Wind Down with Michael Coffin and I'm her radio podcast New Year Knew You so excited. I saw a gift um that's been going around social media and it was like, alright, nobody claimed one as your year. Just walking really slow, don't touch anything, no sudden movements, no sudden movements. Um. But I feel like, I mean, it's it's you know, it's it's not like a snap of finger. Oh yeah, everything's great again and we don't have to wear masks

and there's an coronavirus. Like obviously this year is still going to the start, is still going to have some looming effects of but I feel like if you change your perspective and focus on you, then maybe you won't focus on all the negativity. So that's why I still I'm like such the big promoter of like New Year Knew You? How are you gonna, like, what are you going to change from last year to make yourself better? And you know, what do you want to change so

that you can be a better person? You can be a better what like just like love yourself more and not be as negative or not have so much anxiety. So I I love that aspect of a New Year because I'm like that I'm not the person at the gym like day one of January, because I know that's like when the gym's like go crazy. But I also think there's something to that where it's like you should be excited the fact that you can start a new year and have new outlooks and new resolutions, which I

do it a little differently. I do like a resolution a month as opposed to like one big thing, because I feel like that can be so hard. But I don't know what are your thoughts. You know, I'm starting to change my tune a little bit in the sense of, I know, like a couple of weeks ago, I was on here saying that people might have these super high expectations of because twenty was the way that it was.

But now, as you know it is, I think I'm changing my tune the fact that maybe people aren't having super high expectations and are just kind of tiptoeing into this year being like, Okay, let's just see what happens. And it's almost like when you you watch a movie right and you have no expectation of it or a low expectation, and it blows you away, like this is the best movie ever, or if you go into a movie and you think it's gonna be the best thing

and you're like kind of fell flat. I'm starting to think and I'm feeling that way where I'm kind of going into this year where it's like, all right, I don't have these super high expectations of it being like the best year yet, but I'm gonna see what happens and it'll probably turn out to be a great year. I totally hear you. But at the same time, it's like even last year, I like is gonna be amazing year? It was still an amazing There was still some amazing

things that happened. I mean, we became New York best time sellers, are relationship grew, you know, are we got to spend a lot of time with the kids. Like I feel like it was there are so many things that you can still look to the positive and maybe some of our dreams didn't happen, where some of the things we wanted to do, But then it's like, but we did this and we did that, and it's like

how cool, you know, I don't know. So that's why I'm like, it almost makes me sad that like people that go into it with that expectation, because it's like there, we're gonna have failure in one. You will never have a perfect it's not going to be the perfect year. That makes sense, no, I know. And what I'm saying is because in the past, the general census is to get over zealous and over excited about the new year and making all these changes, and again you're maybe out

doing yourself from a from a goal expectation standpoint. All I'm saying is just maybe now it's a little bit more realistic where you can just Okay, I'm just gonna keep chip in a way and and good things can happen if I just keep my head down and and not just put all of these eggs into this one basket of the year one and it be blowing me away.

We had a lot of great things happen in and I'm sure we'll have a lot of great things that happened in I'm just saying I'm not putting any more weight into this year than I would any other year just because we're coming off a pandemic. Yeah, I mean that makes sense. I mean I know there's still things that like, you know, we still can't tour and we can't. You know, I can't go play music, and there's certain

you know, movie gigs that you know I can't. It's just like there's so many things, but I don't know. I feel like I have to focus on, Okay, well what can I do then that because we're not touring, like what where can we provide? Where can we grow? Where can we And I think it's like almost just like changing your mindset and not letting like oh now I still can't do this, like how can we how can we expand and grow as humans and and work?

