Wine Down with Janet Kramer and I Heart Radio podcast. We have a huge day to day, huge day and Easton is just on the edge of the seat. Eastern is literally shaking convulsive in his chair because he's so excited. And I'm really excited too, because I had the pleasure of meeting Brittany Um Brittany Kelly about what I want to say, five is years ago. She's so sweet and we've you know, recently kind of reconnected via Instagram and we've been chatting and she's just a really cool girl.
And she's married to one of the fjail boys, Brian Absolutely Brian Kelly from Florida Georgia line. Yeah, so, I mean Florida Julyne is obviously ginormous. I mean they're huge, and they have so many other ventures they're doing with their own publishing company, their bar um tried Kelly their store. So I'm just really excited to talk to them about their relationship. And let's check check check check. Hello Is
that better? Yeah, it's just check down, chick chick chick check here, check check check breaking And I like, yeah, sounds good. You guys like check check here. I can hear what's down is that what time y'all wake up this morning? Do you really want to know what time we woke up this morning? To thirty? So then because our baby boy was crying, so I went in the
room put the wobby in his mouth. Try. I thought he was going to go down, and then at five he's like and then like farting, and then so I stayed in there with my hand the wobby in his mouth for an hour for him to fall asleep. And then an hour later. What time did you wake up? Well, I had to put down shift. So you went to bed earlier than night I did. I went to bed, I went to bed nine. I was up. Yeah that's early for both days. Yeah, I mean for parents though.
Back to sleep. But I showed you our chat yesterday me Brittany and Lauren b. You were chatting and she sent the funniest Beyonce gift ever. She goes this if this is me when asked about if we're having kids, and it was just like what you said, You're like, I'm covered and spit up. I think you sent a picture of him his apron. He was in his apron. But that's just I mean, you guys have been together
by the way. I know. I'm sorry we just started talking because I'm just really excited right now, you guys, Brian Kelly and Brittany Kelly are in the studio right now. Um, so hands up, thank you all for having us you guys. Seriously, you guys are the like epiphany of just like the most adorable couple ever. You know that piphany is not piphany a pianoy Jesus, You're right. I correct what says a lot all the time. So frustrating, but yes, now you guys are adorable. Thank you. How long have you
guys been together for? We've been married for five years this past December. We just celebrate our fifth year. We renewed our bows and graduations. Yeah yeah, but together for about five five and a half. We uh, you know, we met We were dating um siblings back in two thousand ten, two thousand I think eleven. So the people you're dating webling you were nineteen. I was something like that.
Wait what a girl down in Georgia and her brother was dating Brittany, And so that's how we originally met on Thanksgiving night through that whole family and she walked in and I go, damn, Okay, Well if this never works, you know, if this doesn't work out, you know, I'd probably marry that girl, and uh how long? The other girl for probably another year or so maybe maybe tops.
And then another year and a half went by. We're burning up the road, Tyler and I and building our brand f GL and doing our thing, and Brittany and I kind of started talking and Brittany were still with other guy was okay, And and by the way, just ps at this Thanksgiving, I really didn't like even look your way because I was nineteen and just my little world.
I didn't think you were hands in there, but I wasn't like, but you were like I had a boyfriend, a boyfriend, I'm I'm loyal's yeah, and me like sweat no. But by the way, I get this question, I mean hundreds of times a week. I'm not joking. And I was just on a podcast with Caroline Hobby. I love her. We didn't get this question, and everyone blew us up afterwards, So no one knows the story yet. Exclusive she she came to a show like two years later. Why did
you little show? Well, he had chext to me a couple of times. How did you get her number? Sorry? I like the weeds of all. You know, I think it was Twitter. Now. We used to play Angry Birds together. Oh I already probably had your number, didn't I we played Angry Birds together when we were But I want to know how you got the number that you slid in because you knew you wanted her honest, Okay I did not a couple of shows. Yeah, I kept telling
her to come out. I was like, you come out, come out and hang see show, see what we're up to, you know, because you know, two years before I was playing her demos and playing the whole family songs and everything, and you know, even in two years it had evolved. So I actually have the Cruise demo and my email somewhere. But I just love the fact that come to a show because like what girl would be like wow at the show because you know, f GL shows are just I mean, well, I was like I don't want to.
