Well , because you know , we just happened to disclose on the last episode that we were going to have a betrothed episode for Valentine's Day , have a betrothed episode for valentine's day , and I just thought it would be really cool to give our listeners a little , you know , a little peep or a little glimpse into , uh , into the betrothed voice and everything .

The thing is , I was in college when Facebook started up and was like this big new thing , and so I was into Facebook and that that's it . That's my capacity . So I do Facebook and nothing else .

We thought it was the coolest shit ever .

Yeah , when I was in high school had my space and then , uh , I graduated high school in 04 , and that's when facebook came out . And so when I went into college , um , I got my first facebook account , because you could only get a facebook account with , oh yep with a college email .

Email yep yeah yeah , I remember that . See , like it was back when it first started . It was like oh , because we're all going to go our separate ways and if you're on Facebook , this way we can connect and stay up to date with each other and what's going on .

But then there was like what's entertaining or whatever , and I was was like , oh , there's a bunch of like runners that we do throughout the show and I was like , unfortunately , like my car was part , it was a runner , unfortunately , you know , like it was just an unfortunate thing I said you got your car back .

He's actually really good friends with a good friend of mine , oh really yeah . So yeah , I got , I got nothing on him . But I mean , if he wants to serve us a cease and desist or something like that , whatever , we would be honored .

I just feel like it'd be good publicity if we could put in the you know in the news like podcast is told to stop by tool man because of because of come on , guys jokes , or yeah , santa claus is one of his best things ever .

I like home improvement , but santa claus movie I watch it every year , every single year and that's actually the joke that we use , because , um , very first episode was Randy and Carlo and he took this picture and I think we showed it on Facebook or whatever , and the picture looked like Tim Allen's Santa Claus and that was like so that's where it all began ,

Weldon case . It was a local case , and so I used Western Mass' audio from one of their stories that I grabbed from online . I also used a bunch of other ones , but we haven't got any cease and desist from them , Knock on wood .

We took it down and and and that's that wow and see , that would suck for us because , like I said , you know , we're just one take , we just go .

How do you even found that like ?

so we we post them on different local forums like , hey , take a listen to our episode , and I think it just went through the right channels and they ended up finding us not in a good way , obviously , yeah , someone someone at western mass news probably listened to it and you know what I probably put it in the source notes um , in the show notes as a source .

I mean , we don't want to steal people's stuff , so right right yeah , so that was the last time we ever used audio from the news .

Yeah , Wow , yeah . But to say how we started it really was you know , me and my friend Jess , we would meet for coffee and we would go to Barnes Noble and we'd talk about different true crime documentaries we were watching or different books we were reading and we're like , hey , why don't we make this a podcast , Like that'd be really fun .

WNRC Nichols College Radio . Yeah , so they approached me and I said , absolutely . And I reached out to a couple of friends and I said , hey , we're thinking about doing this , what kind of equipment should I look into ? And they sent me one of our friends , eric , to .

Yeah , so the patrol right now she has a sure I have a um , I don't know what the hell it is . It's just like you know , stuff we picked up because you know it was quick , we had to .

So you know , we did that minnesota , minnesota , ha the minnesota minnesota yes we did the minnesota in uh , in madison , and yeah , like I said , just boom , just put it right on the table and plug everything in and then it just go yeah , that's what's good about this and , uh , you know , when we recording , I mean it looks like a studio in here but everything

I obviously you know the idea for for this is to get bigger and better , like every you know , every day , every week , every show , um , you know , better equipment , eventually a a cool spot to record . Uh , right now , me and the betrothed . They're sitting in the in the dining room of casa de betrothed and uh and doing the uh , doing the thing right here .

So much of your , your heart and your soul into what you're talking about and it's like why aren't more people feeling what I'm feeling ?

well , you know , I have some really good people . You know obviously that um that are along the ride here . Uh , bw obviously is one of them , right ?

oh yeah yeah . I , I'm , I'm a good person . Is that what you're saying ?

It's no different than you know , playing a villain and a hero on on screen , right like obviously you , anybody who's anybody has seen Die Hard absolutely one of the best Christmas movies ever Christmas movie here we go , we're going to get into this don't have time for that .

So why'd you have to make me the bad guy ? Couldn't we have ? Been like couldn't we have been die hard with a vengeance , and one person is Bruce Willis and the other is Samuel L Jackson well , you wear , you do wear the hat .

I feel like that's kind of a similar situation where those are two people who normally would not have associated with each other , would not have worked together at all , but then they're forced to work together , whether they like it or not ?

I melissa , I forget we can say her name now , yeah go , you can tell it . Well , DW and I work together and I've been with that group almost five years now . So it was right before COVID hit and we had just started talking and he'd come on over to my cube and we'd make a little laugh . And then we didn't see each other for two years .

It was actually we first met , oh it's like a love story we first , we're not , we're not a couple , we're not a couple .

Guys , guys , we're not a couple we have to say that every episode leaves the chat so um it was , it was house of comedy . No , it was not house of comedy .

I think you had my laptop , like they delivered it to you because you were working in the office and I'm still working from home and I brought him in and you guys met , wearing masks , standing around , social distancing , and that was the first time and then eventually , like as restrictions , um , lightened up a little bit .

it was the House of Comedy the funniest person with a day job yeah , I think it was , wasn't it just ?