And um, I know for me, like I'm excited to just continue, like I want to start to you know, be more not proud of myself, but like, you know, there's some certain things that I've been wanting to do this year that I'm like, all right, I'm or that I've been wanting to do that I think I'm gonna do this year because I'm like I want this year to be my year. And I know that might sound selfish,

but like I wanna I'm like good boobs. I don't know, like I've been like I got the mom boobs and like maybe I want to prick those bad boys up I'm not sure. It's just like certain things are like I don't know, maybe I'll like go to a retreat and you know, do something that can like push me more mentally or I don't know. I just think there's things that you can do that you can focus on you as well. Which I'm super pumped because we have josh Ax coming on Doctor and he's got a whole

new outlook and I don't told him outlook. I mean, he's written four books of you know, The keyto diet Um, Eat dirt Um, a few others, and he's got a new one coming out that I've been just deep diving in all about like ancient healing and things that you can take for your body. And I mean, I'm I'm just I'm pumped to talk to him because there's so many things that I'm like, I'm just starting to get

on that. Like now I've been taking these different supplements since COVID, so I'm like, okay, because I think I might be overdoing the elderberry. I've been taking a little one too many trips to the bathroom, so I might say the same thing. So I'm like, i gotta see if there's like a cut off on that, um, because I'm so new to trusting those things, so I'm excited

to talk to an actual expert. Yeah, And it's always tough to decipher through that stuff, right because there's so many different outlooks and opinions and um, you know, research done on on on so much around the health topic. That is just finding what works for you and being able to be in tune with your body enough to determine whether it's helping or not. Like there's this one thing that I've been trying, this CB d um. It's from this one brand called Equilibria and um like facial products.

But I've never smoked weed before. I've never done a drug and um, I remember like when CBD came out, I was like, so when someone gave me a face losh, like, am I going to get high if I put this on my face? Like like I genuinely I'm like, oh, I can't do that. It has weed in it? Like, but again I didn't. I had to do my research

of like CBD. But I feel like there's so many new things that are coming, you know with an ancient remedies, and cannabis is one of them, especially for face and wrinkles, and I'm like, okay, but I remember taking it and I'm like, am I dizzy? Am I high? I'm like I'm right now, Like should I be eating this entire bag of chips right now? But it's just it's interesting, just because there are so many new things out there, and but I'm intrigued. I'm so treat. Yeah, we're gonna

have a good conversation with them. So we're gonna take a break. We're gonna come back with an interesting story that I heard recently that I want to share with the crew here, and then we'll get Dr Josh excellent. So let's take a break. So I was listening to Bobby Bones the other morning and they started talking about the story that they read about um where this I think it was a girlfriend or whatever had her boyfriend's phone and was listening to music and she saw that

he had Tinder on his phone. Okay, so she immuteately like it was like, what the F is going on? How long have it been dating for? Uh? I believe that's total context too A good while, Like they yeah, it's not like a new thing, like they've been together significant amount of time. They might even be No, they weren't married their boyfriend girlfriend, But so she has his phone, sees the Tinder and then opens it and it's all guys and she's like what. So she brings it to

his attention. She's like, hey, you know, I saw that you have Tinder, Like why do you have this? He's like what, Like, I made a fake account as a girl, Like I'm I'm just following guy. She's like, well, why are you doing that. His reasoning was because of the pandemic, he usually has a buzz cut, but his hair has been growing out, so he said, I don't know. I wanted to see what kind of haircuts there are out there.

That was his reasoning, And she said why not just google men's haircuts and he goes, well, those are all like male models. I just wanted to see like an average person like me with a haircut. So I set up an account as a fake woman and I use it just to swipe to see haircuts. And so listen to Bobby Bones and the whole crew discuss this on whether or not to believe him or not. It was very interesting. So I want to get y'all's take. I'll let you lead with this mark. Since you're a man.

I don't know that I have a typical man. This is not something I would ever think about. I think it's shady. I think you probably should not have a dating app on your phone for under any circumstances. There's got to be a better way to find men's haircuts. But then when you describe, and I'm like, it's a pretty good way to get a random sample of dude's

haircuts out there. Yeah, but there's Instagram. That's where I kind of get yeah, well that's that's what they said to and but and I'm even thinking, I'm like, what about Pinterest? Like the pictures probably be your best bet, because even on Instagram, you what can you I don't know. On Instagram, can you search men's haircuts? Um, I don't know.

