Today is day 183 , my hiding place from Psalm chapter 32 , verse 7 , from the New Living Translation . For you are my hiding place . You protect me from trouble . You surround me with songs of victory . Do you remember playing hide and seek when you were a kid ? That thrill when you found the perfect spot , tucked away , safe and unseen .
There was comfort in knowing that you couldn't be found easily . A life today can make us long for a hiding place just like that , not from friends or family , but from stress and worry and fear . We often crave somewhere safe , a refuge from what overwhelms us . Thankfully , the Psalms point us directly to that safe place God himself .
Psalm 32 , 7 , beautifully tells that God isn't just near us in our trials . He is himself our hiding place . He isn't distant or unaware of what you're facing . Instead , he invites you into his protective presence , promising to shield you from trouble and surround you with the songs of victory . Now notice that it doesn't say you'll never face trouble .
Instead , it assures you that trouble never faces you alone . God's presence is both protective and restorative . When anxiety rises , god invites you into his peace . When life feels overwhelming , he invites you into his rest . When sadness takes hold , he sings comfort over your heart . Today , pause for just a moment and envision stepping into God's safe space .
Let your worries , fears and stresses fade away in his presence . Listen closely to his song , the anthem of victory that he sings over your life . Remember hiding in God isn't retreating from reality . It's renewing your strength that you can face , with courage and hope , the reality of today and every day .
Let him be your hiding place , and every day , let him be your hiding place . Pray with me , father . God , thank you for being my safe place . Help me to remember to run to you first when life overwhelms me . Quiet my anxious heart and remind me that in your presence I find true protection and peace .
