being

laid bare. You know. I was thinking to myself the other day, I'm like, nam, has America always been like this? And I was just looking at it through these rose colored glasses, believing that we had made substantial amount of progress and that we were in a better place than

we were some fifty sixty years ago. Like have I been kidding myself all the years that I've spent working in government, working for government, being in public service, working on policy and legislation to open up and expand equity and opportunities to everyone that is not white and sis

and straight and quote unquote Christian. Because from the vantage point that I have now, I'm like, if I knew then, right when I was making the decision as a young person to major in political science, to want to be a public servant, to want to do good, if I knew then what I know now, trust and believe, I would not have gone into politics. I really would not have.

I would have gone into a field that would have been a hell of a lot more lucrative, and then turn myself into a philanthropist at some point in time. Because cash rules everything, we have, probably the next five to ten years, there will absolutely be no middle class.

I don't even know what you would constitute, honestly in this country as middle class right now, because when a majority of people will struggle to pay a four or five hundred dollars bill that comes out of nowhere where if any of us were to fall ill, right seriously ill, and insurance only decides that it's going to cover a portion of that. Most people in this country are bankrupted by those types ofies. So what does it truly mean

to be middle class and comfortable? Now? You have multi billionaires, multimillionaires living at a time when people are actually taking helicopter ubers that go for like six thousand dollars a pop. And there are people a majority ninety nine percent that can't pay a surprise bill that comes to and we think that this is what a civilized country looks like. You have tech overlords that are creating artificial intelligence that will readily wipe out low wage jobs first and then

come for everything else after. Like we are setting up and signing away every bit of free them all because they have us worshiping at the throne and at the

feet of the mighty dollar. People voting against consistently their own best interests at the thought that maybe one day what they'll win the lottery we're not even paying attention to, like all of the white men working behind the curtain, the puppeteers, the ones that are choosing Supreme Court justices, the ones that are moving people's lives around on a board that they get to play at, and we're just pawns when you think about all of the layers behind

the layers, like people were obsessed with the show's succession because you think that you're getting like this window into this crazy world and always in this writing so crazy and aren't these people so depraved? That might as well have been a documentary. I had stop watching the show because I was so disgusted, because I knew that there was really no line between reality and fiction. All you have to do is look at the way that the elon musts of the world move and act and speak,

because who's the fuck is gonna check them? They can literally buy and sell you. And do we have to collectively decide what kind of country? What kind of world do we want to live in? Do we want democracy in name only without any of the rights, any of the liberties, any of the freedom so that a one percent can remain at the top of the pyramid, or do we bring the whole fucking pyramid down? Because let me tell you, this shit ain't working. It ain't working.

And for those that say that it's working, check their bank accounts. That is it for me today, Dear friends on woke af as always, power to the people, and to all the people power get woke and stay woke as fuck.