Let me go right now and see. But even that to his defense, like he probably don't want to see male models like in these like perfect picture haircuts our dudes Unpinterest, Um no, I mean not really men's haircuts. So if you go hashtag men's haircuts, there's foot thousand posts. Oh there's some there's some good haircuts on there. Still probably not a random sample though those are being posted as men's haircuts, a lot of models and a lot of haircuts. There are a lot of word designs too,

So I don't know. Maybe so it just had me chocolate because it's very interesting. And I think it all depended on his reaction to things, right, if she brought up to him and he was just super just like not a care in the world, just like, yeah, I just I wanted to see men's haircuts. I'm sorry, you know, my bad. She's like, well, do that make me feel comfortable? I want to delete it? Okay? Cool? Like, and then there's a deeper though. Is he interacting with anybody? There

were no messages, There were no messages between anybody. There's no matches, there is no nothing. That's just weird. That just seems like you're really stretching to find something that I mean, yeah, that just seems a little Now. The best part he was bald. Couldn't the guy also use that as an excuse if he was on there looking at women, it's saying, oh, I just wanted to see what kind of outfits women are wearing, so I know

what to get you for your birthday. Couldn't he make the same argument, and then we actually, you know, swiping with other women. He could, but I think the issue is because he's a woman signed up to see men. It's almost sounds like, you know that he's got a thing for men and he doesn't want to be on Grinder because if you downloaded Grinder, well then that's like that's for sure. That's for sure. So it's like Tinder was this safer wind down, real important topics in it

was just interesting. It just was just like that is I've never heard that before. So to each their own. But I mean, you know, we'll see what happens. I'll have to follow up on Bobby Bones show to see if they ever got to answer to that story text Bobby and see. Look, we had some really gripping conversation on our first episode back about the Tinder dude. Wow. Well on that note, um, we'll be back and get Mr josh As Doctor josh As on the show. Hi, Dr josh As, Hey, how's it going good? How are

you good? Good to see you guys. Are you guys in La or Nashville? Right now? Where in Nashville? Where are you? I'm actually floured down in seaside watercolor. Oh pretty, that's where everyone in Nashville goes down to that Rosemary waterside. It's beautiful. Yeah, we're down here pretty frequently. Yeah, it's a good place to get away and recharge. Okay, well

that's awesome. I'm glad you're here. So now I'm going to force you to come over because I I don't think I'm gonna be able to answer or have you answer all my questions because I'm just like, I'm deep diving in your book. Um, everyone can pre order right now on Amazon. It's called Ancient Remedies. Okay, So a few things first, I just have to go down a list of things that I've just started taking. Um, I'm going to butcher the name of it. But c certon? Is that it? How you say it? Corset in? Okay?

So I was told that it was really a powerful Is it a plant? What the heck is it? What am I taking? Well? Of course at in it's would be more of a compound. It's a compound that is found in onions and citrus fruits. It's really good for allergies, good for inflammation. Um, but yeah, it's typically it's taken with for different types of sensitivities. It's second for numerous things,

but allergies is the most common. Okay, Well, now I have another question that even goes with that, because okay, so I've I've been told that it really helps with you know, helping the immunity. So I've been taking to a day, but I'm not supposed to be having onions because I took a Pinner test and it said that my body is in flame to onions. So now should I stop taking that? No? Of course it's most in supplements. They are a most always taken from citrus fruits, so

typically lemons and grapefruit. So you're I think you're probably good. So do you believe in the Pinner test? Do I believe in it? I would say I believe that, Um, there's semi accurate. So you know, I think your body can have responses to different things. Um, and it's not always. Uh. So you have two things. You have food sensitivities and you have food intolerances more and one's an I g G test, which is like, if you imagine an allergic someone having a severe allergic reaction, that tends to be

an i g G. That's an allergy. I g G is like, Hey, I'm gluten intolerant. I'm daily intolerant. A few days later, you eat something, you know, my stomachs off, or hey, my nose is running, or I'm getting like it's it's causing more of that issue. So pen Or tests more food allergy. I do think it is fairly accurate. Um, it's not a actor. I think if some if some people eat a lot of certain foods, their body still might respond a little bit more. But it's not necessarily

a full an allergy. So I think it's fairly accurate. But I don't think it's a d percent full proof because I took it a few months ago and you know, one of the main things on there was like cow's milk, and you know, I love cheeste so I've been trying to like eat vegan cheese and it's just it's not the same. A hard time with it, but I'm I'm I want to do it for a month because it's tomatoes, onions and cow's milk, So I'm for the month of January, I'm gonna take all of that away. But it's I

