¶ Dr Kimberley Linert explains why she chose her profession
Start with your journey, how did you first get into optometry, and what led you to the behavioural aspect of this work, all right, well,l thank you first of all, for having me on your show I love it thanks you for being here, you have so um yeah when you know when you're growing up and people say what is it you want to do when you grow you know when you get older and I thought well I had an aunt who was a doctor and I said, I want to be a doctor like her because I admired her.
And then I realized when I got to high school and I had to do biology and we were, you know, using pigs and dissecting and everything, I decided that blood was not for me. And so I looked to
see what thing I could do to help people. with that didn't involve a lot of blood and um about that same time I was trying contact lenses for the first time and I'm like oh this doctor helps people and um he doesn't have to deal with blood so I'm like that would be a good profession so that's how I chose optometry is
