What is a ReTweet?

Ever seen the saying retweet or RT and not really sure what it is? To "retweet" is to repeat/quote someone's tweet. I usually do it when I come across an interesting tweet and want to send it on down my twitter stream so that my tweeps who follow me will get to see it as well.