started to try, but it's hard to do that. But I want to see if I find notice any difference in like inflammation or you know, bloat or anything like that. But UM, with when it comes to the ancient remedies, because I'm obviously I've started to deep dive your book and I've already started screen shotting the things that I'm like, Oh, man, I gotta try this for this um anxiety. I've been on medicine for twenty plus years and I feel like I've tried everything. But I also didn't try you know, um,

the ancient remedies. Um, I think you know, I think I tried was that the ward St. John's Ward or something. Yeah, so I tried that years and years and years ago. My therapist told me to give that a try, and UM, a few other things. But I'm curious I didn't. I don't. I don't think I've gotten to the place yet is do you have something that could help me maybe ween off of medicine and and do you even believe that

some people might need medication and ancient remedies wouldn't cure everything? Yeah, so so a lot of this, So you know, let let me go and dive in here. So one of the things we cover in the book, and this form of medicine is over three thousand years old. It's called t CM. Traditional Chinese medicine and the forms of medicine that I study. I study a lot of traditional Chinese medicine.

I are Vada, Biblical meda send those practiced by my monites, great so medicine that's been around for a long time, that's based more on individual case studies. One of the things they looked at and the reason why we call holistic medicine today, holistic medicine really looks at the whole person, body, mind, and spirit. One of the things we know as a fact is different emotions affect different organ systems and cause

different diseases. For instance, why does somebody who's not well get breast cancer versus somebody gets lung cancer versus somebody gets colon cancer. Why does somebody get out of immune disease and somebody gets hypothyroidism. Why would somebody get breast cancer on the left breast and not the right, the right, not the left. None of that is genetic. All of

it is due to the emotions you experience. And we all know this to be true once I go through this, and so if somebody has I'll give you an example, if if if a child has a really bad dream, they can wet the bed. Why because they have the emotion of fear. Fear causes dysfunction of the kidneys and the bladder and those organ systems. We know, if you get really ressed out, they say, your body gets in a fight or fight state your adrenals. That affects the

adrenal gland. Your adren will start kicking out adrenaline and cortisol in those stress hormones. So if somebody has a lot of worry, you'd say, oh, my stomach is tied and nuts. It almost kind of get bent over they want to because we know the emotion of worry affects the upper digestive system. Anger, resentment, frustration, that affects the liver. Why do we call somebody an angry drunk while alcohol also affects the liver creates anger. So that organ system, liver,

gallbladder is all about that emotion. Anxiety is all about the heart, Okay, it's it's that organ system, the heart, the small intestine. So it's your whole cardiovascular system grief or your whole immune system, which is your lungs and colon. That's related to the emotion of grief or depression or a sense of loss. You've had something had happened in

your past. Maybe it's a form of abuse, physical, sexual, could be anything, and you haven't forgiven or haven't be able to let go of that thing, and you're still thing in the past. You haven't let it go. That shuts down the immune system. And so all that being said, to get to the root cause of any health problem, you have to address the emotions, and you have to address the diet and the lifestyle. So for instance, and I can tell one of the things I have in

the book is that there's a quiz. It's really a form of personalized medicine. It's called five Elements, and in Chinese medicine people kind of fell into one of five groups. So it's kind of like an angiogram test, right have you ever taken aniogram? Or a disc profile of Myers Griggs. These things are incredibly accurate at determining what your tendencies

are in your personality type. Well, Chinese medicine did this about and in i or Veda actually they have something called the docies, but they did this over three thousand years ago, and they also determine how that actually affects your health. So Janna I can tell by your facial features and your personality type that you're a fire element in Chinese medicine, which means you tend to be your passionate person very passionate. You can get fired up, you

can be you know, my heat. I might appreciate this, but you could be like if you get really out of balance, not when you're in state, like a really healthy state, but if you get really out of balance sometimes because somebody could say you're dramatic, possibly, But all that being said, like fire elements, you know, you can tell why they're face or facial features, your your skin tone is a little bit more of that darker it could have read tongue like, it's a little bit more anyways,