I was like, am I groupie if I come to the show or do I get like a backstage pass or like what's happening to get it all? So how was the first show? So the first show is actually in Augusta, Georgia. I was having like a super terrible week that outdoor muddy Hot. It was like a nasty, small festival, and so um I met up with some friends there and I just thought I was going to hang out in the crowd, you know, just to be
the groupie that I came there to be. And and he ended up sending his tour manager back and grabbing me or whatever, and I just sat on the bus and I'm like, oh God, like what happens on there? I was like, I'm standing on my ground, like I gotta have finals this week. I can't be descripted like emotionally distracted. So we just, yeah, we just had like a fun little conversation and I think at the end of it, you like leaned in to kiss me, and I was like m M. I was like, oh god,
I have to go. I've only got five five ten minutes left, you know, hopefully you know that's not all it takes. So anyways, he was really sweet and he was a gentleman, and he ended up walking back to my car, and basically we really never stopped texting and never stopped seeing each other, and I honestly didn't know where I was going. I was like a distraction for a little bit. But no, and how soon did you guys start actually dating. I think we started having conversations.
I think he was worried because I was at the University of Georgia at the time, and so I was, you know, I still had some stuff to get out. But no, UM. I think he at me up and he was like, you know, is this exclusive because there was a couple of nights, you know, he was up obviously at a show, and I'm like, I'm having to be in a study room like going to bed early. Um, and yeah, I just like never was like a linger, like texted him too late or like I was in
hot pursuit. Once we reacted, he was the one that was like, what are you doing in had dated girls all my life and and been waiting to connect with Brittany, and and it was it was perfect. I was, I think twenty eight at the time. We're about to be twenty eight, and I was in full pursuit. I said, that's the one. That's what was it about Brittany that made everything. She was just her own woman and very confident, very creative, UM, very strong. I knew her story and
I just I felt super connected. I just felt like she was extremely real and as we've been married and gotten to know each other on so many levels. It it just you know, confirms my my thoughts and my feelings and definitely a god thing how we connected. I think we just I think we we we we want each other, but we we also need each other. I think we balanced each other out and bring a lot of uh what what each other needs to the tape,
wh no matter what we're going through. So I think it's um, I wouldn't be where I'm at in my career and and with f g l if if it wouldn't if she wasn't a part of this. I mean she brings a lot to the table in terms of support and and also you just inspirement. You're beautiful and
you're just awesome. So guys, I need some tissues over here. Yeah, just kind of when you know, you know, like I was engaged when I was super young one and definitely going the wrong route in life, and I knew that so waited and dated and and enjoyed life and just didn't put any pressure. And then kind of when I knew that that was Brittany and I was like, all right, let's go. You're getting my mom's brain. Yeah, I was
electric for sure. I think we knew within the first what two months, you know, like we're gonna get married. We're like live partners, survival partners. Like do you guys believe in soul mates? I think you have? Yeah, I think so, mate. Yeah, yeah, you would not say I'm his soul mate, and it drives me crazy. I just I believe that we're meant to be together, like I said numerous times, Prince, because again, my my interpretation of a soul mate is that there's one person out there
for you, period. Brittany is her his one person. I think you could have multiple soul mates, friends, friendships, and this I think he's my Well, I was taking crazier thoughts, you know, I mean like my survival like person, you know what I mean, Like I get like soul mate, but like you're my life survival mate. Like we're going to figure things out together. That's how I feel about
you that we've been through SORR. But like, yeah, but if I if I randomly past, I mean, she might find another soul mate exactly, its meant to happen person, but but you will always be her soul mate. So like if Michael and I end up if you if you pass on that motorcycle that you want, because he really wants that motorcycle. If you end up, you know, riding, you're riding off a cliff. You I'll be like, man, he was always my soulmate, and I might find someone else,
but they'll never be all right. That's that's different because that's like nature's circumstances, like taking someone out of the equation. But if if I decided or you decided that this wasn't working, if we would have gotten divorced, we would have gotten divorced, like a long time ago, right, but if that happened, Hence why you're my soul mate, totally yellow soulmates, and because exactly because we are surviving, we're working, we're I mean, we have like put our gloves on
and we're fighting for our marriage. That is a soulmate. If you weren't my soulmate, I would not be fighting for our marriage. End of your souls are always connecting no matter what exactly, what I'm really doing is waiting for the right time sound the road for like a Valentine's Day present, birthday anniversary, where that's the time I dropped. You are it's going to be so impactful because she
had to wait like ten years. No, he write, he writes me really sweet notes, and I feel like this note you wrote me the other day, it was so sweet, but it also bothered me. He goes, you are beautiful and amazing woman, Janet. I am incredibly thankful that you are my life partner. Thank you for fighting for us. And I almost put it like I have to go and thank him for this note. At the same time. You should have seen the note that are crumpled up
before that. They said, so a note that's not life partner. Okay, you're gonna get down on one day and ask her one day. I just love that you guys renewed your bows. I think that's really special. Is that something you guys are going to do every I hope. So. I think life happened so freaking quick the past five years and was so uh filled with so many blessings and places and people and experiences, and she was a part of
