We’re wrapping up Courtney’s Batman journey as we head into the new year, with Christopher Nolan’s trilogy capper - 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises! Special guest Ryan Chollet joins us to unpack Nolan’s big ideas and themes that—sometimes sloppily—guide the arc of the film; we have summertime excitement about theaters; we are biased as to why TV is better than reading books; and we air out our mixed feelings towards this Bat-finale that manages to at least be a fitting coda to a massively influential and genre-defining series from a director with an unmistakable vision and voice.