even the way you're built, okay, Um, So that being said, fire elements deal with heart issues, and the number one emotion they deal with is anxiety. Okay, it's all like an emotional nervousness. It's a thinking more like an anxiety attack. That's that's all fire element. So that being said, now

that's the way you're gonna be wired. Like I'm a what element, which essentially means my stress goes to my liver, gall bladder, okay, And so if I have health issues in the future, it's going to be liver gall bladder issues. So for you, so knowing it's anxiety. Anxiety tends to be a an issue. And this is more biblical medicine, but more related to identity, really really continuing to know who you are. So and by the way, you know, I don't know. I don't know a lot about you.

I know, my wife told me before our interview, I hope you either think events of this. But all you know, Chelsea, um, she's like, oh I love her. She wasn't you know. I watched every episode of One Tree hell and I watched the season like when she was watching it again, this is this is like when we first got here, this a little while ago. But anyways, and I had heard your music. It's fantastic, you know, I love it. In fact, I think we have one of your Christmas

songs on, you know, just just last week. So all that being yeah, so anyways, but that being said, um, so I don't know a lot about you. But identity is really all about two things. It's your sense of security in your self worth. Okay, That's what identity is about. And I'm not trying to make this this like I'm just talking about this is ancient medicine. Like you gotta

treat the whole person. So that being said, like if you want to overcome anxiety, the real route is really continuing to know who's your identity in terms of like I don't again, I don't know anything about your parents, but that obviously has a lot to do with it. And do you see God in the same way, so how you know what is your identity as a child of God? Like, so continuing to build your foundation and knowing your identity as a daughter of God. You're a queen,

what does that mean for you? And how you serve and love all those things, so you have a sense of your sense of identity, and that is security, being secure in you know, feeling safe and that you know in your relationships and those things, and also your your self value, like your value have to people into the planet, in the world and all those things. So I'm not trying to read your mail. I'm just telling you, like that's that is the way that an ancient doctor would say, Hey,

your prescription for anxiety is number one. We're gonna work on this issue. Number two. Let's work on diet. So diet for you is gonna be all about foods that are typically the color red and brown and really dark nutrient dense food. So it's gonna be green, leafy vegetables. It's gonna be beats. So I just started eating beats, and this is like in the last four, no, no, two months, it's been like I used to hate beats and now I'm obsessed. Like just like that. Boom, Are

you a coffee drinker? No, I stopped coffee years. Um. But all that being said, there you go. Red wine is actually a food of of the it's red. It's the food of the or the beverage of the fire element in Chinese medicine. So um. So all that being said, you want to consume foods. Grass fed beef is gonna be good for you, to beef, bone, broth, all those things. So, but a lot of green leafy vestables, berries again, like raspberries, blueberries. So you want to eat the food and then as

a supplement, you know, treating the heart. Um, oh gosh, there's a lot of things. Green tea like macho would be very good if you do need energy, but typically fire elements need more ca me. Um. And so CBD would be very good in that case came mel in the evenings. But the thing you've got to be conscious, so like the fire element, you need a healthy doset, like you need deep intimate relationships like that will drive you.

That is like my medicine and I know that what it is, and it's like and when he gives that to me, I'm like happy as as a clamp. But it's like when he doesn't, I'm like, you know what, I'm like, what my medicine is, Yeah, you're not giving

it to me. And so you've got to be conscious of who you're spending like who else is in your life, like spending time with your you know, with your husband here, like and having creating an environment where you guys are connecting in a deep way, but also the other people in your life, Like you've got to be really conscious of being around dramatic people that are unhealthy dramatic, because

they will pull you into that state of versus. You need to be around people that are really like calming souls and spirits, people that are kind of like, you know, just bringing balance to you, because you should be when you're in the room, you should be the person sort of firing people up, where other people are kind of like you're getting people fired up at the same time they're like keeping you ballance. Anyways, that's it. I'm going to continue on my beats, dr acts. Where did all

this come from for you? Like, at what point during your medical career did you decide to kind of go more in the Eastern direction as opposed to modern or western medicine. Yeah, so for me, it was really early. I'll just share this, uh, this this thing quickly. So I um, growing up, my family lived in that conventional medical model. So anytime we were sick, we went to our you know, a physician, we got prescribed drugs. So like when I was a kid, I took antibiotics all

the time because we didn't know there was a natural way. Well, when my mom turned forty one years old, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, which was kind of crazy for our family because if you would have looked at my mom, you would have thought that's a fit woman, Like she was a swim instructor, she was my gym teacher in elementary school. She was really it, but had this cancer diagnosis and she went through all the conventional medical treatment.