every every day of that. So we just wanted to kind of slow it down and take a week for ourselves. We were in big sir California and beautiful time of the year and just wanted to kind of just do it again. I think we love love, we love our love, and it just felt right. I think every five years could be could be pretty cool. Maybe maybe in like the tenure, we have like a big ceremony like family
and friends. And I love that. Everybody said it's like the tone for the next chapter, because every five or so years, I feel like you're kind of changing and your your thoughts are changing, and I don't know, your character changes to an extent too. So it's just like a good repromise to each other and kind of just like a cleansing of of everything else. And what are y'alls hurdles as a couple? I mean, what is you know, something that you guys just kind of always butt heads
with mm hmm, oh he never cuts his toe, Nils. Okay, that's that's taken out of context. They might here and there, I'll scratch her here and there and on the sheets, and I'll know when it's time to clip them so sensitive down there those legs are yours. What is a hurdle? I think something along the way. I mean, you know, um, maybe just you know when when your partner is down or going through something and and you know, life is good and and you feel that for them and just
kind of allowing that to affect the present moment. I think it's tough on for both of us and on both ends. So we've learned to just lift each other up and and and kind of talk through that and whether it's you know, uh, family or business, um, dreams or whatever it may be. So I think just you know, we've we've we've I don't know, you know what I'm saying,
what you're saying. And it's like if if I can't think of a specific example, but obviously, like not everything is perfect all the time, and I always say, I feel like we're we're good. We're good mirrors for each other.
So like, you know, if I'm being me and or being a you know, for lack of better words, he can kind of hold the mirror up in front of me and say, hey, like you said this a little weird or you know, this threw me off a little bit, and I may not like it at that point, but it always comes back around to where I'm like, okay,
like you're my mirror, thank you. I can move I can move forward from this and say for him, you know, I feel like if if he's off or he's had a long day and something comes up, I can be like, hey, like I didn't really like this way or how you said this to me. It's just it's good to have an open, honest conversation and just kind of just be that mirror for each other and be able to bounce it back and forth and not like take it too personal and take it as like out of love. You know.
I love that. I feel like you guys have a great communication. I mean, that's communications key with keeping the relationship together. So I think that's we're getting there where we're able to start doing that. But before like trying to mirror each other, we would both kind of take it personal. It's like whoa, like wha wha, Like why are you saying I was being this way or you
know that wasn't the intention. So we're starting to get there, We're being able to do that not take offense so much offense to it where then it's just like hard when your character is being called out, Yeah, especially if you're not there in that moment to be ready to be called out. You guys believe there's such thing as too much time together, Like it seems like you guys are just always together, working together, doing business together, fun together.
It's like, what do you do to still like separate yourselves and enjoy the time for yourself. Yeah, I think we we definitely there's there's two much time together sometimes and that's when, you know, I get up early. So I love getting two or three hours by myself. I'll get up super early, sometimes six. I mean, oh my god, yeah, I'm like, get out of here. Closed the door and I barely roll over. We got four dogs at the house with us. They're they're already like you ready to go?
You ready to I'm hungry. I'm hungry, you know. And so I'm like, I'll get up and you know, watch some podcasts and meditate a little bit, have some b
K time. I think that really that's my favorite time is the morning by myself, just kind of letting the morning evolve, waking up with the world, hearing the birds sing, watching you know, we live on the water, so watching sometimes dolphin or eagles and blue herons, and having the dogs run around, and it's just kind of it's kind of you know, a new day and a fresh start, and so taking that mindset with each day, I like waking up with the world and um just making sure
I have my time, whether that's going for a bike ride or we'll do that together. We're pretty good about separating ourselves even if we're together all day long. Like I know that I'm going to go and do a little yoga session and put my headphones in and had to work, and you know, he does his calls and
walks up and down the street. I mean, we're even a day that we're like a PC together, Like we're doing our own thing all throughout the day, and we're kind of in understanding that, okay, like you're gonna go do your thing, and like I'll take this time for myself to call a family member or it's just again going back to like not taking it personal. Like if sometimes he's on the phone until non pm and I'm
like come in here and hang out with me. But I'm like, all right, let me take this time to like call a friend or catch up with somebody, and and really like take this time and value the time for me, versus like being like offended that he's not in here, because usually he's either you know, catching up with his friends or his family or trying to make us more money. So you know, it's like you know, you gotta like not take a fence or take take
take it personally. Why why the look though when she was saying, you looked at me when you said try not to take it personal. I will say sometimes, I just I I will always say this. Michael would spend the entire day without me, and that'd be his favorite day, My favorite day, spending every moment with him. I just love spending time with him. I just I love doing things of someone else. Understand. Have you all ever taken the test to figure out your love language. Yeah, it's