So then john was like I have this idea for a podcast , um , with comedians and we talk about scary places . And I was like that's a stupid idea , that's not gonna work .

It was the first time like anyone had ever convinced me , because up until then it was like I saw a shadow and I'm like , did you really ? I you know I can't say that , but then when she was talking and she said stuff that I I think it was the fact that it wasn't just one lucky guess , it was like several things in a row .

so that's kind of where I want to go into . I want to know about the ghost hunting I I'm so fascinated like , was there an evp that you got ? They were like , oh my god , that was definitely someone from the other side are you talking about me like ?

yeah like dw's never really been into it , but me personally yeah yeah , you , yeah I have , um , oh , there's a lot I had , I okay .

Yeah , I mean you really should come out to the east . I don't know if you have , but Massachusetts has some of the best haunted locations .

In the world Honestly like it would . It would be a great location for you guys to come out .

We love cemeteries , old cemeteries , a good cemetery .

Really cool headstones and things like that . With her . She's like oh , I love cemeteries . I'm like I like cemeteries too . They're literally the most peaceful place on the planet .

We have some really old cemeteries out here . You know , being in massachusetts that would .

like yeah , that's and maybe how they died , right right well , and we had um , we had an episode a while ago that we were talking about , like there was a cemetery that got moved or something like that .

sam adams or oh , there's several there . Uh , I think benjamin franklin's in there , yeah , so that there's um well , I know , when I went to rhode island , hp lovecraft is there , I don't know . That's a pretty cool one . I went to lizzie borden , or lizbeth , she's a great one too yeah , so we got .

We got a lot uh of good old uh cemeteries here in the northeast , you know , in new england also the first known vampire in rhode island .

She's also buried here , so I saw her .

She was great like she's wandering around or what like . What do you ?

mean . So I saw . I saw her grave . They thought she was the first vampire .

But did she have a cage over it like that stereotypical , like we'll stop this ?

no , so usually the cages they put over witches . So she did not have a cage . What ? Well , poor thing , what her issue was , she had consumption , or is nowadays tuberculosis , right , and so it was cold out while she died .

Yeah , google machine , that's , that's our , that's our friend . We do that a lot , most definitely . So what made you guys get into ? We're kind of bouncing all over , and this is the cool thing about .

So that's definitely twofold . So I will say , my best story that I've covered so far would definitely be why am I blanking on his name right now ? Oh my , oh , my God , I'm a terrible person . Hold on .

So I work for a school system for a living , so I've been on vacation the last like two and a half months , so I'm gonna blame it on that , but anyway . So danny croto , which is actually a local case and I wasn't gonna cover it , but but my family , unfortunately .

Wow , okay , wait , interrupt me . So Danny Crowder was a local case and I wasn't going to cover it , but it's unfortunately tied in with my family . And it was this child he was around 11 , 12 years old was actually raped and killed by a priest .

So oh , wow , yeah , and I I I am sorry I'm stumbling over my words Um , occasionally I'll reshare that with , uh , all the local Facebook forms and it will bring in , you know , an additional like 20 , 30 listens and stuff like that . Um , so that , yeah , that's , that was one of my , my favorite ones that we could cover and we did two episodes .

My mom came in for that one too . Um , but a case that I want to cover , that I'm hesitant to cover but I want to cover cause I feel like it's overdone is Ted Bundy . Everyone knows who .

And to have your own spin on things . I think that's important . You're not just talking out information that everyone knows . You need to have your own spin on it . But since you talked about the Amityville house , I'm thinking about about the conjuring house and all the drama that's been happening with that . Have you guys been keeping up with that ?

so apparently I don't know if this is what is going up , but , um , maybe like charging people too much money to to go there or not giving refunds or something with that . I'm not 100 sure what it is , but there's a lot of like people that are real high in the paranormal field .

They're like boycott it , like boycott the place , don't go there anymore so apparently she like , like , she , um , she fired a bunch of people that have been there for years yeah , she's like the ghost told me you stole from me and he's like what the fuck are you talking about ?

Yeah , so that's . The ghosts were the ones that were telling her what to do .

I mean I don't want to downplay the ghost Right , but that is interesting .

You know it's not like the movie . I don't think it's with bathsheba or whatever that . You know that was in there . I don't think that's exactly what . What that is , I I know for a fact . I you know bathsheba had nothing to do with the conjuring house um you know . But yeah , you have to sell tickets if you're hollywood , you .

So so I know you guys are asking the questions , but I have a question for you guys go ahead , all right so is there a recent horror movie that you've watched , that you've really liked ?

last horror movie I saw was psycho so um wow , around the time my uh beastie boys cd came in the mail , so neither of you guys saw long legs , the recent one , recent one , I haven't seen Long Legs yet .

No , my son wants to see it really bad . He's 16 . He wants to see it really bad . He was really looking into it . He wants to be a filmmaker . Oh , that's cool . Yeah , so he kind of really dives deep into the films and everything the story behind them . Yeah , yeah , I haven the films and everything the story behind them and yeah , yeah .

I can handle the paranormal . I just don't like seeing people get hacked . Usually it's animals .

for me , if a dog doesn't get hurt , I'm usually good . I don't like to see animals get hurt .

Kind of the same thing with my wife . We went to see a movie a while ago and they had a preview for Speak no Evil and she had to turn away just for the preview . Like she put her hand up and she was like tell me when it's done . Like she couldn't , she couldn't even watch that .