She went and had a mssectomy. She went through rounds and rounds and rounds of chemotherapy, and I can still remember this day. I remember her taking a comb through her hair and all of her hair falling out. I remember looking at her and thinking she had aged twenty years and two weeks and just saying to myself, I never want to see anyone go through this again. And I also thought to myself though too, this is I

was like fourteen years old. I remember thinking there's got to be a better way for somebody to supposedly get healthy when my mom went through these treatments, and praise God, she was diagnosed as being cancer free and healthy. But the crazy thing was, after all these treatments, she really seemed like she had more health problems than ever before. My mom got put on and ann anxiety drug and

an oppressant drugs um. She was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, chronic fatigue, and a big part of my memory of my mom growing about a great mom, but she was sick and tired all the time. And this went on for thirteen fourteen years, And at that point, I was actually studying to become a doctor, was really studying functional medicine and um and part of it, the big reason was it's like I want to help my mom, you know, like

I want to see her get well. And right before this is months before I went and opened my own clinic in Nashville, before I moved to Nashville, I got a call from my mom and tears on the phone, and she said, I've got bad news. I've just been diagnosed with cancer again. It's on my lungs. What should I do? And I flew from Florida back to Ohio where I grew up. We sat down, we prayed together, and we felt really led to take care of her

all naturally. And we had the doctors at the time, we're oncologists in Columbus, Ohio, saying, hey, we really think we need to do radiation. They said, but hey, if you want to take three months and try this thing, go ahead, but we need to see you again about three to four months. So we decided to take do this natural protocol. And I did thousands of hours of research as well, looking at what are ancient remedies and diets for cancer and talking to doctors all around the country.

So I put together program for her. She started juicing vegetables every single day, drinking some bone broth using uh tumeric and a stragg list, and in mushrooms like Rieshie mushroom.

And also we really worked on doing stress. My mom had a lot of fear and worry in her life, so we recorded her saying Bible verses and actually sang out loud her future and visualizing herself bringing her kids to Disney World when she was in her eighties and all this stuff, and so at the time it was a cassette tape and she just listened to it every morning, which she woke up every night before bed. And we

followed this really holistic program for four months. She went back to her oncologist read it a CT scan technically a PET scan. This was four months later, and the ecologist called the next day and her exact words were, this is highly unusual. We don't typically see this, but your tumors are shrunk by more than half. They said. The largest humor was two and a half centimeters. It's now down to one point too. They said, we want

to see you again nine months. She went back nine months later and then complete remission and today this has been about fourteen years or so since then, and my mom's in the best ship of her life. She's in her late sixties and she water skis, runs five k is. Uh, you know, just actually feels better now her sixties or thirties. So anyways, all that being said, that led me to open a functional madicone clinic in Nashville. I no longer

operate that. I operated that about five years and then I really started focusing on educating, you know, online and that sort of thing. But um, that's really what kind of brought me into this, uh, you know, into teaching more of this sort of you know, functional and ancient medicine. That's fascinating. I mean I can't imagine something that personal. Of course, that would steer your life, you know, in the way that it has, And that's you know, I

would like to think I would. I would approach it that way too if something like that unfortunately happened, you know, yeah, like what what how he went into it? No, like if I was in his mom's position, or but shouldn't we be doing those things now before we get into

that position? Yeah? Well I think so, I mean that's a thing like, oh yeah, for sure, But yeah, I think if somebody looks at my diet and the way that our family it's you would it would be the diet that you would use, you know what, I would say. The other thing, it's very very healthy, you know, it would be it's a diet not to get these things. So so absolutely, so what is the diet not to get those things? Like? What? What? Like? What's the what's

the medicine the healthy way? Yes, I'm gonna give you two answers. Um One is it depends on the person, because here's the thing, there's no one perfect diet for in everybody. Everybody is a unique individual. Where one person may do great on coffee, another person it is terrible for them. Some people do great on raw vegetables. For somebody with irritable bow syndrome and digestive issues, raw vegetables are one of the worst things they can eat. Actually,