definitely quality times. Yeah. And his is like not my wife, you know, his his acts of service and that's like my least thing. Yeah, I'm word words, Yeah, I think mine's like um, physical touch yeah yeah, Like if we're out somewhere and I'd rather somebody or rather at least reach over and give me a little pad, even if we don't talk or touch the whole rest of the night, Like, just give me that, even when you're at a party. That's what I'll say to like, if we have something,
you know at any event, he doesn't. If you just come by me and just grab my hand or hold my hand. I'm good for the rest of the night. That just means that it's you and me, we're here, we're doing this together. We're just talking to other people and it's good. Yeah, that's like what it always comes back to and what you know. Obviously in the beginning, you have these arguments and you try to figure out how to get get out of them or get away from that negative feeling. But I feel like we've just
I did. Like it's all out of love. And at the end of the day, like, no matter who your partners or soul mate is, like you you're really just finding that partner to like figure things out with because it's not always gonna be perfect. So if you just know that you're always going to get back to that that place, it's like, let's just figure it out and like and I feel like that's a soul mate you do that work. Because I remember one time and we hadn't done it since, but it was like the first
year of our marriage. Remember, we flew into uh we we flew into Sawgrass the golf course. We had to do like a like some event in the next day, and we got in super late, like eleven eleven thirty, and we were up all night just arguing and arguing about I mean, something stupid, but like we would not I mean, I didn't get any sleep. It affected the whole next day. I was in a mood, you know.
And we've we learned so many lessons from that about hey, never go to bed, never go to bed mad, and and always try to figure things out and and even in the dark arguments at the moment we're like, I know that you'll always ask like just let me, just let me know it's gonna be okay at the end, and it's all right, it's gonna be okay. But I'm I'm still really piste off who has to talk through its time. She needs time. I like to talk and
do it. I'm like, just give me like a couple of hours, let me digest it, and that's when I'll go right on the full leathers or something. But but
that's what's hard, though, is at night. If you fight at night, that's so hard because you know, he can if we're fighting, he could be sawn logs And I'm like in the bed like having that you know the romantic movie where I'm like like crying in the bed with the eyes wide open, and he's like, Oh, I'd love to talk through it, but sometimes it's like you just the timelines midnight, we have to go to bed
at some point. So that's what's so hard. And if we we know about ourselves that if we force the issue too soon, like even if it's that night, you're like, we don't want to go to bed angry. But if we force it, we're not in a healthy place to really have a construction, like a good healthy conversation around it, where like this is just going to do more damage, Like we can't do this right now, Like we have to just agree to disagree in this moment, totally kick
it up tomorrow. Did you guys do therapy because I just or no, because you guys are just so we haven't really done anything or we've done like once sush together. We do a lot of individual Like I have like three different therapists. Yeah, Like I have like an individual therapist. I have a family therapist that helps with my like extended family UM, and then I also have UM basically another personal therapist. Mary Jane's one of my my therapists. that I used to have in our shower. So the thing is, I would say to him, well, Mike, this shampoo is for when my hair is fizzy, and this shampoo is for what I need more like dry hair and less oil, and this shampoo is going to help
with volume izing. Well, that's why I'm so happy that I found Function of Beauty because all you have to do is take a very fast quiz online and Function of Beauty individually formulates every bottle just for you based on your hair type, hair goals, and preferences, and you select your color, your fragrance or at for die free and fragrance free, whatever you want. I said I wasn't going to ask at practicing, right, I know you're practicing, but you know obviously your your other half of f g L is not. They're now welcoming whether it's just pregnant, right exactly, just we just got to be careful. So mom, my mom has an identical twin and my dad also
has an identical twin. Oh, so if you can imagine, dress me out. So my doctor was like had like four or something at one time, right, so I'll have four of what's going on in your life at the same time, probably he was like, you know, you gotta prepare for like twins or more. He's like, he saysn't the twin gene in there. It's like two sets of the parents and they're both identity. I feel like you guys would be great, great for twins though, because you
guys are gretty calm, I think you would too. I just think we're still probably a couple of good years off. I feel like we don't feel any pressure. We're super excited all our all our family and friends and everybody's having babies. It's a lot of babies around us, and we loved us. Yeah, they can be our kids for a little bit, you know, and we can pass them back just baby said ours, and then you'll be like, yeah,
we're good for like ted more. I know she'd be a great mom, and I know I'd i'd be a great father, and we look forward to that at some point. But again, it is down to just you know, life decisions. And I realized a lot when I was engaged way too young, and realized that sometimes I force things and there's no need to force things when the universe has its time and God has its timing and um. But what is it any of that forces the things? Just wanting things to happen that might might not, you know,
