This DC Comics (Detective Comics comics?) spin off from the popular Batman franchise takes a dark and creepy look at the Dark Knight's most revered foe, The Joker with what can only be described as a genius performance by leading an Joaquin Phoenix.
Directed by Todd Phillips (The Hangover) and also starring Robert Deniro, Joker is a film that echoes the early work of his and Scorsese, not just because of the similarities between the films anti-hero, but also due to the setting in a Gotham not unlike Scorsese's New York City.