So I think it really depends. I One of the things I'm excited to see in the future is we're going to move more into both major medical and and more natural medicine. We're going to continue to move more into what the ancients did and it's more personalized us and that's where things need to move. So my first answer is you know, for instance, like your diet is being more of this fire element in your body, Like, for instance, fire elements need to be really careful with

over consuming carbohydrates. You'll do well with a lot of good healthy fats um versus someone who's wired like me will have a harder time doing like a higher fat. But so anyways, there's a little bit of a difference. But generally speaking, most people do well with a lot of vegetables and a moderate amount of organic meat, and then some things like you know, nutrient dense fruits and you know, slow cooked you know, grains and that sort

of thing sort of sprinkled in. But I think the big thing is eat real food and make a big part of your plate vegetables, you know, I think is generally good for most people, or if somebody wants to most people have seen reverse immune disease and that sort of thing. Their diet has been primarily vegetables and wild, organic healthy meat. Do you guys have kids? We do. We have. Actually we just had our first not too long ago. She's about almost nine months old. Now, congratulations,

thank you have you and your wife? Like, is that something I mean, I'm sure? I mean, you guys eat the way you eat, and we're the same way, like we eat the way we eat in our kids are along for the ride with that, you know, we don't now a little bit more. We cook them something separate than what we have, but as they get older, we'll continue just to give them whatever we eat, which is

typically healthy. But with that mindset that you guys have in raising a kid, have you guys talked about things down the road with with you know, with your child on kind of whether it diet or you know, medical issues or you know, doctor consultations or whatever that is. Yeah, So so I'm wired as a very uh strategic planner. Like I I am sort of obseted about goal setting

and having a plan. And that's and I did that same thing with my patients when I had in my own mom It's like, hey, because here's what I found too. I think, you know, there's a there's a you know, the famous quote everybody's heard if you don't have a plan, you're planning to fail sort of thing. And so I'm

always very planned. Even when when my wife and I had our first date, um, you know, we kind of you know, asked every question you can imagine, you know, for in the course of four hours, like deep question of what is your belief about religion and politics and you know, all of those things. And so all that being said, I think I I knew her how I was marrying really, um you know, almost immediately. And that's one of the things actually attracted me about Chelsea. Actually

knew her cousin. He's an evangelist over Knoxville, Tennessee. An amazing just amazing guy. And and then um in any way, So but that being said, yeah, I think her and I are on the same page on Actually we were just out talking about should we have not done co sleeping, but we kind of talked about should we And there's a lot of all that being said. We we are, we're not, but some people do, and we think that's fantastic.

I think it depends on on the I think it depends on the kid, you know too, I think, but for us, we're on the same page and what we'll do for you know, our when as our daughter are when like we're on the same page of what we'll do for her health for the most part, and the other thing, you know, I think for Chelsea and I

like I trust my wife immensely. She has so much wisdom that I think if we do have an issue where maybe we have a slight disagreement on how to do things, I think her and I are both I think it's really important in relationships. We're both were mutually submissive. If Chelsea really feels strong about something, I'm like, hey, you know what, like you love our daughters so much like I'm like as a husband, I'm also called at times to hey, submit and and listen to the wisdom

of my wife, and Chelsea does the same. So I think that mutually submissive and respectful relationship allows us to, you know, figure things out there because we don't. I'm not gonna lie, we don't have everything figured out. But I do think we've had these conversations to know our of values, a line in our relationship with God and those things, to know where where we both wanna are willing to end up. I love that. Can we do some rapid fire with you? Just a few like miss stuff?