just wanting things to happen. Immediately satisfied with this. So I've just learned to follow my gut. I still have that drive and that energy behind it, but it's all about how does it sit with your gut? And you know, dealing with people, business, songs, anything. If it hits you weird, it's probably not the right. When you're taking on new
like business ventures and everything that you do. And you guys have the publishing company, you have, h what's your you have a tribe, Kelly, you have all that stuff. When you're getting into new business and you want to control so much because I feel like you guys have a similar personality. It's like Jane, It's like I want to get this done right now. Like yesterday, jan is trying to make phone calls and it's President's daying people
aren't working. She's like, why aren't people working? I'm trying to get stuff done here thing, So to what extent are you able just kind of let go and acknowledge the fact that you can only control so much. That is an anxiety we have that word. Yeah, in every facet of everything that we're involved in, that's very much. But that's why you guys are thriving. That's why you
guys are at the top because you're in power. You're in control of it, and I feel like if you're not in control of it, then you're letting other people control your lives. And then ultimately it's not really doesn't feel like yours because it's not because everybody else has their hands in it. And it's great to have a great team. You need that, and that's what that's what we have. We have a great team. And Tree Vibes and tried Kelly f Tree Vibes that that was that
the same as Tribe Kelly? Or is that that's tree Vibe? Was yours? How did that? So? Tree Vibes is Tyler and I was publishing company and we have a bunch of songwriters and it's also it's right next to Tribe Kelly and Meet and Greet. We bought a property and redid it, put studios rider's rooms. But the big part of our business for Tree Vibes is our bus that we bring on tour. We had probably six or seven songs on our new record that we're written on the bus in the past year and a half or two
so and a lot of other cuts. So just staying creative out on the road and keeping things flowing and having a lot of great songwriters from Nashville that are taking the trip out, guys that are signed to us. And uh so that's it's a pretty cool business. It's a studio on wheels and we hit the front and the back every tour day. We're always writing and um. And then your store in Nashville. Yeah, so the stores right to you. Yeah, so the stores, well, it's both
of us. It's both of us, but it's a it's a women and men's um clothing line and it's it's all made out in l A. So I'm out here kind of looking over production and and um all that in l A. But the stores in Nashville, and then we also have a store down in thirty A. So is that something where you needed something that was yours?
Was it? Yeah? Definitely. I Mean when I was at the University of Georgia and Athens UM, you know, before I met him, I had my own little Etsy account and I sold a couple hundred dollars every month to kind of make my rent. I like hated waitressing, so I stopped that started my little own um jewelry slash
like custom clothing company. Um. And then yeah, once I was on the bus with him, we just were like altering his clothes and the band was asking like, hey, can you cut my shirt and make it cool and bleach it? And so yeah, it just kind of was born on there, and um, I wanted to represent our family. So it is as far as no it is. I was just saying, you were the genius behind the inside
of the trading post. She had a lot a lot of input and worked really closely with the architect and the interior designer, and um, yeah, one of our most favorite projects because it was an old historic house and instead of tearing it down and building big condos, we you know, we're a part of uh you know, kind of keeping that tradition and also bringing in the new
and same thing down in Florida. We bought an old historic house and gutted it and kind of kept some of the uh same blueprint, but put our twist on it. So something that we can leave behind, something that will hopefully last and we can share with people. That's that that is tangible and then go experience and anything from the type of wood flooring we chose to the clothes
that are made here in the USA. So yeah, where can the listeners is online obviously if they're not in Nashville, A Florida, but they yeah, yeah, that's I mean, that was my first love as e commerce. So it's online,
Um yeah, trup kelly dot com. But yeah, we had it online for a couple of years and then the stores were just kind of um born this last year, and we feel really blessed that everyone's responding well to it and kind of digging deeper into want things are important to know, or it's important to know, like where your stuff's made, you know, um, and just whose hands are touching it and and whatnot. So yeah, so we're really proud of How do you deal with the haters
on his side? Oh so sorry not not only love that. I got haters on hoochies, the haters in the hoochies. How do you how do you deal with both? No? I love it, um yeah, yeah, yeah, no. I actually just quoted this on my Instagram the other day. But I've been reading a lot of Burnet Brown I don't know if you guys. Yeah, And I love this quote by her and she's like, if you're not in the arena getting your ass kicked with me, I don't I
don't really want your opinion. And I love that because, um, she talks about how these people that you're talking about, the haters, UM, these people that are not around for the right reasons, like they bought the cheap seats in the arena. Um, so their opinions really don't matter. You can hear them, but you don't have to listen to them. So I try to take that road as much as I can. Not to say I've always taken that road. It's it's hard, especially in the beginning and um, when
you're a girlfriend and people don't take you serious. And actually I was just telling b K this earlier. I was like, you know, the first time I remember meeting you, UM, we were at like a festival or something, and I think you were there too, and you were sitting on a cooler and you turned around to me and Haley Um Tyler's girlfriend at the time, and you're like, come over here, like talk to us like this. And I just remember telling b K, I'm like, that's really sweet.
Like she's like the first person like in the industry that just even said hey to us, like and man was sweet and like genuine with us. Um, so thank you for that. So sweet remember that too. But I know you got you girls were just adorable and you know, no, I mean it's it's and and I just had a girl interview for me a couple of weeks ago, and she said, um, she goes, I just try to love the person in front of me, no matter if I like them or I believe in there you know, herd
or whatever, I believe in their values. Like, I just love the person in front of you. And I love that. And um, that's what I try to do. And yeah, I just try to take the high road when the haters try to creep in. You know what about the girls, the girls, you know what, I always say, like I'm flattered that that woman. You know, I think my my husband's nice and handsome and attractive. I mean obviously he is, you know, and and that's why he's where he's at,
and he's talented and awesome. So I don't know, I I guess I just take it as a compliment if they want him, you know, because I know he's just going to give me that little physical touch I need in the moment, and or give me a look across the room, or we just have this deeper understanding like that will just work through whatever happens, you know, and I can just I mean, you're just head over heel. So those those you probably just have blinders on. Anyways, Yeah,
we have such a beautiful life. There's there's nothing that could come in between us. I love I love her, I love our dogs, I love our family, I love what we've created. I love what we're going to continue to create. And yeah, it's just it's a it's a brick wall, and there's just no there's no opportunity. There's I mean, there's no random random anybody backstage. You know. It's been like that since even before we got kind of before we got married. So it's just, um, you know,
you play with fire, you're gonna get burned. If you you know, do what you're supposed to do. It's it's all good. So we do you and Tyler go at each other a lot or no, because I just feel like a lot of times those those you know, to some bands break up because they're roats. Now you know, we've only had a couple of times where we just we we go on hikes and we talk things out and you know, there's there's a brotherhood and and there's a business there. So UM, we've we've we've realized, just
like our marriage, me and Brittany, communication is everything. So UM, we are brothers. I don't I don't even think we fight like brothers. I think we just figure things out. So UM, that's why we're still around, That's why we're still going hard, and that's why the energy is still there. The passion is because we both care and we both want to want this thing to last. And um, but not not everything, not everything along the way it has
been perfect, Just like anything. I mean, you gotta work through little roadblocks and that's why you know, hopefully you know your next project is always better than than the last. And UM, I think that's what what's brought in us closer is just great communication and hey, I'm feeling this way. Well, I'm feeling this way, and UM, we've had some mentors along the way help us, and we continue to make sure that we're um also not just always business and
trying to hang out and work on our relationships. So, um no, he's he's he's my brother. So I thought, I just think it's it's a marriage, a different kind of marriage, you know. So we just try to talk everything out. Have you guys had the same point of view like creatively, like as you guys continue me forward, have there been major creative disagreements or is it more just kind of other things on the side, you know. I mean for the most part, we we pretty much
agree when it comes creatively. I think that's why this thing works. I mean there's there's really not a not a song or not really a moment that's uh, that's really too man I it has to be this way.
I mean there's there's certain things we've been passionate about and we'll talk and say, hey, man, I don't I don't know if this fits because of this or this or this, and we just communicate and then either me or him understands and then it's you know, oddly enough that you know, the next day we write a song that's even better than what we were even thinking about.