I just want to rapid fire? Okay, Um, juicing doesn't really work. Uh you know, I'm not trying to be politically correct, but for some people, for people with liver issues or need to cleanse. It's the best thing they could probably do for somebody with major digestive issues. It's not the best. Do you get the nutrients so from juicing? Because I was told that, Like my trainer got really mad at me for for juicing because she's like, all the nutrients are gone all. But I'm like, but it

says beats ginger, lemon, like you know apple. She's like, you're just getting the sugar from the apple, You're not getting the actual nutrients. Wrong. Okay, good, I'm going back to it. Um okay, apple sitter, apple cider, vinegar shots in the morning, work or not work. I know it's political body versus, but so I think for a lot of people it would do them good. Yes, work, it's so good. I love it. If there's one thing that

you're very passionate about. If someone is like, okay, I want to start doing this, but jumping completely all in is a little intimidating. So it's one thing that I could digest or take every single day that you would suggest for somebody new getting into somebody's looking to just make a big change with one single action, I would say, just change your breakfast. I mean, if somebody just changed

their breakfast. They're changing one third of their diet. As I've worked with thousands of patients over the years, I

can tell you this. There's something about when you eat a good like, hey, you start doing a super food smoothie for breakfast or something like that, Um, it almost kind of motivates You're like, already ate one good meal to day, like maybe I'll try a second meal, maybe I'll you know, and feeling good in the morning, so I you know, I have a super food smoothie recipe I used to always have my patients do, and it's

what I had this morning. It's one cup of coconut milk, one scoop of like a collagen protein you can do like vanilla flavor, and a cup of berries. Three simple ingredients in the smoothie. Fantastic for almost everybody. Is there a protein in there? Like good? Like could you do that before a run and work out? If somebody wants to do something like a like a plant protein, I think that's fine as well. Okay. Worst thing that we're putting into our bodies food sugar, sugar, like sugar sugar

or fake sugar, sugar sugar. I mean yeah, I mean sugar is out of everything. I mean, yeah, I mean white sugar. And listen, you guys are nastral I'm in the South. It's like, hey, let's just throw a little sugar and tea. Let's throw it throwing everything. So I love sweet tea. That's my crypto nite. I'm not a big like soda drink or anything that, but I love sweet tea. Last, but not least. I know you kind of said yes to it, but I just want to put a bow on it. Glass of wine every night?

Yes or no? What? Why? Ye? So you know if and that would actually increase anxiety for sure if you overdo it. So here's the thing to know. It's all about balance. Two times a week your body would thrive. But seven days a week that's gonna be too much. That's gonna be too much for your liver. In fact, if you want a recipe for having anxiety, I don't want to get too complicated here, but I'll share with you why you have five organs systems that sort of

your different organs affect other organs. Okay, so you guys have heard like your gut health affects your immune health, right, So like digestion actually affects your immune system or that you've heard of. Your immune system is in your gut. So we know different organ systems affects affect each other. The main organ system that affects the heart or caused

anxiety is actually the liver. So if your liver is under a lot of stress having to deal with alcohol, what that will do is it will stress that out. It's actually going to affect nourishing the heart and cardiovascular system. So I would say, listen, you'll do wine on wine, do great on wine. If you do it a couple of days a week, four shake on four. I'd say three four is gonna be too much too. I think you need to give your body just one glass. I understand.

I understand what you're is gonna have this whole last three minutes of the episode. Cut. Let's edit that out because I don't want any proof. Here's what people do. People will take this thing because I see this a lot. It's like coffee is healthy, dark chocolate's healthy. Wine is healthy, butter is healthy, you know, and it's like, but but this is you know, I think it again, this model.

I'm not a believer in everything in moderation. Thing I don't even I don't think that's true, but I do think generally speaking for most people that be that would be a little too much. And you just answered, gonna go back, But I'm just telling you know, it's fine. It's not I'm not going to change it, but it's fine. I'm kidding. I might, I'm might lesson in a little but then you know, we'll see from there. But um, okay,

so everything in moderation can you do? When you do wine, you need to make sure you're also doing something for B vitamins because your let your body has to do a lot for that. So nights you do wine or anybody listening, anytime you do alcohol you want to take a B complex and maybe something even supporting the liver, like a milk thistle or something like that. That's good. Well,

I mean, I love having you on. I would love to have you over for a glass of wine on you know, on a night with you and your wife and one of your two nights a weekend. Yes.