So it just it just depends. You know, favorite song here to date, favorite song, um right now told you on our new record, Yeah, that was probably my favorite song to sing. All the harmonies on it was just a I call it sing song some of our like can Hyde Red, that's this that's pretty rocking and it's just like going forward on like the vocals and my parts on that record. So told you it was just like it just feels like f g L in the
fifties but like fresh. And I just think of my wife every time I sing it and hear it, and I just I think it stands out. I don't know why. I think the mix is solid. I just think it. I don't know why do you think? So? You guys are a big advocate for Raylan, who, by the way, I love and she's just incredibly sweet. Um. I just I've always liked her. But what's your stance on the women in country um? And the lack thereof you know, I'm I feel pretty strongly about it. I grew up
on Shania Twain, faith Hill, Martina McBride. Um, those were the those were the and the Judds. So I had a heavy dose of of female, the females and in country music as well as everything, I mean, from from groups to Diamond Rio Alabama, Tim mcgrawl, Kenny Chesney, legend um. I don't. I don't. I don't know what what the what the cure is or what the what the magic is behind. I think they just need to be played more,
I think, I mean period. So hopefully we'll we'll have a chance to you know, I said this in an interview, but I mean if if we come across some great songs, I mean that that's that's an easy way for us to do something about it. Florida Georgia line is to find some great songs and find the right artist that that that it works with and and start putting them out. I mean, that's one way to do it. But I think the pds just need to play more. Probably. You know, luckily,
streaming is really helping a lot. Streaming is a really cool way to get your music out. I mean it it has allowed country music to be global now, I mean, your music can be heard anywhere. So yeah, I got a source a lot with that one. But moving on, yeah, yeah, I mean I get I got dropped from a label, but yet you know the guys that they kept on that label I out charted outstreamed, but yet they have kept the guys and they dropped me. This just makes
me selfish. That's interesting. It makes me a little angry. Well, the silver lining is with streaming popping off right now and you owning I've made more my songs and I made with got the girl Boss and your girl boss in it right now. There's the upside is you're gonna make more money and you have a chance to really probably get a different, better team involved that really is a behind you and then you then you have more leverage and go cut a deal. So I'm gonna get
up with some tree Vibe songs please. Yeah, I got to the catalog to day start sending you some songs. You still got it in your baby. Well it's just real frustrating, but you know what I mean, It's just it's gonna get me hot and bothered. So we won't even go there. Do you guys live in a tree We still have our treehouse. Uh, it's it's a studio. Uh, that's where we I've recorded a bunch of music, written a bunch of songs, and um for a moment in time. There a brief moment in time we had it on
the market. We thought we were just gonna try to simplify. We've got sixty two acres and um, you know. But then I really felt like I had too many voices in my ear and we said, screw it, it's not for sale. We'll never sell that. We'll pass it on to the dogs if we have to one day. It really is the cornerstone and in the foundation of our
marriage and creativity. We got married there. Uh. The treehouse was a place is a place that when life is crazy, when life is just a hundred miles an hour, we can slow it down and completely be lost in the woods and lost with each other. So, uh, pretty eye opening experience when you have different voices and things, you know you should try this, you should do that, And it's one of those things getting back to your gut it. It didn't go down, didn't sit with me well, and
I went back visited and about cried. I felt like the woods were like, you're an idiot. You got a lot more memories to make, a lot more hits to ride out here, so hold onto this. And that's in the Nashville area. Yeah, yeah, that's amazing. All right, Easton, I'm gonna let you take a few questions because I
know you're just all right. I just wanted I just wanted to say that I was not into country music at all until I started working on a country radio show and the songs that got me into the genre Luke Bryan, Drunk on You, Why You Wanted by Janet Kramer and Cruised by Florida Georgia Lyne. That song like totally changed my life and am I became the biggest fan of you guys, like because I grew up in a in a beach town in California. Like the stuff you guys sing about your songs, I did not experience
at all. But like, when I got into that music, I would tell my wife, like, let's go get this thing stuck, come on, fire up like you d have you have a hybrid. We're not doing that, but yeah, but um like dirt uh, oh my god, um um maybe all I'm so nervous. I've been practicing this for weeks. Uh maybe all that song you guys did with Tim McCraw, Oh my god, that song is a work of art.
I just appreciate. I just wanted to say that, thank you so much because there's a lot of people that I think normally wouldn't have given country music a chance, and the music you guys make is just so good and it it reaches so many people on such a level that even if you're not, like like I didn't grow up on a farm or anything like that, but like, I feel a connection to this music anyway. Appreciate that. Man, that's great. That kind of made my day. I really
appreciate that anyway, And the new record is awesome. Thank you. I don't know, well, I feel like if I could say, sometimes fans like you that have changed our life and and country music fans in general are are you are one? So I think it's that passion. I think it's the energy behind uh feeling connected to the music, connected to the artist, connected to the stories and the song. So thank you. I mean, we we have a lot of fans like you, and then we wouldn't be here today
if it wouldn't for for y'all. So shout out to you and everybody listening. Thanks. I guess the one question do you have? You guys have done so many crazy, like awesome collaborations like Jason Rulo on the new album, to um the Backstreet Boys, Like who do you want to work with in the future? What do you have looking forward? You know, it always comes down to the song and if we feel connected to it, if it feels like a hit, if we feel like our fans
are going to dig it. Um. So, if the song came came across, whether we wrote it, if it was outside song, I mean, we would collaborate with anybody from Rihanna, Little Wayne Drake, Bruno, Mars, Alan Jackson, no doubt about it. What about the song that you're going to pitch him? Right? I think we're working on songs. Did I just I mean right there and I just put that out. The Postman would be benefested. That would be incredible. That would that would seriously be so cool. Gazy would be good. Um.
Although I'm team Halsey, I don't know the situation. Yeah, we Yeah, she's great. I go post one and then I went tempisode of it. You have a favorite, Oh my god, how do you even like? Do like favorite?
I liked? I like to told you though, well, I will say to back up Easton, I remember when Crews came out whatever summer what summer that was DOES twelve and it came out in the summer, and we had just reported a training camp in Buffalo, and usually you know, in a training camp you listen to rap, hip hop, all this stuff to get ready. That song was played so much in our locker room because we had a bunch of country boys on the team that we had cruise blaring in the locker room before we went out
for like two a day practices. So that that's definitely probably my favorite song even still to this date, just because I listened to it walking to the locker room. We listened to it in the locker room going out to practice. So are you sick of playing that song? The heck no, no never. That started everything. I mean the day we wrote it. Um, I still have the same energy and the same feeling in the same Uh.
I was a part of writting three songs the day that we wrote that song, and um just super humbling and it just takes it circles everything back around to don't forget your dreams, don't forget who you are, don't forget how you got here, don't forget who helped you get there, don't forget to keep writing three songs a day sometimes when you have to, don't forget to keep showing up and oh my goodness, meant to be baby, You're not gonna break out into that song. Correct, How
are you doing in this meant to be? I can't even do that. I mean I feel like y'all should break out and meant to be right now. You know. The serio tried it and I was like, I can't do it. Can you just give a little in meaning I can't be It'll be, It'll be, baby, Just let it be, don r let me see this things. I'm not to the high nor now you sound warmed up so quiet? Come on, Oh you know just what happens when you're at that hard studio pb rex that just walks in with her. Yeah. Yeah, that was a heck
of a ride. That felt like that was huge three point over that was on every kind of station constantly. I didn't get away from it. Couldn't. I couldn't run that kind of big, very special though. I mean, it's it's uh. I always feel it feels good to kind of reinvent yourself and to be on another wave that
feels that strong. It's it's super humbling, and I mean I think that's also the energy that we took in the studio and just wanted to make things as good as we could and sing better and write better, pick the best songs even even harder. So yeah, well, I just cannot thank you guys enough for coming to the studio, being vulnerable, being open, wanting to talk to us, specially with about your marriage and just life in general. So
thank you guys so much. I think you guys are great and souls and we should do a double date sometimes. Let's do that talk all about marriage and in the treehouse. Yall should come to Florida and we should go on to bet a, go fishing or something. My favorite thing in the world, do you guys, No, zero kids, not at all. Um love you guys, Thank you, thank you. I love them. That was awesome, Like they're just they're very aware and centered and they just have such a good They both have really very very present which you know I met Brian. I mean we kind of was why you want to round the same time cruise. I feel like it was same kind of you know, and you never know how people are going to change Florgadge line. Everyone knows Flordiadge line, so you just don't know. I mean,
you know, a flying private planes there. Their life is has grown so much in that kind of lavish way, and so you just don't know how people change. But he is. It's almost nicer. Every time I've you know, any time we've seen any of those guys, it's always kind of been in passing, like we've seen him, was like, hey Brian, you know whatever, you good to see you guys, But it was never really sat down and had conversations with them. So to have Brian in Brittany in here,
that was really awesome. Yeah, they're both genuinely really nice people, and they there's just a lot of love. I think that's like the best world. I just there's so much love between them. It was very genuine. Like for people listening like, I'm sure it sounded genuine, but just watching them in person, it was very genuine. The way look they look at each other and the way they talk to each other, it reminds me a lot of us. But you know, oh yoo nah um. But no, that
was awesome. My new favorite people. Yeah, and I think we should take them up on going to thirty A. Yeah. My only uh what, what's what I'm looking for? My only experience on the Panhandle of Florida is like Panama City. So when people talk about like thirty A and like the Hamptons of the South, I'm like, wait, what I'm thinking of Panama City and that is not anywhere close to that. But there are two different places. Well, now they're moving back to Nashville, it'll be closer, So I
definitely think we should take them up on that. I do really the kids at home, we can bring our dogs change. Okay, A huge thank you to stamps dot com.
